UFC Fight Night 225
HOLLOWAY V KOREAN ZOMBIE
This week we’re going across the globe to Kallang, Singapore for a BIG Fight Night card! Today’s fights will kick off at 5:00 AM ET!! There’s a lot of talent taking the octagon tonight with lots of superstars and top talents set to go on display. Many of these fights are shaping up to be absolute bangers! Read more below to find out my takes on tonight’s matchups! Tonight there will be 13 fights ending with two featherweight legends looking to make a new push for the title. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 5:00 AM ET
Exposure to the main event is recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event, as these fighters are both very active and can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Fight Night 225 Holloway vs Korean Zombie.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):
Yusaku Kinoshita vs Billy Goff
To start off the article, we’re taking a look at the third fight of the night, Kinoshita vs Goff. Both these guys are big heavy hitters and are coming into this fight with a lot of hype. Goff has won his last six fights and through those six, he has gotten five KO wins, including a first round knockout in the Contender Series last year. Goff has also had a very strong strength of schedule with some very well rounded opponents. Kinoshita had a disappointing debut in February of 2023 following a DWCS knockout win a few week’s after Goff’s appearance on the show but throughout his career he has managed to maintain a 100% finish rate in all his fights, win or lose. Now, Kinoshita is coming into this fight as a slight favourite and I am not in agreement with this. Goff has more activity and more power behind his shots which is making me lean more towards him over Kinoshita in this matchup. Either way, I see this one finishing inside the distance so for a parlay piece in this fight I would recommend taking under 2.5 rounds at -285.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Billy Goff SECOND ROUND KO.
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Josh Fremd vs. Jaime Pickett
I was honestly a little shocked when I saw this line come in. Here we have one of the best technical fighters in the Women’s flyweight division against a fighter who has decent fundamentals but is nowhere as polished. Santos was given a title shot after going 4-1 in the UFC and ultimately fell short against former champion Valentina Shevchenko. On the ground, both of these fighters are evenly matched but when it comes to striking, Blanchfield has a pretty noticeable edge in skill. She’s faster, more accurate and also lands way more punches than she takes. Blanchfield is going to look a step ahead while they’re standing and I would be surprised if this leads to a KO in the later rounds, but with the possibility of a decision very much on the table, I would recommend for Parlay purposes, to keep this one as a straight up bet on Blanchfield at -150, for DFS, she is pretty much a lock for me. After the dominant performance against Andrade, it is very hard to see this fight going any other way.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Erin Blanchfield SECOND-ROUND SUBMISSION (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION).
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Rinya Nakamura vs. Fernie Garcia
This fight is a wild matchup, the highly touted freestyle wrestler is appearing in his second UFC fight against a fighter who is 0-2 in his UFC career with back to back decision losses against Journey Newsome and Brady Heistand (not really the most impressive names to lose to, in fact Newsome’s lone win over his last five UFC fights was his win over Garcia). That is all to say that Fernie has not shown a good account of himself in the Octagon, he’s averaged more strikes absorbed than strikes landed (including his 2nd round win on the Contender Series) and has only managed a 60% takedown defence, compared to Nakamura’s 100%. Nakamura shined in his UFC debut earlier this year as he got a first round KO in just 33 seconds. Garcia is simply not at the same level as Nakamura, not even close… I would take Nakamura as a main DFS piece and would alternate between him and Max Holloway for the Captain slot. For parlays, I would look to take Nakamura to finish at -280 but I am also looking at Nakamura to win via KO in the 1st round at +145 as a small solo bet.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Rinya Nakamura FIRST-ROUND KO
