10/24 NHL DFS Centers

Logan Couture (FD $7,300 | DK $5,800) – Couture has put up an impressive seven points in his last seven games. Although not producing and spectacular performances, Couture has been a consistent point producer and figures to be a solid stackable center in Cash games.

Nick Bonino (FD $3,900 | DK $4,000) – Despite being on the third line Bonino has had strong performances as of late with four points in his last four games. Bonino has an extremely low price tag and figures to be a strong GPP play against a defensively questionable side in the Minnestoa Wild. Bonino has also seen an upward trend in his ice-time and figures to start on Nashvilles second power play unit.
Honorable Mention: Sean Couturier, Jack Eichel

10/24 NHL DFS Wingers

Denis Malgin (FD $3,600 | DK $3,700) – Despite being on the third line, Malgin has begun an impressive three-game point streak managing to score two goals on just three shots, with one coming on the power play. Given Malgin’s price, he works better as a GPP punt play rather than a stack.

Travis Konecny (FD $6,500 | DK $6,600) – Konecny has had a superb start to the season registering a point in all but one of his seven games, giving him 10 points entering tonight’s game, Konecny works well in a stack alongside his linemates Lindblom and Couturier and figures to see around 17 minutes of ice-time including power-play time.
HM: Nick Schmaltz, Kappo Kakkko

10/24 NHL DFS Defensemen

Ryan Ellis (FD $5,300 | DK $5,800) – Ellis has been a monster when it comes to assists this season with nine in his last five games. Ellis will play tonight against a Minnesota side with a very lackluster defense and an abysmal 1-5-0 away record. Despite a strong start to the season by Stalock, Nashville’s offense is simply overwhelming and Ellis figures to see around 23 minutes of ice time tonight.

John Carlson (FD $7,100 | DK $7,200) – Much like his teammate, Zibanejad Trouba hit the ground running in his first three games of the season with a goal and three assists while averaging 24 minutes of ice-time per game. Trouba carries a price tag on the higher end but works well in a Rangers stack alongside Buchnevich, Panarin and Zibanejad, given that they all play together on the Rangers top power play unit.
HM: Tony DeAngelo

10/24 NHL DFS Goalies

10/24 NHL DFS Goalies

Pekka Rinne (FD $8,900 | DK $8,300) – Rinne is currently 5-0-1 to start the season with the sole loss coming by way of shootout. Although his puck stopping abilities have varied depending on the night, he has been able to get the wins. Given that his team is top of the league in goals while his opponents are near the bottom of the league in goals, I see no issue with him pulling out another win in Smashville.

Carter Hutton (FD $8,700 | DK $7,400) – Hutton has held on to his strong form and will be taking it to the Big Apple tonight against the slumping Rangers. Hutton has simply been unreal this season with a perfect 6-0-0 record a GAA at 1.66 and an astronomical save percentage of .943. The Rangers are on a five game losing skid while the Sabres will look to embark on a four-game winning streak tonight. The Rangers still have potent offensive pieces so exercise caution when playing Hutton.
HM: Darcy Kuemper

10/24 NHL DFS STACKS & CASH PLAY OF THE NIGHT

Washington Capitals 1 – Ovechkin has really been lighting the lamp this season with points in his last eight games, not to mention leading the league in shots at 50 through 11 games. His linemates have been similarly impressive with Carlson and Oshie both holding lengthy point streaks this season. In John Carlson’s case, there has only been one game in which he did not register a point. Expect high ownership from this stack but it is the clear cut play of the night
HM: St. Louis Blues 1, Buffalo Sabres 1

10/24 NHL DFS Game Stacks

Philadelphia vs Chicago – Both teams have been very prone to allowing goals this season and both currently have losing records because of it. To add to the damage both teams are set to start their weaker goalies for tonight’s matchup. Although Elliott’s numbers have slightly improved this season, there is not enough of a shift to recognize it as anything more than a statistical blip as his GAA has relatively remained the same. For this game stack, go with Chicago Blackhawks 2 and Philadelphia Flyers 2

10/17 NHL DFS Punts
Kirby Dach (FD $3,200 | DK $3,400) Kirby Dach scored Chicago’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to the Golden Knights in his first game on the second line. Dach contributes to the affordability of Chicago’s second line and is a must-play alongside Patrick Kane.

Brian Boyle (FD $3,000 | DK $3,200) – Brian Boyle is set to play on the Panthers’ second line for his second start of the season. In his first start, he only played 14 minutes but still managed to record three shots and three blocked shots. Given his low price tag, he is ideal in a bargain stack alongside Hoffman and Connolly

Both Rinne and Stalock have had strong starts to the season and although I think Nashville has a relatively easy win here I think both goalies will get reach the over in Saves

Hey everyone, we’re back with another edition of the Daily Hot Shot here at Win Daily! Tonight, we have two NHL games for the main slate. We’ll do a quick game-by-game breakdown followed by locks, punts, defensemen and goalies. Remember: for two-game slates it may be acceptable to play skaters against your goalie but its never advisable unless it’s in an attempt to create a variance.

Detroit Red Wings vs Ottawa Senators – Ottawa is in serious trouble this season. If they’re not careful they could quickly become the league’s laughingstock with an 1-7-0 record thus far. Tonight’s game will be Ottawa’s most “winnable” matchup since the start of the season as both teams are looking to end lengthy losing streaks. Neither goalie is particularly good in this matchup and I can see this one getting ugly for both sides fast. I have skaters on both sides of this matchup in play.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Tampa Bay Lightning – Given that the Pens lost to the Panthers last night and now have to take a bus up to Tampa Bay, this definitely isn’t their ideal situation. Tonight will be the second half of a back-to-back and the Pens will start backup goalie Tristan Jarry, who is 1-1 to start the season but overall hasn’t found much success at the NHL level.

Pittsburgh has also had its fair share of injury trouble to begin the season with four top-six forwards and one top-four defenseman on the disabled list. For Tampa Bay, tonight represents a pristine opportunity to set their season on the right track against a team that’s back peddling. The Bolts threw their lines in the blender, which has provided us with excellent value plays littered throughout the slate and increased the number of viable targets tonight.

Best Skate Forward

10/23 NHL DFS: Locks of the Night
1. Nikita Kucherov (FD $8,400 | DK $7,500) – Last season’s MVP, Kucherov has picked up right where he left off with eight points in eight games to start the season. Now that he is off that pricey top line, he is much more stackable with affordable pieces that complement him on even strength. Against Jarry, Kuch can do some damage.
2. Anthony Mantha (FD $6,400 | DK $6,800) – Despite not maintaining his electric start to the season, Mantha has still regularly produced offensively for the Red Wings and has been averaging just under 20 minutes of ice time per night.

Tonight, the Red Wings are facing off against Craig Anderson, who has proven yet again to be one of the worst starters in the league, not that backup Anders Nilsson is doing too much better. Expect Mantha to get on the board tonight.
3. Brady Tkachuk (FD $5,200 | DK $6,300) – Tkachuk is Ottawa’s clear cut best forward and despite the fact that I don’t think Ottawa will take this one, Brady will at least give them a fighting chance. Brady is averaging around 19 minutes per game and appears on the top power-play unit. Although his team has been atrocious defensively, his opponents haven’t done much better, with Detroit allowing more goals per game than Ottawa through nine games.

If this becomes a true barn-burner, Tkachuk will have to get involved in the scoring.
Honorable Mention: Steven Stamkos

Punting on a Wednesday Night

10/23 NHL DFS: Punts of the Night
1. Anthony Cirelli (FD $4,500 | DK $5,000) – As mentioned earlier, Tampa Bay’s lines hit the blender, which placed Cirelli alongside the aforementioned Nikita Kucherov. Cirelli has been able to find the scoresheet with four assists in eight games while averaging around 18 minutes of ice time per game. Alongside Kuch, I can see this number go up. Again, Tampa Bay will be facing a tired squad with a backup tendy at their own barn.
2. Vladislav Namestikov (FD $5,200 | DK $5,000) – Since being acquired from the Rangers, Namestikov has been one of Ottawas top performers, despite not playing on Ottawa’s top line. Against Jonathan Bernier, Namestikov should be able to light the lamp but I remain cautious without stronger line support.
3. Mathieu Joseph (FD $3,600 | DK $4,800) – Joseph has tallied three points this season despite only averaging around 12 minutes per game. That ought to change as the new lines pair him alongside Steven Stamkos. The young winger still poses a significant risk but is very affordable and easily stackable with the former first overall pick.
HM: Connor Brown

The Defense Never Rests

10/23 NHL DFS: Defensemen of the Night
1. Filip Hronek (FD $3,900 | DK $4,600) – Hronek has been playing crazy minutes for the Wings this season and has put points to show for it with a goal and three assists through nine games. Hronek is extremely affordable and pairs well alongside Detroit’s pricey top line. Of course, the Craig Anderson effect may result in Hronek ending up on the score sheet.
2. Thomas Chabot (FD $5,300 | DK $6,200) – Probably Ottawa’s only capable defenseman, Chabot anchors the team’s top line and the top power-play unit, posting on average, almost 27 minutes of ice time each night. To his credit, Chabot is leading Ottawa’s defenseman in points with six in eight games.

The real draw to Chabot, however, is his peripheral stats. Chabot has been averaging around two blocked shots and three shots per game, adding to his DFS total at the end of the night
3. Kevin Shattenkirk (FD $5,700 | DK $5,100) – A bit of a stealth pick here, Shattenkirk is experiencing a bit of a renaissance this season with the Lightning. Through eight games, Shattenkirk has put up four goals and three assists while averaging around 21 minutes of ice time per game. Shattenkirk will find himself with Tampa’s second power play unit and will find ice time with the top three stars as well.
HM: Kris Letang

Yes, Virginia, Jonathan Bernier is the Answer

10/23 NHL DFS: Goalies of the Night
1. Andrei Vasilevskiy (FD $8,500 | DK $8,000) – Despite a weak performance in his last start, it seems to be nothing more than a blip on the reigning Vezina winner’s radar. Vas will be up against a tired and broken Pens team and should face his fair share of shots, but will be able to secure a win tonight.
2. Jonathan Bernier (FD $7,200 | DK $7,500) – I honestly can’t believe I am recommending Bernier, but that is what a two-game slate against Ottawa has brought us to. Bernier has been mediocre this season but has still shown flashes of his true self. The only thing going for him tonight is his opponent.

Besides the fact that the Sens are on a four-game losing streak, Ottawa has one of the worst goals per game averages, only just slightly better than the Stars, who are last in the category. To their credit, Ottawa has averaged a fair amount of shots per game but has trouble finding the back of the net. In this case, that benefits Bernier, who happens to be a super GPP play, even to the point where a punt or two against him may work.

For this prop, I cannot see Ottawa cruising past 30 shots. Even so, I do not see Bernier stopping all the shots he faces tonight. Choose the under for Bernier’s save totals.
As mentioned earlier, Chabot is the King of peripheral stats as far as tonight’s slate goes. To even give him the bonus 0.5 is interesting. I recommend choosing Chabot to get more Shots + Blocked Shots than Larkin.

**Exercise caution on these smaller slates, very little room for error and very heavy chalk. Due to size of slate players listed will be limited to two per position.

10/20 NHL DFS Centers

Adam Henrique (ANH) – Calgary Flames take on the Anaheim Ducks on the second leg of a back to back. Anaheim is coming off a day of rest, and at home. They are a top six team in terms of scoring differential, only allowing a GAA of 1.75. In five out of nine games this season, the Calgary Flames have allowed four or more goals. Adam Henrique has been a top contributor for the Ducks and has tallied five goals on 22 shots, one assist, and seven blocks.

Connor McDavid (EDM) – McDavid serves on the third best scoring team in the NHL through eight games. They average close to four goals per game and allow a GAA of 2.38. A big part of what has made the Oilers so great eight games into the year is their league best 41.7% Power Play percentage. Connor McDavid has five goals on 22 shots and 12 assists through five games this season.

Honorables -Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (EDM), Nicklas Backstrom (WSH)

10/20 NHL DFS Wingers

Rickard Rakell (ANH) – I like to have correlation in my lines and Rakell comes in at a great salary in comparison to his performance this season. He has three goals on 28 shots and three assists. Rakell ice time is trending upward and is projected to serve on the first unit, so hopefully he will see around 20 minutes tonight.

T.J. Oshie (WSH) – Oshie has provided a fairly safe floor through eight games, with single digit fantasy performances in only two of them. Chicago is currently allowing three goals per game and I think the Capitals will do even more damage than that. Oshie has six goals on 21 shots, 2 assists, and four blocks through nine games this season.

