Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 5/9

For Mother’s Day, we have a six-game NBA GPP Picks 5/9 slate to dissect. Again, the storyline is tons of injuries with Lebron, Zion, Porzingis, and Brandon Ingram all ruled out already. Keep up with all NBA injury news in the Discord chat rooms. In there you can hang out with the WinDaily staff to further discuss our favorite play. Our highest total on the slate is projected to be Minnesota vs Orlando at 230 points. I think the four highest-priced players minus Vucevic are in play for this slate. Let’s get into more of today’s top plays!

In today’s article, I will be using DraftKings pricing to select my two top players at each position using a GPP/Tournament mindset.

Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 5/9

Point Guard
Eric Bledsoe – ($5,600)

Last time out without Zion or Ingram we saw Bledsoe attempt 20 shots with a 23.6% usage rate. When those two are off the court Bledsoe sees a 5.5% usage increase. The minutes have been there as he has played 33 or more in four straight and hasn’t recorded under 26 fantasy points in those games. A matchup against the Thunder is way better than one with the 76ers. Bledsoe should be able to score over 30 fantasy points again here.

Kira Lewis Jr. – ($3,400)
With Zion and Ingram, both missing the last game Lewis played 21 minutes on his way to 28 fantasy points. His usage rate for that game was 22.5%. The Thunder have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to point guards over the past ten games. They have also been the third-worst in defensive efficiency over that span. This price is cheap and he should play north of 20 minutes.

Shooting Guard
Terry Rozier – ($8,100)

In two of his last three games, Rozier has seen 39 minutes on the court. Tonight, the Hornets may be without point guard Devonta Graham. When you take Hayward and Graham off the court Rozier is averaging over a fantasy point per minute with a 27.3% usage rate. The matchup against a bottom ten defense and near top ten in pace team should mean a successful day for Rozier.

Rj Hampton – ($5,700)
The minutes are there for Hampton now as he’s seen 30 or more in four straight games and none of those games were worse than a 26.75-point fantasy outing. Over the last five games, Hampton Is averaging a usage rate of 23%. Facing the Wolves is a matchup to drool over as they rank third-worst in defensive rating and have played at the fifth-fastest pace this year. This game is the highest projected total so you may want pieces.

Small Forward
Anthony Edwards – ($8,300)

The Wolves rookie has now played 38 minutes or more in three straight games one of those games saw him score 66.5 fantasy points. He has been second on the team in usage over those three games at more than 28%. Orlando has ranked fifth-worst in team defense coming into this game. Edwards will play big minutes no matter the circumstance which makes him hard to overlook.

Ben McLemore – ($3,700)

We have Lebron and Schroder already ruled out with Kuzma and Horton-Tucker being questionable still. If both Kuzma and Horton-Tucker sit that will open up all sorts of minutes at the small forward position. McLemore has played at least 23 minutes in two straight games and shot nine times in both. We add Kuzma off the floor and McLemore should pay off this price easily.

Power Forward
Marvin Bagley – ($6,200)

Before the last game’s dud performance Bagley has led the team in usage for two straight games. With all these guys potentially out for the Kings again we could see another big game from Bagley. He has flashed his ceiling scoring over 40 fantasy points in two of his last four. An amazing matchup is waiting against the Thunder who has been the third-worst defense and have played at the third-fastest pace in the past ten games.

Center
Anthony Davis – ($10,300)

The Lakers need to win and we saw that with Davis playing 39 minutes last game leading to 61 fantasy points. A date with the Suns isn’t enticing but Davis will have a mismatch if Phoenix keeps their regular starting five. For this game, Lebron, Schroder, and Kyle Kuzma are out or doubtful. It has already been three straight games with usage above 35% for Davis and that should continue with those three players absent.

Mo Bamba – ($7,000)

It has been three straight games Bamba saw 29 or more minutes all three leading to above 43-point fantasy performances. A part of that is due to Carter Jr. Missing time so if he is out again fire up Bamba. The Wolves are the third-worst defense in the league this season and have given up the most fantasy points to centers. This is part of the projected highest total so you will want some shares.

Closing Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 5/9

Tonight’s NBA GPP Picks 5/9 is going to be a fun one to keep up with. We could see Detroit resting some players on the back end of a back-to-back. So don’t forget to join us in Discord chat to always be updated. The Wolves vs Magic and Pelicans vs Hornets will be my main two games to target for tonight’s slate. Enjoy your Mother’s Day and may your screen be green!
