In this edition of PGA DFS picks, we’re looking for a big paydayat the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational and helping you find some winning teams!
PGA DFS pricing this week seems to encourage a more balanced approach, but I’ll be certain to mix things up in large-field DraftKings GPPs with a few studs-and-scrubs lineups.

Justin Thomas (DK $10,900) – For a golfer like Thomas who’s interspersed three MCs with six Tops 10s (three of them Top 3s) over his last 10 tournaments, the advantage of playing all four rounds in a no-cut event is one that we should take advantage of, especially since he’s only the fourth-most expensive option in the field. The record at WGC events is good and there’s winning upside, but it might be wise to check in on his caddie before lock.
Rory McIlroy (DK $10,000) – Rory finished fourth here last year in the inaugural event that matched TPC Southwind with this WGC venue, and he’s carrying a chip on his shoulder after losing the No. 1 OWGR to Rahm. He’s an excellent GPP play since he’s no longer the clear betting favorite, and his talent should rise to the top with four guaranteed shots at this course.
Patrick Cantley (DK $10,000) – I’m not hearinga ton of chatter about Cantlay, but I like his chances at a sneaky Top 3 or Top5 finish here. The $10K price might drive some ownership toward cheaper golfersand there’s the recency bias of his poor form at the Memorial (T32). Hisall-around game should translate well here.
Tyrell Hatton (DK $9,700) – Hatton makes birdies in bunches with his prodigious putting and keeps posting excellent finishes (T6-W-T3-T4 in his last four events) on his journey toward major relevance. I can’t imagine he’ll be chalky enough to scare me off increase exposure in GPPs.
Daniel Berger (DK $9,600) – Berger loves this place, as his first two PGA Tour victories came at TPC Southwind, and everything about the venue seems to point to another top 10 finish. I won’t go all-in, but there’s a case to be made for using him even at this elevated price.
Also consider: Jon Rahm, WebbSimpson, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa
Viktor Hovland (DK $9,400) – Hovland may bemaking his WGC debut, but the pedigree is there for another leaderboard appearancecome Sunday. The youngster (first in this stackedfield in SG: Ball Striking, SG: Approach and Opportunities Gained)is actually underpriced considering his consistency hitting the ball long andstraight off the tee and right at flagsticks.
MatthewFitzpatrick (DK $9,000) – One of his most recent breakthroughs was the T4 he posted atSouthwind last year, and his game is heating up as he becomes more comfortablecompeting with the world’s best. The price will bother some folks so I’m morethan happy to go overweight on the slender 25-year-old with the elite shortgame.
PatrickReed (DK $8,800) – When nobody’s talking about Reed, he finds a way into the conversation– a trait that pairs well for GPP use in DFS. The masses don’t like playing aguy they don’t root for, and I’ll gladly cast my personal opinions aside for anedge in single-entry and large-field multi-entry tournaments.
Gary Woodland (DK $8,600) – Woodland is another guy flying under the radar this week, but the former masher has transformed his golf game to be straighter off the tee while maintaining his trademark distance. I know I’m in the minority looking his way, but I like Gary’s performance at similar venues and over the past several no-cut events, so I’ll be overweight on him this week.
AbrahamAncer (DK $8,400) – Ancer ranks 13th on tourin scoring average, which bodes well over four rounds at no-cut events,and his combination of form, overall ball-striking and affordability make himone of my favorite plays in the $8,000 to $8,500 range.
Matthew Wolff (DK $7,900) – The price jumped out at me, even if there’s plenty of risk involved, but Wolff has made some mental adjustments that have paid dividends in his last few events (excluding the Workday Charity Open). An upside-laden bargain in all formats who could see elevated ownership.
Matt Kuchar (DK $7,600) – The reason he’s this cheap is because he’s only finished in the Top 5 once in 2020, and it was at the Genesis Invitational in February. But maybe the pressure if off this week and Kuchar can go back to the things that have led to success in in the past.
Also consider: Hideki Matsuyama &Billy Horschel (Cash), Sergio Garcia & Sungjae Im (GPP)
Ian Poulter (DK $7,400) – Poulter makes for a fine cash game play in the value range, and there’s still plenty of Top 5 upside for a guy who can scramble with the best and doesn’t mind missing a few greens – something that’s going to happen to everyone this week.
AdamHadwin (DK $7,200) – The WinDaily writers’ group text inspired me to take a closer lookat Hadwin as a cash game option, but I’m willing to consider him in GPPs if hisownership doesn’t skyrocket. This is the cheapest we’ll probably ever see him,so it’s worth jumping on.
KevinKisner (DK $7,000) – Kisner is a frustrating golfer in DFS who cares very little aboutthe emotional rollercoaster this community endures, but he’s actually got agreat attitude for competing in strong fields and seems to bring his game inWGC events. At this price, that’s all we’re looking for – a shot at a Top 10.
