NHL NHL DFS The Saturday Slapshot for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 23) Joel Bartilotta 3 years ago written by Joel Bartilotta Welcome to the Saturday Slapshot. I’m Jared and I’ll be your host. Tonight we have a solid 10 game slate where I’ll be highlighting some of my top plays for tonight’s NHL slate on Fanduel and Draftkings. Before we dive in I want to highlight some terms you’ll see in my article: Corsi – Any shot attempt (goals, shots on net, misses and blocks) outside of the shootout Even Strength – Play where both teams have the same number of players (including goalies) on the ice. Includes 5v5, 4v4, 3v3 Power Play – Play where the team has more players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 5v4, 5v3, 4v3 Penalty Kill – Play where the team has fewer players on the ice than their opponent due to penalties. Includes 4v5, 3v4, 3v5 Goaltending Thomas Greiss ($7.2k DK/$7k FD) vs. Montreal Canadiens – Greiss is the projected starter for the Red Wings and if he does indeed get the nod between the pipes I’m all in. The Canadiens have been brutal to start to the year as they are still yet to find the win column. Through their first 5 games they’ve only managed to score 3 even strength goals. In Greiss we have a goaltender who’s look solid in his first two outings with a .969 save % and just a 1 GAA. Frederik Andersen ($8.1k DK/$7.8k FD) vs. Columbus Blue Jackets – Through his first 3 starts on the year Andersen has looked extremely sharp. He’s been averaging 30 saves per game and has a .938 save %. With Cam Atkins no longer on the squad, this Blue Jackets team is nowhere near as scary as they used to be. They’ve been averaging less than 2 even strength goals per game in their 4 first games and if the Hurricanes can stay out of the penalty box I don’t see any reason why Anderson won’t keep up his string of solid starts. I do like his price quite a bit better on FD than DK, but he’s a solid play on both. Jordan Binnington ($8.5k DK/$7.5k FD) vs. Los Angeles Kings – While he’s playable on DK, this is more of a FD play tonight since he’s $1k cheaper there. Binnington gets an extremely solid match up tonight. After the Kings exploded for 6 goals on opening, they’ve only been able to muster 5 goals in their last 3 games. Binnington is coming off his best start of the year in which he saved 42 of the 43 shots that the Vegas Knights had. Look for Binnington to post another strong performance tonight. Stacks Carolina 2 (Andrei Svechnikov/Vincent Trocheck/Martin Necas) Svechnikov has been rolling to start the year. Through just 3 games he has 4 goals and 5 points. Him and his line mates get a great match up tonight vs. a Blue Jackets team that has been challenged to start the year. The Blue Jackets have a Corsi % of 45% (really want to be above 50%) at even strength to start the year. They’re giving up way more shot attempts than they taking themselves. Another way to get exposure to the Hurricanes tonight is to go with their PP1. You can drop Necas and add in either Sebastian Aho or Tony DeAngelo. Any way you slice it, I really like the Hurricanes chances of putting up a big number tonight and it’s all going to start with Svechnikov. He’s your Hurricanes lock and you’ll want to build around him. Detroit PP1 (Dylan Larkin/Tyler Bertuzzi/Nick Leddy/Lucas Raymond) I focused on the Canadiens struggles scoring goals above, now I’m going to focus on their inability to keep the puck out of the net. Through their first 5 games the Canadiens have given up 8 power play goals. Their penalty kill has been atrocious and I really want to attack it. Bertuzzi, Larkin, and Raymond all play together at even strength and on the power play. Those that hang out in discord know my affinity for Raymond. He scored his first goal of his career the other night and I love his chances of adding to that total tonight. This trio is going to be a ton of fun to watch this year and they get a soft match up tonight. On DK, I’m probably going to fade Bertuzzi and play Leddy because $7.6k is just a bit more than I’d like to pay for him. On FD though, Bertuzzi is just $4.9k and is a must play in my eyes. Vancouver 1 (Elias Pettersson/JT Miller/Brock Boeser) Of all the teams playing tonight, no team has given up more high danger chances at even strength than the Seattle Kraken. They’ve given up 11 through their first 5 games. They’ve also given up a ton of scoring chances through those 5 as their opponents have had more than 23 scoring chances