What’s happening ladies and gentlemen? We find ourselves in the process of navigating the tricky dog days of the NBA playoffs. We only have a little two-game slate and with us getting into round two that’s going to be the norm here and beyond. With slates like these I typically recommend avoiding cash contest but if you are still running cash lineups have no fear. I still have my selections for you to help you continue your winning ways. A lot of what we say between the articles will be echoing the same thing due to a shortened slate so bear with us if it sounds a little repetitive. Enough talking , here are my cash game NBA Breakdown For 9.7.

Slate Note: My picks are going to be a good bit less due to the size of the slate but there should be a few guys that we can take advantage up tonight. I am personally off of Nikola Jokic in all formats if he plays. Additionally I’m going to format my plays by price not position today.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.7: Top tier for the sake of this slate is anyone over 8K.

Kawhi Leonard, Clippers, 10.1K(DK)10.6K(FD) :

Top of the mountain and for good reason. Kawhi just goes out and does his thing moves on. He’s been playing in the high 30’s-low 40’s most nights and you pretty much know that he will give you a good score on most nights.

Paul George, Clippers, 8.3K(DK)/7.3K(FD):

“Playoff P” finally looks like he is earning his goofy moniker. He hasn’t had a ceiling game by any stretch but he’s given you numerous performances of over 40 DK points which is a decent enough floor for cash.

Kyle Lowry, Raptors,8.2K(DK)/9.2K(FD) :

Lowry has caught fire of late in his last three games his minutes, shot attempts, and rebounds have increased giving him two 50+DK and one 40+DK point performances. I’m going to ride the hot hand on this one it is that easy.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.7, Mid Tier: Mid Tier will be from 5K to 8K.

Fred Van Vleet, Raptors 7.8K(DK)/7.9K(FD):

If you don’t think Lowry will continue what he has been doing, or if you want to pair them up really Van Vleet is your guy. Even with Kyle going crazy Fred is still getting his normal 5-6x production. He’s playing low to mid 40’s minutes and in seven of his last 10 he has thrown up at least 10 three point attempts.

Jaylen Brown, Celtics, 7.5K(DK)/7.7K(FD):

I’m just waiting on Brown to go off and now that Hayward is out of the picture I can see a 50DK point outing any day now. Everything is there, his minutes, shot attempts and rebounds are all in a position to where he just needs a few of them to start falling and it will be a huge boon for everyone who can get the night right.

Jerami Grant, Nuggets, 5.2K(DK)/5.0K(FD):

Even if Jokic goes I think he will be severely limited and end up not being out there much leaving it to guys like Grant and Paul Milsap to carry the load underneath. Grant played 40 minutes in game two and returned 6x value while going 1-9 from the field. If he takes his normal 8-10 shots and makes five or 6 of them with all else being equal you’re looking at a fantastic night for Grant.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.7, Value Tier: Value Tier is below 5K.

Paul Millsap, Nuggets, 4.7K(DK)/4.9K(FD):

If I am off of Jokic than I almost need to be on Millsap. For tournaments I fear that he might be too chalky to play tonight, luckily for us we don’t worry about that in cash. He returned a beautiful 8x value on his salary in game one, followed by a meh outing. In game two however, he played more minutes, took more shots, and was overall more involved in the offense. He just didn’t get the ancillary stats that helped him in game one which is not the norm for him. He usually gives you a little in the assist and steals category every night. Not much, but it makes the difference when a guy is priced down.

Ivica Zubac, Clippers, 4.9K(DK)/5.0K(FD):

Steady Eddie right now, with a reasonable price and a reasonable floor he is the boring guy that you throw into your cash lineup to get you your 5-6x value and save a little money for your studs. I’m avoiding Jokic tonight because of the ankle issue and paying up elsewhere.

Jamychal Green, Clippers, 3.6K(DK)/3.9K(FD):

This one could very well be fools gold but we need to find value wherever we can. Clippers were playing from behind and in an attempt to figure something out Green got in the rotation and had his best outing since the shutdown. He played 26 minutes and gave them a double-double in the process. If Doc like the end result this may have earned him a little extra time on the court which presents us with a nice value at under 4K.

