Week 14 Where’s the Money?

It’s good to have information. You don’t need to use it every single time, but there’s a story being told whether you’re listening or not. With sports betting, sometimes you want all the pieces, sometimes you want what you need, and sometimes you want nothing. But when your being shouted at by huge lopsided bets that have stagnant lines, you should probably at least know. So here is Week 14 Where’s the Money?

Colts (-3) at Raiders

Well well well, what do we have here? The Raiders potentially in a trap game? Never heard of it. The Colts and Raiders are both 7-5 against the spread this year, but man have the Raiders been in some weird games. Getting hammered by the Falcons on the road a week after almost beating the Chiefs comes to mind…oh and also not losing to the Jets because they’re tanking.

The Colts really want to be one of the top 5 teams in the AFC but each time we think they’re there, they get blown out or lose to a team they shouldn’t. We can say almost the exact same thing about the Raiders as well. This game is interesting though, Raiders are a home dog and all the money is flowing to the Colts currently, over 90%. The number has moved to -3 after starting at -2.5, but you would think that leaving us on the hook at 2.5 might be the trap… Recency bias should say that the Colts take this one home, and kind of easily, but man oh man, don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Saints (-7) at Eagles

Another home dog, but this one is a bit different. Jalen Hurts is your starting quarterback for the Eagles with the $30 million man backing him up. Now, I’ll say it again, Jalen Hurts is not a good quarterback. He was terrible at throwing while at Alabama and pretty much anyone would look good in Lincoln Riley’s system at Oklahoma. So -7 makes sense here!

The Saints are the hottest team in the NFL winning 9 games in a row after a 1-2 start. So if 85% of the money is coming in on the Saints, why is there some reverse line movement at some books? Meaning, the line started at -7 and even with all the money coming in on the Saints, the bookmakers moved the line to -6.5. Makes ya think. I think the Saints win handily, but so does everyone else, which is scary because the public is usually wrong, especially when the numbers look like this.

Taysom Hill has been solid outside of not needing to do anything against the Broncos, while the Saints defense has been insanely good this year. You would think that the Saints want to put the Eagles in the ground early and then burn the clock running the ball with Kamara and Hill. Seems too easy though, doesn’t it?

Titans (-7.5) at Jaguars

And yet another home dog getting no respect! The Titans are favored by over a touchdown on the road getting about 80% of the money currently. While the Jags are 1-11 and have lost 11 straight, they are 6-6 against the spread this year, so that’s something. Minshew, Luton, and Glennon haven’t looked alllll that terrible this year, and the Jags put themselves in positions to win. Losing to Tennessee by less than a score the first time they played and taking the Vikings to overtime last week!

Tennessee has been a weird team this year to say the least with some blowout losses (Browns last week) and wins that didn’t make any sense (blowing out the Bills). This is also a divisional game, an AFC South divisional games, so it shouldn’t be what we expect in the least. But the public is riding this 7.5 on the Titans and are willing to go down with the ship. The line hasn’t moved at all either, so Vegas is happy with the action.

Teams and their Official Sportsbooks

This was an excited week for a couple NFC East teams! The Giants and Eagles each signed official deals with sportsbooks to become partners in one way or another. Teams are starting to see how lucrative their official sportsbooks can become!

The Eagles, who already have an official partnership with Unibet, entered into a deal with FOX Bet, the online and mobile branding of The Stars Group. Through this new deal, the Eagles will have a FOX Bet branded “interactive lounge” where fans can enjoy the game and bet from. The NFL currently prohibits kiosks at stadiums to bet through, but we all know the NFL loves nothing more than money, so that will be happening in the future. This deal also includes becoming the presenting sponsor of the Eagles Edge, a digital program airing after all Eagles games that will include legends of the team, on air personalities, and more. It will be available on the team’s YouTube page and available in their team app.

Outside of other digital, social, and in stadium assets, FOX Bet will also become the presenting sponsor of the Eagles Tailgating Crew, even though there isn’t too much of that to be had this year unfortunately.

On the other side of New Jersey, the New York Giants are entered into their own exclusive deal with DraftKings. DK is now the Official Sports Betting and Daily Fantasy Sports partner of Big Blue. Similar to the Eagles and their FOX Bet deal, DraftKings will receive digital rights and the opportunity to advertise within their sports lounge. Of course, this also includes exposure throughout Metlife (read: Giants) Stadium.

I believe we’re going to see more and more deals like this, especially seeing how much states like NJ are taking in from wide expansion of mobile sports betting! Why would a team turn something like this down when the sportsbooks are willing to give them the money. I’m excited to see what types of fun deals each of these teams and sportsbooks will be able to run, whether is a boost to the home team in stadium, hammering the over, or some type of insurance for the home teams. The more fun and interesting these partnership can become with engaging the home fans will make for much better opportunities. Of course, most of this can’t be seen until the stadiums have fans once again.