per game. In comparison a team like the Predators is only giving up 18 per game. My favorite pieces of this stack are Pettersson and Miller. The two of them have combined for 29 shots this season and 13 high danger scoring chances. With the Kraken’s propensity to give up high danger chances and their ability to get those some types of chances, I really like their chances find the back of the net multiple times tonight. Other stacks (Islanders PP1, Florida Panthers 1, Arizona Coyotes 1, St. Louis Blues 1) Value Defenseman Sean Walker – Averaging more than 20 minutes per game on the ice. Has averaged more than 4 shots + blocks per game and is also seeing power play time Erik Cernak – Isn’t seeing power play time, but is on the nice for more than 20 minute per game. Also averaging more than 4 shots + blocks per game. Brett Pesce – Has played 23, 23, and 22 minutes in 3 games so far. Last game had 5 blocks. Love playing guys that have no regard for their bodies and willing to block that many shots Brady Skjei – The ex Rangers defenseman has been putting in the work this year. 20 minutes of ice time per game. Averaging multiple shots + blocks per game. Summary We have a great slate tonight with 10 games on top. The Hurricanes and Red Wings are my favorite spots for offense tonight. Both teams should put up a big number. While I didn’t mention the Maple Leafs they get a great match up tonight, especially if Casey DeSmith is between the pipes. NHL NHL DFS Friday Night Forecheck for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 22) allenjesse24@yahoo.com 3 years ago written by allenjesse24@yahoo.com This article will focus on NHL Daily Fantasy picks for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Using advanced hockey metrics, slate analysis, and line by line evaluation, this article will point you towards what we think are the best plays for the night! Good luck! Friday 10/22 NHL Breakdown Hey everyone, and welcome to the Friday Night Forecheck! My name is Jon Love, and I am new to the Win Daily Sports family. I am VERY excited to be here to talk hockey with everyone! Tonight, we have a four game slate with some heavy chalk spots and some interesting plays. Please remember – tonight’s slate locks at 6PM Eastern, which is an hour earlier than usual! Goalies: Linus Ullmark – Boston Bruins: Ullmark travels tonight to his former barn to play his former team, the Buffalo Sabres. Surprisingly, the Sabres are scoring and playing better than I think anyone would think in the early going, but the Bruins are a different class of team. Not only that, the Bruins were just beat pretty badly in Philly the other night, so I think they are going to be motivated. Ullmark will look to prove something tonight behind a superior team and should get the win, with a potential for limited save upside. Michael Hutchinson – Toronto Maple Leafs: The Leafs take on a San Jose Sharks team that is very young, and are also on a traveling back-to-back. Hutch is a heavy home favorite, and with the traveling factor, I think the Leafs are in a good spot tonight to get Hutch the win. San Jose has a measly 46.34 CORSI% on this young season, compared to 56.22 CORSI% for the Leafs. Translation: the Leafs should control the puck for most of the game, limiting the chances for the Sharks. Bonus GPP Goalie Pick – Craig Anderson – Buffalo Sabres: As much as the Bruins should dominate this game, the Sabres, as mentioned, have been playing pretty well of late. Tonight is a huge test for this team. Anderson is boasting a solid 0.954 SV% and 1.5 GAA, just a week into the new season. A matchup with Boston tonight means a lot of shots and potential for a lot of saves. I expect him to give a few up, but the shot bonus is in play here for our DraftKings players. Reserve this play for deep GPPs, and make sure you don’t stack Boston against him in the same lineup! Lines to Build Around: These lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable). Boston Bruins 1 – Patrice Bergeron/David Pastrnak/Brad Marchand/Charlie McAvoy: The B’s head to Buffalo tonight in what should be a juicy matchup for this top line. These guys are one of the most prolific scoring units in the league, and tonight should afford them a ton of opportunities to score. Buffalo has been stingier than we expected so far in this young season, but they are still giving up close to 10 high danger chances per 60 minutes as a team. If you give Boston, or this line, that many chances, they will capitalize. Taylor