Welcome back everyone, hope you’ve had a lot of NHL success as of late, we’re back with another great set of games in tonight’s Sunday slate! For tonight’s 4/17 NHL slate, we have a medium-sized five-gamer and the slate begins at 5:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

4/17 NHL Stack Report

1. Minnesota Wild 1 (Zuccarello-Hartman-Kaprizov)

— We’re starting off today’s article with a really interesting matchup as the Minnesota Wild are welcoming a very down-trodden Sharks team who have dropped their last nine games. To put that in perspective, Minnesota has only lost nine games at home this season (if you include OT), there is a steep contrast between these two teams based on their recent performances and the Wild’s offence which sits 5th in the league (3.64 goals per game) has recently been led by top liners Kirill Kaprizov and Ryan Hartman as both have six points over their last five games. On top of their recent success, the Sharks have been horrible at keeping the puck out of their own net as they have given up an average of 3.16 goals against per game this season, which has been consistent if not worsened throughout San Jose’s recent poor run of form. All three members of the Wild’s top line see power-play minutes with Kaprizov and Zuccarello on the top line and Hartman on the second unit. Also, the Wild unsurprisingly have the largest implied total of the slate at 3.8 and are coming into the slate at -260 favourites at the time of writing. I would definitely recommend prioritizing the Wild on tonight’s slate.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Jared Spurgeon (Jacob Middleton works as a salary saver)

2. St. Louis Blues 1 (Buchnevich-Thomas-Tarasenko)

On paper, these two teams seem very evenly matched, they’re both in the same division and they are both currently in a playoff spot (albeit the Blues are in a higher one). There is a big difference-maker when I look at this game and it’s the goaltending. Although Binnington has had a bit of a dip from his form in prior seasons, he has had nowhere near the level of regression that David Rittich had since leaving the Flames and as the Predators played with their starter Juuse Saros last night in Chicago, all signs point to Rittich getting the nod tonight. The Predators backup has not seen a ton of action this season but when he has, he has not been stellar with a 3.21 GAA and a .891 SV% along with a 5-3-2 record. This will be one of the bigger weaknesses for the Preds as they head into the playoffs, they will need more reliable backup goaltending if they have any hope of playoff longevity.

On the other side of the coin, the Blues have been superb as of late winning their last eight games, where they’ve scored at least four goals in each of those eight games. Some of those wins came against strong competition such as the aforementioned Wild and the Boston Bruins. The Blues have had a lot of offensive pieces working for them during their recent run of form but none more so than the top line with Buch, Thomas and Tarasenko, each player is averaging at least two points per game over their last five games and all are relatively reasonably priced on both FanDuel and DraftKings. I feel that St. Louis may be looked over a bit since the odds are so close but the bookies are giving them an implied total of 3.1 goals on tonight’s slate and I wouldn’t be surprised if it improved in the Blues’ favour after the time of writing. I think the Blues are an excellent piece that can accompany the Wild’s top liners in your builds tonight!

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Justin Faulk

Honorable Mention(s): TOR1 (Marner-Matthews-Bunting)

4/17 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Marc-Andre Fleury
  2. Jack Campbell
    Honorable Mention(s): Jordan Binnington

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. David Rittich
Honorable Mention(s): Semyon Varlamov

4/17 NHL Wild Card Targets

Matthew Boldy
– As mentioned earlier in the article, the Wild are in a beyond excellent spot for tonight’s slate and for today’s Wild Card, who better to go with than our classic wild card play, Matt Boldy. The young rookie impressed early on in his NHL career scoring nearly at a point per game pace. His early success got him on the Wild’s top power-play unit where he remains to this day. Despite cooling off slightly as the season went on, he’s back on his earlier form as he is currently on a six-game point streak where he has registered one goal and seven assists over the course of his streak. We already mentioned Minnesota’s offensive abilities, their success at home and the recent struggles of their opponents. All that put together makes Matthew Boldy an excellent Wild Card play on tonight’s slate. If you are looking to have shares of the Wild while also taking a different/GPP-friendly approach, look no further than Matthew Boldy.
Honorable Mention(s): Ilya Mikheyev, Victor Olofsson, Jack Roslovic

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Auston Matthews

Winger Kirill Kaprizov

Defenseman – Justin Faulk

Goalie Mark-Andre Fleury

Tonight’s three game slate feels like a break in the action compared to last night’s massive 14 game slate. This one features a couple of heavy favorites, and if variance doesn’t bite us, we should have a good night. With only three games, this slate is a little bit too volatile for cash games. GPP is absolutely in play! Let’s find the best NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Darcy Kuemper – Colorado Avalanche: Darcy should draw the start at home tonight against the Kings. Those Kings are on the second leg of a back to back, facing a well rested Avalanche team that we know can dominate. This one is a fairly straightforward pick, and easily the top play on this small slate.

Alexander Georgiev – New York Rangers: The Rangers head to Philly to face the Flyers, who just got shellacked by the Capitals last night in Washington. There is no telling who minds the opposing cage tonight, but the Rangers are high on the priority list tonight. Georgiev has solid numbers recently, and with Igor starting last night, expect Georgiev to draw the start tonight.

