LoL DFS: MSC 5/28 Breakdown

Mid-Season Cup LoL DFS: MSC 5/28 Breakdown

What’s going everybody if you don’t know me you can call me Tai or my user (TPJSiX) I’m a new writer at Win Daily for the esports department specializing in LoL, the biggest DFS esport. I’ve won countless GPP’s in LoL being a 1-2 lineup type of person per night, I also play the game League of Legends itself and have a good understanding of how champions, matchups, and what teams are good at what, etc. I’m really excited for this tournament and can’t wait for the LCS/LPL/LCK season to return next month, and I’ll make sure I help you guys all win money as I think esports will grow even more next season.

Format of the tournament:

  1. Ping is artificially standardized to ensure competitive integrity

Group Stage

  • Two groups with four teams each
  • Single round robin
  • All matches are best of one (Very important to take into account not Best of 3 like the regular season)
  • Top 2 from each group advance to the Knockout Stage

Knockout Stage

  • Single Elimination
  • All matches are best of five

The first game of each series is played in blind pick, while the remaining games are played in draft pick

GROUP A/B broken down:

T1 vs. FunPlus Phoenix – 3:00AM ET

DAMWON Gaming vs. Top Esports – 4:00AM ET

Betting Lines/Odds for the 5/28 Slate:

Match Overview:

T1 vs. FunPlus Phoenix – 3:00AM ET

Projected Starting Lineups:

T1: TOP – Canna | JNG – Cuzz | MID – Faker | ADC – Teddy | SUP – Effort

FPX: TOP – GimGoon | JNG – Tian | MID – Doinb | ADC – Lwx | SUP – Crisp

DoinB vs Faker in the mid-lane a very anticipated match up of two of the best teams in their respective region clash to get things started. T1 is a slight favorite here in the opening match-up for Group A. T1 came off winning the LCK spring playoffs and looked very strong in the second half of the split through excellent macroplay (playing around objectives over kills) reason why the kill total of this game is lower than the TES vs DWG which we will talk about later. The three players I want to highlight on the T1 side is Canna (Top) $6200, Cuzz (JG) $6600 who both look dominant in the spring playoffs. T1 is simply just the better team at the moment, but of course it’s a best of 1 so any of these two world class teams can win in a very snowball game meta. Touching on the FPX sides you get the usual DFS candidates targeting the bottom side of the map and ignoring FPX top lane in GimGoon just because he’s known to be a weak side top laner meaning less resource is given to him limiting his fantasy output. I am very heavy on the T1 side most likely targeting the two players I listed above and the team slot as I don’t see how this total goes above 23 kills. I’m projecting a 12-6 type of game played around objectives, and T1 starting off this tournament strong with a victory here.

DAMWON Gaming vs. Top Esports – 4:00AM ET

Projected Starting Lineups:

DWG: TOP – Nuguri | JNG – Canyon | MID – ShowMaker | ADC – Ghost| SUP – BeryL

TES: TOP – 369 | JNG – Karsa | MID – Knight | ADC – JackeyLove | SUP – QiuQiu

TES came in 2nd place and lost the LPL Spring Finals to JD Gaming which came down to the wire who I have coming top 2 in this tournament if not win it all, but they came into the playoffs blazing they looked very good. They added JackeyLove to their roster a few weeks before playoffs, and he has definitely taken them to the top with no pun intended. Top Esports now seems like a complete team after adding one of the best ADCs in the world, but I feel like I still lack support synergy as they had the support role rotate in and out. Overall the odds have this match like a blowout, but like I said in a best of 1 anything can happen, and unlike the T1 vs FPX game I with have shares to both teams in this game as I think DRX is the perfect leverage play in GPP and rostering them will allow you to get whoever you want at the Captain spot. All players are in play in this game, optimally this slate calls for a 4-3 stack and you’re going to want stack the bottom side of both teams (Mid, JG, ADC, Support) and avoid top lane as I think most of the kill shares in this game will not be going to the top laners. Since i’m on both teams I definitely think this game will have more kills than the T1 vs FPX game, but i’m not sure if it goes over the total of 25.5.

Players to Target: (Pricing based on DraftKings)

Red = 100% Exposure

T1:

Faker  (MID) $7400

Canna (Top) $6200

Cuzz (JG) $6600

FPX:

DoinB (MID) $7200

Tian (JG) $6400

Crisp (SUPP) $5400

LWX (ADC) $7400

TES:

Whole roster in play but prioritize:

JackyLove (ADC) $7800

Knight (MID) $7600

Karsa (JG) $6800

DWG:

Nuguri (Top) $5800

Canyon (JG)  $6000

ShowMaker (MID) $6800

Ghost (ADC) $7000

Roster Construction Tips:

4-3 Stack on a two game slate I would advise playing 1-2 lines or at least pick 1 team to go all in on and then hedge the other two just because you’re not going to come out profitable stacking every single team unless you take down a GPP just not a + EV move. I’m all in on T1 and hedging between DWG and TES.

My Core Four:
