We’re back with a new Sunday Night Win Daily NHL Article! I love seeing the high activity in the discord chat and the winning screenshots that have been posted lately, especially after the last Between the Benches article! Let’s continue our positive trend tonight. We have a small 4-gamer for tonight’s slate. So, let’s get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 10/31 NHL slate, the slate begins at 4:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

10/31 NHL Stack Report

  1. New York Rangers Power Play 1
    Panarin – Zibanejad – Fox (FanDuel: $22,300 | DraftKings: $21,700)
CASH LOCK: This is the top line on the slate and theyre not even really a complete line. I know, it doesnt make a lot of sense but these three are absolute savages and have far and away the best matchup of the slate against the expansion Seattle Kraken. As of late, Chris Kreider (also on this top power play, salary saving substitute for Panarin) has seen most of the Rangers goal scoring but the three members of this top of this line have kept up with Kreider on points through their assists and have all outpaced him in average ice time. Over the past two seasons we saw what these three were truly capable of as last season Panarin finished top 15 in the scoring race (finishing fourth the year before), while Zibanejad finished top 15 in total league goals (finishing fifth the year before). Adam Fox took home Norris Trophy honours as the best defenseman in the league finishing second in defenseman scoring behind Tyson Barrie. When it comes to this slate, there are not a lot of other top performing options meaning in cash games you will need these three to keep up with the rest of the pack. For cash games they are the main line of the slate.
  2. Buffalo Sabres 2
    Asplund – Thompson – Olofsson (FanDuel: $13,800 | DraftKings: $15,200)
This line just cant be stopped. On top of the fact that they are up against a lacklustre defense (their top defenseman Drew Doughty is injured) with an aging goalie, this line has produced tremendous numbers and have been largely responsible for Buffalo’s surprising run of form. Led by Victor Olofsson (2 G and 2 A in last two games, point per game this season), this line has ended up seeing the lion’s share of playing time while also coming together on Buffalo’s top line power play. This line also provides some needed salary relief considering how costly the top line of this article is. Buffalo is also coming into tonight really fresh with their last game taking place on the 28th compared to the LA Kings who are on the second half of a back to back. (Which is why Quick is playing in the first place)
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Rasmus Dahlin (FD: $4,600 | DK: $5,300)

    Honorable Mention(s): LAK1 (Brown/Kopitar/Arvidsson), CBJ2 (Bjorkstrand/Roslovic/ G. Hofmann)

10/31 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Igor Shesterkin (FD: $8,000 | DK: $7,700)
  2. Elvis Merzlikins (FD: $7,400 | DK: $7,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Dustin Tokarski

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Scott Wedgewood (FD: $6,800 | DK: $7,900)
    Honorable Mention(s): Philipp Grubauer

10/31 NHL Wild Card Targets

Anaheim Ducks 1 (FD: $13,100 | DK: $14,900)
Usually, I’d have a player in this section but today is a little different as Anaheim’s top line is coming into this slate on absolute fire and rather than listing them off individually as wild cards, I figured it would make more sense to group them in their line. The risk factor is that their pace is so high that it’s hard to tell when or if they will see any regression. For example, Troy Terry has notched points in his last seven games while his linemates (Ryan Getzlaf, Adam Henrique) have produced similar numbers with a little less consistency. This line is extremely affordable and the Ducks are up against a Montreal side who have really had trouble finding their footing to start the season, while their goalie Jake Allen is plagued with inconsistency issues. Getzlaf and Terry play on Anaheim’s top power-play unit while Henrique is on the second power-play unit. The best defenseman to stack this line with is Kevin Shattenkirk.
Honorable Mention(s): Mike Hoffman, Josh Anderson, Hayden Fleury, Ryan Graves (FanDuel)

We’re back with another Wednesday Night Win Daily NHL Article! I love seeing the high activity in the discord chat and the winning screenshots that have been posted lately. Let’s continue our positive trend tonight. We have a small 5-gamer for tonight’s slate. So, let’s get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 10/27 NHL slate, the slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

