8/13 UCL Showdown Slate

Yesterday, the hearts and feelings of those in the small Italian town of Bergamo were ripped out, as French powerhouse PSG found a way to overcome a 1-0 deficit with two unanswered goals in stoppage time. However, for today’s game, hopefully fans of RB Leipzig don’t have equally high expectations.

RB Leipzig will notoriously be missing star striker Timo Werner, who made the decision that he would have a better chance winning the Champion’s League with his new team Chelsea some time in the future, than show up for this game. Leipzig did finish third in the Bundesliga, so they will return to the Champion’s League again next year, so there’s that. They should be able to put up a fight here though against an Atletico Madrid team that is content to sit back and use counter attacks to their advantage.

As for Atletico Madrid, they have been playing really well for all of 2020 after a poor start to the season. They knocked Liverpool out of the Champion’s League away at Anfield, drew with Barcelona away at Camp Nou, in the process going undefeated since the restart. The ultimate “system” team, lead by outspoken coach Diego Simeone, Atletico should be able to take advantage of Leipzig’s generally open play and mistakes, of which, there will definitely be a few.

UCL Best Bet

RB Leipzig (+250) vs Atletico Madrid (+125) – Under 2.5 Goals (-177) – 3PM ET – Thursday 8/13 – *ATLETICO MADRID WIN OR DRAW – REGULAR TIME*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Diego Simeone’s men should advance but they are not exactly known for their high flying attack. Therefore, rather than win I would take the win or draw, with the possibility that at the end of regular time, this is a 0-0 game or 1-1 and goes to extra time.

8/8 UCL Slate

Saturday afternoon, the Champion’s League Round of Sixteen will be wrapping up with two final games. Napoli at Barcelona and Chelsea at Bayern Munich.

Similar to yesterday, we have one of the world’s elite players attempting to help his team stay alive in the competition. Messi and Barcelona come into their match tied 1-1 on aggregate. It has been a disappointing season for Barcelona and they have had relatively poor recent form. Meanwhile, Napoli has been sort of middling as well.

The other matchup between Bayern Munich and Chelsea could get ugly. Willian is out of the fold, as well as Chelsea’s young star and great American Christian Pulisic. Considering Bayern Munich smashed Chelsea in London 3-0 when Chelsea was at full strength, I would not have very high hopes as a Chelsea fan.

Normally, Bayern Munich might rest a couple of players in a spot like this. However, unlike in most years, their domestic season in the Bundesliga is already over and not running concurrently. When you also factor in collective fear induced by Liverpool’s epic 4-0 second leg against Barcelona last season, I think that Bayern goes all out here to ensure that there is no Cinderella story.

UCL Best Bet

Chelsea (+700) at Bayern Munich (-286) – Under 3.5 Goals (-136) – 3PM ET – Saturday 8/8 – *BAYERN MUNICH*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Was there any question? The other game leans Barcelona’s way at home but should be a good one. Meanwhile, this should be a bloodbath. Bayern Munich should really be a -400 favorite here against Frank Lampard’s injury depleted Chelsea squad.

This article focuses on 7/26 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

Sunday 7/26 EPL Slate

We are down to the EPL season finale and for DFS purposes it is absolute sensory overload. The rankings are somewhat less scientific than usual as there are tons of great plays and many stars will be coming in at lower ownership than we are accustomed to. It makes it less of a cash slate and more of a tournament slate with so many lineup possibilities.

So, from the standpoint of an observer, what’s at stake?

Champion’s League 2020-2021 Qualification

Well, there are two Champion’s League spots up for grabs between Chelsea, Manchester United, and Leicester City, the latter two who are facing each other. Chelsea and Manchester United enter the final day with 63 points to Leicester City’s 62. However, Chelsea would lose to both teams on goal difference in the event of a Manchester United and Leicester City tie and Chelsea loss.

Relegation

We also have the finish to the battle for the third and final relegation spot as Watford travels to Arsenal, while Aston Villa heads to West Ham. Aston Villa leads on goal difference, which serves as the tiebreaker in the case they share the same result, but only by a single goal. I don’t know about you but Watford bores me and I never liked insects to begin with, so let’s go Villa!