Chez Reavie (DK $6,700) – Ifwe examine Reavie’s performances at the FedEx St. Jude Classic (which werefull-field events with a cut) from 2013-18, we see no missed cuts and three Top15s in his four tries. His strengths include consistency on approach and aroundthe green, partially explaining his success at Southwind.
Shane Lowry (DK $6,600) – Full disclosure: I’m a huge Shane Lowry fan who got burned pretty bad by his MC at the Memorial. But that windswept gauntlet is a different type of course from what awaits the world’s best players this week, and since we don’t have to worry about a missed cut, Lowry makes for a tempting low-cost GPP play.
More value golfers to consider: Bubba Watson (GPP), Danny Willett (Cash) Rafael Cabrera-Bello (GPP), Louis Oosthuizen, Ryan Palmer
Mackenzie Hughes (DK $6,400) – Everybody’s talking about the hot-putting Canadian this week, so there’s a chance we lose the ownership edge we might have had without all the hype. But what Hughes has done recently in undeniable (two Top 10 finishes in his last three events, including a T3 finish at the Travelers and a T6 at the Memorial).
Tom Lewis(DK $6,200)– A T12 finish at the Rocket Mortgage in Detroit and T32last week show that Lewis is probably underpriced considering his upside. Aconsistent ball-striker with a pedigree for stiffer competition (T12 at the 2019Open Championship), he’s finally showing off the form to match.
Nick Taylor (DK $6,100) – Taylor skipped the 3M after missing the cut at Jack’s Place, but he’s popping on the WinDaily models compared to his near-minimum price and is consistent enough tee-to-green to make sense as a GPP play.

Rory McIlroy $10,700 (Model Rank #1, Projected Ownership 17%)
Bryson DeChambeau $11,100 (M5, 17%)
Xander Schauffele $9,200 (M7, 14%) – Schauffele finished T14 last week at the Workday Charity and is fifth in the field in strokes gained total over the last six weeks. With a T14 last year at The Memorial, Schauffele isn’t only a safe bet to make the cut but could be in the final pairing come Sunday.
Jon Rahm $9,300 (M12, 17%) – The talent has always been there and last Sunday, Rahm shot -8 to finish T27. That finish has catapulted his ownership but I don’t mind. This week I’ll be very overweight on Rahm this week.
Hideki Matsuyama $9,400 (M13, 15%) – Two top 20 finishes in his last two events out and three top 15 finishes at The Memorial, Matsuyama is one of the favorites. He started out strong last week, but his putter failed on the weekend. The speed of the greens should help a little with the flat stick and Matsuyama could find himself with another top 15 finish.
****Tiger Woods $9,000 (M17, 22%) – Ownership is just scary on him. I know he’s Tiger, but if he falters on his official return since the break, it’s a huge leverage spot****
Patrick Reed $8,400 (M11, 11%) – It must be the name, that keeps pulling me back. Every other week, Reed burns me but when he gets hot, he can run through a field. Reed has four straight cuts made here at Jack’s place coming in. Reed in 2020 has averaged .74 strokes gained putting, in three of his last four events, he’s lost strokes on the green. If his putter reverts to average, this week could be very good for Reed.
Tony Finau $8,300 (M23, 14%) – He missed the cut last year, but prior he finished with three top 15 in four tries at The Memorial. Not exactly a lock as he’s missed a cut since the restart and hasn’t really payed off his price either. Don’t go overboard but Finau has the talent to compete with the best here.
Sungjae Im $8,200 (M28, 9%) – What has happened to Im? Sungjae was averaging .39 stroked gained on approaches this year before The PLAYERS (1 round). Since then he’s lost strokes in 4/5 tournaments on approach. Im is more of a play on talent, ownership and price.
Matthew Fitzpatrick $8,100 (M36, 6%) – I’m both surprised and delighted that Fitzpatrick’s ownership is projected so low. He finished T27 last week on the same course. Fitzpatrick has made the cut in four of his last five tournaments with two T15. He made his lone cut at The Memorial last year. I know around the green play comes in and Fitzpatrick isn’t the greatest, but the rest of his game is plenty sharp to overcome that.
Kevin Kisner $7,500 (M18, 3%) – Kisner is an interesting option. On one hand the approach game and to a lesser degree around the green game are important at The Memorial. While Kisner does have a solid all around game, those are his weak points in 2020. On the other, we have a possible sub 5% owned golfer who in his last tournament (Rocket Mortgage) came in third. On top of that has made the cut here four out of the last five years. Those cuts made include TWO top 10 finishes. Kisner isn’t playing as well as in previous years, but he has the goods to surprise people this week.
Joaquim Niemann $7,900 (M25, 16%) – Statistically speaking, Niemann is having his best year of his young career. A world class ball striker, few in the field can compete with his irons. The one problem with Niemann is it seems one part of his game fails him. Charles Schwab (ARG), Travelers (Putter) and Workday (ARG). When it does come together it’s fantastic, RBC (T5). With the inconstant all around game, his ownership is rather high which gives me some pause. At his price though, the upside is tremendous.
