PARLAY OF THE DAY

Avalanche, Golden Knight and Leafs winning on the Moneyline

3/8 NHL Stack Report

1. Colorado Avalanche 1
Rantanen – MacKinnon – Landeskog (FanDuel: $27,600 | DraftKings: $21,100)
To lead off the article we have a matchup between one of the league’s highest-scoring offences in Colorado who average 3.93 goals per game against one of the leagues’ worst defences in the New Jersey Devils who average 3.54 goals against per game. These numbers are brutal for the Devils, no matter how you slice it. Unsurprisingly, Colorado has the highest implied total of the slate at an event 4.0 implied goals and on top of that, this line is now back to full strength as league point leaders Rantanen and Landeskog are joined by in my estimation, their team’s most valuable player, Nathan MacKinnon. They’re not quite the same without him and with him in the lineup, the Devils are going to have a rough night at the office, especially considering their goalie troubles as of late.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Cale Makar (FD: $7,200 | DK: $7,100)

2. Vegas Golden Knights 1
Roy – Eichel – Pacioretty (FanDuel: $20,000 | DraftKings: $15,800)
For our second line of the night, it’s not as much about how good they are like the Aves but rather how bad their opponents are. Bad doesn’t even begin to describe the season the Flyers have had to this point. To date, the Flyers have lost 6 of their last eight games, routinely coughing up 5 to 6 goals in the process. The Flyers have struggled a lot this season, whether it be their coaching change, their long losing streaks or their awful goaltending. They have just never been able to find any semblance of consistency. Their opponent’s the Golden Knights haven’t been the Kings of Consistency either but the problems that the Golden Knights have pale in comparison to the massive issues plaguing the Flyers this season. On top of that, the Golden Knights are coming off a strong win against the Ottawa Senators, where this line scored the winning goal with a mere 5.2 seconds left. The Knights have started to play good hockey again, winning three of their last four games and are in a prime position to make it four of their last five, here tonight. The implied total is very favourable to them at 3.5 goals but knowing the Flyers’ defensive struggles, it could end up being much worse than that.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Alex Pietrangelo (FD: $6,400 | DK: $6,500)

Honorable Mention(s): TOR1, STL1, ANH1

3/6 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Darcy Kuemper (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Robin Lehner (FD: $7,900 | DK: $8,200)
    Honorable Mention(s): Alex Nedjelkovic

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Jon Gillies (FD: $6,800 | DK: $7,100)
Honorable Mention(s): Karel Vejmelka, Carter Hart

3/8 NHL Wild Card Targets

Michael Bunting (FD: $6,100 | DK: $4,700)
– Michael Bunting has been on quite the tear as of late and yes he has benefitted tremendously from having two all-star linemates. Regardless he’s a cheap winger and he’s putting up points like it’s nobody’s business, we already saw him get a hat trick not too long ago and five games ago, he had a five-point game! Ever since that game, he’s continued his point streak as he now has 10 points in his last 5 games. Not too bad for a rookie winger! On top of that, the Leafs are going up against the Kraken. We have gone in-depth on the Kraken’s defensive failings, their high goals-against average in contrast with their low shots on goal against percentage, bottom line is the Leafs (and Bunting) should have no problem tearing right into the Kraken tonight.
Honorable Mention(s): Dylan Strome, Nick Schmaltz, Mason Marchment, Kevin Fiala-Matt Boldy

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Nathan MacKinnon

Winger Michael Bunting

Defenseman – Alex Pietrangelo

Goalie Robin Lehner

Welcome, everyone! We’ve been putting in the DFS grind all week, lets get some hard-earned paper tonight! Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! 3/6 NHL Stack Report

1. Carolina Hurricanes 1
Svechnikov – Aho – Teravainen (FanDuel: $23,600 | DraftKings: $20,300)
Here we have what is clearly the top line of the entire slate. Carolina’s top line has been on absolute fire lately as the Canes have won six of their last eight games. This line has been a consistent factor for the Canes with Aho leading the charge registering nine points over his last nine games. We have covered Seattle’s poor defence in past articles and looked at how their high GAA and low shots on goal means that either their goaltending has been horrendous, their defence is allowing prime shot opportunities or both. Either way, it makes me strongly believe that Carolina will take over the slate tonight. All three of the top liners play on the Canes top power-play unit and see around 20 minutes of ice time a game.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jacoob Slavin (FD: $5,600 | DK: $5,300)