High Risk Goalie Pick – Sam Montembeault – Montreal Canadiens: The wild card of the slate is the Monreal/Columbus game. With that being said, Montembeault becomes your high risk play. Montreal actually has the second highest goals per game on this slate over their last five games, at 3.6. Only Colorado has a better number at 3.8. Montembeault gets a slight nod over Elvis here, with slightly better numbers. However, if Allen gets the start for the Habs tonight, then Elvis becomes the high risk play, and Columbus gets a healthy bump.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

New York Rangers 1 – Mika Zibanejad/Chris Kreider/Frank Vatrano/Adam Fox: The Flyers stink. There is no other way to put it. The Rangers have a VERY juicy matchup tonight against them, and they should be able to dominate. Regardless of who the Flyers put in net, they are going to have a very tough time stopping this line tonight.

Colorado Avalanche 1 – Nathan MacKinnon/Mikko Rantanen/Andre Burakovsky/Cale Makar: As you probably guessed it, Colorado is a team we want to have a good bit of tonight. This top line has been the focus since Kadri went out, as the Avs have needed to rely on this line for scoring since. A matchup with the visiting Kings tonight gives them a lot of opportunity, and this line has plenty of upside tonight.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Columbus Blue Jackets 1 – Jack Roslovic/Patrik Laine/Gustav Nyquist/Zach Werenski: The risk factor for this line all comes down to who Montreal puts in net tonight. If they end up with Allen in, then this line gets a nice bump. If they stick with Montembeault, then this line will remain risky. The overall matchup for this line is very nice, and the better of the top two Columbus lines.

Philadelphia Flyers 2 – Scott Laughton/Owen Tippett/Travis Konecny: This play is strictly for your deep GPPs and is extremely risky. The Flyers will likely put the Hayes line up against the Zibanejad line tonight, which opens the door just a bit for this line.

Los Angeles Kings 2 – Phillip Danault/Trevor Moore/Viktor Arvidsson: The second line for the Kings had a great night last night, but they are on the road again tonight in a back to back. The even strength matchup is there for them, but there are a lot of risks associated with this play tonight.

On this fine Wednesday, Win Daily Sports takes you between the benches for a 5 game NHL DFS slate! After a massive 10 game slate last night, five games feels like a bit of a reprieve. One thing to note – tonight’s slate starts at 7:30pm Eastern. Let’s find the best NHL DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Good luck!

Goalies

Jacob Markstrom – Calgary Flames: Markstrom is one of the more obvious plays on the slate, and because of that, he is a fine cash play. He should see the win, as Anaheim has been struggling quite a bit this season and of late. The shot upside here might be somewhat limited, but the play makes a lot of sense.

Connor Hellebuyck – Winnipeg Jets: Hellebuyck and the Jets host another team that struggles offensively in the Red Wings. In fact, they have scored just 1.8 goals per game over their last five road games. This spot for Hellebuyck seems like a very good one, and he will likely carry some ownership tonight.

Robin Lehner – Vegas Golden Knights: Lehner is finally back for the Knights, and this is a good spot for him. The play here is a little riskier than the two above, but the Knights should be able to handle the Canucks, especially in their own barn.

High Risk GPP Goalie Pick – Ilya Samsonov – Washington Capitals: Admittedly, this pick is not for the faint of heart. The Caps host the Lightning tonight, who just got beat up pretty badly by the Leafs the other night. This play is all about the shot volume and the upside. If the Caps can pull out a win for Ilya, and he can keep the Lightning limited, then this will be a great upside play tonight.

Lines to Build Around

These NHL DFS lines are considered top plays for the night and can be considered the focal point of your builds. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Calgary Flames 1 – Elias Lindholm/Johnny Gaudreau/Matthew Tkachuk/Rasmus Andersson: The Flames have a very, very juicy matchup tonight against the Ducks in Anaheim. This top line is one of the best in the business and should see chances aplenty tonight.

Winnipeg Jets 2 – Pierre-Luc Dubois/Kyle Connor/Blake Wheeler/Josh Morrissey: This second line for the Jets is in a great, great spot, and they all make up the top power play unit. Hosting the Red Wings tonight, and likely starter Thomas Greiss, this line should have a field day. It will be a challenge to pick between this line and the top Calgary line tonight.

St. Louis Blues 2 – Robert Thomas/Vladimir Tarasenko/Pavel Buchnevich/Nick Leddy: The Blues may end up being slightly overlooked tonight, and are in just as good a spot as the top two lines in this section. The second line is a great play tonight, as they are usually under-owned, and are producing nicely for the Blues. If going here tonight, Thomas/Tarasenko make a great pair for leverage, and Leddy provides great value for a guy who skates heavy minutes and slots into the power play.

High Risk Lines

These are NHL DFS plays that carry significantly more risk, but could pay off at low ownership. They will be listed by position in the following order: Center/Winger/Winger/Correlating Defenseman (if applicable).

