NBA Picks: Expert Roundtable for Tuesday, January 19

After a full day of NBA DFS on Monday, the Association only has two games for us on this Tuesday and with an abbreviated slate in mind, the team here at Win Daily Sports is going to break our NBA Picks down a little differently for you all with an Expert Roundtable as we break down the Thunder/Nuggets and Jazz/Pelicans.

With Super Bowl 55 just a few weeks away, we are rolling out a SUPER promo to join the Win Daily Sports family as you can get a month pass of our All-Sports Gold Membership for 55% off!

NBA Picks – Tuesday Night Expert Roundtable

Here at Win Daily Sports – our goal is to make our NBA DFS experts available via daily articles, cheat sheets and 1 on 1 coaching in Discord but sometimes you need a one-stop-shop for your NBA Picks – you want to know what our crew is thinking and how they are going to attack a slate.

So welcome to the Expert Roundtable where our NBA DFS experts are here to give you insight into how they are attacking the slate’s biggest questions!

Today around the table we have:

  • @2LockSports – Brian Tulloch – Author of Picks and Pivots
  • @Bucn4Life – Adam Strangis – Author of the Cash Game Breakdown
  • @DFS_Ghost – Nick Di Tommaso – Author of Ghost’s Gems

Question 1: “Which approach are you taking when building a single lineup? Stars & Scrubs, Balanced, Game stack, etc.?”

2Lock: I am going to plant my flag on this slate and game stack – rather than try and pick the one-off’s from each game, anchor to one game and hope the other flops. With Nikola Jokic a absolute must play, that leads me to a game stack of the Nuggets/Thunder.

Ghost: I’ll start every one of my builds with Nikola Jokic and pair him with 2-3 mid-range targets in Eric Bledsoe, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, and Jamal Murray, to name a few.

Adam: If we don’t get any news that would throw us off, it might have to be a bit more balanced than I normally shoot for. With only four teams to pick from, value could wind up being pretty scarce.

Question 2: “Which stud is a lock for you on this slate?”

2Lock: Nikola Jokic should be 100% owned on this two game slate. He won’t be because, say it with me, PEOPLE ALWAYS GET CUTE!

Ghost: If you don’t play Nikola Jokic tonight, I can’t trust you.

Adam: I’m the Nikola Jokic guy on a big slate, let alone a two gamer.

Question 3: “Which stud are you most likely to fade in a single-entry contest or be underweight on in 150-max?”

2Lock: The “studs” for New Orleans. With Lonzo Ball likely back for the Pelicans it crushes the value of NAW, and now takes away usage from Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson who all seemed priced far too high considering the Pels are now back to full strength.

Ghost: Zion Williamson + Brandon Ingram

Adam: Donovan Mitchell

Question 4: “If you had to pick one star and one value play to be in the winning lineup, who would they be and why?”

2Lock: It all starts with Joker – but for the value play, I will go with Mike Muscala ($3.4K). Isaiah Roby will draw the start with Al Horford sidelined but this is a match-up that could lead to limited run as Roby, coming off a game in which he fouled out against the Bulls front court, could struggle with fouls and push Muscala in a girth for girth match-up with Big Honey.

Ghost: Nikola Jokic – while a blowout is certainly in play, I never build lineups based on uncontrollable elements of the game and the raw points upside is too good to pass up on. PJ Dozier – insert Snoop Dogg “WHOOOO?” gif here; Dozier slots in nicely at a terrible SF position on DK tonight at a mere $3,900 and has seen 23 or more minutes in three straight, cementing his role off the bench for the Nuggets.

Adam: Joker and Lou Dort. Jokic has a glorious spot against a Thunder team that’s missing Al Horford and on the flip side, OKC will run Dort as much as they can for his defense. However, Dort is not shy about shooting as he took 11 three’s last game. Denver gives up the fifth-highest percent from deep. If the Thunder deploy him on Jamal Murray like they did James Harden in the bubble, he should fall into some production.

Question 5: “Give us a hot take for the Tuesday Night’s slate.”

2Lock: More than 20% of people will think they are smarter than the field and will fade Nikola Jokic on a two game slate.

Ghost: PJ Dozier finishes the slate as a Top-3 Point/$ option; Lonzo Ball heads to the bench after tonight’s performance in favor of a Bledsoe/Alexander-Walker backcourt in the near future.

Adam: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jokic each score 30+ real points.
