MLB DFS Stacks for 6/21: Roaring Rangers Jared Contestabile 5 years ago written by Jared Contestabile 1.) Texas RangersI’ll start off by saying Reynaldo Lopez is a gas can. On the road this season he holds a 7.28 ERA with a .314 BAA. He also has more trouble striking out lefties, which results an the uptick in walks to them. I’m in love with every single lefty here in no particular order. I will prioritize Choo over everyone. The Rangers are far and away my favorite stack. 2.) Minnesota TwinsJakob Junis is terrible, can we all agree? At home this season he has posted a 5.68 ERA with a .276 BAA. The thing I love about this matchup is that he cannot get lefties out. With a .302 BAA along with a .522 SLG and a 46.3% hard hit rate, he’s going to get shelled. To go with my favorite plays of the day, I LOVE Eddie Rosario here. He is a left-handed slugger who can pop off for a multi home run game at any moment. Pair him up with Jorge Polanco, Max Kepler and Luis Arraez.3.) Boston Red SoxThe Red Sox get Trent Thornton coming into town and I think they’re salivating as much as I am. Although Thornton has found success (2.98 ERA) away from Toronto, I think he is going to struggle here. The two main left-handed bats, Andrew Benintendi, is a main target. Thornton has his struggles with left-handed bats, as he is giving up a .262 BAA and a ton of extra base hits. If you can afford it, I would love to employ Benintendi, Martinez and Betts here.4.) Chicago White SoxAriel Jurado is a very confusing pitcher, as he seems to hold his own in Texas and then gets blown up on the road. With the White Sox coming into town, I think that story changes here. Jose Abreu is hands down a Top 3 guy for me on the slate. Against right-handed bats Jurado, has a .330 BAA and a .580 SLG. Eloy Jimenez is also one of my top bats tonight, I think if you don’t want to stack them or need two very strong one-offs, I would take either of them. We’ll discuss who outperformed their expectations and others who did not live up to their price tags. All fantasy points and values are based off DraftKings pricing.WinnersMax Kepler ($4,800)Very few players are able to provide the line that Kepler did against the Cleveland Indians yesterday. He finished 4-for-4 with three home runs, four RBI, three runs scored and a walk, all from the leadoff spot in the order. While Kepler played an amazing game, he might have too high of a price tag today. Look for another player if his price increases.Kepler’s OutlookKepler wasn’t a prime suspect to have such a great game yeserday, having only one hit in his previous 25 at-bats. The ball is springing off his bat this season though, as he now has 15 home runs and is on pace to post a new career-high in both HRs and RBI. His next game will be against the Detroit Tigers in Comerica Park. Even though Kepler could utilize his speed in this ballpark, do not expect him to match production like that in back-to-back days.Peter Lambert ($6,300)Lambert had an excellent outing in his MLB debut yesterday against the Chicago Cubs. He finished seven full innings and gave up one run on four hits and added nine strikeouts, walking just one. With Colorado’s starting pitching looking shaky thus far, Lambert has the potential to stay on the big league roster for the remainder of 2019. Lambert’s OutlookLambert performed well and did more than expected even though he was the fourth-highest rated prospect in the Rockies’ organization. He had a 5.07 ERA in Albuquerque (Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate) this season but was able to put it all together on Thursday. He will see the Cubs again in his next scheduled start, this time in Coors Field on Tuesday. Look for him to be a value pick next time out but don’t be surprised to see some regression either.LosersTyler Skaggs ($8,700)Skaggs looked shaky against the Oakland Athletics, going four innings and giving up five runs on six hits. He also had four walks and four strikeouts in a mediocre outing. He did not have control of his pitches and it showed big time. With the hefty price tag, Skaggs needed to perform a lot better than he did. Do not expect him to bounce back next start either. Skaggs’ OutlookThe four free passes were the most he gave up in a game this season. Oakland is in the bottom-half of the league in terms of hitting and this was Skaggs’ opportunity to turn his season around. His next scheduled start is Tuesday at home against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers are the best offensive team in the National League and with the addition of a DH in this matchup, I would avoid Skaggs.Nolan Arenado ($5,500)Arenado went hitless in four at-bats with a strikeout and left a runner on base against the Chicago Cubs. Now he will pitch in Colorado ‘s thin air while being a flyball pitcher (56% flyball rate). Things surely are set up for the Rockies’ offense to succeed at home on Sunday.Minnesota Twins:No team is hotter than the Twinkies right now. Over their last seven games, they are putting up video game-like numbers. As an offense, they have a .325/.398/.662 slash line with a 1.060 OPS and a .338 ISO. With all of this production, the Twins have scored 60 runs in last week. Look for the Twins to stay hot on Sunday as they face the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Dylan Covey.The White Sox’s starter has a 5.31 ERA and the peripherals don’t suggest there will be improvement any time soon. MLB DFS Hitting Stacks for 5/22 – Ride with Rangers Marshall Rosen 5 years ago written by Marshall Rosen Here are thetop teams to stack for MLB’s May 22nd action:Seattle MarinersThe Texas Rangers’ Adrian Sampson is the perfect stacking target on Wednesday as he is due to come in after Jesse Chavez, who only helps make this stack formidable. Sampson has a 4.79 ERA this season as well as a 5.18 SIERA. Sampson also is getting hit extremely hard, as he has a 47.2% hard contact rate in 2019. The Seattle offense will take advantage of these opportunities, as the Mariners have a team ISO of .229 against righties this season. As you construct your Seattle stacks, look to begin with the right-handed bats of the Mariners. Sampson has allowed a .343 batting average, .428 wOBA and 2.22 HR/9 to right-handed hitters this season. Edwin Encarnacion (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $5,300), Mitch Haniger (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $5,300), Ryan Healy (FanDuel: $2,800 DraftKings: $3,700) and Tim Beckham (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,000), are all right-handed batters that have excelled against right-handed pitching this season. Each of these hitters have ISO’s over .200 in those type of matchups. And while heis not a right-handed batter, Daniel Vogelbach (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $5,500),has to make your list of Mariners. The Rangers put up big power numbers against left-handed pitching. Piece thatRangers’ stack together with the left mashers: Joey Gallo (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings:$5,600), Nomar Mazara (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,100), Hunter Pence (FanDuel:$3,900 DraftKings: $5,400) and Danny Santana (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $5,200).New York YankeesWhenever the Baltimore Orioles push Dan Straily to the bump, we are going to be interested in attacking the right-hander with stacks. And today is no different, especially with the Yankees being Straily’s opponent. The New York offense has produced the sixth-highest ISO against right-handed pitching this season. That should play well against Straily, who owns a 6.42 SIERA, 7.24xFIP and 2.93 HR/9 this season, all of which are the highest of any pitcher scheduled to start today.When building your Pinstripes stack, feel free to use any and all Yankees regardless of which side of the plate they bat from. Each ofthose four Yankees’ hitters have .200-plus ISOs against right-handed pitchingin 2019. Houston AstrosThe Astroshave crushed right-handed pitching all season long. They have a .220 ISO, .355wOBA and a 127 wRC+ against them. With the White Sox starting Ivan Nova in thisone, you have to believe they keep smashing, so load up on the Astros. As you loadup on them, feel free to picks batters from either side of the plate. Nova isallowing a .435 wOBA to lefties and a .365 wOBA to righties in 2019.The Astros’stack should begin with the usual suspects.
