He has actually fared well against struggling teams like the Red Sox and Mariners. Today is a whole different story though. Jackson has the displeasure of taking on the most talented team in MLB, the Houston Astros. The Astros are on fire right now, slashing to a .378 wOBA, .272 ISO, and 143 WRC+ against righties. Jackson maintains his 8.00+ ERA, is allowing a massive 3.40 HR/9, and has a BABIP of .331. The cards are obviously stacked against him tonight and although he has had some decent performances, I highly doubt he will have one against this Astros squad. Eat the chalk, play the Astros.Preferred Plays: Yordan Alvarez ($4400 FD|$5800 DK), Michael Brantley ($4400 FD|$5000 DK), Carlos Correa ($4000 FD|$5000 DK), and Alex Bregman ($4300 FD|$5400 DK). Also consider Yuli Gurriel ($3700 FD|$5100 DK and Jose Altuve ($4300 FD|$5200 DK).Fantasy MLB Stack: Los Angeles Angelsvs. LHP Kolby Allard (TEX): 5.80 Runs**Moderate RiskThe Angels come in with the second highest run total today and a get a major boost at Globe Life Park. We are looking at 101 degrees first pitch. The Angel’s have struggled mightily this month, slashing to a .211 wOBA, .130 ISO, and 28 WRC+. These are awful hitting numbers are I have hard time getting here for a full stack even with a ball park boost and LHP on the mound. I do like a few pieces here. Allard has looked decent in his first two starts away from Arlington, striking out 5 or more and allowing 3 runs or less in 5 innings pitched. Texas will presumably roll out five righties against Peters, I do like the Rangers as well.Preferred Stack: Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5600 DK), Albert Pujols ($2900 FD|$3800 DK), Justin Upton ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), and David Fletcher ($3000 FD|$3900 DK). Fantasy MLB Stack: Baltimore Orioles**vs. RHP Jorge Lopez (KCR): 5.50 Runs**High RiskThe Twins actually have the slight edge over the Orioles for implied run total but I like the O’s today for less ownership. The Orioles are hitting the best they have all season in the last two weeks, slashing to a .332 wOBA, .235 ISO, and .321 WRC+. Their offensive struggles outweigh the good days but when they are making good contact the runs seem to pour in. Jorge Lopez owns a 6.51 ERA, 5.44 FIP, and 4.64 SIERA. He is allowing 1.89 HR/9 and .321 BABIP. Not sure if I’ll get to a full stack here but I do like a few pieces.Preferred Plays: Trey Mancini ($4100 FD|$4900 DK), Jonathon Villar ($3500 FD|$4500 DK), Anthony Santander ($3100 FD|$4100 DK), and Renato Nunez ($3000 FD|$4000 DK). Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!Check me out on Twitter @BCWilliams718/11 DFS Pitching Cash Game Pitchers Jacob deGrom, NYM vs. WSHDK ($11,600) FD ($11,700) deGrom has fattened the wallets of many over his last 15 starts, scoring at least 40 FanDuel points 11 times, with his 49 point effort in his previous start against the Marlins leaving him a point shy of four straight starts with at least 50 points. Obviously, starting deGrom as your SP1 will impact the coin you’ll spend on offense, but when you’re getting 11.45 K/9 with just 2.2 BB/9 while keeping the ball in the yard, you’ll spend it and do so smiling. deGrom sets the pace by hitting first pitch strikes at 66.5% and is still putting up good numbers despite not maintaining the off-the-charts pace he had in 2018.Most pitchers will take a 4.9 WAR a this point of the season, but that — along with a RAR of 43.3 — is what deGrom carries into this contest. He’s more dominant at home in Citi Field, where deGrom has struck out 84 batters over 68 innings at home with a 3.18 ERA. He’s more unforgiving to the Nationals, holding them to an 0.75 ERA while putting together an 18:4 K/BB rate and a composite .167 allowed against them.Justin Verlander, HOU at BALDK ($12,400) FD ($12,500) Most will consider deGrom the better play, but you can’t fault anyone plugging Verlander as their SP1. JV has four straight starts of at least 58 FanDuel points and faces a Baltimore lineup bereft of quality in its lineup, a huge reason they are 24th in OPS and 25th in wRAA. He’s pushing for a second straight season of striking out at least 35% of opponents, and he’s still a legit Cy Young award candidate despite a rise in hard contact rate (40.8%) and an elevated