Doc Redman $7,600 (M32, 7%) – Speaking of ball strikers, Redman is another elite player with the approach aspect of his game. Despite losing strokes with the wedge and putter the last three weeks, Redman has finished T21, T11 & T21. As we all know putting is the highest varying aspect of one’s game. If his can get his putter hot Redman could find himself in the top 5 this week at The Memorial.
Brian Harman $7,100 (M21, 1%) – Oh Harman, we meet again. After the RBC I started playing Harman. As I’m sure you know he then proceeded to miss the cut the two following weeks. His game in theory should setup perfect for The Memorial. I’ve said that though for previous weeks and it didn’t matter. He’s coming in with zero traction from the industry, hence the projected ownership. Third time is a charm, right?
Kevin Na $7,200 (M24, 6%) – Na withdrew last tournament with a back injury, a tournament he was somewhat popular. Na has always lost strokes off the tee and with the extra long rough this week it could be an issue. With that said all other facets of his game match up wonderfully at The Memorial. Won’t need much to match the field and an injury risk is always in play, but I’ll take a shot on Mr Na this week.
Lucas Glover $7,100 (M40, 11%) – Another strong iron player, Glover has been getting some love and it makes sense. Since the restart Glover has averaged over a stroke per round in approach and has finished T23, T21, T20 & T21. He also has not missed the cut since 2015 at The Memorial. While his ownership/price ratio goes against my philosophy I’m going go heavy on Glover this week and double the field in ownership.
Brendan Steele $7,100 (M60, 3%) – Steele had a great tournament last week despite the T52 finish. He gained almost a stroke and a half over the field in approach. His problem was the putter, it got cold quick. Losing almost 2 strokes a round is problematic. Now granted Steele has never been a world class putter but his 2020 average is around zero. If the two stroke departure from his putter can regain his 2020 form I could imagine Steele landing inside the top 20.

Paul Casey (DK $10,500, FD $11,700) – We highlightedsome of the focus stats that help folks win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am,but making the cut and winning here requires a solid mental approach aided byan affable nature. Casey has the game to fit these courses and solid historyhere (second place in 2019, T8 in 2018) but is also a nice dude – which helpswhen you’re playing alongside so many amateurs. As always, the key to hissuccess will be his short game.
Jason Day (DK $10,300, FD $11,500) – Continuing in the nice guy category, Day has five straight Top 15s here with four of those finishes as Top 5s. He really wants to win here, and he’s got the attitude and game to make it happen. I have some concerns about his ailing back, and so should the majority of the DFS world, so we could see lower ownership than what you’d expect from a perennial contender like Day.
Matthew Fitzpatrick (DK $9,700, FD $11,000) – Fitzpatrick might see low ownership in GPPs with his price among the bigger names, and I’d probably stay away in cash games since he can have some stinkers – but the 54-hole cut makes him one of my top choices as he’s been known to get hot and put together some very low rounds. I love his attitude and his ability to put bad rounds behind him, which should keep him in the mix at the AT&T this week.
Graeme McDowell (DK $9,200, FD $10,400) – He won last week in Saudi Arabia, and while I’m not going overboard on Dustin Johnson shares, playing G-Mac after a long flight doesn’t scare me as much and it does with DJ. The Portrush, Northern Ireland native has some history at Pebble Beach and he’s one of golf’s best ambassadors. Length is not an issue on these tracks, so deploy him in GPPs in the hopes that he gets hot with the flat stick.
Also consider: DustinJohnson, Patrick Cantlay, Brandt Snedeker, VictorHovland
Daniel Berger (DK $8,900, FD $10,300) – Berger is coming off a Top 10 at the WMPO and he finished with a T10 in his only appearance here in 2015. He’s expensive but a really good bet for a Top 20 finish.
Russell Knox (DK $8,600, FD $10,000) – With no major holes in his game, Knox is a good fit for these courses and the format – though we’ll need at least one round where his putter gets hot for him to get in the Top 5.
Kevin Kisner (DK $8,500, FD $10,100) – Kisner’s history here is jumbled – with a couple missed cuts, a T28 last year and a Top 10 in 2017. But he’s an excellent ball striker, is quite strong on poa annua greens and registers inside the Top 20 on Par 4 efficiency 350-400. The MC at the Amex could keep his ownership low in GPPs.
Scott Piercy (DK $7,800, FD $9,600) – I’m always interested in Piercy for the West Coast swing, and he’s trending up (55-20-10) the past three years here. He finished T6 last week and is a solid bet to make the 54-hole cut – even if he fades a bit on Sunday as he tends to do.
Scott Stallings (DK $7,600, FD $9,200) – Stallings loves the event (14-7-3 from 2017-19) and his last missed cut was at the Houston Open. He’s not without risk, but he’s popping on all my models and he excels in SG: Approach and SG: ARG.
Kevin Streelman (DK ($7,400, FD $9,100) – Streelman is another high-risk golfer and he’s really been struggling lately. Fortunately for him, he’s playing an event that has seen him finish 17-14-6-7 over the past four years, notching Top 10s in each of the past two tries. He’ll be in my mix of GPP plays.