NBA GPP Picks 9/5

In this article I will be breaking down NBA GPP Picks 9/5. I will inform you with at least one player per position that strikes my interest and If I am interested in a player on only one site, I will be site specific. I will be using DraftKings pricing for this article.

For this slate of NBA GPP Picks 9/5 we have two games with Toronto vs. Boston and Denver vs. Los Angeles Clippers. Toronto @ Boston in Vegas is currently at 214 for a total and just a one-point spread. Projected to be a tight game and that three by OG Anunoby just might’ve been what the Raptors needed. Denver @ LAC Vegas currently has at 221 ½ with a 9-point spread in favor of the Clippers. There is no new injury news that we need to keep tabs on but that can change in the blink of an eye. A good way to stay up to date with any news is join myself and the rest of the WinDaily staff in the Discord Chat rooms as we stay updated on any news throughout the day.

NBA GPP Picks 9/5

PG

Patrick Beverley – ($3,600)

He only played twelve minutes last game due to just returning from an extended absence of nearly a month as he only returned for one game during that time. He posted 19 fantasy points in just his twelve minutes, but I expect the minutes to increase as the Clippers would love for him to pester Jamal Murray as much as possible. In the bubble the Nuggets have allowed the second most fantasy points to point guards as well. With a minute’s increase, the matchup, and the high intensity player that Beverley is he could be a nice salary saving option.

SG

Fred VanVleet – ($7,700)

The usage has just been massive for VanVleet as he has attempted 22 field goals in the last two games against Boston and double digit three-point attempts on all three games. He has also played over 40 minutes in the past two games, so if this game stays close, he should see the same. VanVleet has shot an awful 33% from the field so far this series and still been scoring nearly 40 fantasy points, As long as a few more shots fall, his fantasy points and upside should increase.

SF

Kawhi Leonard – ($10,400)

This guy has just been a machine in the playoffs scoring over 30 real points in five out of the seven games these playoffs. In his most recent game is the only game these playoffs that Leonard has scored under 50 fantasy points. Kawhi is the go-to guy for the Clippers and the ball is in his hands down the stretch. I think this game is going to stay closer and like for Kawhi to take over. Denver also has the third worst Defensive rating out of all playoff teams, and the worst out of all remaining teams.

PF

Jerami Grant – ($4,900)

 Given the price and his production it Is hard to avoid Grant. He has played nearly 40 minutes in all games that have been close these playoffs and scored near or more than 20 fantasy points. The Clippers are going to make someone else beat them other than Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, so someone is going to need to step up and hit shots. I feel as if Grant is the best bet to do so against a clippers team that has been the sixth fastest team in the playoffs and the second fastest team remaining behind only Milwaukee.

C

Montrezl Harrell – ($4,300)

Harrell has been very hit or miss but does have a 30-point fantasy performance in the playoffs. I like Harrell as a pivot away from Robert Williams who is projected nearly 30% owned, even when Kanter played some minutes last game. In three games against Denver he is averaging 23 minutes per game and scoring 36.6 fantasy points in those games. This is a reasonable price for Harrell as we’ve seen him north of 6K this season.

That will wrap up this Saturday segment of NBA GPP Picks 9/5 two game slate. I expect the Nuggets to keep this game closer than Game one, that is why I like that second game of the slate. As of now 1EST there is still no new news to keep up with so we should be clear, but find myself and the rest of the WinDaily staff in the Discord Chat rooms as we assist you with lineup construction and keep you updated on any news that may get released.

NBA DFS: Core Four 9.5

With the continuation of two game slates that are basically repeats, we’ll be paring back the articles just a touch. The team will always have one article for our members and the Discord, but writing 2-3 articles doesn’t make a lot of sense. Toronto is looking to even their series with Boston and Denver is trying to get up off the mat tonight after the Clippers demolished them. We are familiar with most of the plays in these series by this point so let’s take a look at who stands out for NBA DFS: Core Four 9.5!

