VOLKANOVSKI V TOPURIA
Welcome back, everyone! We are flying to sunny California this weekend for UFC 298, the latest UFC pay-per-view on the road to UFC 300! There will be a total of 12 fights with some great matchups throughout the card that will end with a fight for the UFC Featherweight championship. Now, with all that out of the way, let’s get right into the action!
SLATE STARTS AT 6:30 PM ET
Exposure to the main event is highly recommended. DFS production in these fights is usually high as they are five-round fights. I do not recommend branching away from the Main Event. These fighters are usually both active, and they can rack up a lot of points. There will be three top plays followed by honorable mentions. Now, let’s get ready to make some money!
Tonight, I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC 298 Volkanovski vs Topuria.
MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):
Junior Tafa vs Marcos Rogerio de Lima
Tafa is a late addition to tonight’s prelims as he replaces his injured brother, Justin Tafa. Now, usually, I would stay away from an extremely short-notice fighter like Tafa, but there are a few points of note which make me a little more comfortable in relying on him. He was already preparing for a fight next month, so even though it was a little earlier than expected, he was in a training camp. He clearly was helping his brother prepare for this fight, so everything Justin learned in his camp, Junior should have gained the same knowledge; finally, de Lima’s age is a big factor here. The almost 39-year-old de Lima is coming off of a wild flying knee knockout loss to Derrick Lewis last year, and who knows if he has fully recovered from the damage to his jaw. Tafa, on the other hand, is coming off of a big hellbow KO win last year. Considering all the factors here, I’d say getting Tafa in this spot as an underdog is a steal.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Junior Tafa SECOND-ROUND KO (possible UNANIMOUS DECISION)
MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET (CASH):
Rinya Nakamura vs Carlos Vera
For those who have read my article for a while, you’ll know how high I am on Rinya. Even though he didn’t secure the finish in his last fight, he still absolutely dominated his opponent for 15 minutes with nearly 10 minutes of control time throughout the fight; one judge even gave Nakamura a 10-8 round. His opponent, Vera, is making his UFC debut on short notice and hasn’t fought in over a year. These are not the circumstances where you’ll want to get in a fight with Nakamura; he is a dangerous fighter and given the discrepancy in skill level, I see this fight ending quickly.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Rinya Nakamura FIRST-ROUND KO (possible FIRST-ROUND SUBMISSION)
MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET (GPP):
Danny Barlow vs Josh Quinlan
In this matchup, we have a couple of heavy-hitting alumni from the Dana White Contender Series. Both got big knockout finishes to book their ticket to the UFC, and both have similar fighting styles where they will eat some shots in the pocket to find the knockout punch. Quinlan is coming off a loss in his second every UFC fight, and Barlow is making his UFC debut. Both fighters are very dangerous, but to me, Barlow has a clear advantage in speed, power and precision. As we saw in Quinlan’s last fight, his accuracy wasn’t great, with a below 50% strike-landed rate that got worse as the fight went on, with Quinlan landing at a 33% clip in the last round. That is a big difference when compared to the 57% strike landed rate that we saw out of Barlow in his Contender Series fight in what definitely was a much smaller sample size. Both fighters are coming into this fight with something to prove, and I see them coming out swinging early with an early finish from Barlow.
MY UFC DFS PICK: Danny Barlow FIRST-ROUND KO (possible SECOND-ROUND KO)

Ian Machado Garry

On Saturday’s fourteen-bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I am finally allowed to bet again on UFC as restrictions have now been lifted in my area. As such, I will play 2 Parlays. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat. GOOD LUCK, and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
