10/15 College Football DraftKings and FanDuel DFS

It is time to head back to college and enjoy a great day of College Football.

Before we get into this week’s slate of games, I just want to quickly congratulate Joel (DraftMasterFlex) on his big win last week. If you are not watching him and Dave Friday nights, I don’t know what to tell you because those guys are great at what they do.

Welcome to Week 7 of the College Football season! We have hit the point in the year where just about every game is a conference matchup. With teams from the same conferences meeting, we get the pleasure of watching some of the best teams in the nation going at it, and this week we get 2 great matchups. The first is in Knoxville where the 6th-ranked Tennessee takes on 3rd-ranked Alabama, the other being played in Fort Worth where 8th-ranked Oklahoma State travels south to take on 13th-ranked TCU.

Saturday 10/15 CFB

10/15 CFB Top Plays

Quarterbacks

DraftKings Quarterbacks

Taulia Tagovailoa – Maryland – $6,900 – Tagovailoa’s DraftKings price feels a bit off considering the spot he is in this week. This Saturday Tagovailoa takes on Indiana and their 14th worse pass defense. This season the Indiana pass defense has allowed at least 200 passing yards and 2 passing touchdowns to every QB they have faced. Tagovailoa should be able to take advantage of this weakness and continue the form he showed last week throwing for 315 yards with 4 total touchdowns.

Spencer Sanders – Oklahoma State- $7,900 – Feels like I can just leave Sanders on this list for the rest of the year based on how he has been performing this season. Last week Sanders was priced at 8K and was able to score 35.5 points in his team’s victory over Texas Tech. While a $100 price difference doesn’t seem like much, it does shock me considering the only two QBs at 9K or higher are not guaranteed to start. We will take advantage of the price this week when Sanders travels to take on a TCU squad that gave up almost 30 points in three quarters to Kansas backup, Jake Bean, last week. This game points to a shootout, so I am all in on Sanders who I believe will continue his success in a fast-paced game that will most likely hit its 68.5 game total.

FanDuel Quarterbacks

Caleb Williams – USC – $10,300 – This week I will be returning to USC’s Heisman-caliber QB, Caleb Williams. Williams last week had a bit of difficulty against WSU who did a good job stopping USC’s number one WR. Luckily for Williams, his former teammate at Oklahoma took advantage of WSU’s focus on the number one WR and ended up catching both Caleb Williams’ two touchdowns. This week looks to be a better matchup for Williams who is taking on a Utah team coming off of a game against UCLA where they allowed the Bruin QB over 300 yards and 5 total touchdowns. I expect Williams to be able to do the same against the Utah squad if he wants to help USC continue its journey to the CFB Playoffs.

Drake Maye – UNC- $12,000 – Maye comes into this FanDuel slate as the highest-priced QB but it is for good reason. Maye has averaged 33.99 points this season and has scored over 40 in two games this season. Last week he had a bad game compared to the season he was having, but still managed 23.66 against Miami. This week he takes on a Duke defense that has looked good on paper, but they have not had to take on tough QBs so far. The best QB Duke has faced was Kansas’s Daniels who managed over 400 total yards and five total touchdowns. Maye will need a lot to reach value on a $12K price, but the matchup is right for him to get there.

Pivots:

DraftKings – Kurtis Rourke – Ohio- $6,200 “low-end”, Max Duggan – TCU – $8,000 “mid-range”, Jalen Milroe/Bryce Young- Alabama- $8,800/$9500 “high-end”

FanDuel – Hunter Dekkers – Iowa St- $7,600 “low-end”, Riley Leonard – Duke – $10,000 “mid-range”, Hendon Hooker – Tennessee – $10,500 “high-end”

Running Backs

DraftKings Running Backs

Jabari Smalls – Tennessee – $6,600 – I am not someone who usually likes to target players taking on Alabama, but I think Small’s form should continue this week. Small has scored over 25 points in each of his last two games and has two scores in each of those games as well. I think playing Smalls this week will make your lineup different because most people will see Alabama as the opponent and move right passed him, but over the past two games, Alabama has allowed an average of 92 total yards to the opponent’s top back.