Kyle Lowry

Toronto is going to be popular for me an others today and it’s not exceptionally hard to see why – minutes. Lowry played all but two minutes of Game 3 and played through a knee to a sensitive area. Not only did he make a glorious pass to help win Game 3, he was aggressive all game long and shot the ball 23 times. Pouring in 31 real points led to 54 DK, and he’s not going to be off the court very often tonight either. He could flirt with a triple double again.

Fred VanVleet

I’ll sound like a broken record but I’ll play VanVleet until the wheels fall off or his pricing moves a little bit. One of the reasons Toronto is in the hole is the shooting and play of FVV and Pascal Siakam. I will continue to put out there that VanVleet is not shooting all that well. Things started to correct in Game 3 and have improved all three games. He’s going to have a game where he goes 6/8 from deep and scores 30 real points. I’m not missing that game.

OG Anunoby

The hero of the day for the Raptors checks in at a not cheap price tag, but we’re chasing as many minutes on the floor as we can. Traditionally, we want 6x from all our players. However, that’s not always going to be the case with playoff pricing. OG should get right around 6x though with all his peripheral stats. There’s not an overwhelming amount of plays that can score 38 DK on just eight shots from the field. OG hits the glass and can rack up steals and blocks. Give me 40+ minutes and let the chips fall where they may.

Daniel Theis

If you watched the broadcast of Game 3, the Raptors opened up the third quarter in a zone defense and Celtics coach Brad Stevens turned to Enes Kanter for some minutes. Boston eventually started to figure it out, so I still believe that it’s not a tactic here to stay. That means we can still look to Robert Williams to save salary, but Theis has secure minutes regardless.

In both competitive games in this series, he’s played 30 minutes. He’s hit at least 22 DK scoring a combined 12 points the past two games as well. His shining moment came with a double-double in Game 1 and that’s not terribly out of the question tonight either. The positional flexibility is helpful on DK as well, as is OG’s.

Rest of the build

Plugging in these four leaves you with $5,850 on DK. To my eyes, there’s two ways to finish it. One way is to maintain the balance approach, using Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown, Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris and other mid-range to $8,000 players. The second is to use a cheaper player like Patrick Beverly and pair him with Kawhi Leonard. If Denver can put up a fight, Kawhi carries about the highest ceiling on the slate. Denver had no answers for him and if they couldn’t really stop Donovan Mitchell, odds aren’t good for stopping Kawhi.

Enough talking , here are my cash game NBA Breakdown For 9.1.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.1, Guards

Gary Harris, Nuggets, 3.9K(DK)/4.5K(FD):

I normally would not be recommending a guy who has has only played one game since March but playoffs are a completely different beast and we have to look for value anywhere that it is available. Harris appears to be firmly planted in a bench role for now and I do not expect more than 25 minutes but if Gary’s shot is falling that is all he will need to get you to value. I know we are in the playoffs and every game matters but game 7’s carry a unique urgency so I expect the offensive output to be high from both teams tonight.

Jamal Murray, 9.7K(DK)/9.4K(FD):

It is always strange feeling to recommend Murray in cash and even more so at this price but he has been playing amazing ball lately. He has been playing over 40 minutes a game in his last three and has given you real life point total of 50, 42, and 50 in the last three respectively and I have no reason to doubt that this is going to continue tonight. My early lean is to rely heavily on this Denver/Utah match-up in any format due to the lack of defense (aside from one blowout game totals have been no worse than 224) and the game seven urgency that will keep the stars on the court for no less than 40 minutes on both sides.

Donovan Mitchell, Jazz, 9.7K(DK)/8.5K(FD):

You can basically take everything that I said about Murray and copy/paste for Mitchell with just a slightly lower points and minutes total. Game 7, there is no way Spida plays less than 40 minutes and there is no way he doesn’t try to carry his Jazz to the next round with a monster performance.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.1, Forwards:

Jaylen Brown, Celtics, 7.3K(DK)/6.3K(FD):

I really like his price today on FanDuel from a cash game perceptive. I doubt he is going to be going 8x on tonight but he has been very consistent in non blowout games staying around 40 minutes and taking no less than 15 shots per. I have no reason to think the Raptors get smoked like they did in game one and even though I expect a lower total from this contest, the Raptors and Celtics actually play at a higher pace than both Denver and Utah (although I don’t think that is a true statement in the playoffs).