HR/9 rate (1.68).deGrom gets the edge because of his track record against the Nationals, but Verlander has won seven of his last eight starts and is on a four-start stretch of at least 10 strikeouts. I think you’ll get another 10-K from Verlander and another win that would give him a sixth straight win.8/11 DFS GPP PlaysMike Minor, TEX at MILDK ($9,600) FD ($9,200) Minor hit some major turbulence in mid-July but has won his last two starts, including seven shutout innings against the Indians on Monday. One could say that Minor is having a career year, as his 31.3 RAR has already eclipsed the 29.6 RAR he recorded as a member of the Braves in 2012. He’s been inconsistent when it comes to FanDuel reduction, as his 28.95 FD points were his best output since scoring 34.55 FD against the Tigers on June 26.The Brewers are hitting a combined .252/.312/.403 this month and are paying dearly for their all or nothing at all mindset, striking out 85 times in eight games. There is good potential for Minor to be able to exploit Milwaukee’s loss of Christian Yelich, who remains sidelined with back woes.Lucas Giolito, CWS vs. OAKDK ($10,600) FD ($9.800)Giolito has at least 43 FanDuel points in three of his last four starts and has shaken off the 9 points he produced at FD against the Cubs on July 6. He’s approaching 11 strikeouts per nine innings (10.86 K/9 to date). Giolito has continued to keep opposing batters from making max impact against him (30.9% hard contact rate) and has avoided the long ball despite a 41.1% fly ball rate.This shapes to a good matchup for Giolito, as the Athletics have seen their bats go .233/.340/.454 over the past week. Oakland’s longball or bust mentality will work agains them considering Giolito allows opposing bats to hit just .203 against him at home this season while he’s delivered 70 strikeouts over 59.1 innings. What keeps Giolito from being a cash pitcher is the uncertainty that the A’s bats get dialed in early and catch Giolito off-balance.8/11 DFS Punt PlaysJakob Junis, KC at DETDK ($7,900) FD ($8,600) Junis comes off a 37 FanDuel point outing against the Red Sox and already has starts of 37 and 34 points against the Tigers this season. There is sneaky good strikeout potential in Junis, who averages 8.46 K/9 to go along with a slightly above league average 3.12 BB/9. The Tigers’ lineup won’t be able to fully exploit Junis’ weakness (his 1.56 HR/9 rate), this despite the fact the Royals hurler sports a 42.4% hard contact rate. There’s a chance the Tigers might get one off him, but I think Junis is capable of setting the pace early with strikeouts before getting the Detroit bats to induce ground balls as a steady clip. Make sure you are watching the weather as well.Daily Fantasy Stack: Cincinnati Redsvs. RHP Alex McRae (PIT): 6.15 Runs**Low RiskThe Reds are facing Jordan Lyles, who has seen better days over his last four starts. He has given up five or more runs in his last three of four games. This isn’t Coors Field, but it is close enough. Lyles carries a 5.36 ERA 4.81 FIP, and 4.43 SIERA on the year. He continues to struggle against left handed batting, allowing them to slash to a .416 wOBA, .630 SLG, and .403 OBP while allowing 28 earned runs over 31 innings pitched. I’m not huge on BvP statistics but the Reds have seen a lot of success against Lyles. They have six players with .900 OPS or better against him. The Reds are slashing to a .355, .194 ISO, and 117 WRC+ against righties the last two weeks. We’ve all come to find out Lyles was traded to the Reds so now we get Alex McRae on the mound. Same struggle to lefties, even better matchup for the Reds. I’ve upgraded this to a low risk play. You cannot beat the value here, but we do have some weather concerns.Preferred Stack: Yasiel Puig ($3100 FD|$4400 DK), Jesse Winker ($2800 FD|$4100 DK), Eugenio Suarez ($3900 FD|$5100 DK), and Joey Votto ($3300 FD|$4000 DK). Value: Scooter Gennett ($2600 FD|$3400 DK) has been making good contact leading up to tonight’s game and he’s way too cheap on both sites. Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Angelsvs. RHP Jordan Zimmermann (DET): 6.60 Runs**Low RiskJordan Zimmermann is on the mound tonight for the Tigers and he is B-A-D. He owns a 7.57 ERA, 4.88 FIP, and 5.35 SIERA. Although he is worse vs. left handed batting, he is no angel to righties. They are slashing to a .358 wOBA, .530 SLG, and .345 OBP while he has allowed 27 earned runs over 31 innings pitched to them. Zimmermann basically allows one earned run per inning pitched so roll out the Angels with confidence this evening. They are slashing to a .315 wOBA, .205 ISO, and 99 WRC+ over the last month. Preferred Stack: Shohei Ohtani ($4200 FD|$5200 DK), Justin Upton ($3600 FD|$4000 DK), Mike Trout ($4900 FD|$5700 DK), and Albert Pujols ($3100 FD|$4400 DK).Daily Fantasy Stack: Los Angeles Dodgersvs. RHP Jon Gray (LAD): 6.90 Runs**Moderate RiskNo one is reinventing the wheel by playing either one of these teams at Coors tonight. This game will be highly owned as the Coors matchups typically are. The salaries are too high so we can’t stack both unless you’re okay with pitching Pannone and we’re not going to go there. Jon Gray has closed the gap in his splits and has actually fared decent at home. He is allowing batters to slash to a .333 wOBA, .463 SLG, and .336 OBP. He has allowed 24 earned runs and seven home runs over 55 innings pitched. Most will target the high power lefties like Max Muncy or Cody Bellinger and those plays are great, but you can easily differentiate from the field and play guys like A.J. Pollock and Justin Turner. The Dodgers are slashing to a slate high .381 wOBA, .281 ISO, and 140 WRC+ right now.Preferred Plays: Justin Turner ($4300 FD|$5200 DK), Max Muncy ($5600 FD|$4500 DK), Cody Bellinger ($4900 FD|$5800 DK), and Alex Verdugo ($3100 FD|$4500 DK). Toronto Blue Jaysvs. RHP Dylan Bundy (BAL): 5.90 RunsThe Toronto side of this game will undoubtedly be on the chalkier side given how well the Jays are hitting and also how bad Dylan Bundy can be more often than not. Bundy carries 4.91 ERA, 5.29 FIP, and 4.38 SIERA. Bundy has nearly identical splits and neither are great. He carries an average of .336 wOBA, .470 SLG, and .323 OBP. Bundy is also allowing 2.03 HR/9 and 42% FB rate. Toronto is slashing to a tune of .412 wOBA, .289 ISO, 162 WRC+, and .603 SLG to right handed pitching over the last two weeks.Preferred Stack: Cavan Biggio $3700 FD|$4400 DK, Eric Sogard $3300 FD|$4600 DK, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. $3800 FD|$5800 DK, Freddie Galvis $2900 FD|$4000 DK, and Justin Smoak $2800 FD|$3700 DK.Atlanta Bravesvs. RHP Jordan Yamamoto (MIA): 5.95 RunsJordan Yamamoto has a fairly small sample size coming into tonight’s matchup against the Braves. He lucked out his first two starts, taking on a Cardinals team who had been pretty inefficient against right handed pitching leading up to those two games where he found success. Yamamoto carries 4.57 ERA, 5.60 FIP, and 4.96 SIERA into tonight’s matchup. He has tremendous splits carrying .206 wOBA, .145 SLG, and .258 OBP through 23 innings pitched. I expect regression to the mean and the Braves are hitting very well recently. The Braves are slashing .330 wOBA, .220 ISO, and .466 SLG over the last two weeks.Preferred Stack: Freddie Freeman $4400 FD|$5100 DK, Ronald Acuna Jr. $4200 FD|$5200 DK, Brian McCann $2700 FD|$3400 DK, Josh Donaldson $3100 FD|$3900 DK, and Nick Markaikas $3000 FD|$3900 DK.Washington Nationalsvs. RHP Brad Keller (KCR): 6.10 RunsTonight we have Brad Keller in D.C. taking on the Nationals on a very hot and humid evening. Keller carries 4.46 ERA, 4.63 FIP, and 5.39 SIERA into tonight’s game. He is pretty inconsistent but overall he looks to be decent on paper. He is only allowing 0.69 HR/9 and GB rate of 50% while only allowing 36% hard contact. His splits are identical, so we can feel good about going after guys like Anthony Rendon and Trea Turner. The Nationals are slashing to a tune of .300 wOBA, .142 ISO, and .378 SLG over the last two weeks. MLB DFS: July 4th Offensive Fireworks Hitting Stacks Wes Anderson 5 years ago written by Wes Anderson Thursday’s MLB action may not include a Coors Game, but there are plenty of offenses to stack in DFS. We have four stacks to target as you assemble your Daily Fantasy Sports entries. Sign up NOW forWIN DAILY Premium Gold right here!Projections, weather reports, wagering info, 24/7 expert chats and more!Minnesota TwinsI am pretty sure the Oakland Athletics pushed Tanner Anderson’s start back a day just so he could help put on a