2. Tampa Bay Lightning 1
Palat – Point – Kucherov (FanDuel: $23,800 | DraftKings: $20,700)
Tampa has the highest implied total of the entire slate at 4.1. That’s a combination of Tampa’s juggernaut offence alongside what has been a very lacklustre defence on the part of the Chicago Blackhawks. Injuries and controversies derailed what could’ve been a breakout season for the Hawks. Instead, they sit near the bottom of the league in both goals allowed and shots on goal allowed, while doing even worse offensively averaging just 2.46 goals per game. Fleury has been a bit of a bright spot for the Hawks but even so, he hasn’t been able to stop the onslaught by himself and the Chicago defence usually keeps him pretty vulnerable. This is a horrible thing to do against a team like Tampa. Tampa’s top line is stacked with lethal shooters who can be dangerous from most parts of the ice. Specifically Kucherov and Point, both have been killing it as of late, Kucherov himself has 10 points over his last six games and point has 8. Even at home, I don’t see the Hawks standing much of a chance here tonight. All three of the Lightning’s top liners see anywhere from 17-20 minutes of ice-time per game and see power-play time with Point and Kuch on the top unit and Palat on the second unit.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Mikhail Sergachev (FD: $5,600 | DK: $5,100)

Honorable Mention(s): VGK1 (Roy-Eichel-Dadonov), ANH1 (Henrique-Getzlaf-Terry)

3/6 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Igor Shesterkin (FD: $8,300 | DK: $7,600)
  2. Antti Raanta (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,200)
Honorable Mention(s): Robin Lehner, Andrei Vasilevskiy

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Philipp Grubauer (FD: $6,900 | DK: $7,200)
    Honorable Mention(s): Zach Sawchenko

3/6 NHL Wild Card Targets

Connor Brown (FD: $5,100 | DK: $4,100)
– Brown has been an assist machine as of late with five assists over his last five games. He’s also been shooting the puck a lot more frequently lately as he’s got 10 shots on goal over his last two games and he consistently sees over 20 minutes of ice-time per game. According to current lineup projections, he will be getting a boost to the top line for tonight’s game alongside established top liners Brady Tkachuk and Josh Norris with the extended absence of Drake Batherson. Brown also sees time on the second power-play unit and the Sens will be facing off against a goalie in Lehner who’s dropped two of his last three with a GAA of over 3 in that time.
Honorable Mention(s): Brady Skjei, Paul Stastny, Chris Kreider

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Jack Eichel

Winger Teuvo Teravainen

Defenseman – Mikhail Sergachev

Goalie Igor Shesterkin

Over the last month or so we’ve started to see smaller Saturday night slates.  Tonight is no exception as we have ourselves a nice-sized 6 game slate of NHL DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.  Tonight we should see some fresh legs as only the Columbus Blue Jackets are playing on the back end of back-to-backs.

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

Goaltending

Juuse Saros ($7.9K DK/$8.1k FD) vs. San Jose Sharks – If you look at Saros’ recent game logs, you’ll see someone that has been extremely inconsistent.  Over the last couple of weeks, he’s had as many as 21 DK points vs. the Stars and as little as 3.5 vs. the Hurricanes.  The matchup tonight should be on the “easier” side as the Sharks have been abysmal of late.

Over the last month, they’ve been scoring just 2 goals per game.  Their offense has essentially vanished and has been one of the worst in the NHL.  The Predator’s propensity to give up shots and the Sharks’ inability to score goals of late has me loving this bounce-back match-up for Saros.  He’s under that $8k threshold on DK tonight so we won’t be paying a premium.  And we don’t like having to pay premiums on goalies.

Vitek Vanacek ($8.2k DK/$7.6k FD) vs. Seattle Kraken – Yes, the Kraken put a larger than normal number for them Wednesday night when they scored 4 goals vs. Saros and the Predators.  That’s essentially their weeks’ worth of goals so we should be good to use a goalie against them tonight.  Over the last month, the Kraken are averaging just 2.30 goals per game.  They have an extremely weak offense.

Tonight, we’re going to use Vanacek against them.  In a small sample size in the NHL this season, he’s shown some serious upside.  He has multiple games over 30 DK points.  Should he get the start tonight, I’m all in on him.  Whoever starts for the Capitals tonight should be in your pool of goalies.

