Cash Game NBA Breakdown For 8.18

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I hope you all are ready to get your lineups put in today. We had a ton of people posting wins last night in discord including one of our members taking down 5K on DraftKings. I know everyone loves the big win but bankroll management and cash contests are important to sustain yourself between these hits. So with no further delay lets get into my Cash Game NBA Breakdown For 8.18.

Very important note for those who don’t know: I typically do not put the high priced guys in my articles. Guys like AD, Lebron, Harden, and Lillard are a matter of preference, but I’ll provide my thoughts on each of them in discord if you want to know so feel free to hop on and ask me or the other guys.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 8.18, Guards:

Chris Paul, Thunder, 7.7K(DK)/7.2K(FD):

Alright, all know that Houston is a fantastic target and easy route to score points. What puts this over the top for me is the pure level of pettiness that Chris Paul has. He will take any little slight and use it for motivation so there is no telling how much he is looking forward to trying to end the Rockets playoff hopes. I don’t always prescribe to the “revenge narrative” but with someone like CP3 will be bringing a little extra to the game.

Evan Fournier, Magic, 4.9K(DK)/5.3K(FD)

Evan is purely a value/punt play for me, and only in the event that Aaron Gordon sits. He gets a 3.6% usage bump whenever Gordon misses time putting him right at 28%. You can reasonably see a floor near 25 DK points and a ceiling near 35 DK points if Gordon does end up sitting.

Markelle Fultz, Magic, 4.2K(DK)/5.5K(FD)

Due to multi-position eligibility, you don’t have to go this route on DraftKings if you don’t want to but point guard is thin on FanDuel again so if you don’t like either option above Fultz is a reasonable option. Milwaukee’s length can prove difficult for point guards but they play at the highest pace on the slate so opportunities will be there. I don’t blame you if you go another route and avoid this altogether at point guard, I just wanted to provide a 3rd option at PG for FanDuel.

Jimmy Butler, Heat, 7.6K(DK)/7.8K(FD):

Keep an eye on his status before locking him in but Butler is a fantastic value on both sites today. Just a few days ago he went off against the same Pacers team and Domantas Sabonis isn’t coming back any time soon. The pace isn’t fantastic between either team but it should be a close contest, the rotations will be much tighter, and did I mention Butler hates TJ Warren and he goes out of his way to embarrass him any time he gets a chance. On that last note, there is a slight chance that the animosity between the two could boil over so know there is a little in terms of risk.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 8.18, Forwards:

Victor Oladipo, Pacers, 6.2K(DK)/6.1K(FD, Shooting Guard):

Clearly he isn’t anywhere near the dominating offensive weapon that he was prior to his injury but it looks like he’s beginning to round into form just in time for the playoffs. He’s regularly seeing over 30 minutes a game now and just the other day against the Lakers he put up a 38 DK point performance. He’s kind of sitting in no man’s land in terms of pricing so he may not end up in my builds but with the increased minutes’ load and the fact that he took 27 shots the other day against the Rockets it’s only a matter of time before the shots fall and he puts up a monster.

Khris Middleton, Bucks, 7.3K(DK)/7.0K(FD):

Steady Eddie right here. I don’t play much Middleton when Giannis is on the court but Khris is a consistent performer that will likely not kill your cash lineups. He’s good for right around 38-40 DK points on a normal night with ceiling games that can get over 50 if his shots are falling. Also if this game does turn into a blowout Middleton is usually the last starter off the floor in the fourth giving you a couple of extra minutes of production.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 8.18, Centers:

Brook Lopez, Bucks, 4.7K(DK)/5.8K(FD):

I like his price a good deal more on DraftKings but I wouldn’t say no to using him on FanDuel for a little salary relief. Lopez has been regularly seeing more than 30 minutes a game and while Vucevic is strong under the rim that is not really what Brook’s game is. Sure he will snag a few boards but he takes the bulk of his shots outside of the cylinder and from beyond thee point range largely canceling that out. On DK I can honestly make a case to play both since their play styles don’t create a negative correlation.

Bam Adebayo, Heat, 7.4K(DK)/7.5K(FD):

Without Sabonis under the rim I have made it a point to target bigs against the Pacers and I’ve been largely successful doing that. For some reason though Bam hasn’t been playing up to form since the season reboot but I expect that to change tonight. With the games meaning something now I expect his minutes and usage to go up dramatically giving us the guy we remember from last December dropping 60 DK point almost any given night.

I’ll have a few props for my guys over at Thrive Fantasy once the bets go live later this morning so be on the lookout go check them out!

I like the over 19.5 points in the CP3 pettiest revenge game ever.

I fully expect Harden to not distribute the ball at all and to shoot 20 3-pointers without Westbrook on the court.
And finally, I see Dame continuing to carry Portland on his back tonight against the Lakers