Also consider: Sung Kang, Tom Hoge, Adam Hadwin, Vaughn Taylor, Lanto Griffin, Mark Hubbard, Chez Reavie, Jim Furyk
Brian Gay (DK $6,900, FD $8,300) – He’s way too cheap for his course history, and he’s one of my favorite GPP plays on shorter courses. He also shows up in my SG models (SG and putting) and his faults (SG: Off the Tee) shouldn’t hurt him here.
Aaron Baddeley (DK $6,800, FD $8,000) – Baddeley showed up in my models for the focus stats and I doubt anybody will be on him this week. A worthy golfer to toss into GPPs in one of the final slots.
Michael Thompson (DK $6,700, FD $8,200) – I like that he finished T10 here last year and ranks highly in the Strokes Gained (overall) and SG: ARG categories. Worth a look in GPPs, but very risky.
Hank Lebioda (DK $6,500, FD $7,700) – Lebioda can make a bunch of birdies and is a decent ball-striker, but he’s essentially a feast-or-famine finisher that cracks the Top 25 or misses the cut. At this price, that kind of variance should be expected.
Si Woo Kim (DK $6,400, FD $7,500) – Kim finished T4 here last year alongside Jason Day and has been fighting back issues the past few weeks just like the Australian. If you’re looking for golfers under $6,500, you need to take some chances.
Seamus Power (DK $6,400, FD $7,000) – Speaking of taking chances, Power will see sub 2% ownership but did make the cut here in 2017, finishing 39th. He’s a true longshot to finish among the Top 25, so I’d only roll him out in multi-entry GPP at like 5-10 percent at most.

Rickie Fowler (DK $11,500, FD $12,000) – Rickie is thebiggest name in the field this week and he finished T5 in his last start at theSentry Tournament of Champions. A win here in his native SoCal could help kickoff a big year for him.
Tony Finau (DK $10,500, FD $11,300) – Finau is a long hitter who can makebirdies in bunches and remains one of the most talented players in the field.Lock him in your core plays this week.
Charles Howell III (DK $10,100, FD $10,500) – He hasn’t missed a cut in his last 11 appearances in this event, and he’s notched three top 20s since 2016. Plenty to like here as he’s a West Coast swing performer.
Scottie Scheffler (DK $9,500, FD $10,400) – Scottie pops on allour metrics and is a good fit for this course. He didn’t play last week so he’sfree of trauma heading into the desert.
Also consider: Sungjae Im, Paul Casey, Byeong Hun An
Francisco Molinari (DK $9,200, FD $11,000) – He’s more of a GPP play on FanDuel because of the price but makes for a great bargain and cash game play on DK, and he may fly under the radar.
Matthew Wolff (DK $9,000, FD $10,700) – Wolff might get popular this week. The 20-year-old phenom ranked second in SG: Off-the-Tee and ninth in SG: Putting at the Sentry en route to a T11 finish.
Abraham Ancer (DK $8,900, FD $10,200) – Ancer is one of my favorite cash or GPP plays and I’m going back to the well after he disappointed at the weather-disrupted Sony. He’s just too good not to spike some Top 10s in fields where only 25 of the world’s top 100 are teeing it up.
Brian Harman (DK $8,600, FD $9,900) – He’s my lefty of choice this week and he finished T11-T3-T20 here from2016-2018 before an untimely MC last year here during a rough patch.
Harris English (DK $7,700, FD $9,600) – English will also be very popular, as he’s snagged several Top 5 finishes this season. I’ll be watching ownership to determine fade equity.

Sebastian Munoz (DK $7,400, FD $9,300) – Goingright back to the well with Munoz after a bizarre week. He’s should fare wellhere with the Bermuda greens and the price is reasonable.
Bud Cauley (DK $7,300, FD $8,700) – Cauley is another golfer who fits the Bermuda profile but fell victim to rough conditions last week. I’m buying based on course fit and talent. He’s never going to be elite, but at this price, we’re looking for a Top 10.
Talor Gooch (DK $7,100, FD $8,500) – Gooch barely made the cut last week but he’s a 90-1 shot to win this week – better odds than defending champ, Adam Long. He’s got top 10 upside at a low price.
Henrik Norlander (DK $7,100, FD $9,000) – Norlander closed with a two-under 68 on Sunday at the Sony Open to finish -7 and tied for ninth – his second consecutive top 10. I like him in all formats at this price.
Jhonattan Vegas (DK $6,800, FD $8,800) – He can go low and excels at Par 5s – and he won here back in 2011 suing a different mix of courses. I’ll have some shares in GPPs, but he’s not safe for cash.

Phil Mickelson (DK $8,700, FD $10,100) – Everybody’s talking up “Tournament Host” Phil, but he just doesn’t play a lot of golf anymore and there’s a LOT of talented players out here. I may stick him in one or two large-field GPPs if I land on him in that price range, but I’d much rather have Harman or Ancer, especially in cash games.