Jahmry Gibbs – Alabama – $7,900  Smalls’ Alabama counterpart is also in play this weekend. Similarly to last week, I think Gibbs is in line to see an uptick in carries with the QB situation being a bit of a mystery thanks to Young’s injury. Gibbs failed to reach the endzone last week but did end up having his season-best 24 touches against Texas A&M. This week against Tennessee he should have another season-high in touches with Saban likely trying to get the ball in his hands to lower the stress on the starting QB.

FanDuel Running Backs

Chris Rodriguez Jr – Kentucky – $8,200 – Since returning from suspension two games ago, Rodriguez Jr has taken over the top running back spot for Kentucky. Over the two games since he returned, Rodriguez has averaged 22.5 touches and 114.5 total yards with a touchdown. This week Kentucky goes up against a Mississippi State squad that ranks 92nd in opponent’s rushing yards per attempt. Rodriguez Jr’s 4.8 yards per attempt makes this a great matchup for him and should get him ready for what’s to come in Kentucky’s SEC schedule.

Blake Corum – Michigan – $9,000 – Corum’s momentum slowed down a bit last week as the junior failed to reach 20 points for the first time over the past 4 weeks. However, he still ran for 120+ yards last week to take his total to three straight 120+ games and he was also able to continue his scoring in every game streak. The matchup this week on paper is going to be Corum’s toughest against one of the top defenses in Penn State, but Corum all season has proved he can run on any team. In his first three Big 10 games, Corum has racked up 500 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns and has scored: 18.4, 21.2, and 36.3 in those games.

Pivots:

DraftKings – Sieh Bangura – Ohio – $5,500 “low-end”, Braelon Allen – Wisconsin – $8,200 “mid-range”, Bijan Robinson – Texas – $9,200 “high-end”

FanDuel – Devin Neal – Kansas – $6,700 “low-end”Casey Filkins- Stanford – $8,200 “mid-range”, Travis Dye – USC – $9,200 “high-end”

DraftKings Wide Receivers

Ja’ Tavion Sanders – Texas – $3,700  This is the mispricing of the week. Sanders is coming into this game with back-to-back 5 receptions and 2 touchdown games with an average of 24.5 points on DraftKings in those two games. Sanders is averaging over 5 targets a game and against Iowa State this weekend, I expect more of the same. Look for him to be targeted in the red zone and continue his touchdown streak this week.

Sam Wiglusz – Ohio – $5,000 – Never expected to write up a player from Ohio, but this weekend DraftKings decided to include the Ohio vs Western Michigan game. Wiglusz has been the number-one WR for the Bobcats this season with 35 receptions and 434 receiving yards. On DraftKings, Wiglusz has had success with scores of: 22.9, 6.3, 5, 17.3, 26.5, and 36.4. His two under ten-point performances came in Ohio’s toughest games, at Penn State,d at Iowa State. This weekend bodes well for Wiglusz as Western Michigan is coming off of giving up 22.4 points to Eastern Michigan’s number one WR.

Pivots:

Brennan Presley- Oklahoma St – $6,000 “low-end”, Corey Crooms – Western Michigan – $6,600 “mid-range”, Xavier Hutchinson – Iowa St – $8,300 “high-end”

FanDuel Wide Receivers

Michael Mayer – Notre Dame – $8,800- Mayer comes into this weekend’s matchup against a bad Stanford pass defense averaging 16.32 points on FanDuel. Stanford is 110th in receiving yards per catch, which bodes well for Mayer who over the past two games with Pyne has been targeted 23 times. Notre Dame comes into the game as the favorite to win, and if they want to prove Vegas right they will target Mayer early and often.

Jordan Addison – USC – $9,300 – Talked about his QB in the QB section so it’s time to discuss the number one WR for the Trojans. Addison had a rough game last week only grabbing three passes for 37 yards and rushing for negative seven, he also failed to score for the second straight week. This week that should change against Utah who has been giving up yards through the air. It is difficult to think one of the nation’s top WRs will fail to reach the endzone in three straight, I expect USC to target him early to get him back into form. Quickly want to note if you need salary savings and still need a partner for Caleb Williams then Mario Williams ($7200) is a good option if you can’t get to Addison.

Pivots:

Jaden Haselwood – Arkansas – $7,100 “low-end”, Antoine Green – UNC – $9,000 “mid-range”, Josh Downs – UNC – $10,000 “high-end”