Honorables – Jakob Silfverburg (ANH), James Neal (EDM).

10/20 NHL DFS Defensemen

Oscar Klefbom (EDM) – I think you kind of get the gist of where I’m going with this Edmonton team tonight. They are my favorite Power Play unit on this short slate and I will look to get a four man stack in most of my builds. Klefbom is projected to serve on the first PP unit and is a top defensemen. He has one goal on 18 shots, eight assists, and 17 blocks through eight games.

John Carlson (WSH) – The four time All-Star defender is off to a very hot 2019-20 campaign. He has three goals on 14 shots, 14 assists, and 19 blocks. He is averaging 25 minutes of ice time and has scored two game-winning goals already this season.

Honorables – Darnell Nurse (EDM), Hampus Lindholm (ANH)

10/20 NHL DFS Goalies

John Gibson (ANH) – Gibson comes in as the highest priced goalie on the slate, but is well worth the spend. He is 4-2 heading into tonight’s game and carries a strong .942 SV%. The All-Star goalie will look to continue his strong play against a Calgary team on a back to back.

Mikko Koskinen (EDM) – The Winnipeg Jets are slight favorite over Edmonton, but I have to give the edge to Edmonton tonight. Their strong power play performance and modest 2.38 GAA has me convinced Edmonton will leave Winnipeg with the win tonight. Koksi has a .934 SV% and has yet to register a loss this season.

Honorables – Braden Holtby (WSH)

10/20 NHL DFS STACKS

Edmonton Oilers – FL#1: Connor McDavid/Leon Draisaitl/Darnell Nurse

Washington Capitals – FL#1: Niklas Backstrom/T.J. Oshie/John Carlson/Alex Ovechkin

Honorable
s: Anaheim Ducks FL1, Winnipeg FL2

10/20 NHL DFS Power Play of the Day

Edmonton Oilers – PP#1: Connor McDavid/Leon Draisaitl/Darnell Nurse/Oscar Klefbom

10/20 NHL DFS Salary Savers

Tom Wilson (WSH), Michal Kempny (WSH), Zack Kassian (EDM), Alex Chiasson (EDM), Drake Caggigula (CHI).

10/20 NHL DFS Monkey Knife Fight Prop Pick of the Day

Connor McDavid – Five Goals, 12 Assists, 17 Points : Predicting one goal and two assists for McDavid against the Jets.

John Carlson – Three Goals, 14 Assists, 17 Points in 2019. Predicting Carlson to have one goal and two assists against the Blackhawks.

Leon Draisaitl – Six Goals, 10 assists, 16 points. Predicting one goal and one assist for Draisaitl against the jets

All three of the plays I listed above are averaging over two points per game.

The weekend is finally upon us! We have a nine-game Saturday Night Slate to dig into tonight. There are some interesting value plays and other strong options do discuss. Let’s take a look!

10/19 NHL DFS Centers

Alexander Kerfoot (FD $4,600 | DK $3,600) – Kerfoot has gotten an upgrade to the second line for tonight’s matchup with Tavares being sidelined with a finger injury. He is set to see an increase in ice-time and will play alongside Mitch Marner during even strength.

Sean Couturier (FD $6,900 | DK $5,700) – Has averaged 20 minutes a game centering the top line and second power play unit. Couturier has two assists in his last two games and has racked up 11 shots. Couturier pairs well alongside Konecny and Provorov
Honorable Mention: Christian Dvorak

10/19 NHL DFS Wingers

Reilly Smith (FD $5,900 | DK $6,000) – Despite his strong performances, Smith’s price hasn’t gone up too high and he is still a great fit for most lines. The top-line winger has goals in each of his last three games and will be facing off against a Pittsburgh team that will be starting their backup in the second half of a back-to-back. You won’t get a much better value play under 6K especially not while seeing 20 minutes of ice time.