Brendan Steele (DK $7,500, FD $9,400) – I really didn’t like what I saw on that final hole Sunday night. It reminded me of Justin Thomas at Kapalua, and we know how he fared last week. Steele isn’t as good as he played last week, so I’ll be fading him in my lineups despite his second-place finish in the Sony Open.

Justin Thomas (DK $12,000, FD $12,300) – After JT’s latestwin in a playoff late Sunday at Kapalua, he’s listed as theVegas favorite at 9-2. Itwas a weird finish but he should contend again this week.
Webb Simpson (DK $11,100, FD $11,500) – Webb is now oneof the most consistent golfers on Tour and he’s an excellent fit for this track,where he finished fourth in 2018. I’ll have shares alongside Thomas.
Matt Kuchar (DK $9,900, FD $11,100) – Kuchar won here last year and also at El Camaleon in the Mayakoba Golf Classic in 2018 – an event that features a correlative coastal course with a similar feel. He’s a solid cash gameplay.
Charles Howell III (DK $9,100, FD $10,700) – Howell has a good history here and as a solid ball striker excels in many of our focus stat categories. He’s finished in the Top 15 three of his last four times here and is 5/5 on cuts since 2015.
Also consider: Patrick Reed (All formats), Collin Morikawa & AbrahamAncer (GPP only)
Corey Conners (DK $7,800, FD $8,900) – He finished tied for third here last year after a T39 in his debut, and I’ll be hammering him into a big chunk of my GPPs. The upside is there and he’s a good bet to make the weekend. I love him in all formats this week.
Chez Reavie (DK $8,400, FD $10,000) – He’s had a nice run here, finishing T3, T18, T8 in his last three tries. A near-lock to make the cut and a solid bet for a Top 25. It should be a cash game staple and GPP plug-n-play.
J.T. Poston (DK $8,100, FD $9,900) – Poston had a solid week playing in tough competition, and he’s going to be popular given his recent form and the fit at this layout. He’s a fine play in all formats this week – just keep an eye on his ownership in tournaments.
Sebastian Munoz (DK $7,900, FD $9,700) – Don’t forget about Munoz. I liked him last week and he’s a sneaky play again here – even after his T10 finish last year at this venue
Emiliano Grillo (DK $7,600, FD $9,300) – I can’t give up on Grillo, who’s struggled with the flat stick but can be a little more aggressive here and is an elite ball-striker with loads of GPP upside.
Also consider: Brendan Todd, Kevin Kisner,Brian Stuard, Rory Sabbatini
Brian Gay (DK $7,200, FD $8,900) – Gayhad a breakthrough in 2018 and a solid 2019, and he looks to get the ballrolling with another Top 25 here – something he accomplished in 2017 and 2019at Waialae. His MC at the RSM could keep folks off, and he finished T14 at theMayakoba.
Patton Kizzire (DK $6,900, FD $8,500) – Kizzire’s recent form is trash, but Hawaii has treated him well the past few years. He’s an under-the-radar play who might just be the course horse we need to fit ion some studs.
Talor Gooch (DK $6,800, FD $8,200) – He’s GPP only as a value play with some upside, since he checks some of the key boxes, but not a guy who’s cash-viable.
Jimmy Walker (DK $6,800, FD $8,500) – It’s been a while since we’ve heard Walker discussed, but he’s a 2x winner here and this type, of course, is his bag, baby! He made the cut here last year after two misses in 2017 and 2018.
Jerry Kelly (DK $6,200, FD $7,100) – Old Man Kelly is super cheap and he’s a former winner with three top 15s here over the past five years. Dude loves this course.
More value golfers for GPPs: Kyle Stanley, Chris Kirk, DanielBerger, Keegan Bradley, Scott Piercy, Harry Higgs
Hideki Matsuyama (DK $10,500, FD $11,300) – He hasn’t played well at this venue, which is a change from last week’s brainless fade of Xander Schauffele (At least I take some chances with my fades). Matsuyama played well in October but he’s a little too pricey for me given his track record in Hawaii.
Joaquin Niemann (DK $9,400, FD $10,800) – I expect him to be popular but I’m not ready to go overboard just yet. Niemann is a first-timer here and I prefer some of the guys who are a little cheaper.

In this edition of PGA DFS picks, we’re picking apart the field at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and looking for big winners!
Jon Rahm (DK $11,400, FD $11,900) – Rahm is the tourney favorite and both a great course fit and strong golfer in all formats. He’s a cash game lock and my favorite to win this week.
Justin Thomas (DK $11,200, FD $11,700) – Thomas is a closerunner-up, and my shares of him will be close to Rahm. There are simply noflaws in his game, he hits it a mile and he’s riding high off the President’sCup win. Lock him in as a pivot to Rahm, unless you’re going studs and scrubs –an option we’ll explore in one of our sample builds.
Dustin Johnson (DK $10,100, FD $11,200) – You’re getting adiscount on DK because of his rough 2019, which included both injury andsubstandard play. DJ’s length will play here – he just needs to roll in someputts and get that old dominant feeling back.
