DAWSON V GREEN
After a week-long break, we are back with another action-packed Fight Night card in Las Vegas tonight! Today’s fights will kick off in Las Vegas at 4:00 PM ET!! Many rising stars will be looking to make an impact! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight, there will be 11 fights ending with a Lightweight fight between two surging talents looking to break into the top 5 of the division. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 4:00 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Vegas 80 Dawson vs Green.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):
Alex Morono vs Joaquin Buckley
This was a matchup I have been eyeing for a while. I think we are going to see a fight between an over-hyped fighter vs an underrated fighter. Buckley has been on a bit of a UFC train (has been a bit derailed) since his impressive KO against Impa Kasanganay, but his consistency is nowhere to be found, and he has dropped two of his last three fights. Morono on the other hand has shown some impressive ability throughout his UFC career. He has five wins in his last six fights with his only loss coming in a highly competitive war against Santiago Ponzinibbio. I think Morono will really surprise people in this fight, he will be able to fight in the pocket with Buckley, and I see his volume being too overwhelming for Buckley (SLpM 5.20). On top of that, Morono has the power to get that technical knockout punch as we saw in Morono’s fight against Donald Cerrone (in which he won Performance of the Night)
MY UFC DFS PICK: Alex Morono UNANIMOUS DECISION (possible THIRD-ROUND KO).
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Joe Pyfer vs. Abdul Razak Alhassan
This matchup has two strong middleweight strikers duking it out in the co-main event tonight, there are some clear indicators which make me favour Pyfer of Alhassan in this one. For starters, Pyfer’s has both a height and reach advantage, has a lower, Strikes Absorbed per Minute rate and a higher Strikes Landed per Minute rate. Not only that but Pyfer has shown an ability to change levels in the fight with good takedowns, and Alhassan has been unable to fully prove that he can push back against a wrestling attack. Although there is a chance that Pyfer gets a decision win here, I think the much more likely outcome is a knockout from Pyfer, and as the fight goes on, I think Pyfer will have a better opportunity to find the knockout (I can see Alhassan gassing out).
MY UFC DFS PICK: Joe Pyfer SECOND-ROUND KO (possible THIRD-ROUND KO).
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Drew Dober vs. Ricky Glenn
This is a bit of a mismatch in my opinion. Very recently Dober was in the top 10 of the Lightweight division and has since been able to bounce back from a tough loss to current champ Islam Makachev. Ricky Glenn in my opinion is simply not on the same level as Dober. Ricky Glenn’s last win was in 2021, and that is the least of Glenn’s lack of in-octagon activity. He has had three fights since 2018, has struggled with injuries and weight issues and is coming off a brutal first-round KO earlier this year. Furthermore, Also of note, Dober has a significantly higher strike volume than Glenn and will be able to overwhelm him early in this fight and set the pace of the fight until he fights the knockout. (NOTE: They were set up in an earlier matchup in 2022 with similar odds)
MY UFC DFS PICK: Drew Dober FIRST-ROUND KO (possible SECOND-ROUND KO)
UFC HONORABLE MENTIONS:

Bill Algeo
Ion Cutelaba
Karolina Kowalkiewicz
Mateus Mendonca (Don’t count out Nate Maness, he can surprise people)
Kanako Murata (By Decision)