Stacks

Washington 1 (Ovechkin, Kuznetsov, Wilson) + Carlson vs. Seattle

I haven’t used Ovechkin in quite some time when playing NHL DFS.  He’s been priced to a point where his production was leaving little value.  That said, he’s as cheap as you’ll ever see him.  For the first time since the start of the year, he’s priced under $8k on DK at just $7.7k.  That’s a steal.  I’m sure it will lead to him being more popular tonight, but at that price it’s hard to fade with the upside that he presents us.

While he has only 2 goals over his last 5, he’s been showing some signs of life as he has 14 scoring chances over that period.  I plan on pairing him with Kuznetsov tonight, who’s also reasonably priced at just $5.3k.  Kuz is right behind Ovie with 13 scoring chances over his last 5 games.  Seattle’s giving up 4 goals per game over the last month.  This line should do well tonight.

Boston 1 (Bergeron, Marchand, Debrusk) vs. Columbus

I highlighted above that Columbus is on the tail end of a back to back.  Even if they were rested, I would have attacked them.  With them likely having tired legs, it makes me want to attack them even more.  My priority with the Bruins tonight will be Debrusk at just $3.6k.  He’s been one of the hottest players in the NHL over the last couple of weeks with 5 goals in his last 5 games.

While he’s quieted down a bit over his last 2 games, love the upside in him tonight against a team that is giving up almost 38 shots per game over the last month.  I normally stick with 2 man stacks and my lean right now is to pair him with Marchand over Bergeron.  Marchand has a slight edge in scoring chances and that’s what we covet, scoring chances.

Edmonton 2 (Draisaitl, Kane, Yamamoto) vs. Montreal

Montreal has been a much better team since Martin St. Louis took over the realms.  That said, it’s still the same personnel that played poorly all throughout the first half of the NHL season.  I’m siding with Edm 2 tonight over Edm 1 because we get about a $1,500 savings going down to Draisaitl from McDavid.  Draisaitl has been showing some signs of life recently.  He has back-to-back games with multiple points and 3 goals and 8 points over his last 5.  At just $7.4k tonight we’re getting him at a huge discount from where he was about a month ago.

My plan is to pair him with Kane tonight.  The 2 have played fairly well together as they’ve combined for 12 points over their last 5 games.  The Oilers should face Montembeault tonight.  After a solid stretch of 6 games, he came back down to earth against the Jets on Tuesday giving up 7 goals.  While I don’t’ see him giving up 7 tonight, the Oilers should surpass the 4 goals Vegas currently has them at.

I also love Toronto tonight, but the Matthews line has absolutely burned me the last 2 games.  I’m a little gun shy going back to them tonight.

Other stacks (Van 1, Tor 1, CBJ 1, Bos 2, Mon 1 and 2, Edm 1)

Top Defenseman

  • Brandon Carlo – $2.9k on DK – Has 12 blocked shots and 13 shots over his last 5.  Averaging 5 shots + blocks over that stretch.  He presents us with a ton of value if his play continues.
  • Martin Fehervary – $2.6k on DK – Has 11 blocks over his last 5.  Doesn’t get the same shot volume, but he’s dirt cheap and is in a great environment tonight.
  • Cale Makar – 8 assists and 20 shots over his 5.  One of the top offensive defenseman in the league.  Expensive though.
  • Devon Toews – 2 goals and 5 assists over his last 5.  Colorado has done a great job getting offensive defenseman.
  • Tyler Myers – 13 blocks and 10 shots over his last 5.  Just $3.7k on DK.  Great Value.
  • Travis Hamonic – $4.4k on DK.  Average over 4.5 shots + blocks over his last 5.  Also a great value.

Vegas

Love the over on the Canucks 2.5 goals tonight.  While Toronto is a high-powered offense, they’re also poor defensively.  They’re giving up 3.75 goals per game over the last month.  Campbell has given up 14 goals in his last 3 games.  Canucks should put up at least 3 goals tonight.

Summary

Tonight’s the type of night where we have some high upside guys really priced down in Ovechkin and Draisaitl.  In my early builds, I have them continue to be my core 2 and surrounding them with at least one of their teammates.  With Defenseman tonight, I’m going strictly value.  There are 2 guys under $3k tonight on DK that have been giving us shots and blocks on a consistent basis.  They’ll give us a ton of salary savings.