Gary Woodland (DK $9,300, FD $10,400) – Woodland is a sneaky pick this week. He likes the course and he’s at 16-1 odds to win this event, so that’s something to consider. Woodland was playing well in the Hero World Challenge but closed with a one-over-par 73 in the final round to finish T7. He’s certainly got the game for this track.
Also consider: Rickie Fowler, Patrick Cantlay
Cameron Champ (DK $8,200, FD $9,700) – Champ is another bomber who’s a feast-or-famine PGA performer. This week he’s relatively safe to deploy, and his ownership shouldn’t be through the roof since he’s a little pricier than many of the more popular names below him. He finished 11th here last season.
Brendan Todd (DK $8,100, FD $9,300) – Todd had a breakthrough in 2019 with two wins and three Top 10s, though he’s always been known as a guy who can go really, really low. The Pittsburgh native will be a long way from home, but he finished eighth in 2014, he can move it off the tee and the guy can be an absolute demon on the greens. Todd makes for a decent GPP special this week.
Corey Connors (DK $7,800, FD $8,900) – The Canadianhas six top 25s in his last eight starts and had a solid2018-19 season with a win, four top 10s and seven Top 25s overall. His puttingand reasonable price make him one of my core plays in both cash and GPPs.
Matthew Wolff (DK $7,900, FD $9,100) – Wolff might get popular this week, but his raw talent makes him a strong consideration for GPPs. Don’t get distracted by the wonky swing – this young man is an elite ball-striker who’s both long off the tee and a capable putter.
Also consider: Paul Casey, MattKuchar, Joaquin Niemann
J.T. Poston (DK $7,400, FD $8,400) – Hopefully J.T. will be “Poston” some low scores, am I right? The North Carolina native hit his stride in 2019 with a win, three Top 10s and nine Top 25s – finishes that bode well considering his low price.
Sebastian Munoz (DK $7,100, FD $8,300) – I doubt that Munoz will attract much ownership, so he’ll be a staple in my GPPs. The Colombian’s game checks all the boxes and he’s affordably priced on both sites.
Sung Kang (DK $6,600, FD $7,600) – Kang is a crazy bomber who should enjoy this course. I have a feeling he’ll be popular because of the stars and scrubs strategy, so he could be a fade option if you don’t believe in his admittedly bizarre game. Again – he probably won’t win and there’s some fade equity, but I’ll be using him in the 1/5 lineups where I lock in two $10K+ studs on DK.
Lanto Griffin (DK $6,500, FD $7,000) – Another golfer bound to be popular this week as folks desperately search for value, Griffin closed out the year with a couple of poor showings after winning the Houston Open. I think he’s underpriced.
More value golfers for GPPs: Keith Mitchell, Max Homa
Xander Schauffele (DK $8,700, FD $10,000) – He won last year, and he’sgoing to be very popular, but Xander’s game has shown some cracks recently. I’mnot picking him this week.
Kevin Kisner (DK $7,700, FD $9,000) – Kisner has a 9th and a 17th here in two tries, but he’s not the stat profile we’re looking for on this course. He also tends to be a popular play because he’s decent against strong fields, so I’m fading him.
Graeme McDowell (DK $7,100, FD $8,900) – He’s a familiar name, but this isn’t the venue for him. I love the guy and his attitude, but it’s best to stay away on courses over 7,500 yards in length.

Webb Simpson (DK $11,600, FD $11,800) – Simpson finished third here last year and loves the venue. He’s the tourney favorite and my pick for winning the whole thing.
Kevin Kisner (DK $9,800, FD$11,000) – Kisner is the tournament’s all-timeearnings leader with a win here in 2015 among four top-10s in the five times he’splayed here. I’ll be loading up in all formats.
Charles Howell, III (DK $10,400, FD $11,400) – Howell is defending his title and had a top 10 in 2015. He’s worth spending up for and checks all the boxes at this venue.
Billy Horschel (DK $11,000, FD $11,600) – He played here once and finished second in a playoff. I know we faded him last week and he finished T8, and I won’t make that same mistake again.
Matt Kuchar (DK $11,400, FD $11,800) – Kucharfinished in the top 15 last week and has racked up five top-25s at RSM. He should contend at this Bermudavenue – where he’s a resident – and is a solid bet to make the cut despitemissing in 2016.
Scottie Scheffler (DK $9,200, FD $10,800) – Schefflerdoesn’t have any experience here, but that hasn’t mattered much here. Therookie is 6-for-6 with two top-10s and another pair of top-20s. He finished T18at Mayakoba last week.
Also consider: Harris English, Aaron Wise, Adam Hadwin, ZachJohnson
Austin Cook (DK $7,800, FD $9,600) – Cook won here in 2017 and finished T11 here last year with Dominic Bozzelli. He’s got a couple of Top 20s this season mixed in with some MCs. Worth a look in GPPs.