Nick Schmaltz (FD $5,000 | DK $5,400) *Arizona 2 Chalk* – Schmaltz’s price has also remained reasonably affordable despite his recent strong performances. Despite the fact that he is seeing limited ice-time he has still managed to put up seven points in his last four games, one of which came on the power play on Arizona’s second unit. Arizona will also be up against one of the worst goalies in the league in Anderson. If Schmaltz will have any chance of continuing his recent success it will be tonight against the lowly Sens.
HM: Oskar Lindblom

10/19 NHL DFS Defensemen

Mark Giordano (FD $6,700 | DK $6,700) *Calgary 1 Chalk* – Giordano is in one of the best defensive spots on the slate and is well worth the high price tag. The former All-Star sees a majority of Calgary’s defensive minutes and has recorded three points in his last two appearances. He is also known for accumulating high levels of both shots and blocked shots and being a strong presence on Calgary’s top power-play unit. Not to mention he will be up against one of the league’s worst starters tonight in Jonathan Quick.

Ivan Provorov (FD $4,700 | DK $4,900) – Provorov has had a strong start to the season with three points in his first two games. Despite a slight drop in production as of late, the Flyers defenseman will average around 23 minutes of ice time per game and is capable of accumulating both shots and blocked shots. He is also a very stackable defenseman and will be playing against a Dallas side that is on the second half of a back-to-back.
HM: Shea Theodore, Mackenzie Weegar

10/19 NHL DFS Goalies

David Rittich (FD $8,200 | DK $8,100) – Big Save Dave is going up against a much weaker opponent in the Kings, who are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak. The Kings also have an extremly low goals per game rate considering how many shots they are putting on target. Rittich is also coming off two stellar one GA performances and put up 36 saves in his last game against the Kings.

Antti Raanta (FD $7,500 | DK $8,200) – Raanta is a salary saver option in goal tonight and consider he’s facing off against the Ottawa Senators, who are among the league’s worst in goals per game average, along with a power-play conversion rate of zero. The dangers in front of Raanta tonight do not resemble his last start against the Avalanche, which ended with a goal from Burakovsky in OT. He will have a much stronger appearance tonight at home against the Sens, who have yet to win an away game.
HM: Carter Hart

10/19 NHL DFS Punts

Calle Jarnkrok (FD $3,600 | DK $3,300) – Jarnkrok is still too cheap to ignore and has put up four points in his last four games. He will be seeing increasing amounts of ice-time now that he is on the top line and will be facing off against Florida backup Montembault as the Panthers are on the second half of a back-to-back. Jarnkrok is also very stackable as his linemate Johansen is also very reasonably priced, especially on FanDuel.

Patrick Marleau (FD $4,700 | DK $4,600) – Marleau has recorded three points in his first three starts since returning to the Sharks and has consistently averaged around 15 minutes a game on San Jose’s top line. He is also stackable alongside his linemate Timo Meier or could work as a one-off punt. Not to mention, he will appear on San Jose’s second power play unit.

10/19 NHL DFS Optimal Game Stack

Buffalo Sabres 1 – San Jose Sharks 2 – Both teams currently have hot offenses and hot power plays along with risky goaltending and shaky defensive cores. Not to mention they are both affordable together and have high implied totals with the Sharks edging out slightly higher. The O/U is currently set at 6 but it wouldnt surprise me if this game surpassed it. As San Jose are favored at home, however, they are facing the league’s seventh-best offence.
HM: Boston Bruins 1 – Toronto Maple Leafs 2

The NHL has presented us with a Thursday night, nine-game slate. We will go for a position by position breakdown tonight. There are some intriguing plays and strong stacks to consider, let’s get into it!

Sign up NOW for WIN DAILY Premium Gold right here! DFS Pro Cheat Sheets, projections, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats with our DFS Pros and more!

10/17 NHL DFS Centers

Mika Zibanejad (FD $7,600 | DK $7,800) – He will highlight the top line of the Hudson River Rivalry that is set to take place tonight. Unfortunately for the Devils, they have yet to win a game this season. They are giving up the second-highest goals allowed per game in the league at 4.5 goals allowed, keeping them steadily in the last place. In just three games, Zibanejad has scored eight points (four goals, four assists), giving him the highest points per game this season by far.