Hall can be added to this stack for a power play look. Edmonton Oilers Power Play – Connor McDavid/Ryan Nugent-Hopkins/Leon Draisaitl/Tyson Barrie: It’s really hard to argue against Edmonton on any slate. Tonight is no different. Vegas is depleted from an offensive standpoint, without Pacioretty and Stone. On the defensive side, they will be missing one of their shot blocking D men in Martinez. The Oilers played last night, but I fully expect them to be able to take advantage of this depleted team tonight, and the power play is the best way to stack up the Oilers. Zach Hyman can replace Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in this unit if you really need the salary relief. Toronto Maple Leafs 2 – John Tavares/William Nylander/Michael Bunting/Jake Muzzin: The Leafs have a home matchup tonight against a young team on a traveling back-to-back. I like them to have a field day tonight against the Sharks. The second line will be my focus, but I can absolutely see stacking the power play to get you exposure to Matthews and the top line. High Risk Lines: These are plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable). Vegas Golden Knights 1 – William Karlsson/Reilly Smith/Jonathan Marchessault/Alex Pietrangelo: The Oilers are favored tonight, but I expect this game to be high event, as both teams are generating 12+ high danger chances per 60 minutes. This line is the only viable Vegas line, so they will get their chances in a high event matchup. The opportunities should be there, and if they capitalize, they could be a nice stack tonight. I can see game stacking EDM/VGK tonight, if you can fit it. Dallas Stars 2 – Roope Hintz/Jacob Peterson/Alexander Radulov/Esa Lindell: The Stars host the LA Kings tonight, and at first glance, the game does not look super exciting. However, this line has been generating some excellent rates, in a very small sample. If they follow the same line matching trends as last year, I expect this line to match up with the Kopitar line for the most part tonight. The opportunity will be there, and Peterson has been an exciting rookie addition to this team. I like the chemistry here and they should be low owned. Honorable mentions: San Jose Sharks 1, Los Angeles Kings 1 Cash Considerations “DraftKings” Connor McDavid – C – Edmonton Oilers David Pastrnak – W – Boston Bruins Morgan Rielly – D – Toronto Maple Leafs Michael Hutchinson – G – Toronto Maple Leafs Cash Considerations “FanDuel” Connor McDavid – C – Edmonton Oilers David Pastrnak – W – Boston Bruins Morgan Rielly – D – Toronto Maple Leafs Michael Hutchinson – G – Toronto Maple Leafs Make sure to hop in our Expert Discord Chat for FREE! NHL NHL DFS Hot Shot for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 21) Richard Masana 3 years ago written by Richard Masana This article focuses on 10/21 NHL Picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We analyze tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so that we can gain an edge on the field at large. Full rankings for each position for both sites are available below. Thursday 10/21 NHL Slate and DFS Gameplan Welcome back to the Hot Shot for a juicy ten-game Thursday slate! With these larger slates, I highly advise passing on full three-man lines but instead going with pairs of two-man stacks as the goal is to attempt to capture the top scorers on the night across multiple games. Full DraftKings and FanDuel Rankings can be found below as well as cash game considerations for each site. The Chalk With a 6.5 implied goal total, near even odds, a start time at main lock, etc., there are many reasons in place to provide the basis for the oncoming Colorado/Florida chalk. Of all of the lines in this game, with Nathan MacKinnon making his season debut post-Covid and Andre Burakovsky offering value, understandably, the Colorado top line of MacKinnon, Burakovsky, and Mikko Rantanen should be the most popular. However, for value on DraftKings, it is hard to top the Panthers’ second line featuring Sam Bennett, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Owen Tippett. On FanDuel, my lean is towards the first line due to a large increase in price over there for the Florida second line. The Panthers’ first line of Aleksandr Barkov, Carter Verhaeghe “much cheaper on FanDuel” and Anthony Duclair does unfortunately only feature Barkov alone on the top power-play unit. If targeting the Florida power play I’d probably roll a two-man stack of Bennett and Huberdeau. In terms of individual