Preseason NFL is all about finding players who will have guaranteed playing time and high usage on the field. Follow my position plays and lock in the NFL DFS Picks of Destiny for Friday.Note: All NFL DFS players are priced the exact same on both FanDuel and DraftKings.QuarterbackJoe Webb III (Houston Texans) This week the Houston Texans take on the Detroit Lions at home. Last week the Lions gave up over 300 yards in the air to Tom Brady’s two backups and lost 31-3. Look, all you really need to know is Webb played the ENTIRE game last week. He went 25-for-40 with 286 yards with one TD and two interceptions. There is no official word if Deshaun Watson will play but either way Webb is guaranteed to get at least three quarters. I am just locking him in for playing time alone. No other QB will have as much opportunity to put up fantasy points. He is going to have a safe floor and will not be the reason you lose this week. Let everyone else make the mistake of trying to get lucky with someone that costs the exact same in NFL DFS and has half the playing time.Drew Lock (Denver Broncos)In Week 1 Drew Lock logged significantly more playing time than any Broncos quarterback. He went 17-for-28 with 180 yards a touchdown and an interception. Joe Flacco is the regular season starter and played just one series the first week. I expect Lock to get another long look Monday vs. the 49ers defense. We are looking for playing time and opportunity in preseason NFL DFS and Lock has it.Josh Rosen (Miami Dolphins)The Dolphins play the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. Last week the Bucs gave up 30 points to the Mason Rudolph-led Pittsburgh Steelers. I like Rosen again this week for a lot of the same reasons as last week. He will be splitting time with Ryan Fitzpatrick and is trying to win the starter’s job. He will also be coming in second, meaning he gets the less experienced defense. In Week 1 Fitz went 2-for-5 with 20 yards while Rosen went 13-for-20 with 191 yards with one interception. Fitz should get a little more time than he did last week but I would still expect Rosen to outproduce him. I believe Rosen will be the starter for the Dolphins before the season is over. He needs to throw at least one TD vs the Bucs and get the momentum building. I like him again as a NFL DFS play this weekJarrett Stidham (New England Patriots)Tom Brady will not play. In Week 1, Jarrett Stidham went 14-for-24 with one touchdown against the Detroit Lions and his NFL DFS owners were rewarded. Coach Bill Belichick has seemed impressed with Stidham’s transition from college to NFL so far and should continue to evaluate him by giving him plenty of run again in Week 2. Stidham will continue to keep his foot on the gas to try and cement his position as the Patriots true second string QB over league vet Brian Hoyer. I watched a lot of Stidham at Auburn and he is the real deal. He legitimately has a chance to be Brady’s replacement (when he chooses to retire) if the Pats don’t trade him away..Dwyane Haskins (Washington Redskins)Dwayne Haskins will get a bump in playing time this week with Josh Woodrum tearing a pectoral muscle and Colt McCoy still unable to return. Haskins will be splitting time with Case Keenum. In Week 1 Haskins went 8-for-14, 117 yards and two interceptions vs. a pumped up Browns defense in Cleveland. Haskins should be able to get his team in the box at least once vs the Cincinnati Bengals, who just gave up 38 to the Kansas City Chiefs.Tight EndJoshua Perkins (Philadelphia Eagles)The Eagles are thin at TE. Zach Erts won’t see the field much, Dallas Goedert is out the rest of the preseason with a calf injury and Richard Rodgers is dealing with a foot issue. The only NFL DFS options left at TE are Joshua Perkins and Will Tye. Perkins has had a stellar camp and now has the perfect opportunity to bust out on a big stage.Dan Arnold (New Orleans Saints)Dan Arnold went 2-for-23 with a touchdown in Week 1. I remember last season hearing rumblings of his talent and how much Coach Sean Payton liked to try and find him opportunities. Well this preseason he is going to have opportunities to continue to prove himself. He is legitimately a player who can contribute on a weekly basis, however, the playing time just has not been there for him. As of now he is stuck behind Jared Cook and Josh Hill on the depth chart. Arnold will play with the third team offense and will have the most reliable hands on the field for the Saints. I am predicting lightning strikes here two weeks in a row.Ross Dwelley (San Francisco 49ers)Ross Dwelley is trying to fight off rookie Kaden Smith for the backup TE job behind George Kittle, with Garret Celek currently injured. Last week he had only one catch for 21 yards, however, he was only targeted once. Dwelley has the hands and the speed to get loose and take one to the house. He should also be the preferred TE target in the red zone. He is worth a NFL DFS GPP dart.Ricky Seals Jones (Arizona Cardinals) He will get plenty of time on the field behind a hobbled Charles Clay. Fellow WinDaily writer Andrew Erickson pointed out that he rant the third most routes of any player on the Cardinals last week. I like it.Defense Rankings:
- Ravens
- Jaguars
- Houston
- Carolina
- Denver
- Cardinals