Paul Stastny (FD $5,400 | DK $6,200) – Member of the biggest line lock of the night, Stastny and Company will be going up against the lowly Sens, who are settling at third-last in the league with one win and four losses to start the season. With the game in Vegas, Ottawa will need a prayer and that might not even do it. Stastny’s price has remained relatively cheap despite being on the highest producing line on his team and bagging six points in his last three games (three goals, three assists).
Honorable Mention: Sean Couturier

10/17 NHL DFS Wingers

JT Miller (FD $5,600 | DK $4,700) – Miller has been on fire to start the season and has proven to be one of the Canucks’ best offseason pickups. Miller leads the team in scoring given that he scored six points in his last three games (three goals, three assists). Miller has been averaging around 18 minutes of ice-time per game but given his recent performances, it wouldn’t be a surprise if that increased. Not to mention he appears on the Canucks deadly top power-play unit. Finally, Miller will be playing against the Blues, who have had a rather mediocre start to the season and have coughed up a fair amount of goals, 3.33 per game to be exact. I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller got on the end of one of them.

David Pastrnak (FD $8,500 | DK $7,500) – Pastrnak is simply an elite winger, if you’re looking for a low-owned play with a safe floor Pastrnak is your guy, as he leads the Bruins with 10 points in six games, followed by his linemates Marchand and Bergeron. Last game, Pastrnak lit up one of the league’s best in John Gibson for four goals en route to his team’s 4-2 win over the Ducks last Monday.
HM: Nick Schmaltz

10/17 NHL DFS Defensemen

Alexander Edler (FD $5,800 | DK $6,300) – Vancouver’s lead power powerplay defenseman has registered four points in his last three games and has averaged a whopping 25 minutes of average ice-time throughout the season. It is clear coach Travis Green has faith in the veteran Swede and given the leakage, the Blues have been prone to thus far this season, Edler holds value as a stack option alongside the Canucks’ top line (Miller, Pettersson, Boeser)

Jacob Trouba (FD $5,800 | DK $6,000) – Much like his teammate, Zibanejad Trouba hit the ground running in his first three games of the season with a goal and three assists while averaging 24 minutes of ice-time per game. Trouba carries a price tag on the higher end but works well in a Rangers stack alongside Buchnevich, Panarin and Zibanejad, given that they all play together on the Rangers top power play unit.
HM: Shea Theodore, Ryan Ellis

10/17 NHL DFS Goalies

Pekka Rinne (FD $8,700 | DK $8,000) – Rinne is a perfect 4-0-0 to start the season and will have one of the best offensive teams in front of him with a CF% of 51.48. The Preds also lead the league in goals and have the sixth-highest shots per game total in the league. Rinne will be pricey but if you’re looking for a safe play between the pipes Rinne is the way to go.

Carter Hutton (FD $8,500 | DK $7,800) – Hutton has been as good as Rinne if not better. He too holds a perfect 4-0-0 record and holds an extremely low 1.74 GAA. The Kings shoot a lot but don’t turn the offensive production into goals nearly enough, as they are currently hovering around the middle of the league in goals per game while posting the second-most shots on goal per game in the league. Furthermore, the Kings have started the season on the back foot with a 2-4-0 record and look to be starting Jonathan Quick, who holds an abysmal stat line at 0-3-0, a GAA of 6.44 and a Save Percentage below .800.
HM: Alexander Georgiev

10/17 NHL DFS STACKS & CASH PLAY OF THE NIGHT

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – This line should be an auto-lock tonight. Stat-wise this line is far and away the most intriguing option and with that will come the super high ownership, especially in cash. This is the good kind of chalk and given the price of some of their player such as Stastny and Theodore, they are surprisingly stackable with other strong options tonight.
HM
New York Rangers 1 (Zibanejad, Panarin, Trouba), Buffalo Sabres 1 (Reinhart, Eichel, Olofsson)

10/17 NHL DFS Game Stacks

Vancouver vs St. Louis – Both of these teams are very offensive-minded, with both teams averaging over three goals a game. The optimal game stack would be Vancouver’s top line alongside St. Louis’ second line, and alternatively their first line. Statistically, these two teams are very evenly matched and this game could turn into a shootout.

10/17 NHL DFS Punts
Calle Jarnkrok (FD $3,600 | DK $3,500) Jarnkrok will be playing on Nashville’s top line and although Kuemper has had his moments to start the season. The Preds are leading the league in goals with 4.67 per game, one of which came from Jarnkrok last game. Over his past three games, Jarnkrok has had four assists and has steadily been seeing an increase in ice-time each and every game. If Forsberg is held out of tonight’s contest the winger will be set to see even more ice time. The fact that he plays on the Preds’ top power play unit only adds to his value.