Daniel Theis, Celtics, 5.2K(DK)/5.3K(FD):

I am hoping I don’t regret this one. Toronto strangely looks like they have no answer for Theis underneath. He scored 13 point and brought in 15 boards in 25 minutes of the game one trouncing and I think the formula will be much the same tonight. It’s pretty thin at power forward on FanDuel so if Theis gets at least 25 minutes tonight I don’t see how you can avoid him tonight.

Royce O’neil, Jazz, 4.5K(DK)/4.6K(FD):

Like I said, power forward is thin in terms of cash on FanDuel. I prefer to pay a little further down in both spots to use that savings to get both Murray and Mitchell in your lineups. Nothing sexy about this selection. What he gives you is close to 40 minutes of play and the ability to accumulate a bit of everything in the ancillary stats to help you stay above the cash line with the outside chance to give you the occasional 35-40 DK point ceiling game.

Cash Game NBA Breakdown 9.1, Centers:

Mark Gasol, Raptors, 4.1K(DK)/4.5K(FD):

I like Gasol today when it comes to freeing up little salary to let you pay up for all of those expensive studs. He didn’t see a ton of minutes in round one (low-mid 20’s) but he still has the ability to hit value in limited work and he gives you a reasonable floor of around 20 DK points which is what you need to keep from destroying your cash contests. I would not use him under any circumstances in a GPP dues to his lack of ceiling but that’s not really what we’re worried about here.

Nikola Jokic, Nuggets, 9.5K(DK)/9.8K(FD):

My other main pay up spot if you didn’t notice prior comes from the Nuggets/Jazz game. My core in 100 percent of contests tonight will have Mitchell, Murray, and Jokic and I’ll just fill in with value. His price is a little high based on his recent production but he’s going to play 40 minutes tonight and he has a legitimate chance to give you 70 plus points on DK and FD on any given night. I usually avoid bigs against Rudy Gobert but Jokic takes the bulk of his shots from outside so I’m not as concerned about his defense in this case.

I feel very confident in both Murray and Mitchell on the over today and Tatum’s rebound total feels a little low for the pace tonight. I would absolutely hammer the first two with complete confidence.

NBA GPP Picks 8/30

In this article I will be breaking down NBA GPP Picks 8/30. I will inform you with at least one player per position that strikes my interest and If I am interested in a player on only one site, I will be site specific. I will be using DraftKings pricing for this article.

Today we get to start the second round of the NBA playoffs along with two game sixes for this NBA GPP Picks 8/30 slate. Our highest scoring game according to Vegas is Clippers vs Dallas with a massive 238 ½ total. This is remarkably interesting as Dallas has a slough of injuries and questionable players, we will need to keep a close eye on. The Boston vs Toronto series should be a fantastic series to watch. Make sure you head over to the Discord chat rooms, with myself and the rest of the WinDaily staff to keep stay updated on all the injury news that may occur.

NBA GPP Picks 8/23

PG

Jordan Clarkson – ($5,300)

He has yet to score under 25 fantasy points during this series, which is solid value with the stiffer pricing at this point in the playoffs. He comes off the bench and puts up, as he has attempted double digit shot attempts in every game this series as well. Denver has given up the most points to point guards and the second most to shooting guards over the past two weeks. Clarkson should have another solid performance with his matchup and usage.

SG

Fred VanVleet – ($7,700)

This man is just a machine in the playoffs scoring over 40 fantasy points in each game he played over 30 minutes. His last game was an outlier as he got in foul trouble and then the blowout, he only played 19 minutes but still scoring 26 fantasy points. Averaging 36.5 fantasy points against Boston during the regular season, if VanVleet gets his massive minutes as usual he shouldn’t have a problem eclipsing 36.5.

SF

Jayson Tatum – ($9,200)

Another game without Gordon Hayward is good news for Tatum who leads the team in usage at 31.2% with Hayward off the floor. Tatum scored over 50 fantasy points in three out of the four games against the 76ers. Toronto is a good matchup for small forwards as they have given up the third most fantasy points to small forwards in the past two weeks. Tatum should have a big day as Kemba may have a tough time against the defense of these Toronto guards.

