For NBA GPP Picks 3/27 we will have a nine-game slate to breakdown. It is going to be an important slate to check out Discord Chat due to all the injuries and questionable tags due to trades. The notables on this list include Luka, Bradley Beal, Kawhi Leonard, Zach Lavine, and Collin Sexton are all questionable. Another status up in the air is Kristaps Porzingis after playing 38 minutes last night.
A lot of things will change during the day so be sure to check all news and who is playing on their new team. Our WinDaily family will keep you updated on all the top plays for the slate in Discord. Let’s jump into this injury-riddled nine-game slate for NBA GPP Picks 3/27 slate.
This article will consist of my top two plays at each position for tonight’s nine-game NBA slate. I am specifically looking for GPP/Tournament plays for today’s slate. I will be using DraftKings pricing throughout.
Bombcarlo’s NBA GPP Picks 3/27
Point Guard
Russell Westbrook – ($11,000)
A major thing to watch here is the status of Bradley Beal. If we take Beal and the other Wizards that are out off the floor Westbrook sees an 11.4% usage increase. That brings his usage to a massive 43%. During that time, he is averaging 1.5 fantasy points per minute. A matchup against Detroit isn’t a spot that scares me if Beal is out and Westy dominates the usage.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker – ($5,300)
In the three games without Lonzo Ball, Alexander-Walker hasn’t seen below 31 minutes and saw a whooping 39 minutes last game. In those three games, he is averaging 14 shots per game while recording no fewer than 32.25 fantasy points. With Ball off the floor, Walker has seen the most minutes on the team and is averaging just under a fantasy point per minute. The minutes should be there again and we shouldn’t be afraid to fire him up.
Shooting Guard
Reggie Jackson – ($4,700)
Last time out when several Clippers were absent Jackson was second on the team in usage behind Paul George. That game saw Jackson record 39 minutes while scoring over 40 fantasy points. With Morris and Leonard remaining questionable and Lou Williams being traded the minutes and usage could be there again. If Leonard and Morris are off the floor Jackson sees a 6.5% usage increase. You’re going to have to keep up with the news during the day with this selection.
Ben McLemore – ($3,200)
This Rockets team could be thin and Wall may potentially sit to add to that. He had a massive game against the wolves shooting 14 three-pointers. Playing 36 minutes led McLemore to 33.75 fantasy points last evening. A 20% usage rate in three straight games for this price is tough to pass up. Over the last ten games, the wolves have been third fastest in pace and third-worst defensive rating.
Small Forward
Luka Doncic – ($10,800)
It sounds like Luka should be able to return from his back injury tonight. However, it also appears Porzingis could sit out this game. When Luka is without Porzingis, he averages a 37% usage rate and is averaging 1.5 fantasy points per minute. The matchup is great against the third-worst defense in the league and Luka already tore the Pelicans for over 80 fantasy points this season.
Garrison Mathews – ($3,100)
In two of his last three games, Mathews has logged over 30 minutes. One of those games saw Mathews record a season-high 35 minutes in route to 27 fantasy points. Now Beal may miss this game which should solidify the minutes for Mathews. If he is going to play more than 30 minutes it will be hard to ignore him near minimum price.
Power Forward
Jayson Tatum – ($8,400)
Kemba has yet to play in a back-to-back and I haven’t heard that will change. When Kemba, Thies, and Thompson are off the floor, Tatum sees over a 5% usage increase to a 35.4% usage rate. In that time, Tatum falls just shy of recording 1.4 fantasy points per minute. We haven’t seen Tatum at this price in well over a month making this price a solid bargain especially if Walker is ruled out.
DeMar DeRozan- ($7,900)
In the past two games without Walker, DeMar is averaging a 39% usage rate. This is another case of a player that is at his lowest salary in a month and a half. He isn’t in an awful matchup either as the Bulls rank eighth fastest. With all the new pieces for the Bulls, it may take a game or two to get the defense right. A 50-point ceiling game against the Bulls at a reduced price isn’t out of the question here.
Center
Karl-Anthony Towns – ($9,700)
Over the past five games AKA since Christian Wood came back Houston is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to centers. The great news for Towns is that he shot over 20 times in four of five games. Two of those games saw Towns go for over 60 fantasy points including last night’s game against Houston. The Rockets rank in the top ten in pace and the bottom ten in defensive rating over the past ten games. Even though Malik is coming back Towns should still see plenty of opportunities.
Kelly Olynyk – ($3,500)
Nothing here is certain but I believe that Olynyk should see playing time if he is given the green light. We have just seen Olynyk above 6K so he can easily pay off this price tag given the court time. It wouldn’t shock me if Olynyk went for 8-10x his salary here especially in a wonderful spot against this Wolves squad.
