And the best righty stick on the Twins belongs to Nelson Cruz (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,800). The slugger has a .424 ISO and a .443 wOBA against lefties this season. There are a good number of options to pair with Cruz that will make for a dangerous stack. C.J. Cron (FanDuel: $3,700 DraftKings: $4,600) owns a .404 ISO versus lefties. Miguel Sano (FanDuel: $3,600 DraftKings: $4,300), Mitch Garver (FanDuel: $3,500 DraftKings: $5,200), Bryon Buxton (FanDuel: $3,200 DraftKings: $4,400) and Ehire Adrianza (FanDuel: $2,200 DraftKings: $3,300) all have ISOs greater than .220 against southpaws this season.The Minnesotaoffense has all the makings of a DFS winner on Thursday.Colorado RockiesThe San Diego Padres will be activating Matt Strahm from the IL in time to make the start on Thursday. This is very good news for the Rockies’ sluggers. Strahm owns a 42.3% flyball rate. Not only does he allow a bunch of flyballs, the Padres’ starter has a 47.2% hard contact rate. A flyball pitcher that gets hit hard will be starting in Colorado, what could go wrong?Plan on a lot going wrong for the Padres’ southpaw. The Rockies should do plenty of damage against Strahm. MLB Hitting and MLB Prop Picks for 6/10: Bronx Bombing Cora Baylis 5 years ago written by Cora Baylis Catcher Gary Sanchez, NYY vs. NYM DK ($5,100) FD ($4,200) I literally looked at the catching selections for about one whole second, as this was one of the easiest recommendations of the season. Sanchez’ season-long numbers are just ridiculous, with the slugging catcher hitting 19 dingers this season en route to a .959 OPS. Those numbers are nice but his peripherals are simply amazing. In fact, Sanchez is one of the league leaders with a .433 xwOBA, .700 xSLG and .364 ISO. That simply means he’s hitting the crap out of the ball and we love him against Jason Vargas. Since 2017, Sanchez is posting a .522 SLG and .865 OPS against southpaws and gets to face a pitcher who is posting a 5.00 xFIP and 1.35 WHIP in a hitter’s haven like Yankee Stadium. First Base Luke Voit DK ($4,400) FD ($4,200) Let’s keep the Yankees rolling with their powerful first baseman. Voit’s numbers since joining the Bronx Bombers are simply bonkers, with the first baseman posting a .947 OPS and .563 SLG in that span. That’s backed up by an xwOBA north of .400 and he’s simply developed into one of the best bats in the American League. Those numbers would put him in consideration against anyone, especially a lefty gas can like Vargas. Voit is providing a .933 OPS against southpaws since the beginning of 2017. Second Base Cesar Hernandez, PHI vs. ARI DK ($3,600) FD ($2,800) With Andrew McCutchen out for the year, Hernandez’s value has risen exponentially because of his move to the leadoff spot. While he hasn’t had any big games since moving up, the fact that he’s averaging nearly five at-bats a game in that role alone makes him an attractive option. We’re talking about a guy with a .277 average and .776 OPS. That’s all you can ask for from someone so cheap and it doesn’t even take into consideration that he’ll be batting atop a lineup projected for more than five runs. The reason for that total is because Philly is squaring off with Taylor Clarke, who posted a 7.22 ERA and 1.60 WHIP at Triple-A this season. We also love that Hernandez gets to face a righty, with the lefty second baseman posting an .842 OPS against right-handers so far this season. Third Base Matt Carpenter, STL at MIA DK ($4,000) FD ($3,400) While Carpenter has struggled the first two months of the season, this price is simply too cheap for someone of his ability. We’re talking about a perennial All-Star candidate who bats atop one of the best lineups in baseball. In his career, Carpenter is posting a .386 OBP and .866 OPS against right-handed pitching. That’s monster production from a player in this price range and recent results would indicate that he’s climbing out of his slump. Over his last 18 games, Carpenter is hitting .279 while providing an .894 