10/27 NHL Stack Report

  1. Edmonton Oilers 1
    Hyman – McDavid – Puljajarvi (FanDuel: $21,300 | DraftKings: $20,000)
CASH LOCK: It has been literally impossible to miss what this line has been able to do and of course I am referring to Edmonton’s top line. This is all due in part to McDavid and his level of play that is just miles ahead of everyone else. No matter who he is paired with in this game, they will perform well, so much so, that his two linemates were not that expensive before playing alongside him. Now that they have a few games under their belts with sky high point totals their prices have inevitably rised but not too much that takes away their value. Both Hyman and Puljajarvi compliment McDavid’s game very well and coming into tonight against a Philadelphia side who sits near the bottom of the league with their star defender (Ryan Ellis) on the sidelines, it’ll be really hard to avoid these guys tonight
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Tyson Barrie (Evan Bouchard for a Salary Saver) (FD: $5,500 | DK: $4,900)
  2. Dallas Stars 4
    Peterson – Seguin – Faksa (FanDuel: $14,500 | DraftKings: $11,000)
I cannot even explain how much I dislike these Dallas lines from a fantasy perspective. All of Dallas’ top players are on different lines and the ones that are together have been extremly inconsistent. However, when it comes to their fourth line which for some reason includes their best player (Tyler Seguin) I see some serious potential. There is some disagreement on who will be on the wings for Seguin tonight but the fantasy sites have rookie Peterson and Faksa alongside him, Faksa in particular has performed respectably this season, enough so that I dont mind a small stack pairing the two. Furthermore, Dallas will be coming into tonight against a Vegas team who is starting their weak(er) goalie, in Dallas, against a team on the second half of a back to back, with many of their top stars still on the sidelines. I have to take a piece of Dallas in that matchup. (FanDuel listed all three as Centres so they dont stack too well as a full line)
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Miro Heiskanen (FD: $6,200 | DK: $5,100)

Honorable Mention(s): WAS1 (Wilson, Kuznetzov, Ovechkin), BOS1 (Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak), FLA2 (Huberdeau, Bennett, Tippett)

10/27 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Braden Holtby (FD: $7,600 | DK: $7,700)
  2. Vitek Vanacek (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,300)
    Honorable Mention(s): Bobrovsky, Koskinen

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Laurent Brossoit (FD: $7,500 | DK: $7,700)

10/27 NHL Wild Card Targets

DraftKings

Joel Farabee (FD: $5,900 | DK: $4,700)
Lessons have not been learned, Farabee’s price has only gone up $300 on DraftKings since the last time he was a Wild Card Target (He proceeded to get a goal and an assist along with 5 shots). This is still below the season start price of $5,100 despite having three goals and three assists for six points in four games. I can’t really see the Flyers winning this game on account of coming up against one of the hottest teams in the league in their own barn, so tread lightly with Farabee but it is really hard to ignore his price.

FanDuel

Tyler Bertuzzi (FD: $5,000 | DK: $6,900)
His price makes NO sense. DraftKings rightfully has Bertuzzi as the fourth-highest-priced winger on the slate, while FanDuel put him at a bargain bin price. There is no way I am passing on Bertuzzi given the start he has had this season. In just five regular-season games Bertuzzi has put together six goals and three assists for nine points and this includes the game where the Wings were shut out by the Flames. On top of this misprice, the line in general is fairly affordable. Larkin is on the higher end but rookie winger Raymond (coming off a hattrick) and rookie defenseman Moritz Seider are both extremely affordable.
Honorable Mention(s): Robertson (if he plays, DK Only), Bouchard, Bunting, Pavelski (his DK price of 2,600 is unacceptable), Reinhart (DK Only)

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Connor McDavid

Winger Alex Ovechkin

We’re back with a new Sunday Night Win Daily NHL Article! I love seeing the high activity in the discord chat and the winning screenshots that have been posted lately, especially after the last Between the Benches article! Let’s continue our positive trend tonight. We have a small 3-gamer for tonight’s slate. So, let’s get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 10/24 NHL slate, the slate begins at 6:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

