143 This article focuses on UCL DFS Picks for 2/25 and 2/26 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large. Tuesday 2/25 UCLBayern Munich (-115) at Chelsea (+275) – Under 3 Goals (-115)The leaders of the Bundesliga should smash Chelsea. Bayern is better than the Blues at virtually every single position. Beginning at striker, you have a world-class striker in Robert Lewandowski as opposed to the young and inconsistent Tammy Abraham. Moving on to goalie, you have German national team goaltender Manuel Neuer, widely regarded as of the best goalkeepers in the world, as opposed to Kepa Arizabalaga, who is having a poor season and has been benched multiple times. On the wings, Bayern has high upside talents like Serge Gnabry and Kinglsey Coman, as opposed to Willian and the rookie, Christian Pulisic. Even though they will be the visitors, it is hard imagining the German leaders losing. Barcelona (+110) at Napoli (+220) – Under 3 Goals (-125)Barcelona has moved forward without striker Luis Suarez, who is out for most of the season, if not all of it. There is even more pressure on Leo Messi to carry the load, with offseason import Antoine Greizmann his main co-star. Messi is the main target and I think due to his non-scoring floor, I would lean his way in cash games on Draftkings over Robert Lewandowski. On FanDuel if possible I would try to fit both. I don’t think you need him in every single lineup but it is hard not to at least try to match the field’s exposure. Napoli has been far more impressive in UCL play this year, than in Serie A where they have been middling at best. However, this game presents a good opportunity for them and it should be their main focus. Napoli will try to focus their defensive efforts on stopping Messi, but many teams have tried the same and failed. Wednesday 2/26Juventus (-120) at Lyon (+350) – Under 2.5 Goals (-125)Facing Lyon, this should be a spot where Cristiano Ronaldo is both chalk and likely smashes. Juventus has had an up and down year and it seems like their time at the top of Serie A is slowly coming to a close. However, this Lyon team is arguably the worst of any that made it to the UCL Round of 16. Their main star who got them here, Memphis Depay, tore his ACL and will not be available until next season. Outside of Ronaldo, Szczesny should be popular in net, particularly on the two-game FanDuel slate. If stacking, I would look to Paulo Dybala and/or Gonzalo Higuain as the secondary pieces. Manchester City (+155) at Real Madrid (+140) – Under 3 Goals (-110)If all eight of these games between this week and last week were a boxing or UFC card, this would be the main event. Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola with his longtime Barcelona affiliation is no friend of Real Madrid Coach, Zinedine Zidane. This is a power battle between La Liga leading Real Madrid and a Manchester City team perhaps in for their final fight with the current core, due to the two year Champion’s League ban imposed on them for future seasons. Man City might have won back to back Premier League titles the last two seasons, but this final goal remains unobtained. However, as the line suggests we might see a tight, low scoring battle here with both teams afraid to make the first mistake. Given Real Madrid’s superior defense and depth, I like their chances.