PF

Michael Porter Jr. – ($5,500)

This price is what draws my interest here, and I expect Utah to be certain to at least contain Jamal Murray during this night cap. Clearly this is a tournament play as his minutes did dip two games prior to game five. I think that was just sending a message to him if you won’t at least try on defense you wont play. In five games against Utah, Porter has averaged 32.7 fantasy points. Porter still can score above 30 fantasy points if he plays 30 minutes which should be solid value for a tough power forward position this slate.

C

Enes Kanter – ($3,700)

If most of the Dallas players are good to go, I will look here or Daniel Theis for some salary relief. Toronto plays with a big lineup rolling out Siakam, Gasol, and Ibaka throughout the game. Kanter usually performs whenever he gets minutes and with a bigger lineup of Toronto, I expect Kanter to see minutes. Kanter has also averaged 24 fantasy points against Toronto this season.  Jarrett Allen played extremely well against Toronto big men last series. These Boston big men could provide some salary relief.

That will conclude this weekend of NBA GPP Picks 8/30 three game slate. We have plenty of injury news in Dallas with four players questionable and Porzingis ruled out with a Meniscus tear. With no Porzingis Dallas may throw in the towel and Luka may sit today too, regardless you’re going to need to make sure you keep an eye on this news. A good way to follow that news is join myself and the rest of the staff in the Discord chat rooms as we follow all injury news and keep you updated on our favorite plays. Thanks for reading, Goodluck, and enjoy your Sunday!

NBA DFS: Cash Game Core Four 8.30

WE have another three game slate in front of us and while cash games are getting a little tougher as we go, it’s still a viable format. Iy’s a bit of an oddball slate because we have two earlier games and then the Jazz vs the Nuggets are not until 8:30 PM. The name of the game is consistency so let’s take a look for the NBA DFS: Cash Game Core Four 8.30!

Kawhi Leonard

We talk about wanting consistency with our cash picks and Playoff Kawhi is that man since the playoffs have tipped. Through the five games vs the Mavericks, Kawhi has yet to dip under 50 DK points. Taking the last game that was a massive blowout out of the mix, he’s played a minimum of 38 minutes every game. Luka Doncic has had a couple extra days to nurse that ankle, so this game should stay close enough. I’m going to plug in my 50 DK floor and move on.

Jamal Murray

*UPDATE* Luka Doncic is drawing heavy ownership so it’s best to leave Murray as a GPP target. Build your cash games around the Kawhi/Luka duo and value plays from the Clippers/Mavericks game.

Choosing a player in this tier is pretty difficult. We have Paul George who came alive last game out (but still was only around 40 DK). We could go up slightly to Jayson Tatum or dip down to Pascal Siakam, but my choice is Murray. Yes, consistency and floor is important. It doesn’t hurt to have a cash player with some ceiling as well.

Denver has been totally blown up in two games. In the three games that were close/they won, Murray has been incredible. He’s put up at least 59 DK in those games and showed a ceiling of 82 DK! Denver is still on the brink and they need Nikola Jokic and Murray to continue to carry them.

Royce O’Neal

Probably about the least exciting pick, we need some style of savings and O’Neal fits the bill. He’s under $5,000 and unless you’re spending up on Tatum or Siakam, the PF position doesn’t offer a ton. O’Neal is not a big piece of the Utah attack but he plays a ton of minutes. In addition, the DKPM doesn’t look that bad since the bubble started either.

He’s scoring 0.96 DKPM compared to 0.69 in the regular season. Some of that is when Mike Conley missed a couple games and Utah coasted into the playoffs. Still, even a 0.69 DKPM is useful and anything else is a bonus.

Tim Hardaway Jr.

Really, this could just be a spot for Dallas value. If we’re playing Kawhi, we want pieces to go with him because this game has the highest O/U on the day by 16.5 points right now. When we take Kristaps Porzingis off the floor, both THJ and Maxi Kleber have a 0.88 DKPM. The big difference is THJ has usage to go with his mark at 23.1% and will need to score to keep Dallas in this one. I would believe that THJ and Kleber both carry some serious ownership and really am fine locking both into any cash lineup.