10/24 NHL Stack Report

  1. Minnesota Wild 1
    Kaprizov – Eriksson Ek – Zuccarello (FanDuel: $16,800 | DraftKings: $17,500)
CASH LOCK: I see this line as far and away the best play of the slate. We have hot forwards (starting the season with four straight wins), who all play together, are relatively affordable and are up against a struggling Nashville team who played a game last night against the Winnipeg Jets (where they lost 6-4). If Saros does not get the start for the second half of the back to back, the Preds will likely be turning to goalie Connor Ingram with David Rittich sidelined… yeah. Even if they had Rittich available, Minnesota would still be far and away the best play of this three game slate. The Wild have an implied total of 3.1 at the moment and if Ingram does start, that total will easily shoot up to the highest on the slate. Build your lineups around these guys, especially if you’re playing cash games.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jared Spurgeon (FD: $4,900 | DK: $4,800)
  2. New York Islanders 1
    Lee – Barzal – Bailey (FanDuel: $15,100 | DraftKings: $17,600)
Despite the fact that the Islanders played last night (…very well I might add), they are coming into Vegas tonight, red hot against a team that just doesnt appear to be on their level right now. Vegas has been plagued with injuries and bad goaltending. While the Islanders, have put together some strong performances with a 2-1-2 record, with two of their three losses on the year coming in close OT contests. For his price Barzal is a little too risky but he pairs exremely well with his affordable winger Josh Bailey as well as young defenseman Noah Dobson. The Isles are a sneaky play as one would traditionally favour the Golden Knights if they were healthy but the circumstances have the Islanders in a good spot. They’ll have a decent amount of exposure on a small slate like this and can make the difference in GPPs.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Noah Dobson (FD: $4,200 | DK: $3,000)

    Honorable Mention(s): VGK1 (Marchessault – Karlsson – Smith), DET1 (Raymond-Larkin-Fabbri)

10/24 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Kaapo Kahkonen (FD: $8,500 | DK: $7,300)
  2. Ilya Sorokin (FD: $8,200 | DK: $8,400)
    Honorable Mention(s): Robin Lehner

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Connor Ingram (FD: $7,900 | DK: $8,100)
Honorable Mention(s): Marc-Andre Fleury, Alex Nedeljkovic

10/24 NHL Wild Card Targets

FanDuel

Moritz Seider (FD: $4,000 | DK: $4,000)
There are a lot of interesting one-off plays on tonight’s slate and one that is definitely worth a look is Moritz Seider. Sieder leads Red Wings defensemen in points and is second on his team tied with Larkin and behind Bertuzzi who may not even play. Seider has been receiving top-line minutes (over 21 minutes per game) and has been racking up both blocks and shots. Seider plays on the Wings’ second power-play unit but gets a lot of even-strength minutes with the top line. Going into tonight, he’ll be facing off against a very questionable Chicago defence who are allowing a whopping 4.2 goals per game and a goalie in Fleury who is off to the worst statistical start of his entire career with a 0-3-0 record, a 5.63 GAA and a .840 SV%. I see a lot of potential for a game stack between these two teams as they both suffer from very questionable defence but one piece of this matchup that I would recommend taking a look at is rookie defenseman, Moritz Seider.
Honorable Mention(s): Fiala, Beauvilier, Tolvanen, Wahlstrom

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Dylan Larkin

Winger Kirill Kaprizov

Defence Noah Dobson

Goalie Kaapo Kahkonen

Welcome to the Saturday Slapshot.  I’m Jared and I’ll be your host.  Tonight we have a solid 10 game slate where I’ll be highlighting some of my top plays for tonight’s NHL slate on Fanduel and Draftkings.

Before we dive in I want to highlight some terms you’ll see in my article:

  • Corsi – Any shot attempt (goals, shots on net, misses and blocks) outside of the shootout
  • Even Strength – Play where both teams have the same number of players (including goalies) on the ice. Includes 5v5, 4v4, 3v3
  • Power Play – Play where the team has more players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 5v4, 5v3, 4v3
  • Penalty Kill – Play where the team has fewer players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 4v5, 3v4, 3v5

Goaltending

Thomas Greiss ($7.2k DK/$7k FD) vs. Montreal Canadiens – Greiss is the projected starter for the Red Wings and if he does indeed get the nod between the pipes I’m all in.  The Canadiens have been brutal to start to the year as they are still yet to find the win column.  Through their first 5 games they’ve only managed to score 3 even strength goals.  In Greiss we have a goaltender who’s look solid in his first two outings with a .969 save % and just a 1 GAA.

