After an amazing card to start off the year we are back in Abu-Dhabi for another Fight Night… but its in the morning, well you get the idea. We have an early slate today, starting at 9am EST so make sure to have your picks in! We have an thrilling card ahead of us with currently 14 scheduled fights to take place. The Main Event on this card will be one of the best battles we have seen in a long time.
Even though this main event seems underwhelming I will have 100% exposure to the Main Event. The Main Event is a five-round fight. The Main Event WILL NOT be featured as one of my top three plays (Top Value Play, Locked In-Play, or Top Scoring Play) but WILL be featured in my Honorable Mention category. My Main Event target will be a top play. Now let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Fight Island 8, Chiesa vs Magny.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):
Matt Schnell (+100) (DK 7800) (FD $18) vs. Tyson Nam (-138) (DK 8400) (FD $14).
Tyson Nam does have heavy hands but if Schnell can maintain his distance and avoid the big strikes of Nam, it’s Schnell’s fight to win. Schnell is also a huge submission threat and if this fight finds its way to the mat, Schnell will definitely be able to seal the deal. This is a close fight but unlike the bookies, I’m giving Schnell the edge here with the quickness and more well-rounded fight game.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Matt Schnell (+110) (DK 7800) (FD $14). UNANIMOUS DECISION.
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET:
Umar Nurmagomedov (-550) (DK 9500) (FD $20) vs. Sergey Morozov (+400) (DK 6700) (FD $10).
This is about as big of a lock as you can get. Umar’s BJJ needs some work before he can reach the stature of his older brother. But he implements the same techniques from Daegestan that Khabib made famous. This is Umar’s opportunity to make a name for himself and blaze his own trail in the UFC.
After watching Morozov’s tape, I am unconvinced that he’ll be able to handle Umar’s elite wrestling. Umar is also a very proficient kicker and will be able to use it to keep distance between him and Morozov. The bookies agree as he is the highest favorite of the card, and I am locking him into my lines for Wednesday morning.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Umar Nurmagomedov (-550) (DK 9500) (FD $20) SECOND-ROUND SUBMISSION.
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET:
Ricky Simon (-450) (DK 9400) (FD $16) vs. Gaetano Pirello (+350) (DK 6800) (FD $14).
To me the choice is clear here. Pirello isn’t a UFC calibre fighter as far as I’m concerned. On the other side of the octagon stands Ricky Simon, a seasoned UFC fighter who has wins over the likes of Montiel Jackson and Merab Dvalishvili.
This will be a quick night at the office for Ricky and the odds show as much. Simon is just so much more dominant than Pirello in everything that I’ve seen. Whether its stand-up or on the ground Simon will have no issues handling Pirello. Not to mention Simon has been prepping for a fight for months now and two cancellations vs Brian Kelleher has pushed Pirello into the replacement spot against Simon.

On Wednesday’s fourteen bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 20 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the three targets and my honorable mention fighters listed in my article to be a part of about 75 percent of my lineups. Some fights in this slate are tricky to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close
I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core fighters (Value, Locked-In, Top Scoring, Honorable Mention) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them using the available salary with the remainder of my predicted winners.