Quinn Hughes (FD $4,000 | DK $3,700) Quinn has had his moments this season but has largely been overshadowed by the success of his defensive teammate Alexander Edler. In a pinch, Hughes still provides excellent value as he has registered three points in his first five games while averaging 20 minutes of ice time per night and playing on the Canucks second power-play unit. Hughes is the future of Vancouver’s defensive core and will definitely be in the mix when considering low owned Canuck plays tonight. Hughes pairs well alongside Tanner Pearson.
HM: Sean Walker

**Exercise caution on these smaller slates, very little room for error and very heavy chalk. Due to size of slate players listed will be limited to two per position.

10/13 NHL DFS Centers

Mark Scheifele (WPG) – Winnipeg is the obvious chalk for this evenings short slate, as they carry the highest implied scoring total (3.50) Scheifele has one goal, seven assists, and four blocks through five games this season. Winnipeg is a top three team in terms of shots on goal (200) through five games this season, so FL1 and FL2 should see plenty of opportunity.

Sydney Crosby (PIT) – Crosby has been an animal through five games. He has two goals, four assists and three blocks and will have face the Winnipeg Jets who allow more shots on goal than any team in the league through five games (211).

Honorable Mention: Tomas Hertl (SJS), Max Pacioretty (VGK)

10/13 NHL DFS Wingers

Mark Stone (VGK) – This Vegas line provides some relief across the board so you can spend up on defense. Mark Stone has two goals, four assists, and two blocks The LA Kings allow the highest GAA in the NHL at 5.25 through four games, so these Vegas lines should see plenty of opportunity.

Kevin Labanc (SJS) – The main reason I like Labanc on this slate is the Power Play lineup for San Jose. They rank fourth in the league in PP opportunity (20) but have yet to cash in. They face a Calgary team that has allowed four PP goals in five games. LaBanc has one goal on the year but is averaging three shots a game. If the San Jose PP unit can get some decent ice time tonight I think Labanc can pay off easily.

Honorable Mention: Blake Wheeler (WPG), Matthew Tkachuk (CGY).

10/13 NHL DFS Defensemen

Brent Burns (SJS) – Just go ahead and hit the lock button on Burns. He has 21 shots on goal through five games, two goals, three assists, and three blocks. He has averaged over 26 minutes of ice time in the 2019-20 season and a lot of that has to do with the Power Play opportunities. Calgary has allowed the fifth most shots on goal (172) through five games.

Kris Letang (PIT) – Letang has provided a very safe floor of around 17 fantasy points per game through his first five games. He has one goal on 14 shots, three assists, and five blocks. He also serves on PIT PP1 and they have seen the third most opportunities (21) in 2019.

Honorable Mention: Erik Karlsson (SJS), Shea Theodore (VGK)

10/7 NHL DFS Goalies

Connor Hellebuyck (WPG) – Hellebuyck is off to a nice start in 2019. He carries a 3-1 record and is averaging over 30 fpts per game. He had a very solid outing in his first game against PIT where he stopped 37 of 38 shots with one goal allowed. Hellebuyck carries a .937 SV% through five games and will face a Penguins team that is averaging just over two goals per game.

Honorable Mention: Malcolm Subban (VGK)

10/13 NHL DFS STACKS

Winnipeg Jets – FL#1: Blake Wheeler/Mark Scheifele/Josh Morrissey

Vegas Golden Knights – FL#2: Max Pacioretty/Mark Stone/Shea Theodore

10/13 NHL DFS Power Play of the Day

San Jose Sharks PP1: Logan Couture/Brent Burns/Tomas Hertl/Kevin Labanc

Hey guys, for the second time in a row we have an 11-game slate to follow up a three-game slate the day before. That being said there is a lot to cover on tonight’s slate. The action begins at 7 pm ET with the final puck drop at 10 pm. Let’s get started on the 10/12 NHL DFS slate!