Frederik Andersen ($8.1k DK/$7.8k FD) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets – Through his first 3 starts on the year Andersen has looked extremely sharp.  He’s been averaging 30 saves per game and has a .938 save %.  With Cam Atkins no longer on the squad, this Blue Jackets team is nowhere near as scary as they used to be.

They’ve been averaging less than 2 even strength goals per game in their 4 first games and if the Hurricanes can stay out of the penalty box I don’t see any reason why Anderson won’t keep up his string of solid starts.  I do like his price quite a bit better on FD than DK, but he’s a solid play on both.

Jordan Binnington ($8.5k DK/$7.5k FD) vs. Los Angeles Kings – While he’s playable on DK, this is more of a FD play tonight since he’s $1k cheaper there. Binnington gets an extremely solid match up tonight.  After the Kings exploded for 6 goals on opening, they’ve only been able to muster 5 goals in their last 3 games.  Binnington is coming off his best start of the year in which he saved 42 of the 43 shots that the Vegas Knights had.  Look for Binnington to post another strong performance tonight.

Stacks

Carolina 2 (Andrei Svechnikov/Vincent Trocheck/Martin Necas)

Svechnikov has been rolling to start the year.  Through just 3 games he has 4 goals and 5 points.  Him and his line mates get a great match up tonight vs. a Blue Jackets team that has been challenged to start the year.  The Blue Jackets have a Corsi % of 45% (really want to be above 50%) at even strength to start the year.  They’re giving up way more shot attempts than they taking themselves.

Another way to get exposure to the Hurricanes tonight is to go with their PP1.  You can drop Necas and add in either Sebastian Aho or Tony DeAngelo.  Any way you slice it, I really like the Hurricanes chances of putting up a big number tonight and it’s all going to start with Svechnikov.  He’s your Hurricanes lock and you’ll want to build around him.

Detroit PP1 (Dylan Larkin/Tyler Bertuzzi/Nick Leddy/Lucas Raymond)

I focused on the Canadiens struggles scoring goals above, now I’m going to focus on their inability to keep the puck out of the net.  Through their first 5 games the Canadiens have given up 8 power play goals.  Their penalty kill has been atrocious and I really want to attack it.  Bertuzzi, Larkin, and Raymond all play together at even strength and on the power play.

Those that hang out in discord know my affinity for Raymond.  He scored his first goal of his career the other night and I love his chances of adding to that total tonight.  This trio is going to be a ton of fun to watch this year and they get a soft match up tonight.  On DK, I’m probably going to fade Bertuzzi and play Leddy because $7.6k is just a bit more than I’d like to pay for him.  On FD though, Bertuzzi is just $4.9k and is a must play in my eyes.

Vancouver 1 (Elias Pettersson/JT Miller/Brock Boeser)

Of all the teams playing tonight, no team has given up more high danger chances at even strength than the Seattle Kraken.  They’ve given up 11 through their first 5 games.  They’ve also given up a ton of scoring chances through those 5 as their opponents have had more than 23 scoring chances per game.  In comparison a team like the Predators is only giving up 18 per game.

My favorite pieces of this stack are Pettersson and Miller.  The two of them have combined for 29 shots this season and 13 high danger scoring chances.  With the Kraken’s propensity to give up high danger chances and their ability to get those some types of chances, I really like their chances find the back of the net multiple times tonight.

Other stacks (Islanders PP1, Florida Panthers 1, Arizona Coyotes 1, St. Louis Blues 1)

Value Defenseman

Sean Walker – Averaging more than 20 minutes per game on the ice.  Has averaged more than 4 shots + blocks per game and is also seeing power play time

Erik Cernak – Isn’t seeing power play time, but is on the nice for more than 20 minute per game.  Also averaging more than 4 shots + blocks per game.

Brett Pesce – Has played 23, 23, and 22 minutes in 3 games so far.  Last game had 5 blocks.  Love playing guys that have no regard for their bodies and willing to block that many shots

Brady Skjei – The ex Rangers defenseman has been putting in the work this year.  20 minutes of ice time per game.  Averaging multiple shots + blocks per game.

Summary

We have a great slate tonight with 10 games on top.  The Hurricanes and Red Wings are my favorite spots for offense tonight.  Both teams should put up a big number.  While I didn’t mention the Maple Leafs they get a great match up tonight, especially if Casey DeSmith is between the pipes.

