Al’s Fight Night Deep Dive for UFC Vegas 65

UFC Vegas 65

LEWIS V SPIVAK

We’re back after a MASSIVE numbered card which saw two titles change hands and we were able to predict both of them in last week’s article! We are back in Vegas for tonight’s card and today’s action will kick off at 1:00 PM ET. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 12-fights that will end with a very important heavyweight fight as these two heavyweights will try to jockey for position in the UFC Top 10 rankings! Now, let’s get right into the action!

SLATE STARTS AT 1:00 PM ET

Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I may be branching away from the Main Event for some of my lines due to the possibility of low activity among these fighters. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Vegas 65 Lewis vs Spivak.

MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Andre Fialho vs Muslim Salikhov

This is the tale of two different outputs. Fialho lands more punches but also absorbs more damage whereas Salikhov throws less but also gets hit less than his opponents. The problem for Salikhov is that Fialho doesn’t need to connect too many times to get his opponent wobbling. Fialho is an extremely strong power puncher who already holds two First round KOs in his short UFC career. Even though this is a close matchup Fialho’s overall higher activity is making me lean more toward him but he will have to keep an eye on Salikhov’s grappling as I haven’t seen much from him on the ground but he was held down for almost a minute when he was taken down by Michel Pereira in his first UFC fight. In short, play with caution but I am definitely on the Fialho side of this fight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Andre Fialho SECOND-ROUND KO

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):

Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Chase Sherman

I was looking at Waldo’s name when I first looked at the card and realized, HE FOUGHT LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. Those who read the October 29th Article would remember that we had Cortes-Acosta winning by First Round KO and although it took all 15 minutes, the fight itself was very convincing in favour of Cortes-Acosta. Today he’s back to face the likes of Chase Sherman, who similarly to Vanderaa is on the lower end of the UFC skill ladder. This matchup was put together on short notice as Sherman was meant to fight Josh Parisien two weeks ago but I think this is a rise in competition that is too steep for Sherman. Both Sherman and Cortes-Acosta have similar SLpM rates however, Sherman absorbs nearly twice as much damage as Cortes-Acosta does. With the amount of power that Waldo packs in his punches, getting in the way of those is not a smart idea but I don’t think he’ll be able to avoid getting flattened out before the night is over.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Waldo Cortes-Acosta SECOND-ROUND KO.

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):

Jack Della Maddalena vs. Danny Roberts

Della Maddalena is one of the most savage up-and-comers I’ve seen in the UFC with his two appearances in the Octagon to date being brutal 1st round KO wins. Della Maddalena has a very powerful left hand and an insanely high strike rate at 8.24 SLpM. Roberts on the other hand has 3.13 SLpM, not even in the same ballpark. To his own credit, Roberts has been in the UFC for a while (since 2015), but he has never seemed to find any consistency, and it’s not likely to get much better with his matchup tonight. Not much else to say about this matchup, I’ll be taking Della Maddalena all the way tonight.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jack Della Maddalena FIRST-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

(Not in order)

Derrick Lewis (5 ROUNDER)

Ion Cutelaba

Zhalgas Zhumagulov

Maryna Moroz

Miles Johns (Vince Morales is playable on DFS as a DEEP GPP Play, I would lean slightly towards Johns in this matchup)

Ricky Turcios

Vanessa Demopoulos FADE

Brady Heistand

Natalia Silva FADE

SUMMARY:

On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 1 UFC Parlay(s). I will be focusing on the three targets and my honorable mention fighters listed in my article to be a part of 99.9 percent of my lineups. Some fights in this slate are tricky to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset as UFC fighters are the elite of the elite. I usually employ a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP-winning lineup.

I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core fighters (Locked-In, Honorable Mention) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them using the available salary with the remainder of my predicted winners. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK, and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
