Monday 5/18 – Bayer Leverkusen at Werder Bremen
Only one more game remains on the schedule for the Bundesliga matchweek. It is a Monday showdown between Werder Breden and visiting Bayer Leverkusen. Bayer Leverkusen finished in the top four in the Bundesliga last season and qualified for this year’s Champion’s League. However, they were eliminated in the group stages.
Three of the Bundesliga’s top four teams “Bayern Munich, Dortmund, Gladbach” put up impressive wins this weekend. Leipzig’s draw against Frieburg has at least opened up some hope of a top four finish and return to Champion’s League. They are -150 favorites for this game.
Bayer Leverkusen
The Bayer Leverkusen attack should led by the duo of 20 year old sensation Kai Havertz and Karim Bellarabi on the wings with Lucas Alario filling in at striker. Lars Bender and Wendell will serve as the full backs with Charles Aranguiz as sort of a transitional midfielder, who will jump in attack on occasion. The Bayer defense has been good this season, operating with a back three of central defenders and goaltender Lucas Hradecky.
Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen should lose here and I would focus on Bayer Leverkusen. However, we do have some players to pick out. Milot Rashica is the set piece taker and only expensive Werder Bremen player. One of his attacking mates, striker Davie Selke, is cheap. That might be a reason though as it looks like he has been struggling for goals. In addition, fullback Theodore Gebre Selassie and fill in midfielder Nuri Sahin are also fairly cheap. Overall, this team has a lot of punts, with Rashica the only spend up.
