1.) Colorado Rockies
We can say so many things about the journeyman Edwin Jackson, but the main thing to know is he is a gas can. Against right handed bats this season he is giving up a .387 average and a 44.4 percent hard hit rate. This doesn’t bode well for him vs. the two right-handed monsters of Nolan Arenado and Trevor Story. The main number I’m looking at though, is his strikeouts on the road. So far this season that sits at a 3.60 K/9. This means many balls will be put in play and with his 6.75 HR/9 I believe Story and Arenado both go deep here.
2.) Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers always seem to make my list, as they are always a low owned team because they always play late at home. Jake Arrieta is on the mound and I always like attacking him with lefties. Good news, the Dodgers have a ton of good ones. Against lefties this season he is giving up a .283 average and a 42.7% hard hit rate. With the likes of Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager and Max Muncy on this team, Arrieta might be in for a quick night in Los Angeles.
3.) Kansas City Royals
They get the Texas treatment in this one with a big stadium upgrade, as well as going up against Ariel Jurado. He is pretty reverse splits so far this season, giving up a .280 average to right-handed bats. This bodes well for Hunter Dozier, Whit Merrifield and Jorge Soler. I love this three stack and you can always round it out with Alex Gordon or Mondesi. What also is on the Royals favor is the 41.5% hard hit rate, I don’t expect anything less than fireworks here.
4.) Cleveland Indians
Man, one time they’re gonna pay off and I hope it’s tonight. They head over to take on the White Sox and a major gas can in Dylan Covey. He is worse against left-handed bats and the best three hitters on the Indians are all switch hitters (JoRam, Lindor and Santana) so that’s just perfect. Another perfect thing with Covey is that he doesn’t strike anyone out, with only a 2.61 K/9 at home. A lot of balls will be put in play and I don’t doubt we see the Indians clobber a trio of round trippers.