Players to Consider

Even if we use Kleber and THJ, that leaves you $5,166 for the last three spots. Some of the players I’m looking to fill those slots include – Jokic, Tatum, George, Siakam, Fred VanVleet, Kemba Walker, Rudy Gobert, Marcus Morris, OG Anunoby, Ivica Zubac/Montrezl Harrell (I’m interested in Brian’s and Ghost’s opinion on this play), Seth Curry, Trey Burke

NBA GPP Picks 8/29

In this article I will be breaking down NBA GPP Picks 8/29. I will inform you with at least one player per position that strikes my interest and If I am interested in a player on only one site, I will be site specific. I will be using DraftKings pricing for this article.

We are back with NBA GPP Picks 8/29 for game five of these series after the brief layoff. During this layoff Damian Lillard has left the bubble, as well as Aaron Gordon. We will also get Russell Westbrook back on the court for the Rockets. It will be a three-game slate to breakdown the same slate as a few days ago as DraftKings has left pricing the same as the slate that was refunded. In case we get late altering news make sure you head over to the Discord Chat rooms, as me and the rest of the WinDaily staff are in there to keep you up to date on the slate.

NBA GPP Picks 8/23

PG

CJ McCollum – ($8,200)

McCollum is another guy that has been seeing massive minutes these playoffs playing over 42 minutes in the games Portland has kept close. Even in the games that were out of hand McCollum still played 33 minutes. With the massive minutes and the usage increase of 5.2% totaling a usage of 31.4%, McCollum has massive upside and should pay off his price tag.

SG

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – ($7,400)

When your playing Houston and seeing North of 40 minutes its tough not to hit value. SGA has seen more than 40 minutes in the previous two games and score above 44 fantasy points in both games. Over the past two weeks Houston has given up the fourth most fantasy points to shooting guards. The three main guards are the focal point of this offense and I will have a share of all three.

SF

Carmelo Anthony – ($5,900)

Clearly without Lillard we have a ton of usage for other players to consume and Anthony is one of them. With Lillard off the floor Anthony gets a usage bump of 7.6% and adds 10.72 fantasy points per 36 minutes. My biggest concern here is does this game stay close, but if it is close you can bet Carmelo will be a huge factor in that. Much like McCollum, Carmelo has massive upside and should pay off his price tag.

PF

Danuel House Jr. ($5,100)

With Westbrook returning some people may shy away from the rockets due to the prices and uncertainty of what happens with minutes. House should have safe minutes though as the previous game played 39 minutes, good for second highest on the team only behind Harden. House has also shot 50% from the field during the playoffs so I expect the Rockets to continue getting him double digit shot attempts.

C

Nikola Vucevic – ($9,200)

First off, Milwaukee was the fastest paced team in the league this season. In the past month in the bubble they have given up the fourth most fantasy point to centers. In the past two weeks the Bucks have given up the most fantasy points to centers. Vucevic has been the go-to guy in this offense averaging over 20 shots per game and scoring over 50 fantasy points in three out of the four matchups between these teams. Its tough to avoid a player with a matchup like this one, another 60-point performance won’t be out of question.

That will conclude my article of NBA GPP Picks 8/29 three game slate. I don’t love a ton of cheap options I will roll a more balanced lineup, but if you’re looking Anfernee Simons and Gary Clark will be two of my top cheaper options. It should be an interesting slate with different strategies that can be used as far as the Laker game getting out of hand and Westbrook making his return. All totals in Vegas were between 223 ½ and 227 so no huge advantages in that aspect. Basketball will continue for the time being so let’s enjoy it. Don’t forget to join myself and the rest of the WinDaily staff in the Discord Chat rooms where we further dissect our favorite plays. Best of luck on the slate and thank you for reading my content.

