NASCAR DFS Pit Stop Rankings for Cup Series IMS

Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for the NASCAR Cup Series. Below you will find my rankings for the drivers in this race.

A Group: Drivers I will have the most exposure to and are high-priority

B Group: This group is drivers I feel have a high upside and are great filler pieces to pair with the A Group

C Group: The drivers in this tier are risky but could still be optimal. This group should be used in GPP’s

F Group: These drivers are on my do not play list

(Starting position in parenthesis)

Drivers highlighted in yellow are potential dominators

*** NOTES ***

  • This week the Cup Series is on the first week of back-to-back road course races. Since this is a road course, we are not worrying about dominator points. If you’ve been with us all season, you know how we play these races. If you are new to NASCAR DFS, for road courses we focus on potential finishing position and place differential.
  • While he hasn’t been having a great season, Austin Cindric does historically run well at road courses. In 12 career Cup Series road course races, Cindric has two top 5s and seven top 10s with an average finish of 13.8.
  • AJ Allmendinger is one of the all-time greats when it comes to road courses. On Sunday, he is starting near the back of the field. Allmendinger said they got the setup wrong for qualifying, which put them near the back. This car was top 10 in practice and should finish there at race end. I do expect Allmendinger to be popular, but he has the potential to be the highest-scoring driver in the field.
  • Chris Buescher is the only driver to finish top 10 in all of the previous six road course races. Buescher is coming off back-to-back wins at Richmond and Michigan and while three straight wins seem nearly impossible, another top 10 is not.
  • Nobody has been better at road course since the start of 2022 than Tyler Reddick. In the last six road courses, Reddick has won half of them and has five top 10s. Reddick also has the 2nd best avg finish (Buescher is first) and the third most DKFP per race (Buescher and Elliott).
  • Surprisingly, Ricky Stenhouse has been a good DFS play at road courses. In the last six races, Stenhouse has an avg finish of 14.2 and has the best avg +PD.
  • Christopher Bell is one of three drivers to win a road course race that Reddick hasn’t won in the past twelve months. Bell also has three top 10s in the last six races.