The Golden Boot

In another matter of interest, Jamie Vardy leads Danny Ings 23-21 in the Golden Boot race. One goal would likely seal the deal for the veteran Leicester City striker, who is on pace to win his first ever Golden Boot at age 33.

EPL Best Bets

Watford (+285) at Arsenal (-110) – Under 3 Goals (-125) – 11:00 AM ET – Sunday 7/26 – *ARSENAL*

DraftKings | FanDuel

Manchester United (+125) at Leicester City (+225) – Under 3 Goals (EVEN) – 11:00 AM ET – Sunday 7/26 – *MANCHESTER UNITED*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Neck and neck with Aston Villa in the relegation battle, the Watford Hornets need a better result than Villa and hope to get it on the road against Arsenal. The only problem with that is the fact that they are absolute ass.

Watford has been relatively non-competitive their last few matches and with Arsenal coming off a road letdown against aforementioned Aston Villa, I think they bounce back here at very fair -110 odds.

As for the second match listed, Manchester United has put up back to back poor performances against Chelsea and West Ham. However, they have been much better than Leicester City overall since the restart. This game is for a Champion’s League spot and I expect the deeper, more talented team to handle business on the road.

This article focuses on 7/22 EPL/Interleague Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

7/22 EPL/Interleague Slate

It is the final weekday of the English Premier League before the grand finale on Sunday and Manchester United is the one constant, as their game is featured on both sites. The Red Devils come in heavy -455 favorites at home against West Ham, as they aim to finish ahead of Leicester City for the final Champion’s League automatic qualification spot for next season.

Where the slates get different lies in DraftKings treating this as an inter league slate, with the addition of the Napoli v. Parma game. Meanwhile, on FanDuel, the late EPL game between Liverpool and Chelsea is the other featured game on that site’s slate.

The Napoli v. Parma game begins a half hour after the Manchester United game, whereas the Liverpool v. Chelsea game starts a couple hours afterwards.

EPL/Interleague Best Bets

Napoli (-180) at Parma (+450) – Under 3 Goals (-120) – 1:30 PM ET – Wednesday 7/22 – *NAPOLI*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

I just don’t think there’s a lot of value in Manchester United at -455, particularly given West Ham’s strong recent form. It’s fine if they’re the chalk in DFS, but I won’t eat the money line.

One of the two primary goal scoring forwards, Dries Mertens, is an injury doubt, but Napoli still has more than enough weapons available to take care of a struggling Parma side. The other man up front for Napoli, Lorenzo Insigne, is due for some positive regression given how many shots he has been firing off recently.

Plus, Napoli has capable fill ins such as Matteo Politano, Jose Callejon, and Mexican national team player Hirving “Chucky” Lozano. Should the latter start, in DFS, he will be Hirving “Chalky” Lozano., between his $6,600 price tag and forward eligibility.

7/22 EPL FanDuel Rankings

Forward/Midfield

  • 1. Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United – $20 “+114 goal scoring odds”
  • 2. Anthony Martial – Manchester United – $19 “-107 goal scoring odds”

  • 4. Aaron Wan-Bissaka – Manchester United – $4,900

Goalies

  1. David De Gea – Manchester United – $5,900
  2. Alex Meret – Napoli – $5,500

7/22 MKF Pick

Given that it is a high threshold for Mason Greenwood to hit, might as well aim for the under, which is the percentage play. As for Jarrod Bowen, with the consistency he has shown recently, when combined with the extremely low threshold of just one shot at goal, the over makes sense.

Monday 7/20 EPL Slate

There are games Monday-Wednesday this week to finish off this next to last EPL match week before a giant Sunday slate finale where every team will play at once.

Today’s slate is a three gamer which involves two 1pm ET games, followed by one 3:15pm ET game. None of these games are very sexy, to say the least.

