This is it. The last major. One of the strongest fields ever will assemble at Hoylake with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy as the betting favorites. This is the third installment here since 1967. Plan on hearing “fescue” “gorse bushes” and “pot bunkers” all weekend. DK has put some choice contests in play, with golfers now in the 5K salary range, just like they did when they first started golf contests. The Open DFS DraftKings Ownership Projections are tailored to bring you the pivots off heavy chalk, value, and solid sleepers to help your team(s) rise to the top of the field in multiple formats.
The Course and it’s Horses
There isn’t much course history to speak of and very little metrics with no shot link across the pond. This course is much different than last years. One year ago it consisted of generous wide fairways where bombers could grip it and rip it with little worries (Cam Smith). Every golfer on this course will think twice before pulling the driver out. Tiger woods won in 2006 and never pulled his driver out. Rory did the same in 2014. This gives the short golfers the opportunity to run with the big dogs and level the field. Accurate ball striking, approach, around the green and putting all factor in. This course is right on the coast where weather will be in play every single day. Favorites with the shortest odds include McIlroy, Scheffler, Rahm and Smith.
Recent Results
Last week our Frisky Biscuit made the cut and brought good value at 3% ownership. Again, we picked 3/4 high finishing golfers in the selections listed below the ownership. This brings our overall record to 50-15. Our record since the Sentry in January is 30-9 for a six K salaried golfer under 5 % ownership that makes the cut to bring value.