Make sure to use our optimizer when setting lineups.

Welcome back everyone to another edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! This morning we have four games that all have intriguing pieces for us to use in tonight’s builds. A few immediately caught my eye, so let’s dig right into it! For tonight’s 3/2 NHL slate, the slate begins at 7:30 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

3/2 NHL Stack Report

1. Nashville Predators 1
Duchene – Granlund – Forsberg (FanDuel: $20,300 | DraftKings: $14,500)
Let’s start off with what I see as one of the big mismatches of the night. Offensively, the Preds have been rather middle of the pack, with the main flashes of brilliance coming from winger Filip Forsberg. The Kraken on the other hand have really had a season to forget as they sit near the bottom of the league and are woefully underperforming even to the standards of their harshest critics. Despite a very low shot on goal against rate, they allow an incredibly high amount of goals against at 3.55, the only way to properly explain that is that their goaltending just hasn’t been up to par and that even though the Kraken D may have done some good work in limiting chances, the Kraken goalies always give up a couple of cheap ones with the few opportunities that the opposing team are afforded. With that level of play, it’s no surprise that the Kraken are currently on a big downward spiral dropping their last seven games. All three of Nashville’s top liners play on the Preds top power-play unit and as far as pricing goes the Preds top guys are priced very reasonably, especially compared to the second team on our radar.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Roman Josi (FD: $7,000 | DK: $7,200)

2. Toronto Maple Leafs 1
Marner Matthews Bunting (FanDuel: $25,100 | DraftKings: $22,000)
Here we are… the Leafs are the biggest favourites on the slate and its really not even close. Their implied total is set at an astronomical 4.5 and are listed as -430 favourites. It’s very clear what the bookies are projecting for this one. I have no reason to disagree with them, the Leafs have been on quite a run lately, scoring insanely high amounts of goals (including a combined 17 goal game two games ago!) and having those goals fairly concentrated among the top liners. Over their last three games, this line has put together 22 points amongst themselves. That’s unreal and given the mismatch on display tonight, I can only see those numbers improving. Defensively, the Sabres have huge liabilities being near rock bottom in the league in both goals allowed and shots on goal allowed. Craig Anderson who is set to start for the Sabres has also been coughing up over 3 goals a game this season and the Sabres themselves currently sit at the wrong end of a six-game losing streak. Thankfully, all three of the Leafs’ top liners see Power-play time with Matthews and Marner on the first unit and Bunting on the second unit. The only concern in playing this line is the price, I would recommend having a couple of pieces in your lineup and not investing most of your salary into one line, but momentum is on the Leafs’ side, scoring ability is on the Leafs’ side and the stats are on the Leafs” side… not much else to say about this line.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Morgan Rielly (FD: $6,200 | DK: $5,800)

Honorable Mentions in order: DAL1 (Pavelski-Hintz-Robertson), STL1 (Perron-O’Reilly-Saad)

BOOKIE BET OF THE NIGHT: OVER 6.5 TOR/BUF

– Well even though Toronto has a shot at cracking the over by themselves, neither side are fielding good starting goalies and we could see a situation where the Sabres manage to bag a few on the Leafs back up goalie (I doubt we’ll see another 17-goal barn burner though)

Honorable Mention(s): NSH -180 on the Moneyline

3/2 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Ville Husso (FD: $7,700 | DK: $7,800)
  2. Juuse Saros (FD: $8,200 | DK: $8,000)
    Honorable Mention(s): Jake Oettinger

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Philipp Grubauer (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,400)
    Honorable Mention(s): Craig Anderson

3/2 NHL Wild Card Targets

Justin Holl (FD: $4,900 | DK: $2,700)
It’s very rare that I’d list a defenseman in the Wild Card slot but here we are. We’ve already discussed why the Leafs, in general, are a good play tonight but many may overlook the young defenseman as he has some struggles earlier on in the season. Since then he’s really been able to fine-tune his game and over his last few games, he has been an absolute monster. He’s registered 7 points over his last four games with five points coming over his last two games and on top of that, he’s starting to creep around 20 minutes of ice time a game. Holl’s price has raised a bit on FanDuel but he is still a solid value play, especially in tonight’s mismatch against the Buffalo Sabres.
Honorable Mention(s): Tage Thompson-Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs-Casey Fitzgerald, Jordan Eberle, Viktor Arvidsson, Jordan Kyrou