Tampa Bay Lightning 3 – Steven Stamkos/Brandon Hagel/Ross Colton: The Lightning shuffled up their lines recently, putting together this line that looks intriguing on paper. Against the Caps tonight, they should see some of the top 2 lines, which actually makes for a good matchup. Hagel and Colton are great value, and the hope is that playing with Stamkos brings the better of them out. Make sure you keep an eye on their line combos pre-lock though, just in case they decide to re-shuffle the lineup.

Vegas Golden Knights 2 – William Karlsson/Jonathan Marchessault/Mike Amadio: In this look, you can prioritize Marchessault/Karlsson as a pair. They have a great matchup tonight against Vancouver, and should be in line for plenty of chances. The Knights have been better at home of late, but the Canucks have been decent on the road, giving up just 2.6 goals per game over their last five road games. Those factors, plus Driedger in net for Seattle, make this a little bit riskier of a play.

St. Louis Blues 1 – Ryan O’Reilly/David Perron/Brandon Saad/Nick Leddy: While the Blues’ second line is in a great spot, especially for leverage, this top line is intriguing as well. Against the Kraken, they should be able to do some offensive damage, and it comes down to how you decide to construct your lineup.

NHL DFS Honorable Mentions: CGY2, WPG1, SEA1, TBLPP, WSH1, VGK1

Value Options – DraftKings

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on DraftKings. Be sure to stack!

Center: William Karlsson ($3500) – Vegas Golden Knights

Wing: Brandon Saad ($3600) – St. Louis Blues

Defense: Nick Leddy ($2800) – St. Louis Blues

Value Options – FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays to help save you some salary in your lineups on FanDuel. Be sure to stack!

Center: Ross Colton ($4200) – Tampa Bay Lightning

Wing: Brandon Saad ($4500) – St. Louis Blues

Defense: Alec Martinez ($3900) – Vegas Golden Knights

Cash Considerations – DraftKings and FanDuel

Consider these NHL DFS plays for your cash lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel. Cash lineups do not need to be stacked, and it is recommended to play no more than two players from a given team.

Center: Elias Lindholm – Calgary Flames

Wing: Kyle Connor – Winnipeg Jets

Defense: Victor Hedman – Tampa Bay Lightning

Goalie: Jacob Markstrom – Calgary Flames

Welcome, everyone! We’re getting closer to the end of the season and as such every game matters so much more! Teams will be going extra hard if they’re in the hunt and it’s time for us to take advantage before the playoffs start! For tonight’s 4/3 NHL slate, we have a medium-sized six gamer and the slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

4/3 NHL Stack Report

1. New York Rangers 1 (Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano)

It’s hard to start the article off with any other team tonight. Despite getting shut out in their last game. The Rangers’ top line has been simply unreal as of late. With the new edition of Vatrano from the Panthers, the Rangers’ top line is now more affordable and looks even more lethal. Tonight, the Rangers will be going up against a Flyers side who has really struggled defensively this season and is coming off a 6-3 loss last night to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

All three of the Rangers’ top liners see power-play time with Zibanejad and Kreider on the top line and Vatrano on the second line. Also of note is that the Flyers are currently on a four-game losing skid and as mentioned earlier, they played last night meaning that backup Martin Jones will be starting the game between the pipes (3.4 Goals against per game and an 8-14-3 record). With the Rangers at home against a tired team with notorious defensive struggles (3.51 Goals against per game, 34 shots on goal allowed per game), the oddsmakers did not hold back. The Rangers’ implied total is currently set at 4 and the Flyers is set at 2.2. This is by far the biggest mismatch of the slate and thankfully, the best available line is very stackable. I highly recommend starting your builds today with the New York Rangers’ top line.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Adam Fox

2. Edmonton Oilers 1 (Kane-McDavid-Puljajarvi)

Despite their hefty price, Edmonton has been one of the top goalscoring teams in the NHL this season, due in large part to their captain Connor McDavid, who is leading the league with 102 points. Anyone who is lucky enough to play alongside McDavid has benefitted on the score sheet as well which is why his whole line is playable tonight, along with his power-play teammates (like Leon Draisaitl).

Tonight of all nights, they are poised to be in a killer position against a divisional rival with significant defensive issues. The Ducks have been giving up 3.13 goals against per game and allowing 32.8 shots on goal against per game. Although Edmonton’s defensive stats have not been much better than Anaheim, a team simply cannot come into a game with McDavid exposing significant defensive issues, McDavid will take advantage of those opportunities every. single. time. The oddsmakers are in full agreement on this one too as they currently have the Oilers at an implied 4.0 goals tonight and have them listed as -215 favourites. If you have the salary I would definitely look at McDavid for tonight’s six-game NHL slate.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Darnell Nurse

Honorable Mention(s): DAL1 (Pavelski-Hintz-Robertson)

4/3 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Jake Oettinger
  2. Igor Shesterkin
    Honorable Mention(s): Kevin Lankinen

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Karel Vejmelka
Honorable Mention(s): Mason Jones, Philipp Grubauer

4/3 NHL Wild Card Targets

Elias Pettersson
– At first glance, this pick seems a little out there. Vegas is instinctively a better team than Vancouver, so why would I recommend one of Vancouver’s top centers? Well, aside from a couple of wins against the Kraken, the Knights have really struggled to find consistency towards the tail end of the season this year. Their goalie injuries have not helped matters either. Currently, both Vegas and Vancouver sit outside a wild card spot and if Vancouver wants to remain in the hunt, they need a result tonight against the Golden Knights and in their next game on Wednesday (also against the Knights).