Up first, we have Brighton clashing with Newcastle, as well as the kings of defense and 1-0 victories, Sheffield United, taking on Everton. Afterwards, we have Wolves facing another “exciting” team in Crystal Palace. Goals will be at a minimum, that’s for sure.

EPL Best Bets

Crystal Palace (+700) at Wolves (-750) – Over 3.5 Goals (-110) – 3:15 PM ET – Monday 7/20 – *WOLVES*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

To say that this game will likely be low scoring is an understatement.

Wolves have been playing excellent defense as of late, albeit not scoring a ton. Meanwhile, defense is about all Crystal Palace does nowadays as the goals seem to get rarer and rarer for them.

Wolves have the better team and at home should be able to grab a dull 1-0 victory.

7/20 EPL FanDuel Rankings

Forward/Midfield

  • 1. Raul Jimenez – Wolves – $22
  • 2. Richarlison – Everton – $21
  • 3. Diego Jota – Wolves – $17
  • 4. Dwight Gayle – Newcastle – $17
  • 5. Jonjo Shelvey – Newcastle- $13
  • 6. Miguel Almiron – Tottenham – $15
  • 7. Valentino Lazaro – Newcastle – $8
  • 8. Neal Maupay – Brighton – $19
  • 9. John Fleck – Sheffield United – $8
  • 10. Oliver McBurnie – Sheffield United – $18
  • 11. Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton – $17

Defense

  • 1. Matt Ritchie – Newcastle – $10 – CORE PLAY
  • 2. Tyrick Mitchell – Crystal Palace – $6
  • 3. Jarrod Branthwaite – Everton – $7
  • 4. Grant Baldock – Sheffield United – $9
  • 5. Lucas Digne – Everton – $15
  • 6. Wily Boly – Wolves – $15

Goalies

  1. Rui Patricio – Wolves – $14
  2. Martin Dubravka – Newcastle – $8
  3. Dean Henderson – Sheffield United – $12

7/20 EPL DraftKings Rankings

Forward

  • 1. Miguel Almiron – Newcastle – $7,400
  • 2. Dwight Gayle – Newcastle – $6,500
  • 3. Richarlison – Everton – $9,000
  • 4. Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Everton – $7,300
  • 5. Neal Maupay – Brighton – $8,300

Midfield

  • 1. Jonjo Shelvey – Newcastle – $6,700
  • 2. Oliver Norwood – Sheffield United – $6,200
  • 3. Solly March – Brighton – $6,100
  • 4. Aaron Mooy – Brighton – $5,900
  • 5. Matt Ritchie – Newcastle – $8,700

Defense “Rough Position outside Lucas Digne”

  • 1. Lucas Digne – Everton – $7,200 – CORE PLAY
  • 2. Danny Rose – Newcastle – $4,600
  • 3. JUST PUNT AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE – ANYONE STARTING, BUMP IF ON THE WING

Goalies

  1. Martin Dubravka – Newcastle – $4,100
  2. Dean Henderson – Sheffield United – $5,100

7/20 MKF Pick

Assuming Wolves win 1-0, Raul Jimenez is the most likely man to get them on the board, so the over on the 2.5 works here as he can also achieve that via an assist and shot on goal.

On the other side, Wilfred Zaha has at least one shot on goal in three consecutive games, so let’s take the over on his 0.5 benchmark.

This article focuses on 7/15 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

Wednesday 7/15 EPL Slate

We are officially down to only three match weeks and now many games are meaningful. However, this slate, only one team, Bournemouth, has anything specific to play for. They will look to keep the dream alive for another week as they face impending relegation and who knows what their future will hold beyond that.

We have the two big powerhouses Manchester City and Liverpool who seem to be paired on every slate now lately on FanDuel. Man City in particular should dominate ownership on this slate, given their tremendous win odds. It is a certainty that the ownership will definitely go their way on DraftKings, considering that the late game isn’t included at all there.

