6/11 La Liga Showdown
There is about to be a ton of La Liga with games for eight straight days starting on Thursday. We begin with a showdown rivalry matchup, “The Seville Derby”, between Real Betis and Sevilla.
Both teams had been hot prior to the break but Real Betis has been woeful on the road this season. That’s not to say they don’t have some useful players. However, if stacking, the Sevilla side makes more sense.
Sevilla is all the way up at 3rd in La Liga, below only Barcelona and Real Madrid. Even with the home crowd missing, they should be able to handle business. This Real Betis team sold off a lot of talent last year and just isn’t the same now.
6/11 La Liga Best Bet
Real Betis (+300) at Sevilla (-115) – Over 2.5 Goals (-120) – 2:00 PM ET – Thursday 6/11 – *SEVILLA or Over 2.5 Goals*
The Betting Game Plan
Both of these teams have some solid weapons as listed below. However, in a rivalry game like this, as mentioned above, I will side with the better team in Sevilla. The over bet on the 2.5 goals makes sense as well. The expectation for me is closer to a four total.
6/11 DraftKings Point Per Dollar Rankings
- 1. Ever Banega – Sevilla – $9,600 – CASH CORE – With Sevilla a decent favorite, it makes sense to begin with their set piece taker. Aside from the two games he did not play a full 90 minutes he has shown a solid floor. I don’t think he’s necessary for tournaments as his price is high and goal scoring upside is limited, but he makes sense in cash.
- 2. Nabil Fekir – Real Betis – $10,600 – More attention will go towards the favored Sevilla side but the former Lyon man, Fekir, is still a stud. His overall skill set gives him the highest overall floor on the slate. I’m all for it in tournaments and probably less judgmental than most if you want to use him in cash.
- 3. Sergio Canales – Real Betis – $8,000 – Canales has been active in his own right and makes for a great pairing with Fekir in a contrarian tournament stack or standalone play.
- 4. Suso – Sevilla – $10,000 – Suso, who came over on loan from AC Milan over the winter break, seems like the ultimate wild card. Of the four games he’s played at least 60 minutes or more for Sevilla he has three underwhelming games and one where he put up 36.1 Draftkings points versus Espanyol. He is coming off a knee injury too so once again a candidate to be subbed off after 60 minutes. However, as shown at Milan and one time at Sevilla, he can also break a slate.
- 5. Youssef En-Nesyri – Sevilla – $9,000 – I think that Banega and Ocampos get more attention from Sevilla. However, En Nesyri is a solid play in his own right as you can see he delivers when he gets to start and doesn’t just come off the bench for 20 minutes. I think in a cash game I would prioritize Banega’s floor and in a tournament I’d rank Ocampos a little higher. However, he is certainly Sevilla’s next man up for me and not opposed to a triple stack.
- 6. Sergio Regulion – Sevilla – $6,600 – Ugh, this guy was beyond terrible playing as a wingback at Real Madrid. However, maybe he didn’t touch the ball that much? His game logs since the winter transfer window when he joined Sevilla on loan, look much better.
- 7. Emerson – Real Betis – $5,800 – We need some value. Emerson is playing as a wing defender for an underdog but is cheaper than the two Sevilla wingbacks with a similar floor.
- 8. Jesus Navas – Sevilla – $7,200 – I’m used to looking at his logs for the Spanish National Team seeing double digits everywhere. I don’t know if you’re really getting upside for this price. He certainly still has a decent floor, playing as the other wing defender with Regulion above, for a hefty favorite.
- 9. Luuk de Jong – Sevilla – $8,400 – As far as strikers go Luuk de Jong sucks. There’s just no other way to put it. They probably can’t wait to replace him end of the season. However, he is playing as a striker for a favored team so certainly in the conversation for goals.
- 10. Alex Moreno – Real Betis – $4,800 – One more punt to help open stuff up. He hasn’t scored a goal all season but can grab you 6-10 points which is all you need at this price.
- 11. Lucas Ocampos – Sevilla – $8,800 – Ocampos has 10 goals in La Liga this season, which is five more than anyone else from Sevilla. He enters with goals in his last four and five of his last six games. However, these came on eight shots on goal during that span so he is probably due for regression. Nevertheless, a strong play in both formats.
6/11 La Liga Monkey Knife Fight Picks
With MKF employing a new scoring format we need points. However, we should have some here so take the over for both Ocampos and Fekir.
