Welcome to the NASCAR DFS Pit Stop for Friday night’s Gander Truck Series race from Dover International Speedway. Dover is a 1 mile track that will give 200 laps of Truck Series racing Friday. We finally have a race that gives us some decent dominator points, so we will want to take advantage of that on Friday night.
NASCAR DFS: Dominators
Matt Crafton ($10,300)
Starting Position: 4th
Crafton is one of the best, and most experienced, drivers when it comes to Dover and he should fair well here Friday. Since 2016, Matt Crafton has finished in the top 10 in DK points in each race here at Dover. In his last 5 races here, Crafton has four top 5 finishes, including the win in 2016.
Brett Moffitt ($10,000)
Starting Position: 1st
Moffitt is on the pole for Friday’s race and should lead a bulk of the laps on Friday night. Last year Moffitt led 81 laps, but finished second after starting on the pole. Moffitt would still end up scoring over 82 DKFP in that race and I think he does something very similar Friday night
Other Options: Johnny Sauter ($10,600), Christian Eckes ($9,700)
NASCAR DFS: Mid Tier
Chandler Smith ($9,300)
Starting Position: 23rd
Chandler Smith will be once again hoping into the #51 KBM Toyota truck on Friday night for his first Dover race. Even though Smith hasn’t raced here, he has had success on similar tracks with two top 5 fishes in 3 races on 1 mile tracks. Whoever races the #51 is going to have good equipment and be able to challenge for the win, and I expect Smith to do that on Friday.
There are 4 drivers that really stand out to me in the mid tier just below Smith. Both Derek Kraus ($8,000 – P16) and Todd Gilliland ($8,900 – P17) offer place differential upside as I expect both to push for a top 10 finish here. Grant Enfinger ($8,400 ) and Ben Rhodes ($8,700) don’t offer the same place differential upside starting inside the top 10, but they can lead laps here and have win potential. Both Enfinger and Rhodes finished in the top 6 last year here, and were both in the top 5 in DraftKings points
Other Options: Sheldon Creed ($9,100), Zane Smith ($8,500)
NASCAR DFS: Value Tier Rankings
With the way the starting positions turned out this week there is not a ton of value for this race, so we have to hope the little amount we have works out for us.
- Sam Mayer – $5,600 – P26
- Bayley Currey – $6,900 – P28
- Ty Majeski – $7,500 – P21
- Carson Hocevar – $5,100 – P20
- Raphael Lessard – $7,300 – P5
- Timmy Hill – $6,400 – P30