Denny McCarthy (DK $8,600, FD $10,000) – He checks a very important box in our focus stats – Birdie-or-Better % – and his talents might not get noticed in this large field. A solid off-the-radar play.
Brian Gay (DK $8,800, FD $10,000) – He has a good feel for the course and its small greens, and he’s a fairway maven with solid course history and good form (6-for-6 this season with two Top 10s among four Top 25s).
Brian Harman (DK $7,900, FD $9,900)– The “other” Brian isone of the local residents dubbed the “Sea Island Mafia,” though none of themhas actually won the thing. Could this be the year? Harman finished T4 twoyears ago and has three top-20s in his first three events this season.
Russell Henley (DK $8,500, FD $9,800) –He’s technically not part of the Sea Island Mafia-like Kuchar, Harman, and ZJ, but he’s one of the UGA alums to notch a top 10 here. In fact – he’s got three top 10s here. His MC in 2018 could keep some folks off him.
ChrisKirk (DK $7,600, FD $9,400) –I’mrooting for Kirk, who played well in his return last week and is the courserecord holder at Plantation with a T4, T4 and a win in three of his last sixhere. He’s perfect at this price point in GPPs, though he could get chalky.
Harry Higgs (DK $7,900, FD $9,900) – Citedfatigue for his mini-slump before the surge in Bermuda. That little bit of restseems to have helped him as he’s now finished runner-up and T33 in his last twostarts. He’s back on track and was one of the hottest golfers on the Korn FerryTour, coming down the stretch last season. Someone that should be much higheron the draft board.
Also consider: Dylan Fritelli, Russell Knox, VaughnTaylor, Rory Sabbatini, Lanto Griffin
Brian Stuard (DK $7,400, FD $9,600) – Another Brian! Stuard is sporting monster form right now as he’s made six consecutive cuts on the PGA Tour – something we’ll need this week in such a big field. He’s also racked up four top 30 finishes in that span including a T4 at the Shriners, and he finished 22nd at the 2017 RSM Classic.
Kevin Streelman, (DK$7,400, FD $9,500) – He’s got a checkered history at Sea Island,with just one Top 20 and a couple of missed cuts. Nobody will be on him thisweek and his accuracy should be considered a great strength at this relatively shortcourse. A boom-or-bust GPP play.
Kyle Stanley (DK $7,200, FD $8,700)– We haven’t heard much from Stanley lately, but he’s 2-for-2here and we need to find some value. Stanley gives us that along with Top 25upside.
Peter Uihlein (DK $7,100, $9,200) – Not much form to speak of, but he finished T7 with Kisner and ZJ last year. He’s a longshot to make the Top 10 in consecutive tries here, but don’t count him out.
David Hearn (DK $7,000, FD $9,000) – Hearn’s record at Sea Island is impeccable, and he’s made five of six cuts this season dating back to the Greenbrier, including a T8 at Bermuda. But will he fly under the radar?
Doc Redman (DK $6,600, FD $7,500) – We’ll throw out his MC last week because Mayakoba does not smile on first-timers and give him some edge because of his obvious talent and ball-striking.
More value golfers for GPPs: Adam Schenk, Boo Weekley, PatrickRodgers, Henrik Norlander, Dominic Bozzelli, Sepp Straka, Robert Streb, BrendanSteele, David Lingmerth
Si Woo Kim (DK $8,700, FD $10,000) – He finished T18 here in 2015 but hasn’t had much success at Sea Island, and the price drop to $7,300 could make him somewhat popular despite an MC last week. No Top 25s yet this season, and I’m not seeing the upside.
Kevin Chappell (DK $7,100, FD $8,900) – Chappell has played well here in the past, but he still doesn’t look right after returning from his back injury and isn’t quite ready to contend. A lot of folks will be drawn to the value based on his course history, but we can safely avoid him this week.
Alex Noren (DK $9,300, FD $10,900) – “This wayward traveler maycome from fine Stockholm stock, but his recently packed travel itinerary mayhave his sea legs a little tired after such a busy schedule. The Sea Island Mafiais a welcoming gang of scalawags, but this Swedish fish may not be sweet enoughto notch a Top 10 this week.” – Justin “Rusty” Seastrum
It’s great having my boy “Trusty Rusty” fillingin for Spades – who’s taking the week off after recommending a fade of Billy Horscheland his T8 at the Mayakoba. I’m on board with Rusty’s take on Noren, especiallybecause he hasn’t been very good atthe events that he’s been playing all over the globe – and he’s not worth theprice.

Quick reviewof last week: We had Tiger, Matsuyama and Rory in our core builds, and theyfinished 1-3. We also pegged high-priced Matthew Fitzpatrick as a key fade, andhe finished second to last among the 76 golfers who finished the tournament. Prettysolid.
Okay. Now onto this week.
PGA DFS Course Notes:
Rory McIlroy (DK $11,700, FD$12,400) –We talked about how Rory likestree-line layouts, and he finished T3 at the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP, where he ledthe field in par-5 scoring – obne of our top stats this week. In four starts atSheshan International, he has two top-10s and a T11. Giddyup.
