10/25 NHL DFS Centers

Auston Matthews (FD $8,400 | DK $7,700) – With Tavares sidelined with a finger injury Matthews is set as the clear cut top center and will face off against the San Jose Sharks, who are on the second half of an away back to back, only two days removed from a flight with a three hour time difference, so jet lag has to set in.

Jack Hughes (FD $4,600 | DK $5,000) – This year’s first overall draft pick is finally getting his time to shine with an injury to top-line center Nico Hischier. Hughes is slotting in on the top pairing and the top power-play unit alongside superstar Taylor Hall. If Hischer returns to the top line Hughes loses a bit of value tonight.
Honorable Mention: Jack Eichel

10/25 NHL DFS Wingers

Victor Olofsson (FD $6,300 | DK $5,600) – The Swedish rookie has made quite an impression to start the season, absolutely lighting it up for the Sabres through 11 games. He has already posted six goals, all of which came on the man advantage, as well as three assists. Olofsson is also seeing top-line minutes and playing alongside top talent in Eichel and Reinhart. Given the small slate he’s a must have.

JT Miller (FD $5,800 | DK $6,100) – Miller is coming off a strong two-assist performance against the Red Wings’ last game and will get an opportunity to improve upon his record in his last five against a tired Washington side, which last night blew a 3-1 lead against the Edmonton Oilers. Miller has recorded five points in his last five games (3 goals, 2 assists)
HM: Tom Wilson, Nick Schmaltz

10/25 NHL DFS Defensemen

Jake Muzzin (FD $4,300 | DK $4,400) – Muzzin has been steadily averaging over 20 minutes of ice time a game and has posted four assists in his last four appearances. On top of that, he will play against the aforementioned tired San Jose side. As far as Leafs defensemen go Muzzin is a bargain.

John Carlson (FD $7,300 | DK $7,100) – Carlson has maintained his scoring touch but that comes with a price. Carlson has been in the upper echelon in terms of offensive defensemen and recorded another assist last night against the Oilers, extending his point streak to nine games, along with seeing 25 minutes of ice-time. He now has five goals and 13 assists through 12 games and has posted 29 shots and 25 blocked shots, truly a spectacular stat line. Given that he played last night, exercise caution but Carlson is the real deal, a true stud defenceman.
HM: Rasmus Ristolainen

10/25 NHL DFS Goalies

10/24 NHL DFS Goalies

Thomas Greiss (FD $7,700 | DK $8,100) – Greiss will enter the Canadian Tire Centre tonight with a two-game winning streak and give Ottawa’s abysmal offence, he figures to improve to a three-game winning streak. Ottawa ranks 5th worst in the league for goals, the bottom of the league in power-play conversion and 6th worst in shooting percentage. The Isles are sixth-best in the league and third-best on the slate in goals-against average.

Jacob Markstrom (FD $8,300 | DK $7,700) – Markstrom will be looking to extend his four-game winning streak tonight against the tired Capitals and despite the inherent risk with playing a goalie against the high flying Capitals top line, Markstrom has been scary consistent, allowing exactly two goals in each of his last five contests, with over 30 saves in his last four. Vancouver is tied for the lowest goals-against average in the league. Given the high volume of saves and the low number of goals against, Markstrom is a “safer” pick in goal tonight.
HM: Linus Ullmark

10/25 NHL DFS STACKS OF THE NIGHT

Toronto Maple Leafs 1 – The Sharks have been averaging 3.4 goals allowed per game and 32.4 shots per game. Aside from being tired after playing against the Canadiens last night the Sharks will be icing a goalie with a 3.46 GAA and a .894 Save Percentage along with a weak 2-4-1 record, with neither win coming on the road for an away record of 0-3. Given the Leafs are averaging 3.64 goals per game, this may not have been the homecoming Marleau is hoping for.
HM: New Jersey Devils 1, Buffalo Sabres 1

10/25 NHL DFS Game Stacks

Washington vs Vancouver – We’re going for the late game for today’s recommended game stack. Although, it doesn’t seem like a game stack is ideal for tonight’s slate this would probably be the best fit as both teams have potent and affordable offences and take a lot of shots.

10/25 NHL DFS Punts
Josh Bailey (FD $5,400 | DK $5,100) Bailey has been finding the back of the net as of late with two goals and two assists in his last three games. Along with playing on the Isles top line, the Winger also appears on the top power-play unit and last game played a whopping 19 minutes of ice time. Bailey’s usage figures to be rather low but against the Sens, he can be the spark plug the Isles need to walk away from this matchup with two points.

The Leafs allow a lot of shots to get past their defence, 33.7 to be exact, good for 5th worst in the league. Luckily for them steady Freddy has been just that stopping a vast majority of pucks coming his way. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Martin Jones and he may get peppered this game but I don’t see him having a strong performance against the Leafs. Take the over on saves for Andersen and the under on saves for Jones