fireworks show. Anderson has a 7.13 ERA this season, while allowing a robust 48.3% hard contact rate. The high amount of hard contact has led to home runs, as he is allowing 2.04 HR/9. With the Twins leading all of baseball in home runs hit, this seems like an appropriate spot to stack some Twinkies in DFS. Anderson has been awful against lefties. He has allowed a .473 wOBA and 4.91 HR/9. So of course, we want to load up on the left-handed Twins. So our Minnesota stacks will need to start with Max Kepler (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,600). Kepler has an ISO north of .330 versus right-handed pitching. Other Twins bats worth considering are: Jason Castro (FanDuel: $2,600 DraftKings: $3,800) and Jorge Polanco (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,500). These two bats have ISOs above .240 versus righties in 2019. Detroit TigersThe Tigers’ offense is not normally in a position to stack. In fact, it has been good to our bank accounts to use starting pitchers against them. But this is just how bad the White Sox’s Lopez is. Lopez has a .5.12 SIERA and a low 10% swinging strike rate. He is not missing many bats and this is a perfect spot for us to pick on while we build DFS lineups. Look to use the Tigers’ offense as a cheap stack to help load up on bats from Minnesota or one of these other teams. But target the likes of Brandon Dixon (FanDuel: $2,800 DraftKings: $4,300) and Gordon Beckham (FanDuel: $2,300 DraftKings: $3,300). All of these Tigers’ bats have ISOs over .200 against right-handed pitching this season. Atlanta BravesThe Phillies’ Zach Eflin is not a terrible pitcher but he is not elite with his SIERA being 1.3 higher than his ERA. That means some regression is coming and it likely is coming today. Not only does Eflin struggle on the road with a 4.64 xFIP, but the Braves’ lineup is stacked with guys that crush righties. The Atlanta Braves have seven guys with regular at bats that are posting .200-plus ISOs against right-handed pitchers. Of course, start your Atlanta DFS stack with Freddie Freeman (FanDuel: $4,400 DraftKings: $5,000). But you can also mix and match the likes of: Austin Riley (FanDuel: $3,400 DraftKings: $4,500), Josh Donaldson (FanDuel: $3,000 DraftKings: $4,000), Tyler Flowers (FanDuel: $2,500 DraftKings: $3,600), Dansby Swanson (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,500), Brian McCann (FanDuel: $2,600 DraftKings: $3,400) and Ronald Acuna Jr (FanDuel: $4,300 DraftKings: $5,400). All four of these Braves batters have accumulated at least a .200 ISO versus right-handed pitching. Kansas City RoyalsThe Royalsand Indians game should have plenty of fireworks from both offenses and may bea great spot to game stack for DFS purposes. But if you have to chose just oneside, the Royals’ offense is the way to lean. The Indians’ Zach Plesac has a5.01 SIERA and a 5.13 xFIP in 2019. He also is allowing flyballs at a rate of42.4% which has led to 1.91 HR/9. Use HunterDozier (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,700), Jorge Soler (FanDuel: $3,100DraftKings: $4,000) and Adalberto Mondesi (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,800).These three batters have ISOs greater than .200 against right-handed pitching. But also, Dozier (.250 ISO) and Soler (.409 ISO) have crushed fastballs this season, which Plesac has thrown 55% of the time. THANK YOU FOR READING. Today is no different especially with the Blue Jays’ Aaron Sanchez on the bump. The Blue Jays’ right-hander has a 4.99 SIERA and a 5.33 SIERA in 2019. Now he will pitch in Colorado ‘s thin air. Things surely are set up for the Rockies’ offense to succeed at home on Sunday.Toronto Blue Jays:Antonio Senzatela could be in for a long one here. The Rockies’ starter has a 5.81 ERA and the peripherals don’t suggest there will be improvements any time soon. Senzatela owns a 4.95 xFIP and a 5.35 SIERA this season. And he is not missing many bats these days as he has a low 15.98% whiff rate. Senzatela should be in trouble early and often here so stack up all the Blue Jays that you can.Texas Rangers:The Royals’ Brad Keller is a guy we want to attack today. He has the highest SIERA of the starters for MLB’s Sunday action. But equally important is the fact that the Rangers have crushed right-handed