Hideki Matsuyama (DK $11,100, FD $11,400) – Matsuyama is playing really well and his form (T16, a T3 and a solo second to open the season) isn’t the only thing he’s got going. He tore the course to shreds at Sheshan International in 2016 en route to a seven-shot victory.
Xander Schauffele (DK $10,800, FD $11,300) – Xander likes the competition of a loaded field, and there’s a lot of great golfers here to get him pumped up. He’s the defending champion and he finished T10 at Narashino on Sunday. The X-Man is ready.
Justin Rose (DK $10,500, FD $11,200) – I like Rose, despitehis putting woes. I like Justin, so much that I’m bustin! Seriously, though – theEnglishman is a great ball striker and he won here in 2017, finishing third inhis title defense.
Also consider: Paul Casey,Patrick Reed, Tony Finau
Adam Scott (DK $9,300, FD $10,600) – Adam has top-20s in three of the last five appearances here and in five of his last seven starts worldwide. That’s a great start, he’s got a good price, and he’s shown improvement with his occasionally shaky putting.
Billy Horschel (DK $8,900, FD$10,200) –When he’srolling, he’s really rolling. He finished T6 at ZOZO and that gave him his 10thtop-25 in 14 starts worldwide. Finished T11 here last year and has a greatattitude, especially in no-cut events.
Byeong Hun An (DK $9,100, FD$10,000) –Ben hasplayed well recently, which helped carry him through a difficult course design atthe ZOZO. He was T6 at NINE BRIDGES, he finished T8 at Narashino and while Shesanis a challenge, he’s a solid contrarian play who will be low-owned.
Corey Connors (DK $8,200, FD$9,300) – Connorsis one of the more underrated golfers on tout and has finished T13-T12-T6 inadvance of his debut at Shesan. PGA tour notes that he excelled on TPC SanAntonio’s tough par 5s – which is a featured stat here.
Louis Oosthuizen (DK $7,600, FD$8,900) –Oostyfinished T46th last week, but I’ll chalk that up to bad weather. He’s still greatoff the tee, a solid ball striker and a fiery competitor who can get hot with theputter.
Matt Wallace (DK $ FD $9,600) – The cheeky, sometimes-harsh Brit is debuting as an official member of the PGA Tour and has three top-10s and a T15 in his last five starts on the Euro Tour. We saw a little of what he can do in crowded fields last season during the majors, and he’s got plenty of upside.
Charles Howell, III (DK $7,900, FD $9,000) – A long and accuratehitter and bentgrass specialist who seems like an excellent course fit, Howellis cheap and scores well on Par 4s – so I’m giving him the benefit of the doubton this unfamiliar layout.
Also consider: Sungjae Im, Tyrell Hatton, Bernd Wiesberger, Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry
Erik Van Rooyen (DK $7,500, FD $8,700) – One of my favorite under-the-radarGPP plays, Van Rooyen got cut last week but otherwise has been in good form. Hefinished T14-T12-Win-T5-T20-T14-MC-T10-MC over his last nine starts dating backto the Euro Tour’s Scottish Open, and he’s a career best 58th in the OfficialWorld Golf Ranking.
Kevin Kisner (DK $7,400, FD$8,600) –Kisner is a capable player without any major flaws who’s always underpriced,and I like his chances of rebounding after a tough T66 at the ZOZO. Jet lag isa thing.
Chez Reavie (DK $7,400, FD$8,600) –I’ll be using him exclusively in GPPs after last week’s debacle. I can guessthat poor showing was in part because of the weather, because he’s too good to finishthat far down. He’ll be off most people’s lists, which puts him on mine.
Keegan Bradley (DK $7,000, FD$8,600) – A long and straight driver of the golf ball, theenigmatic but eminently likeable Bradley has some good performances here: T11(2013) and sixth (2018) at Sheshan International and finished T13 at Narashino,where he was T6 in GIR. GPP-only play.
More value golfers for GPPs: Lucas Glover, Joost Luiten, MikeLorenzo-Vera, Romain Langasque, J.T. Poston
Ian Poulter (DK $7,700, FD $9,000) – He’s not great withexpectations, and he’ll be really popular because of his record in China. Golfis a fickle beast, and Poulter won’t make too many of my builds.
Jordan Spieth (DK $9,400, FD $10,400) – I’m not sure Spieth hasproven anything on the golf course recently, and he finished T66 at the ZOZO. Theprice is still too high, and I’m not convinced he’s accurate enough off the teeto excel here.
Henrik Stenson (DK $9,800, FD $10,800) – “He’s only done well in Euro tournaments recently and the first week without his three-wood, he misses the cut. He’s overpriced – should be in the $8K range on DK.” – Mark “Spades” Spada
Right there withyou, Spades. The magic three wood is gone, and so is the magic golf game.Stenson isn’t a great putter, and he missed the cut at the Houston Open despitebeing the odds-on favorite. He’s a fade for me, bro.
