Welcome the NHL DFS Man Advantage for a Monday night. It’s another small Monday night and I personally love these slates. A four-game slate, like Monday’s, is nice and manageable, unlike the behemoth that awaits on Tuesdays typically. This is a slate that might be filled with chalk because we have two teams that just pop off the screen as obvious plays. Boston is in Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets and the B’s have scored no less than four goals in their last four games. Included in that stretch is an eight-goal game against New Jersey and five against this Blue Jackets team on Saturday.
St. Louis plays host to Arizona on Monday in what should lead to them being the other popular team on this slate. Similar to Boston, St. Louis has scored no less than four goals in any of their last games, but what is different with the Blues is the fact they are allowing goals as well. St. Louis is 3-0-1 in their last, but they have allowed 14 goals in those games so I think Arizona may have some value on Monday.
As for the remaining two games, they feature potential playoff matchups in Toronto at Tampa Bay and Calgary at Los Angeles. The last time Tampa and Toronot met it was an eight goal affair and this one shouldn’t be much different. As for the night cap, both the Flames and Kings have good goaltending and this one could be a low scoring affair.

NHL DFS: Goalies
Linus Ullmark vs Columbus
Ullmark has quietly had a solid season for the Bruins and as the season winds down he is making a case to be their #1 goalie in the playoffs. Considering his matchup, Ullmark isn’t overly expensive on DK ($8.2k) and is 4-0-1 in his last five starts but is only averaging 24 saves per game. I would be the first one to look elsewhere when Ullmark has been in this season, so if I think he is the top play, there must be something there.
I don’t really have a great feeling about the rest of the goalies on this slate. All three of Jacob Markstrom, Andrei Vasilevskiy, and Ville Husso are the best goalies in real life on the slate tonight but I don’t love their matchups. I think on such a small slate going with Cal Petterson or Jack Campbell could be an interesting way to go for GPP’s.

As I mentioned in the open, Boston and St. Louis are in the best spots on Monday, but I do prefer to build around one of those teams.
Boston Bruins Line 2 (Hall – Haula – Pastrnak)
While the Bruins top line of Marchand/Bergeron/DeBrusk has been equally as productive in recent games, I prefer to go with the B’s second line. Erik Haula comes in with points in five of last six games including goals in back-to-back games and 10 points total in this current stretch. Haula is cheap considering the upside he is a great piece to offset the cost of David Pastrnak. In his last five games, Pasta has 10 points (five goals, five assists) and is averaging 5.2 shots on goal per game. His price tag is high ($8K+ on both sites) but I am willing to pay up and make builds work around him and this line on Monday. Hall is no slouch either with seven points in his last five games including three goals. Boston has inexpensive defensemen that are solid plays on this slate. Hampus Lindholm has been excellent since being acquired by the Bruins before the trade deadline, Brandon Carlo is another cheap dman that has been racking up the ancillary points lately.
Los Angeles Line 1 (Iafallo – Kopitar – Kempe)
I think Boston L2 could carry some ownership, so to counter that possibility I want to pair them with the Kings first line. Between Boston, Toronto, St. Louis, Calgary, and Tampa there is a good chance nobody plays the Kings. Anze Kopitar has seven points over the Kings last seven games including three multi-point games. Adrian Kempe has eight points in the last seven, including points in four of the last five and is averaging over three shots on goal per game. On defense, Sean Durzi has been an aberration for the Kings with Drew Doughty out. Durzi has five points in the last six, but he also has 14 shots on goal and 20 blocked shots. For his salary, Durzi is producing above and beyond. If you need super cheap dmen, both Troy Stecher and Alexander Edler are min price on DK. Stecher is the anicallary point guy, meanwhile Edler has four points in his last five.

St. Louis Blues L3 (value): Barbashev – Schenn – Toropchenko
Tampa Bay Lightning L1: Stamko – Point – Kucherov / Dmen: Hedman, Cernak, Sergachev
Tampa Bay Lightning L3 (value): Hagel – Paul – Colton
Toronto Maple Leafs L1: Buntin – Matthews – Marner / Dmen: Rielly, Giordano, Liljegren