Good luck and hope to see you in the green!

We’re back with another Wednesday Night Win Daily NHL Article! I love seeing the high activity in the discord chat and the winning screenshots that have been posted lately. Let’s continue our positive trend tonight. We have a small 2-gamer for tonight’s slate. So, let’s get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 10/20 NHL slate, the slate begins at 7:30 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

10/20 NHL Stack Report

  1. Boston Bruins 1
    Pastrnak – Bergeron – Marchand (FanDuel: $24,000 | DraftKings: $20,600)
CASH LOCK: Ok so we can keep it really simple for this line. They are the cash line of tonight’s slate. They are one of the best lines in hockey, up there with Tampa, Toronto and Colorado’s top line. Since they are the only line near the top of the league on today’s slate, their ownership in cash games will be extremly high. (I’d assume at least 70%) Statistically, there is very good reason for this. When this line is on, they will break the slate and against a very lacklustre goalie in Jones, they are very likely to do just that. Jones had one of the worst stat lines as a goalie in the NHL last season with a 3.28 GAA and a .896 SV%. San Jose did not have the best season last year and Jones’ performances definitely did not help matters. Every member of this top line is all-star calibre but I want to point out Pastrnak in particular who not only won the Rocket Richard Trophy during the last full NHL Season (2019-2020) but he was the among the top in the scoring table in the most recent playoffs (2020-21) with 15 points in only 11 games. Also of note is that Marchand finished third in league scoring last season. With that being said, considering their price, I would try to get them all in but if you cant, prioritize Pastrnak and Marchand.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Charlie McAvoy (FD: $6,400 | DK: $5,600)
  2. Phiadelphia Flyers 2
    Farabee – Brassard – Atkinson (FanDuel: $14,500 | DraftKings: $14,900)
Playing the two recommended lines together could work as an interesting game stack and the price of the Flyers second line allows you to afford the big guns on Boston’s top line. Furthermore, they have performed extremely well this season through their first two games. Together they have combined for 9 points through their first two games with four goals and five assists and their prices have remained affordable despite their success. I suspect that this line will have high ownership in today’s slate given their past performances but it is for good reason. With the whole line playing together on the Flyers second power play unit we will also have significant opportunities for this line to score and accrue points together during both even strength and during the power play.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Ryan Ellis (FD: $5,500 | DK: $6,100)

    Honorable Mention(s): VGK1 (Marchessault – Karlsson – Smith), PHI1 (Giroux – Couturier – Konecny)

10/20 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Jordan Binnington (FD: $7,300 | DK: $7,100)
  2. Jeremy Swayman (FD: $8,000 | DK: $7,900)
    Honorable Mention(s): Robin Lehner

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Martin Jones (FD: $7,700 | DK: $7,400)

10/20 NHL Wild Card Targets

DraftKings

Joel Farabee (FD: $5,400 | DK: $4,400)
I don’t get it. Four points to start the season, two points in each game and DraftKings lowers his price? We’re not talking a $100 or $200 drop either. He dropped $900!!! If you’re playing on DraftKings I would scoop up Farabee immediately and build him, I doubt his price will stay here for too long. Farabee is already building on a stellar 20-goal and 38-point campaign from last year’s shortened season and tonight he is an absolute steal on DraftKings. Farabee pairs well with his aforementioned linemates on Philadelphia’s second line as well as defenseman Ryan Ellis.

FanDuel

Jordan Kyrou (FD: $4,600 | DK: $4,600)
For FanDuel, we have a similar situation when it comes to Jordan Kyrou. Jordan has amassed six points in just two games, including a superb four-point performance in the 7-4 barn burner against the Yotes. Kyrou’s price did go up from the last slate, but he is still very affordable for tonight’s two-gamer and when trying to fit in the juggernauts on Boston’s top line, its salary saving wingers like Kyrou who will allow you to fit them comfortably into your lineups. Kyrou pairs really well with defenseman Justin Faulk who is also reasonably priced. Kyrou will also be getting a new linemate for tonight’s game as Buchnevich is unavailable tonight after being suspended for headbutting Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse. So stay tuned for Buchnevich’s replacement as we could get another solid option that correlates well with Kyrou.
Honorable Mention(s): Haula, Dadonov, Krebs, Yandle-Konecny
