UFC 279
DIAZ V FERGUSON
Welcome back everyone to Win Daily’s Fight Night Deep Dive! Last week the UFC had their first card ever in France and this week things have flown completely off the handle. Initially, the pre-card press conference was cancelled due to a backstage brawl and then a massive weight miss from Chimaev caused the whole main card to change! Looks like everything is ready to go for tonight’s card thankfully, so lets hope it goes off without a hitch Today’s slate will start at 6:00 PM ET. Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13-fights that will end with a fight between two legends of the game that we might not have been able to see if this crazy set of events never happened.! Let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 6:00 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I may be branching away from the Main Event for some of my lines due to the possibility of low activity among these fighters. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC 279 Diaz v Ferguson
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):
Irene Aldana vs. Macy Chiasson
This is an interesting matchup for Chiasson as she has passed through the ranks of the UFC’s core roster as is now facing off against the elite of Women’s MMA. Both women in this matchup are ranked 5th in their respective divisions with this fight taking place at a catch weight between their two divisions. This makes Chiasson the longer and taller fighter. Chiasson has decent power and a solid grappling game but will have to be smart and counter Aldana’s left hook. I think Chiasson can use her physical advantage to set the tone of the fight and can continually lay pressure on Aldana as the fight goes on. It is also very important to note that Aldana absorbs a lot of damage and that can give Chiasson the edge she needs to take control in tonight’s matchup. This is a close one but I really like Chiasson in the underdog spot here.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Macy Chiasson UNANIMOUS DECISION
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Khamzat Chimaev vs. Kevin Holland
Not going to spend too much time on this one. At this point Chimaev is a known quantity and even with the weight miss there is no doubt in my mind that he will get this done in impressive fashion. It might take a little longer since Holland has some fight but Holland’s poor fight IQ is enough to know that Chimaev should be very dominant in this matchup
MY UFC DFS PICK: Khamzat Chimaev FIRST-ROUND SUBMISSION (possible SECOND-ROUND DECISION).
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Jailton Almeida vs. Anton Turkalji
Turkalji is coming in on short notice after fighting on the Contender Series just over a month ago. Now he’s up against the strongest opponent of his career by a long shot. Jailton is a strong striker with some very strong grappling credentials under his belt. Unfortunately for Turkalji, I doubt he’ll last long enough to witness Jailton’s BJJ skills. There is a mismatch in ability here, I’m taking Almeida all the way.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Jailton Almeida FIRST-ROUND KO
UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:
(Not in order)
Tony Ferguson (5 ROUNDER)
Daniel Rodriguez
Ion Cutelaba
Hakeem Dawodu
Jamie Pickett
Jake Collier (This pick was hard to make because I really hate Collier, Barnett has a puncher’s chance, I wouldn’t hate him as a risky high-value underdog play on this card and this card alone)
Norma Dumont
Chad Anheliger
Melissa Martinez
Yohan Lainesse GPP
SUMMARY:
On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 3 UFC Parlays. I will be focusing on the three targets and my honorable mention fighters listed in my article to be a part of 99.9 percent of my lineups. Some fights in this slate are tricky to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset as UFC fighters are the elite of the elite. I usually employ a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup.
I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core fighters (Locked-In, Honorable Mention) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them using the available salary with the remainder of my predicted winners. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