The bookies are looking at this one as a near-pick em but are favouring Vancouver slightly in this matchup with a 3.1 implied goal total at home. It’s hard to say if Vancouver will win tonight but realistically it’s very easy to see someone like Pettersson get involved on the scoresheet. Along with his time on Vancouver’s top power-play unit, he’s notched four goals over his last three games and has generally been on quite a heater throughout the month of March. He’s been seeing around 20 minutes of ice-time per game and Vegas has really struggled to contain Centers as they have been giving up 11.3 shots on goal/game to centers on the season.
Honorable Mention(s): Alex DeBrincat, Jack Eichel, Nick Schmaltz, Kailer Yamamoto

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Connor McDavid

Winger Frank Vatrano

Defenseman – Alec Martinez

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck

Welcome back to the newest edition of WinDaily’s Wednesday Night Between the Benches Article. Hockey’s been heating up as we approach the end of the season, tonight we have a medium sized six-gamer! For tonight’s 3/30 NHL slate, the first puck drops at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

3/30 NHL Stack Report

1. Winnipeg Jets 1
Ehlers – Scheifele – Stastny (FanDuel: $19,500 | DraftKings: $16,800)
Connor has been listed as out today due to COVID-19 protocol. As a result, Stastny will be coming into the top line, adding much appreciated value to an already favorable line in tonight’s slate. Winnipeg has been on quite the run as of late, winning 8 of their last 11 games. Mainly led by the offense produced by this top line. Winnipeg has been averaging over 3 goals a game this season and their top line centre, Mark Scheifele is registering over a point per game on the season as well. On tonight’s slate they have been matched up against the Buffalo Sabres who have been able to somewhat steer their ship around toward the end of the season, but not nearly enough to be a competitive team moving forward. They still sit with one of the worst GAA in the league at 3.51 as well as one of the worst shot on goal allowed averages at 33.7 and penalty kill percentages at 75%. Despite Winnipeg being a middle-of-the pack team on both sides of the puck, their matchup and their line cost are what really boost their value tonight. Vegas certainly agrees as they currently have them pinned at a 3.3 implied goal total at the time of writing.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Josh Morrissey (FD: $5,900 | DK: $4,800)

2. San Jose Sharks 1
Meier Hertl Barabanov (FanDuel: $20,000 | DraftKings: $16,200)
Here we are back to the well on the San Jose Sharks, as tonight, they are matched up against a team we have spoken about in previous articles, the Arizona Coyotes. The Yotes have been beyond bad this season and instantly raise the value of whoever their opponent is on any given night. The Coyotes currently sit on a six game losing skid where they have averaged 4 goals against per game. There is really no stat category where the Yotes are even slightly redeemable and the Sharks just seem to be that team who got the lucky draw in their opponents tonight. Vegas bookies certainly believe that they will capitalize on their advantage tonight as they are currently set at a 3.4 implied goal total. All three of the Sharks top liners see power play time with Meier and Hertl on the top unit and Barabanov on the Sharks Second Unit. Barabanov’s place on the top line as a salary saver gives me further cause to prioritize the Sharks top line on tonight’s 3/30 six-game slate.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Brent Burns (FD: $5,700 | DK: $6,100)

Honorable Mentions in order: VGK1 (Dadonov-Eichel-Roy), EDM1 (Kane-McDavid-Puljajarvi)

BOOKIE BET OF THE NIGHT: Jets W + Sharks W on the Moneyline Parlay

Honorable Mention(s): Nikolaj Ehlers Anytime Goalscorer +165

3/30 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. James Reimer (FD: $7,700 | DK: $7,900)
  2. Connor Hellebuyck (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,000)
    Honorable Mention(s): Ville Husso

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Karel Vejmelka (FD: $6,800 | DK: $7,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Alex Nedjelkovic

3/30 NHL Wild Card Targets

Frank Vatrano (FD: $4,200 | DK: $2,800)
Vatrano has made quite the splash since joining his new team. He came from playing a bottom six role on a stacked Panthers lineup to the top line of a very top heavy Rangers lineup. His addition moved Panarin down to the second line with Andrew Copp (a good GPP stack in their own right) and he currently sits at four goals over his last three games against some tough competition. His time on ice is a little inconsistent but he is getting a lot of opportunities to produce points in his current role with the Rangers. He is also being given time on the Rangers second power play unit and is up against one of the worst defensive teams in the league in the Detroit Red Wings. The Wings sit dead last in goals allowed per game as well as dead last in their penalty kill, only killing off 72.4% of penalties. Their goaltending isn’t much better as Nedeljkovic sits at 3.26 Goals against per game with a 17-20-7 record, as starters go, it doesn’t get too much worse than that. Especially at Vatrano’s price, I definitely recommend taking a shot on the Rangers top liner.
Honorable Mention(s): Jared McCann, Ryan McLeod, David Perron