EPL Best Bets

Bournemouth (+1500) at Man City (-750) – Over 3.5 Goals (-110) – 1:00 PM ET – Wednesday 7/15 – *MAN CITY*

DraftKings | FanDuel

Liverpool (-115) at Arsenal (+285) – Under 3 Goals (-125) – 3:15 PM ET – Wednesday 7/15 – *LIVERPOOL*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Bournemouth was able to pull out an epic win last match week, coming back from a 1-0 deficit around the 65th minute to beat Leicester City, 4-1.

They saved themselves from relegation for one week but it all ends here. Manchester City should absolutely smash the Cherries hopes and dreams of remaining in the English Premier League into pieces.

As for Liverpool, they were involved one of the biggest letdowns last week with their tie against Burnley. However, they still had Burnley goaltender Nick Pope absolutely standing on his head.

Now the Reds get Arsenal, who they have pummeled in virtually every recent meeting over the last few years. An underwhelming performance against this familiar foe and you will know that Liverpool has truly stopped caring this season.

7/15 EPL FanDuel Rankings

Forward/Midfield

  • 1. Kevin De Bruyne – Manchester City – $22
  • 2. Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City – $18
  • 3. Raheem Sterling – Manchester City – $21

Raheem “the dream” Sterling has been heating up as of late and gets a juicy matchup against a team staring relegation in the face. With that said, Junior Stanislaus has three goals over his last two games despite coming off the bench after halftime last game. I’ll take the over as he should at least pick up one SOG.

This article focuses on 7/11 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

Saturday 7/11 EPL Slate

This Saturday because two of the games are very early games, we are limited to a three game slate on both sites. The games are also spread apart one at a time, so be sure to double check lineups at least 30-45 minutes before each game locks.

There are four weeks left to the EPL season and this is the beginning of Matchweek 35/38.

Liverpool and Manchester City are the biggest favorite on the slate, with the latter fresh off a 5-0 smashing of Newcastle. This looks a lot like the Wednesday slate only with Chelsea the third wheel this time around.

EPL Best Bets

Man City (-315) at Brighton (+800) – Over 3 Goals (-105) – 1:00 PM ET – Saturday 7/11 – *MAN CITY*

DraftKings | FanDuel

Burnley (+1000) at Liverpool (-400) – Over 3 Goals (-125) – 10:00 AM ET – Saturday 7/11 – *LIVERPOOL*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

I am taking a huge leap of faith and going out on a limb here, but surprise, surprise, let’s just go with Manchester City and Liverpool. You have the EPL’s two top teams on a three game slate, so makes sense. It makes for a cash game style parlay. Liverpool will be home at Anfield where they just don’t lose. Meanwhile, Manchester City and Brighton is a mismatch, to say the least.

If you want to add from there you can try Chelsea. However, Sheffield United has been stifling teams with their solid defense over the last few games so it is no easy day at the office.

7/11 MKF Pick

Kevin De Bruyne was actually one of the lower scoring Man City attackers last slate. It is unlikely that this happens for a second consecutive game, considering his role on set pieces and as the penalty kick taker. Unfortunately, MKF won’t go up until after tomorrow’s La Liga odds, but wherever he is available, just take the over.

This article focuses on 7/8 EPL Picks for DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbook and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large.

7/8 EPL Slate

Wednesday, we continue the 34th of the 38 match weeks with a three game slate on DraftKings and a four game slate on FanDuel.

Manchester City is a huge favorite against Newcastle and should be the mother of all chalk on both sites.

EPL Best Bets

Newcastle (+2000) at Man City (-775) – Over 3.5 Goals (-105) – 1:00 PM ET – Wednesday 7/8 – *MAN CITY*

DraftKings | FanDuel

Liverpool (-175) at Brighton (+475) – Under 2.5 Goals (-120) – 3:15 PM ET – Wednesday 7/8 – *LIVERPOOL*

DraftKings | FanDuel

The Betting Game Plan

Manchester City is coming off an absolutely awful 1-0 loss against Southampton. However, this seems like the bounce back spot.

7/8 MKF Pick

After resting last game, Kevin De Bruyne should be back in the lineup and ready to handle business. As for the second piece of the parlay, Miguel Almiron has at least one SOG in five of his last six games, so might as well take the over on him grabbing one.
