10/29 NFL Showdown Recap

10/29 NFL Showdown Recap

Welcome to my first 10/29 NFL Showdown Recap, its a surreal one as my Dad finished first in the DraftKings Milli Maker. He shared it with several other players as usual for these Showdown slates taking home a total of over $25,000! It’s amazing to say that I got him into Daily Fantasy sports when I started playing and now we both have massive GPP wins. I’m excited to be breaking down his winning lineup and what went into it so lets dive in!

Captain – Curtis Samuel

Samuel was in my captain spot as well, facing this Atlanta secondary is a dream spot and Samuel was the easiest way to be different. The fact that he had a rushing attempt in every game this year and a redzone carry last week heightened the interest in him more. To top it off he had played in over 70% of the teams snaps in half their games. Saving all the salary with this captain selection let you do whatever you wanted with the lineup as well.

Teddy Bridgewater

Teddy played really well last time out against this terrible Atlanta secondary that is allowing 31 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Let’s be honest we all have picked on Atlanta pass defense this season, he also took a pretty gnarly hit in the second half. It was hard not to pick Teddy in a one game showdown against Atlanta.

Matt Ryan

With having Bridgewater and Samuel the expectation was for Atlanta to be playing from behind. Matt Ryan typically doesn’t get a rushing touchdown either. Although it didn’t play out the way that was planned the rushing touchdown saved Ryan’s day and got the job done. With Gurley’s snap count fluctuating and dropping down to 50% on occasion, Matt Ryan and the passing game was the route we took.

Julio Jones

Pairing Ryan with Julio Jones was an easy choice as Julio was cheaper than his teammate Calvin Ridley. Julio had ten targets and nine targets in the previous two weeks leading to 137 yard two touchdown day in one of those. Ridley was regularly seeing over ten targets a game thru the first five games of the season. Since Julio returned from injury Ridley has yet to see above ten targets, indicating Julio may be over his injury.

Hayden Hurst

Wanted another pairing with Ryan that ended up being Hurst. Hurst was sixth in receptions for tight ends coming into the game. Hurst also had the fourth most receiving yards for tight ends this season, leading to his selection.

Younghoe Koo

There isn’t a ton that went into this. He has been very consistent only missing one field goal this season while averaging 11.7 fantasy points per game. He only had one bad game against Detroit scoring two fantasy points. He was also cheaper than Slye who several people did like.