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Mark Scheifele

Winger Timo Meier

Defence Josh Morrissey

Goalie James Reimer

Welcome, everyone! What a week of NHL we’ve had! We are back with another weekend slate, this one like most have different games on DraftKings and FanDuel, so be sure to check when your slate locks! For tonight’s 3/27 NHL slate, as mentioned, we have a smaller five (7) gamer and the slate begins at 6:00 pm ET (5:00 pm ET on DraftKings). Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

3/27 NHL Stack Report

1. Toronto Maple Leafs 1
Marner – Matthews – Bunting
Despite the fact that the Leafs are really struggling to put together wins as of late, this line is certainly not the problem. Especially when Auston Matthews is leading the league in goals and in the top ten in points. Last night, this line played a role in both goals, despite the 4-2 loss to the Habs. This line has been extremely consistent as of late and are always good for a goal or two. All three of the top liners for the Leafs see power play time with Auston and Mitch on the first unit and Bunting on the second. It should come as no surprise that the Leafs are coming into tonight with an implied total of 3.7 goals, even against a high scoring team like the Panthers. Lets not forget that the Panthers are starting Spencer Knight between the pipes, his inconsistency trouble could give the Leafs goalies a run for their money!
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Morgan Rielly

2. Winnipeg Jets 1
Connor – Dubois – Wheeler
We’re finally at the most lopsided game of the slate and yes it’s the late hammer. Winnipeg has been ok this season but currently sit just outside a playoff spot. Fortunately for them, they’re up against the Arizona Coyotes who have consistently been THE WORST team in the NHL this season, yes, worse than Montreal, and worse than Seattle. The Coyotes have been worse than any other NHL franchise this season. They also have the stats to prove it, they sit dead last or near last in almost every offensive and defensive stat category and they’ve currently embarked on a four-game losing skid as they enter Winnipeg’s home arena tonight. Winnipeg has seen a lot of success out of their top line, especially from Kyle Connor who registered two points in their last game (including a slick short-handed goal). With his last two point game, Connor currently sits at 10 points over his last five games and that fact coupled with the Jets implied total sitting at over four, it’s really hard for me to avoid the Jets in tonight’s slate.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Josh Morrissey

Honorable Mention(s): COL1 (Nichushkin-MacKinnon-Rantanen), NYR1 (Kreider-Zibanejad-Vatrano) (DK Only), PIT1 (Guentzel-Crosby-Rust) (DK Only)

3/20 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Connor Hellebuyck
  2. Juuse Saros
    Honorable Mention(s): Darcy Kuemper

Worst (Goalies to Target)

1. Karel Vejmelka
Honorable Mention(s): Jon Gillies, Carter Hart (DK Only)

3/27 NHL Wild Card Targets

Cole Caufield
– We’ve discussed Caufield’s comeback season in previous articles but the fact remains that he just doesn’t seem to slow down. Last night he registered another point giving him 9 points over his last seven games (6 of which were goals). Although Montreal is coming into tonight as an underdog, it’s really hard to tell which team has been worse between the Canadiens and the Devils. Bottom line is that Caufield will have his opportunities to score tonight as the Devils defense is really bad and their goalie Jon Gillies holds a sub .900 SV% and a 3-10-1 record.
Honorable Mention(s): Yegor Sharangovich, Joel Farabee, Mark Giordano, Andrew Copp (DK Only)

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Auston Matthews

Winger Valeri Nichushkin

Defenseman – Cale Makar

Hello everyone and welcome to the newest edition of WinDaily’s Wednesday Night Between the Benches Article. Lots of great options available on tonight’s small four-gamer! For tonight’s 3/23 NHL slate, the first puck drops at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

3/23 NHL Stack Report

1. Pittsburgh Penguins 1
Guentzel – Crosby – Rodrigues (FanDuel: $21,800 | DraftKings: $20,600)
This slate has three deep mismatches on paper and one close contest. The mismatch between Toronto and New Jersey is a bit different than the two in front of us but we will touch on that in the Wild Card section. The two mismatches leading our stack report is much more straightforward. Pittsburgh’s whole top line is the more affordable of the two lines in the stack report and they have been playing supremely well leading up to tonight’s matchup against the fledgling Buffalo Sabres. Both teams in this matchup are on small winning streaks but Pittsburgh’s success has been more sustained throughout the season compared to Buffalo and Pittsburgh has been regularly demolishing teams, scoring 4 or 5 goals regularly in their winning efforts. This line in particular has put together 10 points over their last two games (4 G, 6 A). That’s an insane pace and with Buffalo’s defensive struggles that have seen them near the bottom of the league in Goals Allowed, Shots on Goal allowed and Penalty Kill %, I think that Pittsburgh’s top line is in a prime position to tear apart the Buffalo Sabres blue line tonight.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Kris Letang (Brian Doumolin works as a Salary Saver) (FD: $6,400 | DK: $6,800)