chalk, Burakovsky, as mentioned due to a bump to the Colorado first line with Gabriel Landeskog’s injury should be a popular value play. We can also expect the likes of Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Alex Ovechkin to soak up a lot of the ownership on the high end. Over on FanDuel, Brent Burns will likely be chalk or at least should be for $5,000. The Contrarian Play Carolina Hurricanes “DraftKings” Unfortunately, the Hurricanes’ power play is a hodgepodge of their top two lines. Therefore, I think first off you’re reducing “Carolina One: Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, Jesperi Kotkaniemi” or “Carolina Two: Andrei Svechnikov, Vincent Trocheck, Martin Necas” to two-man stacks of either Aho/Teravainen or Svechnikov/Trocheck. That will give you access to the two best players on each line and the top power-play unit. Montreal has had a nightmare start to the season, last we saw them getting destroyed by Buffalo. They will have the home crowd behind their back but perhaps played above their heads last year in the playoffs and it shows now. This is a solid Carolina team and they should all be 5-7% owned if that, on a ten-game slate. 10/21 NHL Game Odds and Totals Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET Carolina Hurricanes (-120) at Montreal Canadiens (+100) – 5.5 Projected Goal Total San Jose Sharks (-115) at Ottawa Senators (-105) – 6 Projected Goal Total Colorado Avalanche (-100) at Florida Panthers (-120) – 6.5 Projected Goal Total Washington Capitals (-130) at New Jersey Devils (+110) – 6.5 Projected Goal Total New York Islanders (-130) at Columbus Blue Jackets (+110) – 5.5 Projected Goal Total Games Starting 7:30 p.m. ET or after Calgary Flames (-130) at Detroit Red Wings (+110) – 6 Projected Goal Total “7:30 p.m.” Anaheim Ducks (+145) at Winnipeg Jets (-180) – 6 Projected Goal Total “8:00 p.m.” New York Rangers (-105) at Nashville Predators (-115) – 5.5 Projected Goal Total – “8:00 p.m.” Vancouver Canucks (+110) at Chicago Blackhawks (-125) – 6 Projected Goal Total – “8:30 p.m.” Late Game Edmonton Oilers (-180) at Arizona Coyotes (+145) – 6 Projected Goal Total – “10:00 p.m.” 10/21 NHL FanDuel Individual Rankings Centers Connor McDavid – Edmonton – $9,300 Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado – $8,600 Aleksandr Barkov – Florida – $8,100 Sam Bennett – Florida – $6,300 Dylan Larkin – Detroit – $5,900 Wingers Andre Burakovsky – Colorado – $5,400 Alex Ovechkin – Washington – $8,900 Carter Verhaeghe – Florida – $5,300 Tyler Bertuzzi – Detroit – $4,600 Mikko Rantanen – Colorado – $8,200 Defense Brent Burns – San Jose – $5,000 Roman Josi – Nashville – $6,200 Erik Karlsson – San Jose – $4,900 Mackenzie Weegar – Florida – $5,300 Aaron Ekblad – Florida – $6,900 Goalies Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders – $8,100 Mikko Koskinen – Edmonton – $8,500 10/21 NHL DraftKings Individual Rankings Centers Connor McDavid- Edmonton – $9,500 Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado – $8,700 Sam Bennett – Florida – $5,800 Sebastian Aho – Carolina – $6,100 Aleksandr Barkov – Florida – $7,700 Wingers Andre Burakovsky – Colorado – $5,500 Alex Ovechkin – Washington – $8,200 Mikko Rantanen- Colorado – $7,600 Andrei Svechnikov – Carolina – $5,800 Jonathan Huberdeau – Florida – $6,000 Defense Erik Karlsson- San Jose – $4,800 Aaron Ekblad – Florida – $6,900 John Carlson – Washington – $5,900 Bowen Byram – Colorado – $3,300 Brent Burns – San Jose – $6,500 Goalies Ilya Sorokin – New York Islanders – $8,300 Mikko Koskiken- Edmonton- $8,400 Cash Considerations “DraftKings” Andre Burakovsky, Erik Karlsson, John Carlson, Alex Ovechkin, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon Cash Considerations “FanDuel” Andre Burakovsky, Carter Verhaeghe, Brent Burns, Alex Ovechkin, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon Make sure to hop in our Expert Discord Chat for FREE! NHL NHL DFS Hot Shot for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 17) Richard Masana 3 years ago written by Richard Masana This article focuses on 10/17 NHL Picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We analyze tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so that we can gain an edge on the field at large. Full rankings for each position for both sites are available below. Sunday 10/17 NHL Slate and DFS Gameplan Welcome back for the weekend return of the Hot Shot! Unfortunately, we go from nine games the last time out to only one game so it’s