On this Win Daily Show Interview with Andrew Wolfington, Andrew explains the sports betting social media app he co-founded.

Andrew Wolfington joins Michael Rasile on the Win Daily Show to discuss his Sports Betting Social Media platform Vig It. Andrew and his co-founder Joe decided that they loved betting too much to just do it for fun. They realized that there was a lot of space to utilize the internet to bring sports bettors together in a place that was more than acceptable.

Yes, you can be on twitter or instagram, but the platform isn’t conducive to sports betting content. Vig It allows bettors a place to see lines and movement, chat with their friends, and chat with the people on the same side of the bet as them! It will also be a place that reactions can be shared and the others on the app can find enjoyment, or pain, in watching you win or lose your bet.

Professional handicappers will have the opportunity to sell their services and give back to the communities. It also gives a transparency that will show how many each is getting right or wrong so people can vet who they’re getting their picks from.

NBA Announced to Return on July 31st

We are excited because the NBA Announced to Return on July 31st! Let’s break down what this looks like.

They will be playing down in Sunny Orlando in Disney World Resorts with tip off on July 31st! No home games, no away games, just bubble games all day! 22 teams will be apart of the final 8 games of the season with coming 13 coming from the West, 9 coming from the East.

Each team plays 8 games to determine who the playoffs end up shaking out. There is a lot of seeding can still change especially in the East.

An interesting wrinkle they put in the plans, which we’ll call the “Zion rule” is if the 9th seed is within 4 games back of the 8th seed there will be a “play-in tournament.” Max of 2 games, if the 8th seed wins once its over. If the 9th seed wins two games they play in the playoffs.

Again, this is just to get Zion in the playoffs so Jason can bet them to win. Once the actual playoffs come in its all 7 games series

Memphis had one of the hardest schedules going into the final stretch of the season, New Orleans had a significantly easier schedule. Many projections (FiveThirtyEight specifically) had them in the playoffs over the Grizzlies.

Why are the wizards and suns there? Wiz 24-40, and only have one player of note. Suns are 26-39, Devin booker is about it. But why the heck are we bothering. Just makes it worse in terms of COVID considering they need to bring all 15 players, coaching staff, training, staff, etc.

And don’t forget about that pandemic! No guests until August when the playoffs begin, daily testing for COVID-19, German BBL tournament is requiring players wear movement tracking chips at their team hotel, NBA will be seeing how that goes, if anyone tests positive they will be removed from the team and quarantined separately.

Betting is back!

The betting lines for the NBA Championships are back and our friends over at DraftKings and FanDuel have everything already locked down!

+240: Bucks
+270: Lakers
+340: Clippers
+1200: Rockets
+2000: Celtics
+2400: Raptors
+2500: Nuggets
+2700: Heat, 76ers
+2900: Jazz
+3600: Mavs
+6000: Nets
+10000: Pacers, Thunder
+12000: Pelicans
+21000: Grizz, Blazers, Spurs
+25000: Magic, Suns, Kings, Wiz

In terms of value, it’s looking like that will be coming from the Eastern Conference. The West seems to be a crash course between the LA Lakers and LA Clippers. The East has some more interesting scenarios.

The Celtics, Raptors, Heat, and 76ers all can make a case that they can beat the Bucks. The Bucks at +240 have no value, like the Lakers,+270, and Clippers, +340. But if you can believe in one of the other 5 teams in the East to make a run, you can put a couple bucks down and hedge out when things start to become more clear.

I personally like the Celtics at +2000. I think once Kyrie Irving left they look much closer to the team that went to game 7 of the ECF than the team that got beat early last season. I think the team is there, the coach is there, and the veteran presence is there. Jayson Tatum is coming into his own and will most likely be a top 15 player again next year, so why not start now?

If you’re really feeling frisky, the Heat and 76ers at +2700 can really be a fun play. The 76ers are an up and down team with a ridiculous home/road split. Home: 29 – 2; Road: 10 – 24. There are no home and road games in the bubble of Disney World, so this may be the perfect situation, or just the absolute worst. The talent is there, hopefully everyone stayed in shape and can get to where they need to be!

It’s imperative to have correct bankroll management. This can vary slightly person to person based on a few variables however around 100 units is correct. It doesn’t matter how much money is in your bankroll as long as you are betting the correct amount of units. The units that I will be attributing to each bet are based off of having the correct bankroll and the correct bankroll management.

Patience is immensely important to succeeding in both DFS and Betting Sports. There will be some days that the Sports Betting Picks don’t work out. Not pressing or doing anything hastily on those days goes a long way toward winning at the end of the year. There will also be some days that don’t have many bets at all. You need to accept that and not bet games just to get more action.

All of this is intended for your benefit and to create a winning community and provide the best Sports Betting Picks. I will be in the Discord chat numerous times throughout the week.
