It’s a Sunday Funday here at Win Daily Sports. We’re back from the break and have come out swinging as I’m 2-0 with game bets since baseball resumed this week. We’ll look to keep that going today as we have a full slate of great MLB matchups.
Both Jared and I will be posting articles during the week and have a central focus on both MLB betting and DFS. Today is my turn and I will provide you a centralized focus on betting, props and DFS plays.
GAME BETS & PLAYER PROPS
PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES -120 at PITTSBURGH PIRATES
The Phillies are trying to avoid a sweep today in Pittsburgh. It would be their first time being swept all season. Which is why I’m backing the MLBs best team even with a rookie SP making his 2nd career start.
BALTIMORE ORIOLES -120 at TEXAS RANGERS
I don’t have time for a full write up but understand there’s some scar tissue here. The Os were dominated by Rangers SP Andrew Heaney two weeks ago on Sunday Night baseball. Revenge is on their mind today and I expect a better game plan and approach to hitting against Heaney. Plus the Os are going for the sweep!
DOG OF THE DAY: TBD
PLAYER PROPS
PROP #1 TBD
TBD
TBD
PLUS PROP OF THE DAY – TBD
We’ll often add a home run prop or something valued over +200 in this spot. For these bets, plan anywhere from 0.1 to 0.5 units.
DFS – 1:35PM SLATE
We’re looking at the 1:35pm slate today as that has the largest pool of games with 9.
Top Pitchers to Target:
SETH LUGO ($9700 DK):
Lugo is fresh off his first ever All Star appearance at the ripe age of 34. And it’s well deserved as he owns the 2nd most wins (11) and 3rd best ERA (2.48) in baseball. Today he gets to face the White Sox who have done White Sox things out of the 2nd half gate. Chicago has lost the first two games of their series with KC and have scored just 2 runs and batted just 0.205. Which makes this the best matchup on the board for a top arm.
MICHAEL KING ($9000 DK):
The Guardians offense has hit a wall of late. Over the past 2 weeks they are batting just 0.213 (28th) and have scored just 30 runs (26th). And they’ve been shutout three times in their last five games, including yesterday when Dylan Cease spun a gem. It won’t get easier today as Michael King comes into today’s game with a 1.79 ERA in the month of July. He also owns the best K/9 of any pitcher going today. Stack all those reasons up for why King is a prominent choice in my player pool today.
OTHER SP’S IN MY PLAYER POOL: KEVON GAUSMAN ($8800 DK), SPENCER SCHWELLENBACH ($8100 DK)
Value Pitchers to Target:
TYLER PHILLIPS ($7300 DK)
The Phillies rookie SP gets another start in the league’s best rotation as Phildelphia looks to give SPs Zack Wheeler and Ranger Suarez additional rest before gearing up fir a big 2nd half run. And what makes Phillips intriguing is his 31.6% K rate that he’s posted over his first two games. His opponent today could play nice with that rate as the Pirates have the 6th highest K rate in baseball at 24.6%. And they’re 26th in batting with a team average of just 0.233.
HONORABLE MENTION: DREW THORPE ($7100 DK), SHANE BAZ ($6900 DK)
Top Stacks to Target:
PHILLIES:
The Phillies lineup is fully healthy, as their final injured star returned yesterday in JT Realmito. While the offense sputtered against Luis Ortiz, tiday they get LHP Marco Gonzales who has just 1 start since April. I’ll look to get the big batters in my lineup like Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper, Trae Turner and Alec Bohm. And we’ll mix in some of the cheaper options like Johan Rojas and Weston Wilson.
ORIOLES:
Rangers SP Andeew Heaney shut down the Os offense two weeks ago. But to me, that was an aberration as the Orioles have the 2nd most HRs and 6th best batting average against LHPs. I’ll look for the 3 win pitcher to show up today and serve up some long balls to Baltimore. I’ll look to stack Adley Rutschman, Gunnar Henderson, Anthony Santander, and Jordan Westburg.
Other Stacks to Consider: NEW YORK METS, MINNESOTA TWINS