2. Colorado Avalanche 1
Nichushkin MacKinnon Rantanen (FanDuel: $25,400 | DraftKings: $20,700)
We’re unsurprisingly back to what has consistently been one of the best lines in hockey for the past few seasons now. Tonight, they’re up against a very unimpressive defense in the Vancouver Canucks and as such the Avalanche are currently given a 4.1 implied total from the Vegas Oddsmakers. Vancouver’s penalty kill has been particularly bad as they sit at dead last with a 71.3% penalty kill rate, a horrible stat to have against the Aves who’s powerplay currently sits at fourth in the entire league at 24.8%. Luckily for us all three members of Colorado’s top line, including Cale Makar appear on Colorado’s top power play unit and will be seeing the most power play time for Colorado tonight. It’s also important to note that Colorado currently sits second in the league in goals per game with 3.83 and the Aves are currently on a four-game winning streak, whereas the Canucks are on a three game skid. I only see this game ending with a convincing victory for the Aves and I recommend having some exposure to them in your lines tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Cale Makar (Devon Toews works as a Salary Saver) (FD: $7,100 | DK: $6,600)

Honorable Mentions in order: NJD1 (Sharangovich-Hughes-Mercer), TOR1 (Marner-Matthews-Bunting), PIT 3 (Rackell-Carter-Kapanen)

BOOKIE BET OF THE NIGHT: OVER 6 PIT/BUF

Honorable Mention(s): Auston Matthews Anytime Goalscorer -150

3/23 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Darcy Kuemper (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Casey DeSmith (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,200)
    Honorable Mention(s): Kevin Lankinen

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Craig Anderson (FD: $7,000 | DK: $7,200)
Honorable Mention(s): Nico Daws, Petr Mrazek

3/23 NHL Wild Card Targets

Yegor Sharangovich (FD: $5,500 | DK: $3,700)
It may seem a little counterintuitive to list a winger on a team that is a +260 underdog as our wild card play of the day but realistically there are a few points that we need to take into account when assessing this play. 1) Sharangovich has gone absolutely gangbusters as of late with five points over his last five games (2 G, 3 A) 2) He is an affordable top liner who sees around 16-19 minutes of ice time a game, including time on the Second power play unit 3) The Leafs have been ABYSMAL as heavy favorites this season. I don’t have the faintest idea as to why but they cannot seem to convert whenever the bookies have them as a -300 favorite or greater (tonight the Leafs are -325) 4) The Leafs are starting Petr Mrazek, a goalie who was recently put on and cleared waivers based on how bad he’s been playing and his presence between the pipes for the Leafs tonight has ballooned the O/U for tonight’s game at an even 7.0. Even though New Jersey’s current O/U is set at 2.6, I truly believe they shouldn’t have a problem putting at least three by Mrazek tonight. Sharangovich works really well with his Centre Jack Hughes and even though the Leafs have defensive struggles their offense is still a juggernaut so don’t take this write up as me saying they are going to lose tonight or that their offense wont break the slate because they very well might. !!Do not overlook the Leafs top line!!
Honorable Mention(s): Rickard Rackell, Mark Giordano, Michael Bunting, Dylan Strome, Conor Garland

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Auston Matthews

Winger Yegor Sharangovich

Defence Kris Letang

Goalie Darcy Kuemper

Welcome, everyone! What a week of NHL we’ve had! We are finally back with another wild slate to end your weekend! Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 3/20 NHL slate, as mentioned, we have a smaller five gamer and the slate begins at 6:00 pm ET (5:00 pm ET on DraftKings). Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

3/20 NHL Stack Report

1. Carolina Hurricanes 1
Trocheck – Aho – Teravainen (FanDuel: $21,500 | DraftKings: $19,700)
We’re starting off tonight’s article with a common favourite in NHL builds this season, the Carolina Hurricanes as they play host to the New York Rangers. The Canes have lost their last few contests but have shaken up their top line making them more affordable for tonight’s matchup. Trocheck and Aho in particular have been really lighting the lamp as of late as Aho has three goals over his last five games and Trocheck is currently on a four-game point streak. All three members of Carolina’s top line appear on their top power-play unit and see on average around 18 to 20 minutes of ice time each, per game. Carolina also holds notable advantages in both goals for and goals allowed statistics and holds an extremely significant advantage in shots allowed as Carolina sits around 29 whereas the Rangers sit at around 32 shots allowed per game. Carolina is rightly favoured in this matchup and have a strong implied goal total of 3.6 making them one of the highest on the slate. I would really recommend using Bear on DraftKings in particular at his price as he has been getting some exposure with the top line and it has been paying off on his stat sheet. Carolina’s top line is definitely a solid option to think about on tonight’s smaller slate.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Ethan Bear (FD: $4,200 | DK: $2,600)

2. San Jose Sharks 1
Dahlen – Hertl – Meier (FanDuel: $19,100 | DraftKings: $15,300)
It’s really hard to imagine not seriously considering San Jose’s top line in tonight’s matchup. On top of the fact that they have the highest implied total on the slate at 3.7 and are set to face off against one of the worst defensive teams in hockey in the Arizona Coyotes who give up 3.53 goals against per game, they are also a very affordable top line. Especially with C/W Jonathan Dahlen who stacks really well alongside his two talented linemates. All three members of the top line see power-play time with Hertl and Meier on the top unit and Dahlen on the second unit. Dahlen has been able to register some points as of late thanks to his linemates with two points over his last five games. Heading into tonight’s smaller slate I really don’t see a goalie worse than Karel Vejmelka and I would highly recommend having some exposure to the San Jose Sharks to target him tonight.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Brent Burns (FD: $5,800 | DK: $5,800)

