It is time to head back to college and enjoy a great day of College Football.
Welcome to Week 9 of the College Football season! We have hit the point in the year where just about every game is a conference matchup. With teams from the same conference meeting, we get the pleasure of watching great teams going at it. This week we get a couple of great matchups. The slate’s highlight is in Pennsylvania where 13th-ranked Penn State hosts 2nd-ranked Ohio State. Both teams need a win to continue their pursuit of a Big 10 title and a playoff spot.

Quarterbacks
DraftKings Quarterbacks
Max Duggan – TCU – $8,500 Duggan is in a great spot this week. TCU plays the 117th-ranked pass defense in WVU which should mean a big game. He has been able to dominate opponents both with his arm and legs, and his arm should be on full display on Saturday. Duggan should surpass the 300-passing mark for the 4th time this year as well as hit the three-touchdown mark for the 5th time in six weeks. I don’t expect TCU to go up big early, but if they do and Duggan’s passing attempts go down he still has the running ability so the danger of this becoming a TCU running game isn’t too big.
Spencer Sanders – Oklahoma St- $8,300 – If you have been following along this season you’ll know I am a big Sanders fan, and this week he should have another good game when he takes on Kansas State. The KSU defense ranks in the middle in both the passing and running game, which bodes well for Sanders who is good in both. Sanders over the past three games has managed to score; 31.3, 31.6, and 35.5. I can’t see his 30+ point run ending this week.
FanDuel Quarterbacks
KJ Jefferson – Arkansas – $10,700 – This weekend is a great spot for the dual-threat QB. Auburn is a tough team to pass on, but they are weak against the run. Jefferson has 344 yards and four touchdowns on the ground, and I expect him to find success against Auburn. A mixture of him and Sanders (who, spoiler, I’ll mention in the RB section) should bring in the Auburn defense which will ultimately open up the passing game for Jefferson who is coming off of 367 yards and five touchdown game against BYU.
Tommy DeVito – Illinois- $8,200 – Never expected to write up DeVito this season since Illinois is led by their star RB but this matchup against Nebraska is too hard to pass up. The Cornhusker passing defense is ranked 121st out of 131 so it’s hard to be any worse. I expect Nebraska to focus on stopping Chase Brown which will allow DeVito to build on his season-high 252 passing yards he had last week.
Pivots:
DraftKings – JT Daniels – WVU- $6,500 “low-end”, Sam Hartman – Wake Forest – $8,900 “mid-range”, C.J Stroud/Bo Nix- Ohio St/Oregon – $9,200/$9,400 “high-end”
FanDuel – Kedon Slovis – Pittsburgh – $7,900 “low-end”, Garrett Shrader – Syracuse – $9,700 “mid-range”, Hayden Hooker – Tennessee – $11,000 “high-end”
Running Backs
DraftKings Running Backs
Raheim Sanders – Arkansas – $6,900 – Sanders is probably my favorite play this week due to his favorable matchup against the 119th-ranked Auburn rush defense. Sanders this season has more games with 30+ points on DraftKings than he does under 20-point games. Over his past three games, he has managed to average 26.5 including putting up 23 against a tough Alabama run defense. Auburn didn’t have a game last week, but two weeks ago this Auburn defense allowed three 100+ rushers against Ole Miss.
Chase Brown – Illinois – $7,500 – I think Brown’s name suits him this week because Nebraska is going to have to chase this RB down if they don’t want him running all over them on Saturday. Similarly to Sanders, Brown gets a favorable matchup against the 115th-ranked rush defense in Nebraska. Brown has only scored under 20 points on DraftKings once this season, which is impressive since he hasn’t had much success finding the endzone. His $600 markup and his lack of touchdowns are why I have him slightly lower than Sanders.
FanDuel Running Backs
Blake Corum – Michigan – $10,600 – Some might not agree with me because there have been many great RBs in CFB this year, but to me, Corum is the best running back in the nation. Corum had a bye last week, but two weeks ago he led Michigan past one of the best run defenses in the nation by rushing for 166 and two scores. This week Corum goes up against a much weaker Michigan State run defense, who allows an average of 153.3. In Big 10 conference play Corum’s worse rushing day was 124 yards, and this weekend I’ll be surprised if Corum doesn’t go for over 150 and two scores.
Israel Abinikanda – Pittsburgh – $9,900 – The 2nd best running back in my opinion is also on this slate and has a favorable matchup. North Carolina comes into the game ranked near the bottom which means Abinikanda should continue his successful campaign. In his past five games, Abinikanda has only had one bad game which came against GT. Last time we saw UNC was two weeks ago when they allowed Duke to rush for 299 as a team. Abinikanda should be able to find success early and often on the ground.
Quinshon Judkins – Ole Miss – $9,400 – One of my favorite running backs over the past couple of weeks, Judkins has taken his game to the next level. His level should continue this week against Texas A&M’s 87th-ranked rush defense. Over the past two weeks, Judkins has 50 carries for 250 yards and four touchdowns as well as 20 receiving yards and another score. He does split carries with Evans who is a good running back as well, but Judkins has proven this is his backfield.
Pivots:
DraftKings – Trey Benson – FSU – $4,600 “low-end”, Deuce Vaughn/Sean Tucker – Kansas St/Syracuse – $7,000 “mid-range”, Mohamed Ibrahim – Minnesota – $7,300 “high-end”
FanDuel – Chris Tyree – Notre Dame – $6,000 “low-end”, Sean Tucker – Syracuse – $7,800 “mid-range”, John Richardson – Oklahoma State- $9,100 “high-end”
DraftKings Wide Receivers
Emeka Egbuka – Ohio State – $6,900 – Egbuka’s price on DraftKings remains the same as last week’s despite his 21-point performance. Egbuka has scored a touchdown in all but one game, which came in his only under-20-point performance against Rutgers. He still leads the team in targets as well which always makes him a must-play for me at such a low price. A positive for Egbuka is that teammate Smith-Njigba is slowly being brought back, so Egbuka will stay the top guy.
Troy Franklin – Oregon – $6,800 – Oregon’s top WR is a great play this week. Franklin leads the team in receptions and has proven to be a big play player. Last week Franklin played a huge part in Oregon’s win over UCLA, catching 8 for 132 and two touchdowns. This week Oregon takes on Cal who have struggled against the pass all year. The Cal defense has allowed at least one 100-yard receiver in three of their last four games.
Pivots:
Jared Wiley – TCU – $4,000 “low-end”, AT Perry – Wake Forest – $7,000 “mid-range”, Trey Palmer – Nebraska – $7,600 “high-end”
FanDuel Wide Receivers
Jared Wayne – Pittsburgh – $6,700- Pittsburgh’s number one WR has struggled over the past two weeks. But this weekend feels like a bounce-back spot for him as Pittsburgh takes on UNC. The Tar Heel pass defense ranks 6th worse this season allowing 290 yards a game. The aspect of the UNC pass D that will help Wayne is allowing 2.6 receiving touchdowns a game. Wayne is coming into this weekend with only 1 touchdown on the year.
Isaiah Williams – Illinois – $7,000 – I wrote up DeVito in the QB section and now it’s time to check out his favorite target. As mentioned with DeVito, Nebraska’s focus will be on Brown which should give Williams the space needed to put up good numbers. On the season Williams has 47 catches for 346 yards and two scores. I think this is a great spot to get different, William’s 7.62 average on FanDuel will keep people off of him.
Pivots:
Konata Mumpfield – Pittsburgh – $5,900 “low-end”, Josh Downs- UNC – $9,200 “mid-range”, Jalin Hyatt – Tennessee – $10,000 “high-end”