NBA DFS: Core Four 8.25

With Brian back killing it on Picks and Pivots, I’ll be shifting to a new piece. We were using a “Games to Target” theory, but as the field gets smaller that doesn’t make as much sense. Instead, we’ll focus on a Core Four for the slate moving forward. There’s only two games tonight so the NBA DFS: Core Four 8.25 and other parts of the lineup are going to be chalky. That’s not exactly a bad thing with some good chalk to eat in the first player.

Luka Doncic

This is a fun and respectful point of contention with myself and Brian today. Brian (very justifiably) is on the Luka fade train tonight and that train of thought makes absolute sense. Especially on a two game slate, you have to take some chances to get to the top of the board. However, the only way I’m fading Luka is if I’m playing at least 20 lineups and then just one or two without him.

Luka is coming off an all-time playoff performance and may not have Kristaps Porzingis. Even if KP plays, A. he almost can’t be 100% on that knee and B. Luka has ceiling with KP. Just look at Game 1 when Luka went for 65 DK. Game’s 2 and 3 saw him under 30 minutes because of foul trouble and the original ankle injury. Porzingis will be under-owned tonight but I’m eating the Luka chalk and trying to find differences elsewhere. He has the highest ceiling, although the next two players are right behind him.

Kawhi Leonard

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this to Kawhi, but he is allowed to guard Luka at the end of the game. Just food for thought for one of the best defensive players in the league. Anyways, the second true stud comes down to Kawhi or Donovan Mitchell. I was eyeing Mitchell but Nick brought up a great point on the live stream – what happens if Mitchell doesn’t score 50 real points? You’re very likely to be disappointed, so we’re riding with Kawhi.

He’s much more stable and I have to think we get a very motivated Kawhi tonight. That loss was embarrassing after choking a 20 point lead away and Luka was hitting shots over Reggie Jackson. The floor for Kawhi so far has been 53 DK and he’s covering for Paul George. He’s missed a double-double by one rebound the last two games and he’s on court for 40 minutes a night. I’m on board.

Jamal Murray

We’ve been very expensive so far and Murray isn’t cheap by any stretch, but he’s not expensive enough. For Denver to stave off elimination tonight, Murray is going to have to go nuts. He is going to be scoring dependent and the price can get scary. However, the ceiling is absolutely there with a 59 DK game and 82 last time out. The common thread in those two games? Denver was actually competitive in those two.

I don’t believe the Nuggets roll over and die. Furthermore, there’s got to be a game where the Jazz don’t shoot the lights out of the gym. They’ve been flirting with 60% from the floor for much of the series. Murray likely needs to put up 30 real points tonight and play almost the entire game. He was on the court for 43 minutes last time and I’d fully expect that again.

Ivica Zubac/Boban Marjanovic

We need someone cheap for NBA DFS: Core Four 8.25. With the other three in this lineup, spending on Nikola Jokic or Rudy Gobert simply isn’t possible. Instead, let’s use this spot to save some money and get the ability to wait on Porzingis news.

I’m slotting Zubac at the C slot and that may be different right off the hop. If KP does sit, you can swap to Boban and have an upgrade in mind elsewhere. My belief is that many spend up and pair Joker or Gobert with Luka. That leaves Murray or Kawhi “lower” than maybe some think. Instead, Zubac plays about 20-24 minutes a night and Montrezl Harrell has been abysmal so far this series. To wit, here’s his plus/minus on the floor so far.

Game 1 -7

Game 2 -15

Game 3 -5

Game 4 -19

For those scoring at home, the Clippers have been out-scored by 46 points when Trez is on the floor. FORTY. SIX. POINTS. By contrast, Zubac is a +35 in four games. They couldn’t be on more opposite ends of the spectrum and I think we’ve established LA can’t treat this series with anything but seriousness. Zubac is the better player right now. He’s not likely to put up 40 DK, but a rock solid 20-24 DK will do just fine in this slot.

Players to Consider

With three high-priced players, we do need some fillers. I will have two lineups tonight, one with this core and one that works with a Luka/Lou Williams/Kawhi foundation. Some players that I’m looking at to accomplish that are –

Seth Curry, Trey Burke, Monte Morris, Royce O’Neal, Reggie Jackson, Tim Hardaway Jr., Jordan Clarkson, Maxi Kleber and Landry Shamet.