Honorable Mention(s): WPG2 (Connor-Dubois-Ehlers), DAL1 (Robertson-Hintz-Pavelski) (DK Only)

3/20 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Connor Hellebuyck (FD: $7,400 | DK: $7,800)
  2. James Reimer (FD: $7,600 | DK: $8,400)
Honorable Mention(s): Jaroslav Halak, Frederik Andersen

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Karel Vejmelka (FD: $6,900 | DK: $7,000)
Honorable Mention(s): Adam Scheel (DK Only)

3/20 NHL Wild Card Targets

Quinn Hughes (FD: $5,800 | DK: $5,700)
– Quinn has been a bright spot on an otherwise lacklustre Vancouver team. Despite being a defenseman he is one of the best offensive producers on the team as he currently sits at second on his team in points. Hughes has especially turned it on as of late with a goal and seven assists over his last seven games. On top of that Hughes regularly sees anywhere from 23 to 27 minutes a game and is a mainstay on Vancouver’s top power-play unit. The main draw for me, however, is that the Canucks are coming into tonight with one of the highest implied totals on the slate at 3.7 and Hughes is an excellent way to get comfortable exposure targeting Buffalo’s weak defensive core without relying too heavily on Vancouver’s often unreliable offence.
Honorable Mention(s): Nick Schmaltz, Tanner Pearson, Conor Sheary (DK Only)

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Vincent Trocheck

Winger Timo Meier

Defenseman – Ethan Bear

Goalie Connor Hellebuyck

Hello everyone and welcome to the newest edition of WinDaily’s Wednesday Night Between the Benches Article. We have a great slate tonight with, in my opinion, two clear top options! For tonight’s 3/16 NHL slate, the first puck drops at 7:30 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get into it!

3/16 NHL Stack Report

1. Tampa Bay Lightning 1
Killorn – Stamkos – Kucherov (FanDuel: $23,500 | DraftKings: $18,000)
Wow, we are starting off with a banger. Despite the fact that FanDuel has these three all listed as Wingers, Stamkos will be getting the nod as top-line centre tonight as Point moves down to the second in favour of Alex Killorn. We could easily mention the stark contrasts between the two teams in this matchup and we could rehash Seattle’s goaltending issues, despite the fact that they do not allow a lot of shots on goal, to begin with. But for this matchup, I think it’s safe to say that Seattle has had one of the worst seasons out of any team this year as they sit near the bottom in both offensive and defensive categories and they are set to run directly into the train that is the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champs in the Tampa Bay lightning. (Defensively, the Kraken sit third last in goals for [2.57] and fourth last in goals against [3.59]) Vegas tends to agree, they have set Tampa’s implied total at 3.9 along with making them a 3 to 1 favourite to win tonight. Tampa is up here for a reason and with Killorn’s value, I really like a two-man from this line with Killorn alongside either Kucherov or Sergachev.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Mikhail Sergachev (FD: $5,200 | DK: $4,900)

2. Calgary Flames 1
M.Tkachuk Lindholm Gaudreau (FanDuel: $24,700 | DraftKings: $19,700)
Here we have the biggest favourites of the slate with the highest implied total. Calgary has been on a monstrous pace as of late winning four of their last six games against some formidable opposition such as the Avalanche, Oilers and Lightning. The Flames top line in particular has been responsible for a significant chunk of Calgary’s offensive output that has seen them sit in 6th in the entire league in goals. Johnny Gaudreau has been leading the pack with a strong season with 78 points in just 59 games, placing him fourth in the league in points. I expect him to make strong strides towards the top of that pack tonight against the Devils. The Devils goaltending has been suspect at best and Jon Gilles in particular has had a pretty abysmal season with a 3-9-1 record along with a 3.33 GAA and a save percentage below .900. I would strongly recommend having some exposure to Calgary in your lineups tonight.

Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Rasmus Andersson (FD: $6,000 | DK: $4,300)

Honorable Mentions in order: NJD1 (Sharangovich-Hughes-Mercer), BOS2 (Pastrnak – Haula – Hall)

BOOKIE BET OF THE NIGHT: UNDER 6 BOS/MIN

The logic behind this decision is that out of the two teams Boston is very defensively sound and has done a lot to keep the puck out of their net, but they haven’t been scoring as much as the season progressed. Despite being on a three-game winning streak. The Bruins have only managed to crack 5 goals (between both teams) in a game once over their last four games. Even though there are a lot of top players in this matchup I don’t foresee a lot of goals.

