JT’s DFS Picks for UFC Fight Night (Sept. 5)

UFC FIGHT NIGHT.

Overeem Vs. Sakai

Another week has gone by, and another UFC fight card is here! Tonight we will target some of my best and favorite targets for both Daily Fantasy Sports and Sports Betting picks. After having fight cards with ten, eleven, and twelve fights, we are now graced with a card that is currently down to nine contests, but they are nine action-packed, finish friendly fights.

In my UFC DFS lineups, I will have 100% exposure to the Main Event. The Main Event is a five-round fight. The Main Event WILL NOT be featured as one of my top three plays (Top Value Play, Locked In-Play, or Top Scoring Play) but WILL be featured in my Honorable Mention category. My Main Event target will be a top play. Now let’s get ready to make some money!

Tonight I’m here to give you my top three favorite DFS and Sports betting picks for UFC Fight Night Overeem vs. Sakai.

Win Daily Sports is committed to bringing its members and subscribers fresh content daily for as long as the professional sports leagues remain on hiatus. MY UFC VALUE TARGET (CASH&GPP):

Jalin “The Tarantula” Turner (+120) (DK 7200) (FD $14) vs. Thiago Moises (-150) (DK 9000) (FD $20).

Jalin Turner is coming into this fight with a nice chip on his shoulder, after showing the world that he belongs in the UFC with a dominating win over Joshua Culibao. He ended midway through the second round. Turner is known for his devastating power and persistence. One thing that you do not have to worry about with Turner is his cardio. He will move and move until his opponent has nowhere to go, then he will land dynamic combos and go for takedowns. Jalin is holding a nasty streak of finishes in his wins. His record has nine wins and five losses, but in every one of his victories in his entire career has come by way of stoppage, whether it be KO, TKO, or Submission.

Thiago Moises is on the same level Turner with his wins via stoppage. The majority of his thirteen wins in his career have come via either submission or TKO. Moises is a favorite here and with good reason. He has the ability to take down any opponent and stuff any takedown attempt by his opponent. Even though Moises does have decent power, he will have to rely on his ground game to beat Turner. Turner has pretty good takedown defense and should give Thiago a lot of trouble. I believe that Jalin Turner is going to take this fight to a decision and pull out the win in a close matchup. Possibly even a third-round finish.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Jalin “The Tarantula” Turner (+120) (DK 7200) (FD $14). DECISION

MY UFC LOCKED-IN TARGET:

Brian Kelleher (-220) (DK 9200) (FD $18) vs. Kevin Natividad (+180) (DK 7000) (FD $12).

Brian Kelleher is nothing short of an absolute beast. He is a well-rounded fighter that is good in just about any situation. His last fight versus Cody Stamann was an excellent effort, where he came up short. Before the battle with Stamann, he looked like an unstoppable force, destroying his previous two opponents by Guillotine Choke and the other with a nasty left hook followed by many hammer fists. Brian has been put it just about every situation and is now in a spot facing Natividad, who is debuting for the first time in the UFC.

Kevin Natividad is making his UFC debut after posting nine wins and one loss in his professional career. Throughout his career, he has taken full advantage of the fact that he was under matched and slaughtered a lot of his competition, except for one fight in which he lost by way of knock out. The sub-par opponents he has faced is going to haunt him in this fight versus Kelleher. This is by far the most challenging test Kevin has faced in his career, and I’m pretty confident that he takes his first UFC loss in his first UFC fight. Kelleher should come in, giving him more than he can handle and walk away the victor after a first-round knockout.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Brian Kelleher (-220) (DK 9200) (FD $18) FIRST-ROUND KO

MY UFC TOP SCORING TARGET:

Alexander “King Kong” Romanov (-145) (DK 8400) (FD $17) vs. Rogerio de Lima (+115) (DK 7800) (FD $17).

We are going to have an exciting fight here. Alexander Romanov is an absolute force to be reckoned with. He is making his debut after running up a perfect professional record of eleven wins and no losses. They don’t call him King Kong for nothing. Romanov has a perfect record that includes finishing every single one of his opponents by KO or submission. Eight out of his eleven victories have come in the first round of the matchup. Usually, with a first-round KO artist, you worry about cardio. He has also taken three of his fights into the third round and finished his opponent there too. King Kong is now facing off against a veteran of the UFC.

The Veteran is none other than Marcos Rogerio De Lima. Marcos is rolling into the jungle with a record of 17-6-1. He has been around the block, and I believe he will feel like he was hit by one after this fight. Marcos’s chin is suspect, to say the least, and he has been finished in his last four losses. He will need everything in his arsenal to beat Romanov here, and I don’t think he can do it. King Kong should KO Rogerio De Lima in the first round without any problem.

MY UFC DFS PICK: Alexander “King Kong” Romanov (-145) (DK 8400) (FD $17). FIRST-ROUND KO.

UFC HONORABLE MENTION:

Alonzo Menifield (-130) (DK 8300) (FD $18)
(Additional top play)

Bartosz Fabinski (-165) (DK 8600) (FD $18)

Michel Pereira (-120) (DK 8200) (FD $17)

(GPP Only) Augusto Sakai (+135) (DK 7400) (FD $19)
(Fanduel salary is very inflated)
(Value play on DK, not on FD)

SUMMARY:

On Saturday’s NINE bout MMA UFC DFS slate, I will be building 10 GPP lineups. I will be focusing on the three targets and my honorable mention fighters listed in my article to be a part of about 75 percent of my lineups. Always remember the more rounds in a fight, the higher the fantasy score could be. This slate is very tough to predict a winner and all fights are pretty close in skillset. I will use a hedging technique on the fights that are closer in odds. I’m focusing on building a GPP winning lineup.

I’m building lineups that can variate from the field and taking bigger risks tonight. I will use my core fighters (Value, Locked-In, Top Scoring, Honorable Mention) to be a staple in my DFS lineups, and I will build around them using the available salary with the remainder of my predicted winners. Remember, to take down a GPP; you have to be different and take risks. Scared money doesn’t make money in tournaments. For any further questions, I will be available until lock in our WinDaily Discord chat or you can find me on Twitter @JThomsonDFS. GOOD LUCK and don’t forget to come back and Win Daily!