showdown time. However, as the great Rick Bobby once said you’re either first or you’re last and that will be our mantra/approach tonight. The Rundown Our lone game today features the young Senators traveling to face a Dallas team coming in as pretty decent favorites at -160. From a betting perspective, I think that there’s a bit more value on the Senator’s side of things. We will have to wait and see whether Brady Tkachuk makes his season debut or not for Ottawa after just signing a huge contract. Since we only have two teams playing, let’s take a full look at both teams’ lines starting with the favored Stars. Dallas Stars Dallas Two “Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Jacob Peterson” Looking at the lines above and considering salary if targeting the Stars, with price and role considered my lean is towards using the second line. They cost considerably less and have full additional correlation on the top power-play unit. On a bigger slate, I like using two-man stacks a bit more in an attempt to capture points from a couple of games. But as this is a showdown slate I’d roll all three. We still have a lot of newbies playing so my thought is they figure the top line is by nature the best line to choose from, giving us some ownership edge considering the circumstances. Ottawa Senators So, we will have to see whether Tkachuk makes his debut for this game or later in the week. Based on no inside information if I had to guess, I’d assume later this week, but we will see. Ottawa One “Josh Norris, Tim Stuetzle, Drake Batherson” This is sort of the de facto line much with the Stars second line as they are the line fully represented on the top power-play unit. If Tkachuk enters the equation we can expect these lines to be shaken up, so then would be a great time for people to pop into discord and find out updated information. However, assuming he’s not, we can roll the top line in full as there is no need to condense our stack on a showdown slate as discussed above. 10/17 NHL Game Odds and Totals Ottawa Senators (+130) at Dallas Stars (-160) – 5.5 Projected Goal Total 10/17 NHL FanDuel Individual Rankings Centers Esa Lindell – Dallas – $6,500 Jacob Peterson – Dallas – $6,500 Victor Mete – Ottawa – $6,500 Jamie Benn – Dallas – $9,500 Alexander Radulov – Dallas – $10,000 Joe Pavelski – Dallas – $11,500 10/17 NHL DraftKings Individual Rankings Centers Jacob Peterson – Dallas – $2,000 Joe Pavelski – Dallas – $8,200 Roope Hintz – Dallas – $8,400 Tim Stuetzle – Ottawa – $6,200 Esa Lindell – Dallas – $7,000 Denis Gurianov – Dallas – $4,600 Cash Considerations “DraftKings” It’s an NHL Showdown Slate, why on earth would you play cash games? NHL NHL DFS Friday Night Forecheck for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 15) allenjesse24@yahoo.com 3 years ago written by allenjesse24@yahoo.com This article will focus on NHL Daily Fantasy picks for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Using advanced hockey metrics, slate analysis, and line by line evaluation, this article will point you towards what we think are the best plays for the night! Good luck! Friday 10/15 NHL Breakdown Hey everyone, and welcome to the first EVER Friday Night Forecheck! My name is Jon Love, and I am new to the WinDaily family. I am VERY excited to be here to talk hockey with everyone! Tonight, we have a small, three game slate, and with the volatility of three game slates, I do not recommend playing cash. Goalies: Cam Talbot – Minnesota Wild: Talbot has a nice matchup tonight as they head to Anaheim to face the Ducks. I like the Wild in this matchup and expect him to get the win. Something to note: he did not finish the preseason, as he was dealing with personal matters, so just be sure to keep an eye on the news. Should he not get the start, Kaapo Kahkonen will likely be in line, and I like him here just as much. Carter Hart – Philadelphia Flyers: Hart struggled towards the end of last year, and was surely a disappointment. Since the defensive rebuild over the offseason, and some time for him to get his head right, Hart should be in the mix as one of the top goalies this year. The talent is there, and I think tonight he has a chance to be the top goalie on the slate. Lines to Build Around: These lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable). Chicago 1 – Tyler Johnson/Alex Debrincat/Patrick Kane/Seth Jones: The top line for Chicago has tons of upside, especially with Tyler Johnson newly added to the mix. In a game that