1/14 LEC League Of Legends DFS Breakdown
Welcome to my 1/14 LEC League Of Legends DFS Breakdown. This is going to be our first LEC slate of the year and it will be the first showcase of the new rosters around the league. A key difference between this league and what we’ve had so far is that they are all BO1 series meaning the variability is a lot higher and upsets are a lot more likely. Today we have Vit/MAD, RGE/SK, G2/XL, MSF/AST, BDS/FNC. This is going to be a fun assortment of games to break down today as we get to break in a new split of one of my favorite regions across the world. Now let’s dig into this slate and see the best plays possible to get us that takedown.
Vit vs MAD
Our first match of the day and one of the best to watch and to bet on as we get the new look vitality matching up against MAD who just lost most of their squad in free agency and is not going to be anywhere near the team they were last year. MAD is bringing in a new roster of Armut, Elyoya, Reeker, Unforgiven, and Kaiser. Vitality on the other hand has assembled a super team in Alphari, Selfmade, Perkz, Carzzy, and Limit. This squad is assembled from some of the best players in Europe and is one I see going far and being one of the best in the LEC this year. Going more into the DFS side of this match I really like Vitality here as they are going to be one of the best teams in the league and are going to want to make a statement win here, MAD is historically one of the bloodier teams in the LEC and I can see this match going the same way with them losing. Vit is going to be one of my favorite 4 stacks tomorrow and I am fully behind them on this slate as my favorite play.
RGE vs SK
Our next match is nowhere near as exciting as we are looking at a game between RGE and SK, two of the slower teams in the league. SK is coming in with a team that is mostly similar to last splits as they have only made minimal changes with Sertuss in the mid-lane now. RGE on the other hand has a lot of changes with Comp in the bot lane, Malrang in the jungle. The changes they have made are about equal in terms of talent level as I like Malrang over Inspired from the last split and that sets off the difference between Hans Sama and Comp. Looking into the matchup here it is going to be a stomp on the side of RGE as I believe they are going to still be one of the better teams in the LEC and are going to be a good cash play on this slate, I wouldn’t touch RGE in any GPP’s unless you want a safe 3 stack.
G2 vs XL
In our 1/14 LEC League Of Legends DFS Breakdown. We get to see the first look of the new G2 here with them switching our Wunder, Rekkles, and Mikyx for BrokenBlade, Flakked, and Targamas. XL on the other hand is always one of my favorite plays to take down top teams like G2 and I believe that can happen here again today. XL didn’t make any changes to their roster from the end of the last split and they are going to use this roster to look to carry their momentum into the new split. This is going to be a much closer matchup than many expect and from what you would believe after looking at the DK pricing. G2 is always going to be one of the better teams in the LEC as long as they have Caps and Jankos. I think there is decent upside here with this matchup and I am going to use this game mostly as a salary saver and take the upset in XL winning day 1 over new-look G2. Take XL and play them in a 4 stack for value and a low owned play with big upside.
MSF vs AST
This is the most interesting match of the day for me as both teams are looking to make an impact on the league with some new players joining their teams. I believe both teams went down in overall talent but I believe Astralis is more affected by talent loss than Misfits. I really like Misfits top and mid in Hirit and Vetheo and I believe they are going to be the main carries on the roster and I believe they outdo Astralis’ main carries in WhiteKnight and Zanzarah. Misfits also have a pickup in Shaltan in the jungle to replace Razork and I believe that is going to be key to them being one of the best plays on the slate tonight in a win over Astralis and they won’t have the highest ownership with the chance to have a high kill total and take over this game. My favorite two plays from MSF are going to have to be Vetheo and Hirit.
FNC vs BDS
This is going to be the most set-in-stone match of the day where I believe FNC is the safest possible play yet they also carry some of the highest upsides we have on the slate. BDS is a team that is coming in from the lower leagues and they are a mashup of that lower-level talent getting their first shot in the LEC. I do not like their roster composition as players like xMatty and NuclearInt never showed up even in the lower levels and it is confusing how they were able to get into the LEC at this level. FNC on the other hand is going through a decent amount of talent turnover with them now having Wunder, Razork, and Humanoid on the roster, three amazing additions for this team. I cannot see a situation in which FNC loses in this game or even for them to not score high, they are one of the best plays period, just affording them today is the only problem. FNC 4 stacks are amazing to grab if you can find a way to afford them.
1/14 LEC League Of Legends DFS Breakdown Overview
Thank you for reading my 1/14 LEC League Of Legends DFS Breakdown. I am looking for this to be a fun first slate with a ton of build possibilities. Winners for the day are going to be Vitality, RGE, XL, MSF, and FNC. XL is a big upset that I am looking at but still one of my favorites by far for the day. Cash is looking to be something like VIT/FNC or MSF/FNC, both of those look like good cash plays. GPP I love Vitality as well and XL on top of that as an upset pick to get all your FNC needs.
