NHL Betting Picks Friday 5/7
Welcome to Keith’s NHL Betting Picks Friday 5/7. Back-to-back great nights for The Model, going 3-1 last night. The Bruins -1.5 and the Blackhawks +1.5 both at plus money hit with ease, with the Blackhawks winning outright in OT and the Bruins cruising 4-0 over the Rangers. The late add of the Habs/Leafs over was an easy hit too as there were 4 goals in the first and a 5-2 win for the Leafs cashed that. The only L was the Oilers team total over 3.5 as they lost 6-3 to the Canucks. I debated taking the game over and ultimately rode with the Oilers team over. What a schmuck I am. Still up 3u on the day so we will take that. On to Friday
We have 7 games on the NHL slate tonight. Let’s take a look at the updated profitability and over win percentages for the teams playing today.

Keep an eye out for Starting Goalies tonight. If we get Grubauer I am going to ride the Avs -1.5, however I am waiting for that confirmation as it is not worth the risk if we get one of Colorado’s backups instead.
My Picks
Capitals/Flyers Over 6 (-125): The two highest over teams on the season and we were able to find an over 6 line. Love that. You can find 6.5 at slightly above even (around +102), but just to be safe I am riding the 6 number tonight with Ovechkin probably out. Even with him out I still think these teams put up some goals. The Flyers defense/goaltending has been atrocious all season (3.68 GA/game). The Caps also sport an elite offense averaging 3.5 GF/game. On the flip side both the Flyers and Caps have pretty average offense and defense, respectively. Both teams are well over 50% on their over win percentages this year and we are riding some goals tonight.
Wild -1.5 (-112): Minnesota is one of the best puck line teams this season while Anaheim is one of the worst. Minnesota is basically locked into the 3-seed at this point for the playoffs and looks like a matchup with Colorado in the first round is likely. The good news is they still have 4 games left, including 2 against St. Louis who also have essentially clinched their 4-seed. I don’t foresee Minny resting players and going on cruise control until maybe the last game or 2. Anaheim has been dead for a while and although they did beat St. Louis on Wednesday, I think Minnesota pushes the gas tonight and covers the puck line tonight.