Honorable Mention(s): CBJ +120 on the Moneyline

3/16 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Andrei Vasilevskiy (FD: $8,400 | DK: $8,400)
  2. Jacob Markstrom (FD: $8,200 | DK: $8,500)
    Honorable Mention(s): Elvis Merzlikins

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Philipp Grubauer (FD: $7,100 | DK: $7,000)
Honorable Mention(s): Anton Forsberg, Jon Gilles

3/16 NHL Wild Card Targets

Connor Brown (FD: $5,300 | DK: $4,100)
Connor has been on quite the run as of late with four points over his last four games. He has been incredibly consistent in the points department, especially for a player at his price. Brown has also been good for at least two shots on goal per game if not more and has registered the odd blocked shot. Brown is an uncharacteristic Wild Card as he has a very safe floor but at his price, it’s hard to not be at least somewhat interested in him on tonight’s shortened slate.
Honorable Mention(s): Tyler Toffoli, Kevin Fiala-Matthew Boldy, Jesper Bratt, Josh Norris, Oliver Bjorkstrand

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Centre Elias Lindholm

Winger Nikita Kucherov

Defence Mikhail Sergachev

Goalie Jacob Markstrom

Welcome, everyone! We’ve got an absolute banger of a slate tonight, a bunch of great mismatches to exploit and a strong parlay to get everything started! Get ready for the newest edition of WinDaily’s Between the Benches! For tonight’s 3/8 NHL slate, as mentioned, we massive 11-gamer and the slate begins at 7:00 pm ET. Don’t forget to lock your lines and check the discord for any updates! Let’s get right into it!

PARLAY OF THE DAY

Avalanche, Golden Knight and Leafs winning on the Moneyline

3/8 NHL Stack Report

1. Colorado Avalanche 1
Rantanen – MacKinnon – Landeskog (FanDuel: $27,600 | DraftKings: $21,100)
To lead off the article we have a matchup between one of the league’s highest-scoring offences in Colorado who average 3.93 goals per game against one of the leagues’ worst defences in the New Jersey Devils who average 3.54 goals against per game. These numbers are brutal for the Devils, no matter how you slice it. Unsurprisingly, Colorado has the highest implied total of the slate at an event 4.0 implied goals and on top of that, this line is now back to full strength as league point leaders Rantanen and Landeskog are joined by in my estimation, their team’s most valuable player, Nathan MacKinnon. They’re not quite the same without him and with him in the lineup, the Devils are going to have a rough night at the office, especially considering their goalie troubles as of late.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Cale Makar (FD: $7,200 | DK: $7,100)

2. Vegas Golden Knights 1
Roy – Eichel – Pacioretty (FanDuel: $20,000 | DraftKings: $15,800)
For our second line of the night, it’s not as much about how good they are like the Aves but rather how bad their opponents are. Bad doesn’t even begin to describe the season the Flyers have had to this point. To date, the Flyers have lost 6 of their last eight games, routinely coughing up 5 to 6 goals in the process. The Flyers have struggled a lot this season, whether it be their coaching change, their long losing streaks or their awful goaltending. They have just never been able to find any semblance of consistency. Their opponent’s the Golden Knights haven’t been the Kings of Consistency either but the problems that the Golden Knights have pale in comparison to the massive issues plaguing the Flyers this season. On top of that, the Golden Knights are coming off a strong win against the Ottawa Senators, where this line scored the winning goal with a mere 5.2 seconds left. The Knights have started to play good hockey again, winning three of their last four games and are in a prime position to make it four of their last five, here tonight. The implied total is very favourable to them at 3.5 goals but knowing the Flyers’ defensive struggles, it could end up being much worse than that.
Ideal Defensive Partner(s): Alex Pietrangelo (FD: $6,400 | DK: $6,500)

Honorable Mention(s): TOR1, STL1, ANH1

3/6 NHL Goalie Tracker

Best (Goalies to Roster)

  1. Darcy Kuemper (FD: $8,300 | DK: $8,300)
  2. Robin Lehner (FD: $7,900 | DK: $8,200)
    Honorable Mention(s): Alex Nedjelkovic

Worst (Goalies to Target)

  1. Jon Gillies (FD: $6,800 | DK: $7,100)
Honorable Mention(s): Karel Vejmelka, Carter Hart

3/8 NHL Wild Card Targets

Michael Bunting (FD: $6,100 | DK: $4,700)
– Michael Bunting has been on quite the tear as of late and yes he has benefitted tremendously from having two all-star linemates. Regardless he’s a cheap winger and he’s putting up points like it’s nobody’s business, we already saw him get a hat trick not too long ago and five games ago, he had a five-point game! Ever since that game, he’s continued his point streak as he now has 10 points in his last 5 games. Not too bad for a rookie winger! On top of that, the Leafs are going up against the Kraken. We have gone in-depth on the Kraken’s defensive failings, their high goals-against average in contrast with their low shots on goal against percentage, bottom line is the Leafs (and Bunting) should have no problem tearing right into the Kraken tonight.
Honorable Mention(s): Dylan Strome, Nick Schmaltz, Mason Marchment, Kevin Fiala-Matt Boldy

Core Four: (ALWAYS BE STACKIN’)

Center Nathan MacKinnon

Winger Michael Bunting

Defenseman – Alex Pietrangelo

Goalie Robin Lehner
