1/30 League of Legends LEC breakdown
After some quite predictable matches, yesterday let’s get into today’s slate and break it down for everyone and hopefully catch you all some green. LEC so far has quite the parity with the obvious favorites being Rogue and G2 while everyone else is seemingly quite far behind in talent. These LEC slates allow for some off-meta builds, you do not need to go your normal 4-3 build, due to it being BO1 series you are able to run with more build centered around players who should score well for a one-off or small stack in this 1/30 League of Legends LEC breakdown.
XL Esports (-185) vs. Astralis (+135)
Here is the first match of the slate and I think it will be a prime spot for value as XL is very underpriced on both DK and FanDuel for both the safety, and upside they offer today. XL has the courtesy of having Patrik in the bot lane where he is their win con in every match and I fully expect him to repeat that in this matchup.
Now let’s get into why we really want to take parts of XL, they allow us to fit the ever more holy, G2. In most cases, you won’t be taking patrik but you will just be looking for serviceable points from Kryze and Dan in the top and jungle. I believe that XL will win this match through their carry as Astralis haven’t had a carry set in stone yet as they are mostly a new team after being rebranded from Origin last year. I am taking XL to win this but would not full stack them on this slate.
Misfits (-235) vs. SK (+170)
Our second match of the slate and this one will be pretty one-sided as Misfits has been playing great to start off the split and I can see them only getting better as time goes on as their rookie top laner HiRit has been a shining light for this team. SK is a team that is one the gate of being relevant and I feel they took a huge step back when they released Crownshot this offseason.
The win-con for Misfits is also for them to play through their bot lane and use Razork to get some gold over or early kills to Kobbe as they are pretty safe and set with a weak side top laner in HiRit. This SK team is another team whose players are relatively new to the LEC and with Tynx who comes from LDLC and Jezu, along with Blue. Misfits have the team chemistry and overall talent advantage, They have also averaged 25.5 kills per win so far this split and I am all for using them as a possible full-stack to dodge some G2 chalk today. A common 4 stack would be Kobbe cap, Razork jg, Vetheo mid, and Vander sup. You always want your ADC/SUP to correlate as how they do is based on each other, Mid/Jungle is another as they tend to play together. MSF wins a high kill one.
Vitality (+265) vs. Rogue (-385)
Our third match on the slate and this is one where I believe we can dodge some more chalk on this slate. This will be a slower-paced match and I believe that Rogue will comfortably win as they are the better team through and through. If you’re looking to stack Rogue here I would take Hans Sama and Trymbi as I can see Labrov feeding hard again as he did yesterday against Fnatic.
Rogue is a team I would use in cash games as your small stack or only as the team slot if you have extra salary left for them. Full stacks have to start with Hans Sama and this would only be a GPP shot that I would be taking, Rogue is one of the two elites in the LEC, and cannot see them losing to Vitality.
Schalke04 (+325) v G2 Esports (-500)
We have the highest-scoring team in the league here in G2 and they will also carry the highest ownership after consistently being the highest-scoring team in the LEC and averaging 23 kills per game, they are another team that is in the upper tier and there is no catching them right now with their addition of Rekkles obviously helping them out tremendously. Don’t have much to say about Schalke, they aren’t a great team and are barring to get rolled by G2 although, I do not believe it will be a high scoring game for G2
You, like most other people, will try to stuff in 4 G2 and there is no way I can tell you not to, but I may be able to persuade you away from it as Schalke04 only die 12.5 times per game, They are not a team that tries to fight till the end when down, they start to sit back and attempt to scale up or just go quietly into a loss. G2 will never be a bad play, but they aren’t the best play on this slate.
Fnatic (-200) vs. Mad Lions (+145)
This is the last match and will be the highest scorer on the slate for whoever wins, this and the misfits match will be how to differentiate yourself from the immense G2 ownership. Fnatic is probably my favorite full stack on the slate tomorrow as Mad Lions average 25.5 deaths a loss while Fnatic average 23.5 deaths a loss. Whoever wins this matchup will have a great DFS day and will have a shot at the optimal lineup
Your plays from this match would be the main carries from either side, I am leaning that you should go Fnatic as after watching Mad Lions play I do not see them having too big of a chance in this matchup and I feel that Mad may be a chalkier option to take the upset, though I can’t see it. Take and back Fnatic and look for Upset to carry.
To summarize our 1/30 League of Legends LEC breakdown I think a G2 fade is very much in the cards and I can back it by going Fnatic/MSF in a gpp build, in cash woluld always go with G2 as they are the safest team we have as always.