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Auston Matthews

Winger Filip Forsberg

Defence Justin Holl

Goalie Ville Husso

Welcome, everyone! We’re back with a brand new Sunday Night Win Daily NHL Article! We have a couple of different main slates so I’ll recommend lines that work for both sites. Let’s keep up the momentum and let’s get some takedowns tonight! Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 2/27 NHL slate, as mentioned, we have a smaller five gamer and the slate begins at 6:00 pm ET (1:00 pm ET on DK). Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

2/27 NHL Stack Report

1. San Jose Sharks 1
Meier – Hertl – Barabanov (FanDuel: $20,700 | DraftKings: $15,800)
Tonight’s late hammer is carrying a lot of value in their top line as aside from Meier who is priced extremely high, San Jose’s top line has been impressive, compared to the rest of the lineup who have been severely lacking (with one exception). Seattle has been on quite the downward spiral as of late too. They have dropped their last six game and in many of these games they gave up around 5-6 goals. San Jose’s main draw tonight is definitely their matchup. Seattle has not been good on either end of the puck ranking 27th in the league in both goals scored and goals allowed while having one of the worst shots on goal average in the entire league at 28.1. San Jose is coming into the second half of a back but if it weren’t for that, I can’t imagine the bookies having this one as close as they do. San Jose is still slightly favoured but given the weak play of their opponents lately, coupled with the point production of their top unit, the San Jose Sharks are a good place to start your GPP builds on both sites.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Brent Burns (FD: $6,600 | DK: $6,000)

2. New York Islanders 1
Palmieri – Barzal – Parise (FanDuel: $15,000 | DraftKings: $11,700)
This line is way too cheap, especially on DraftKings where two of the top liners are in the $3,000 range, that’s simply unbelievable, especially against a team in the Ducks who notoriously struggle on the defensive end of the ice. The Islanders are not the most offensively gifted team but Anaheim does give up a lot of good looks and allows shots on goal at an unacceptable rate. On average, Anaheim allows over 33 shots on goal against per game, while nearly giving up three goals a game. With the way they’ve been playing right now, it’s the Islanders top line who are going to benefit from Anaheim’s defensive lapses. The great thing about this line is the versatility, they work as a full line stack, a two-man and they can be easily paired with a defenseman. On top of that, the price of these guys will really help alleviate some of the heavy price tags on the higher priced lines, such as Pittsburgh’s top line.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Noah Dobson (FD: $6,200 | DK: $5,800)

Honorable Mention(s): WPG1 (Stastny-Scheifele-Wheeler), DAL1 (Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski), STL1 (Saad-O’Reilly-Perron), PIT1 (Rust-Crosby-Guentzel) (MAIN CASH LINE PIT1)

2/27 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Ilya Sorokin (FD: $7,600 | DK: $7,700)
  2. Igor Shesterkin (FD: $8,600 | DK: $8,000)
Honorable Mention(s): Zach Sawchenko, Connor Hellebuyck

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Philipp Grubauer (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Elvis Merzlikins

2/27 NHL Wild Card Targets

Logan Couture (FD: $6,600 | DK: $5,100)
– With 5 points out of his last five games (4 goals, 1 assist), Couture has been the only major contributor on the Sharks who isn’t on the top line. Couture has been consistently effective as of late and has regularly seen time on San Jose’s top power play unit. Despite a slight price increase on FanDuel, he is still fairly priced on DraftKings and all the same points we made about Seattle’s defensive weakness’ still apply to having some shares of Couture tonight. He can work as a one off but I prefer him in a mini-stack with defenseman Brent Burns.
Honorable Mention(s): Brady Skjei, Zach Hyman, Martin Necas, Tage Thompson, Bryan Rust

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Matt Barzal

Winger Timo Meier

Defenseman – Noah Dobson

Goalie Ilya Sorokin (Connor Hellebuyck works on DK)

Welcome to the Saturday Slapshot where I’ll be highlighting some of my top plays for tonight’s NHL DFS slate on Fanduel and DraftKings.  Tonight we have a solid 7 game main slate.

Let’s dig in and see if we can make some money.

