We are back today with the start of NHL season and another wildcard MLB playoff game. Let’s quickly talk about yesterday’s play. First of all it was extraordinarily frustrating. Elena Delle Donne got hurt very early in the first quarter. For those of you that don’t follow the WNBA that’s like LeBron getting hurt. The Mystics fought the whole way keeping it as close as 1 or 2 possessions until late in the 4th. This is an easy indication that we were right on how often they would win that game. That was a very unfortunate turn of events on a great play. The Nats game played out very close to expectation. A not so great Scherzer letting up early runs although good enough to bounce back and not let it get worse. A close game that in the end the Nats were able to prevail. How close the game was also showed that getting a better price was the way to go as well. It’s just one of those plays you do everything right and it still can go against you. It also shows why parlays are as profitable for the books as they are. You not only have to be right but you also have to fade the randomness of sports and do so in more than one game. In the end it’s one play and there’s no need to dwell on it.

Hey everybody we are back for a day of playoff baseball. We are coming off a very nice win with the Steelers on Monday night!!

We have the Brewers at the Nats. This has become quite an interesting game. Scherzer is on the hill for Washington and despite it being Max Scherzer he has had his struggles lately. This is however an elimination game at home and if there is ever a time that Max will put his best out it’s this. On the Brewers side they are obviously missing Yelich. This is so critical and even more so in a game like this. They are also banged up a little on the hitting side. Putting everything together I’m willing to take my chances and go with Max and the Nats.

Tonight we are going to do something that we very rarely do which is throw in a parlay. I don’t recommend a lot of these however there are definitely times I like them. We have a baseball game where I definitively like the Nats however laying around 1.7 as it stands doesn’t excite me. We also have game two of the WNBA Finals and I have the Mystics winning at a higher rate than the around -380 they currently are. That bet on it’s own is too high risk however it’s perfect to pair with the Nats. That’s what I’m going to do and suggest you do as well.

Yesterday we had a solid start with a very disappointing afternoon. There were a lot of tough games and some days that can be the case. We had a couple good ones with the Browns and Lions however it wasn’t enough. As we are still up a ton of units on the season there’s no reason to sweat it.

Let’s move on to tonight’s game. This is another one that is a tough matchup. Divisional opponents on a Monday night. Both teams are not good it’s as simple as that. I don’t like to play games like this very often. This isn’t one we will attack hard however there are some factors I like for the Steelers. That’s where our money will be. Right now the line is -3.5 +100 or -3 -125 or close to those. I don’t think either is bad you are getting essentially the same price both ways it’s more preference imo. I normally like to lower my risk as I think my win rate will cover any extra paid juice. However -3/-3.5 is an overpaid spot. If it lands on 3 it only gets you a tie so essentially you are paying over double the juice for half the return. The official play with be -3.5 +100 however it’s your choice which one you want to take.

Yesterday was a mess for so many reasons. Air Force gave us maybe the worst beat of the year. Up 31 with 4 minutes left they let up 14 points. They only let up 10 points the rest of the game. This caused us to miss covering by almost nothing. Cal was looking good and lost their starting QB. I jumped into slack chat and told everyone to grab ASU at half. Hopefully all of you saw that.