should pretty much lack defense all around, this line has a ton of upside tonight. Philadelphia 1 – Sean Couturier/Claude Giroux/Travis Konecny/Ivan Provorov: Philly opens the season at home against the Vancouver Canucks tonight. They spent their offseason revamping the defense on this team, and added plenty of key pieces to the roster. These defensive additions should relieve some pressure from the forwards and open up their game. I like them a lot tonight against Vancouver and Demko. High Risk Lines: These are plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable). New Jersey 1 – Jack Hughes/Yegor Sharangovich/Janne Kuokkanen/Dougie Hamilton: The addition of Dougie Hamilton to this team should do wonders in terms of both leadership and talent. I expect tonight’s game with Chicago to be back and forth, high event hockey. This is one of the younger, up-and-coming groups in the league, and the way that Chicago is on defense should afford them opportunities aplenty. Vancouver 2 – Elias Pettersson/J.T. Miller/Vasily Podkolzin/Quinn Hughes: I expect the Couturier line to match up with the Horvat line for most of the night, as Philly generally matches best on best. With that being said, this line should have some opportunities for offense against the depth of Philly, and the talent on this line is pretty good. Of course, if playing Hart, these guys should not be in the same lineup. Honorable mentions/others I am targeting: Anaheim 3/Minnesota 1 Cash Considerations “DraftKings” On a three game slate, I do not recommend playing cash. Cash Considerations “FanDuel” On a three game slate, I do not recommend playing cash. Make sure to hop in our Expert Discord Chat for FREE! NHL NHL DFS Hot Shot for DraftKings and FanDuel (Oct. 14) Richard Masana 3 years ago written by Richard Masana This article focuses on 10/14 NHL Picks for both DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks and FanDuel and DraftKings Daily Fantasy. We analyze tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so that we can gain an edge on the field at large. Full rankings for each position for both sites are available below. Thursday 10/14 NHL Slate and DFS Gameplan Welcome back for the season debut of the Hot Shot! Let’s Gooooooo! Tonight we have the biggest slate yet this season with nine games, six of which start at main lock. All of the odds and totals are listed below. Ownership should be a relative non-issue given the size of the slate. The Chalk From the onset, the defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning comes in as the biggest favorite at -250. The Lightning look poised to bounce back from a disappointing opening-night loss. Perhaps they wore themselves out celebrating last year’s title before the game. At this point, Tampa is a two-line team so we can pick our poison between the top line of Brayden Point, Nikita Kucherov, and Ondrej Palat or the less popular second line consisting of Steven Stamkos, Alex Killorn, and Anthony Cirelli. If looking to add on, I would pair Victor Hedman if using the first line, although it is not necessary. Andrei Vasilevskiy should be the cash goalie of choice but as he looked half-awake last game and shouldn’t receive too much volume shot-wise from Detroit, I think we can pass in tournaments. The Contrarian Play Now if looking to go off the board, it took one quick look at the projected Buffalo Sabres lines and washed up Craig Anderson in the net to have me licking my lips. The Montreal Canadiens are on a back-to-back and on the road but it’s not like they are worlds away from home and trust me these Sabres are as awful as awful gets. Jack Eichel is out and wisely trying to force his way out of town. Meanwhile, Sam Reinhart, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Linus Ullmark have already escaped Buffalo for greener pastures. What’s leftover is terrible and so you have to like the Canadiens top line of Tyler Toffoli, Cole Caufield, and Nick Suzuki. You could also roll out a depth line but since Montreal is sort of off the board on such a big slate, no need. All three top-line skaters also share duties on the Canadiens’ top power-play unit, providing additional correlation. Another Juicy Spot Looking at some of the other six total games “there is no game with a total over six”, Toronto/Ottawa should get some ownership but I think as we saw last night, with Auston Matthews out Toronto might have some problems finishing things off and now they are on a back-to-back. Ottawa is down Brady