Goaltending

Jeremy Swayman ($8.2k DK/$8.1k FD) vs. San Jose Sharks – Over the past month, the Sharks have not been able to muster much offense.  They’ve been averaging just 2.44 goals per game over the last 30 days.  Guys like Hertl and Meier have gone ice cold and because of that, I’m happy to use a goalie against them tonight.

Swayman himself has been pretty good of late.  Over his last 4 contests, he hasn’t scored less than 19 DK points and has only given up 4 goals over that stretch.  He’s in a great spot tonight and I plan on going heavy on him.  He’s already been confirmed as the starter tonight.

Andrew Hammond ($7.2k DK/$6.9k FD) vs.Ottawa Senators – Another team struggling to score goals right now is the Ottawa Senators.  Since January 26, they’ve been averaging just 2.21 goals per game.  That’s bad.  Hammond hasn’t played much this season.  In fact, he’s only played in one contest but he fared extremely well against the Islanders, stopping 30 of 32 shots.  He’s not safe by any means.  But he’s extremely cheap and opens up a ton of salary for us to spend on offense tonight.

Stacks

Montreal 1 (Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Josh Anderson) + Jeff Petry

If you would have told me a month ago that I’d be writing up a Canadiens line as one of my favorite lines, I would have laughed at you.  Martin St. Louis has changed the culture around the team.  They’re currently riding a 4 game winning streak since MSL took over behind the bench and are finally playing some inspired hockey.  With Montreal, it all starts the kid Cole Caufield.

Over his last 5 games he has 4 goals and 4 assists.  He has a solid 19 scoring chances over that stretch as well.  He’s making things happen right now and is somehow still priced under $5k on DK.  I’m going to side with Anderson on this stack, although I wouldn’t blame if you go with Suzuki or all 3.  Anderson is just $3.7k tonight on DK and has 3 goals in his last 5.  Look for the good times to keep rolling against the Senators tonight.

Toronto 1 (Matthews, Bunting, Marner) + Reilly

With the savings we’re getting from the Canadiens tonight, we should be able to squeeze in the expensive and explosive Maple Leafs against the Red Wings tonight.  If we look at what the Red Wings have done defensively over their last 10 games, they’re someone that we can attack.  They’ve been averaging 4.20 goals against over their last 10.  That’s the highest on the slate.  It’s been due to some really poor goaltending as their goalies have just an 87% save percentage over their past 10.

When it comes to the Leafs’ offense, it all starts with Matthews.  I saw an interesting stat about him the other day.  Over his last 100 games, he has scored 77 goals.  That’s an insane pace.  The duo of Matthews and Marner is one of the best in the league.  They are extremely expensive as they’ll combine for $17.2k on DK tonight.  The cheap way to go here is to pair Matthews with Bunting tonight.  The Leafs should put up a crooked number tonight and I’ll want a part of it.

Ottawa 1 (Stutzle, Tkachuk, Gaudette) + Chabot

I know, I recommended Hammond tonight.  He’s a risky play and if you aren’t comfortable playing him, I’d recommend going with some Senators tonight.  The Canadiens are playing much better hockey since MSL took over.  That’s undeniable.  That said though, it’s still the same personnel that’s been hot garbage for the majority of the year.  While they’ve been solid for 4, over their last 11 games they are still giving up almost 4 goals per game.  At some point the honeymoon will be over and the Canadiens defense will come back down to earth.

It’s entirely possible it happens tonight.  While the Senators haven’t been scoring much, they still have some pieces that are doing well and are inexpensive.  Stutzle has 4 goals over his past 5 games to go along with 13 scoring chances.  While Tkachuk hasn’t been overly productive, he still has 18 scoring chances over his last 5, 7 of which were high danger chances.  He’s got all the talent in the world and can easily blow up tonight against the Canadiens.

Other stacks (TB 1 and 2, Col 1, Nash 1, Det 1 and 2, CGY 1 and 2)

Top Defenseman

  • Moritz Seider
  • Thomas Chabot
  • Mikhail Sergachev
  • Brayden McNabb
  • Roman Josi
  • Christopher Tanev
  • Cale Makar

Summary

We have some high-powered offenses going tonight with the Leafs, Avalanche, and Flames in action.  I love the Canadiens/Senators game as a potential game stack tonight.  2 suspect defenses going in that one.