pitching all season. The Rangers have a .213 ISO against righties.Kansas City Royals:The Rangers’ Adrian Sampson has a 46.9% hard contact rate this season, but he is also allowing a 40.2% flyball rate. This should play into the hands of the Royals’ batters, especially the right-handed ones. Sampson is allowing .393 wOBA, 45.4% hard contact rate and a 1.88 HR/9 to right-handed bats this season.Value StackLA Dodgers: Besides Cody Bellinger, all other Dodgers’ batters are grossly underpriced, particularly on FanDuel. With the Phillies starting Nick Pivetta, the Dodgers’ stack not only allows you to pay up for some other of the big bats but they are also in a position to do some damage themselves. Los Angeles has a .216 ISO versus right-handed pitching in 2019. MLB DFS Hitting Stacks for 5/29: Bright Reds Marshall Rosen 5 years ago written by Marshall Rosen Here are thetop teams to stack for MLB’s May 29th action:EARLY SLATECincinnati RedsThe Pirates’ Steven Brault is a guy we want to attack when he takes the bump for Pittsburgh. The left-handed pitcher has a robust 7.11 ERA. And his other numbers for this season aren’t any better. Brault has a 5.46 SIERA and a 5.85 xFIP. The Pittsburgh starter also is getting hit hard with a 44.9% hard contact rate, making the Reds look like a juicy stacking option for Thursday.The building blocks for this stack will be Eugenio Suarez (FanDuel: $3,900 DraftKings: $4,900) and Nick Senzel (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,900). Both of these right-handed bats have at least a .300 ISO against lefties in 2019. And while he doesn’t have great numbers against southpaws this season, how do you not chase yesterday’s three home run performance by Derek Dietrich (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,900)?Other Reds to look at it include: Kyle Farmer (FanDuel: $2,100 DraftKings: $3,800) and Yasiel Puig (FanDuel: $3,200 DraftKings: $4,200). Both Cincinnati bats have over .200 ISOs against lefties in 2019.Seattle MarinersThe Rangers’ Drew Smyly is struggling this season with a 6.15 ERA and is allowing 2.14 HR/9. In fact, he has allowed a 50% hard contact rate. The hard contact has resulted in him having a 6.07 SIERA and a 6.11 xFIP. The Angels’ offense should be able to hit some balls awfully hard against the young Oakland right-hander here and make for a great value play to combine with Cincinnati or Seattle. MAIN SLATEArizona DiamondbacksWinning DFS lineups for today’s slate will likely be loaded with Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies will be running Jeff Hoffman out to the bump. The right-handed starter has not fared well at Coors Field in his career. Hoffman has allowed a .303/.376/.541 slash line in 86.1 innings pitched in Colorado. Hoffman also has a 5.20 xFIP and 5.7% K-BB% in those contests. Look for the Diamondbacks to take advantage of this matchup in a big way tonight.The Diamondbacks’ build must start with Eduardo Escobar (FanDuel: $4,600 DraftKings: $5,700). The third baseman is red hot. He has scored double-digit fantasy points per game for a week now. His hot streak should continue on Wednesday. Escobar has crushed against righties this season. He owns a .250 ISO and a .351 wOBA against them. You can build around Escobar with a combination of Adam Jones (FanDuel: $4,000 DraftKings: $5,300) and Ketel Marte (FanDuel: $4,400 DraftKings: $5,500) as well. Each of these Diamondbacks’ hitters have .200-plus ISOs against right-handed pitching in 2019. Colorado RockiesThe Colorado Rockies have had Robbie Ray’s number throughout his career. In 106 at-bats against the current Colorado roster, the Arizona starter has allowed a .302/.395/.586 slash line with a .982 OPS. Of the 32 hits Ray has allowed to the current Rockies’ hitters, 16 of them have been for extra bases. And seven of those have left the yard. The success against Ray should continue tonight as the Rockies’ offense has a.209 ISO versus lefties in 2019. When building your Rockies’ stack, of course you will want to start the construction with Nolan Arenado (FanDuel: $4,900 DraftKings: $5,600). The infielder has crushed lefties this season. He has a .466 ISO and a .516 wOBA versus them. Also, he has killed Ray in the past. Arenado has a 1.289 career OPS against the Diamondbacks’ pitcher.
