We are going to start by breaking down the four-game LPL LCK DFS slate scheduled to go off at 4 am Eastern standard time on. The DraftKings and FanDuel slates lock at 4 am SHARP. The slate is four best of three-game series combining games from the LPL and LCK (Chinese and Korean League). I will be giving a short and to the point breakdown of each match.
At the later stage of my article, I will have a list of my favorite captain’s/stars in order of preference. This article is for both Draftkings and FanDuel.
MATCH ONE: LCK SUMMER SPLIT
MATCH ONE (LCK): DAMWON GAMING (DWG) (-850) VS. HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS (HLE) (+450).
LCK PROJECTED STARTERS:
DWG is returning to another match after giving T1, a top tier LCK team a beatdown. DWG looks like they are clicking on all cylinders at the moment. In my opinion, they should have an undefeated record right now, but unfortunately, they do not. DWG started the season with two wins in a row and were then edged out by GEN, in what could have honestly gone either way. After the loss to GEN, the great play continued without missing a beat.
HLE is an awful team; they are off to a rough start with five straight losses. DO NOT expect HLE to come out of this game as the victors. Viper is literally the only good player on this roster, but it takes more than one player to beat an elite team.
I will have 80% of my stacks of this game on the side of DWG, and just in case they catch lightning in a bottle, I will have 20% of HLE stacks.
MY LCK DFS PICK: DAMWON GAMING (DWG) (-850).
MATCH TWO: LPL SUMMER SPLIT.
MATCH TWO (LPL): ROGUE WARRIORS (RW) (+285) VS. EDWARD GAMING (EDG) (-450).
CONFIRMED STARTERS:
Let me guess; you think this matchup is EDG, right? Well, so do I. RW has had the toughest schedule out of any team in the LPL, in my opinion, playing four out of their six matches against top teams, but with all things considered, they still have not been producing.
EDG has been struggling as of late, but maybe that was because they didn’t have their superstar bot laner in Hope.
I’m here to tell you that THE LOSING ENDS NOW! HOPE IS BACK! EDG is an entirely different team with Hope on it. Even though one player does not make the team, that one player can be the glue that holds everything together, and without him, you fall apart. I believe that is what happened to EDG, and they get back to the winning side tonight.
My stack exposure is 70% EDG and 30% RW.
MY LPL DFS PICK: EDWARD GAMING (EDG) (-450).
MATCH THREE: LCK SUMMER SPLIT.
MATCH THREE (LCK): TEAM DYNAMICS (DYN) (-300) VS. SANDBOX GAMING (SB) (+210).
LCK PROJECTED STARTERS:
Team Dynamics is the new team in the LCK, and to be honest, even in losses, they have impressed me. DYN has shown signs of a future elite squad. They know when they need to farm and when they need to engage. The problem with DYN, when they play top opponents, is that they make minor mistakes and sometimes jump the gun on neutral objectives. When they jump the gun, they put themselves into awkward situations and have to avoid being killed.
Even though they are hyper-aggressive, it is not always a good idea to push forward every second. Fortunately, for DYN, tonight, they are facing a bottom tier team and should obliterate them. SB is another winless team with communication problems. I do not expect them to be a winner tonight.
In this matchup, I LOVE DYN, probably my favorite stack on tonights LOL DFS slate. I will have 90% DYN and a measly 10% of SB (for comfort purposes only).
MY LCK DFS PICK: TEAM DYNAMICS (DYN) (-300).
MATCH FOUR: LPL SUMMER SPLIT.
MATCH FOUR (LPL): INVICTUS GAMING (IG) (+105) VS. JD GAMING (JDG) (-145).
CONFIRMED STARTERS:
This matchup scares me a bit. JDG is a monster team when they want to be. The keyword is when. They have taken losses to RNG and TES, but that is excusable. When I watch them play, they make many mistakes. In their last two wins, they were taken to the third game by WE and RW. Fortunately for them, they ended up winning the third game. This could be a tough task for JDG.
IG has been previously known as the LPL powerhouse. If you played IG, you were losing; it was that simple. It is not that simple now. One simple thing is the fact that IG has brought every team in their last four games into a third game, winning three of them. IG is a well established and focused team. If they see any mistakes, they will destroy their opponent. This matchup is a true coinflip.
I am going with my gut on this one. MY exposure to this matchup will be 60% IG and 40% JDG. YES, im picking IG to win.
MY LPL DFS PICK: INVICTUS GAMING (IG) (+105).
FAVORITE CAPTAINS / STARS:
HOPE (EDG) (ADC)
KUZAN (DYN) (MID)
GHOST (DWG) (ADC)
SHOWMAKER (DWG) (MID)
SCOUT (EDG) (MID)
ROOKIE (IG) (MID)
LOKEN (JDG) (ADC)
DEOKDAM (DYN) (ADC)
LOKEN (JDG) (ADC)
YAGAO (JDG) (MID)
SLATE SUMMARY: LPL LCK SUMMER SPLIT
I will be building twenty ESPORTS DFS lineups. My exposure in my LOL DFS lineups will consist of 90% DYN, 80% DWG, 70% EDG, 60% IG, 40% JDG, 30% RW, 20% HLE, and 10% SB. All of my stacks will be four/three. I will prioritize using ADC and MID in my captain spot. Any lineup that I can not use ADC or MID because of salary requirements, I will be using JNG. If by chance, JNG does not fit and ONLY if I can not fit the three prior positions, I will use a TOP or SUP in my captain spot. My main focus is trying to build lineups using my favorite captain/star for each individual team stack.