TORONTO vs. DETROIT – Toronto has a lot of fire-power but they have also been bleeding defensively in almost every game, relying on their high-powered offense to score their way out of problems. Detroit has had a hot start to the season but is starting to look a little shaky. On paper, this game looks like an interesting matchup but I don’t have confidence in either team regarding DFS play Targets: Matthews-Rielly (Stack), Mantha, DeKeyser, Toronto Maple Leafs 3 (Punt)

NEW JERSEY vs. BOSTON – New Jersey has been bad this season and it’s coming as a bit of a surprise given all the improvements they made over the offseason. They have yet to record a win in their 2019-20 campaign and it looks like they’ll have to wait a little longer to achieve that feat as they are going up against a strong Bruins lineup in TD Gardens. Boston also has a strong defensive core alongside their deadly (but expensive) top line. Targets: Boston Bruins 1, Coyle

ST LOUIS vs MONTREAL – St Louis has gotten off to a hot start this season and has benefitted from solid goaltending courtesy of Jordan Binnington. They will faceoff against a Montreal side that is among the leagues worst in goals allowed per game. So far this season the Blues have yet to lose on the road and Montreal has yet to win at home. Targets: St. Louis Blues 2, Pietrangelo

FLORIDA vs NEW YORK ISLANDERS – Both the Isles and the Panthers played last night and both lost on the road. Tonight they will meet up at Nassau Colesium and although the initial instinct is to favor the Panthers, neither team has been playing particularly well and, like Montreal, Florida is among the leagues worst in Goals allowed to start the season. Interesting enough, backup Sam Montembault will get his first start of the season tonight. He posted good numbers last season and it will be interesting to see how he performs. Targets: Beauvillier-Toews, Hoffman, Dadonov, Montembault (Punt)

COLOMBUS v CAROLINA – Again both these teams played last night and tonight will be a battle of the backups. In the tendy “tale of the tape” the two goalies are absolutely mismatched. Carolina will be turning to James Reimer who is a perfect 2-0 to start the season and will be entering the night sporting a .940 SV%, on the other side Columbus’ starter Elvis Merzlikins lost his only start of the season and coughed up seven goals in the process, I will be targeting Carolina against the rookie netminder tonight. Targets: Carolina Hurricanes 2, Haula, Teravainen, Reimer

WINNIPEG vs CHICAGO – This game could get out of hand. Neither goalie has been particularly impressive to start the season with both teams allowing an average of 3.6 goals per game. However, both teams are also scoring in abundance to keep themselves in games. With that being said this matchup is tonight’s ideal game stack. Targets: Winnipeg Jets 1-Chicago Blackhawks 2, Pionk, Maatta

WASHINGTON vs DALLAS – Although upon first look it seems as though this would be Dallas’ game, in actually the stats paint a much greyer picture. Neither team is scoring goals in abundance and Washington has had a positive record on the road while Dallas has struggled at home yet to secure a win. That could change tonight, however, I believe there are better plays to target in tonight’s large slate. Targets: Dallas Stars 2

PITTSBURGH v MINNESOTA – Although Pittsburgh has been mired by the injury bug to start the season that no match for the horrible case of awfulness that has struck the Wild to start the season. The Wild have lost their opening three games in regulation and have are among the leagues worst in goals allowed, allowing Pittsburgh to maintain viability despite the injury struggles. Targets: Crosby-Simon, Zuccarello

ARIZONA vs. COLORADO – Arizona was able to take advantage of a struggling Malcolm Subban in their last match but will be in a much tougher spot tonight against the Aves who are 3-0-0 this season, the Avalanche may call upon their backup Pavel Francouz to tend the twine tonight. Although this imparts a certain added risk to Colorado, Francouz did post solid numbers in his two NHL appearances last season along with solid stats in the minors last season with a .918 SV% and a 2.68 GAA. Targets: Kadri, Makar, Colorado Avalanche 1, Oesterle, Soderberg

PHILADELPHIA vs VANCOUVER – No matter what continent they’re on, the Flyers have been lights out in the NHL Regular season. After an opening salvo in Prague, the Flyers followed up with a 4-0 shutout for their home opener, the young Hart’s first of his career. Although the Canucks tore into the Kings they were the Kings, it is unlikely they will have a similar result against a more formidable opponent in the Flyers. Targets: Philadelphia Flyers 2, Provorov, Hart, Hughes, Miller

CALGARY vs VEGAS – Both teams are very dangerous offensively but also have solidified defensive cores and are among the leagues best in goals-against average. This game could work as a game stack but it will be a tight squeeze. Along with the Flyers and Canucks game, this will be the final game of the night. Targets: Calgary Flames 2-Vegas Golden Knights 2 OR Calgary Flames 2-Vegas Golden Knights 1