Tkachuk but I guess there could be some value there. Nevertheless, if going outside of the top two Tampa lines and Montreal One, I don’t mind targeting the Pittsburgh/Florida game as that could end up a shootout. On the Pittsburgh side, I’d stick to the top line of Jeff Carter, Bryan Rust, and Danton Heinen. Conversely, if rolling with Florida, they are deep enough where in real life, all four lines are capable of putting up numbers on any given night. That’s something you definitely cannot say for every team. Nevertheless, as it’s only the top two lines represented on the top power-play unit, on a nine-game slate, let’s not get crazy for DFS purposes. It would take a lot of old Joe Thornton’s 4th line assists to win us a tournament. You can roll the top line of Aleksandr Barkov, Sam Reinhart, and Carter Verhaeghe “the first two can be run as a two-man since they are both on the power play one”, or the second line of Jonathan Huberdeau, Sam Bennett, and Owen Tippett “likewise for Huberdeau and Bennett as a two-man as they are the two from the second line represented on the top power-play unit”. Aaron Ekblad can be added with the top line if using them and looking to add a defenseman as he shares correlation with them in terms of both even strength and power play. 10/14 NHL Game Odds and Totals Main Slate of Games – Beginning 7 p.m. ET Montreal Canadiens (-140) at Buffalo Sabres (+115) – 6 Projected Goal Total Toronto Maple Leafs (-175) at Ottawa Senators (+145) – 6 Projected Goal Total Pittsburgh Penguins (+150) at Florida Panthers (-180) – 6 Projected Goal Total Dallas Stars (+105) at New York Rangers (-120) – 6 Projected Goal Total New York Islanders (+105) at Carolina Hurricanes (-125) – 5.5 Projected Goal Total Main Slate Games Continued Arizona Coyotes (+115) at Columbus Blue Jackets (-130) – 6 Projected Goal Total Tampa Bay Lightning (-250) at Detroit Red Wings (+195) – 6 Projected Goal Total “7:30 p.m.” Seattle Kraken (+105) at Nashville Predators (-125) – 6 Projected Goal Total – “8:00 p.m.” Late Game Las Vegas Golden Knights (-155) at Los Angeles Kings (+125) – 6 Projected Goal Total 10/14 NHL FanDuel Individual Rankings Centers John Tavares – Toronto – $7,200 Aleksandr Barkov – Florida – $7,600 Jeff Carter – Pittsburgh – $5,300 Jared McCann – Seattle – $4,000 Alexander Kerfoot – Toronto – $4,500 Anthony Cirelli – Tampa Bay – $4,300 Wingers Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay – $8,300 Nick Ritchie – Toronto – $4,500 Carter Verhaeghe – Florida – $4,900 Max Pacioretty – Las Vegas – $8,000 Mitchell Marner – Toronto – $7,700 Tyler Toffoli – Montreal – $6,300 Defense Alex Martinez – Las Vegas – $4,900 Roman Josi – Nashville – $6,000 Jeff Petry – Montreal – $5,100 Mackenzie Weegar – Florida – $5,100 Morgan Reilly – Toronto – $6,100 Alex Pietrangelo – Las Vegas – $6,600 Goalies Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay – $8,900 “Only pair with Cash games or with variant/off the board lineup” Sam Montembault – Montreal – $7,500 Phillip Grubauer – Seattle – $7,200 10/14 NHL DraftKings Individual Rankings Centers John Tavares – Toronto – $7,600 Aleksandr Barkov – Florida – $7,400 Brayden Point – Tampa Bay – $6,900 Sam Bennett – Florida – $4,200 Alexander Kerfoot – Toronto – $4,400 Anthony Cirelli – Tampa Bay – $3,900 Wingers Steven Stamkos – Tampa Bay – $5,700 Nikita Kucherov – Tampa Bay – $8,400 Jonathan Huberdeau – Florida – $5,300 Ondrej Palat – Tampa Bay – $4,600 Nick Ritchie – Toronto – $3,100 Brendan Gallagher – Montreal – $3,400 Defense Morgan Reilly – Toronto – $4,900 Aaron Ekblad – Florida – $5,800 Jeff Petry – Montreal – $5,600 Victor Hedman – Tampa Bay – $6,900 Roman Josi – Nashville – $6,300 Alex Pietrangelo – Las Vegas – $6,700 Goalies Andrei Vasilevskiy – Tampa Bay – $8,400 “Only pair with Cash games or with variant/off the board lineup” Phillip Grubauer – Seattle – $7,400 Igor Shesterkin – New York Rangers – $7,900 Cash Considerations “DraftKings” Sam Bennett – C – Florida, John Tavares -C – Toronto, Steven Stamkos – RW – Tampa Bay, Nikita Kucherov – RW – Tampa Bay, Nick Ritchie – LW – Toronto, Ondrej Palat – LW – Tampa Bay, Morgan Reilly – D – Toronto, Andrei Vasilevskiy – Goalie – Tampa Bay Cash Considerations “FanDuel” Jeff Carter – C – Pittsburgh, Jared McCann – C – Seattle, John Tavares – C – Toronto, Nikita Kucherov – RW – Tampa Bay, Alex Martinez – D – Las Vegas, Jeff Petry – D – Montreal, Andrei Vasilevskiy – Goalie – Tampa Bay Make sure to hop in our Expert Discord Chat for FREE!