OPS. Shortstop Gleyber Torres, NYY vs. NYM DK ($4,300) FD ($3,400) Let’s finish off our Yankees stack with their slugging shortstop. The aforementioned Vargas numbers put all of these Yankees in play, as their projected run total is easily one of the highest on the slate. Torres is a major reason why, as he’s got a .521 SLG and .842 OPS against lefties since his call-up last year. That’s nearly identical to his season-long numbers and it’s hard to understand why he’s in the $4,000-range. Stacking Yankees is easily one of the best strategies on this slate and it’s actually reasonably affordable with Torres and Voit at such nice bargains. Outfield Juan Soto, WSH at CWS DK ($5,100) FD ($3,900) Not many people realize this but Soto is arguably the hottest hitter in the league right now. Over his last 21 games, Soto is hitting .385 while providing a .462 OBP and 1.128 OPS. That’s obviously absurd and it’s pretty much the guy we’ve seen since his call-up last season. Getting the platoon advantage in the icing on the cake, with the Washington outfielder posting a .415 OBP and .936 OPS against righties for his career. Journeyman,Odrisamer Despaigne is not a guy we need to fear either, as his 5.54 ERA and 1.49 WHIP since the beginning of 2015 shows why he was in the minors.Corey Dickerson, PIT at ATL DK ($3,900) FD ($3,000) Many people are forgetting about Dickerson because he just came off the IL but this guy has made a name for himself by destroying righties. In his career, Dickerson is posting a .526 SLG and .836 OPS against right-handed pitching. Getting that sort of production from a player this cheap is extremely rare, especially in such a premium matchup. Over his last two starts, Gausman has allowed 15 runs and 20 hits, which has skyrocketed his ERA to 6.15. Dickerson pairs beautifully with Gregory Polanco, as these guys make a sneaky two-man stack against the struggling Gausman. Eloy Jimenez, CWS vs. WSH DK ($3,100) FD ($2,800) Jimenez is one of the highest touted prospects in the Majors and that makes this price simply ridiculous. We’re talking about a guy who provided historical numbers at the minor league level, with Jimenez posting a .326/.382/.573 slash line since 2017. That equates to an OPS just shy of 1.000 and an ISO in the .250 range. Those are elite statistics and it’s just a matter of time before we see that sort of ability at the Major League level. Recent results are really promising too, with Jimenez entering this game in the midst of a six-game hitting streak while going yard in back-to-back games. That sort of power potential is particularly intriguing against Anibal Sanchez, who ranks in the Top-3 in dingers allowed since 2015. Monkey Knife Fight Pick of the Day Gary Sanchez/Gleyber Torres/ Luke Voit Over 0.5 Home RunsI’m 8-3 over my last 11 MFK picks, so if you’re not taking these recommendations, I don’t know what you’re thinking. I’ve actually yet to pick a home run parade prop as of yet but I absolutely love this pick today. There’s really not much explanation needed because I wrote up all of these guys but I’d genuinely be surprised if none of them hit a homer. The main reason for that is because they all get the platoon advantage against Jason Vargas, who’s posting a 5.05 ERA and 1.39 WHIP since the beginning of last season, which is miraculously lower than his xFIP. Mix in his 46.2% hard contact rate and you should not be surprised to see that he is allowing 3.31 HR/9. Then when you consider the fact that the Yankees have a .203 ISO versus right-handed pitching and it is easy to see why the Pinstripes will be the chalk stack on Thursday.Of course, the Yankees’ stack will start with Gary Sanchez(FanDuel: $4,500, DraftKings: $5,500). The Milwaukee starter is a one-pitch pitcher that gets hard (41.4% hard contact rate) and gives up flyballs (51.4% flyball rate). Peralta throws his fastball over 75% of the time. You willwant to target Marlins’ bats that do well against the fastball. Austin Dean hasa .357 batting average and a .286 ISO against the pitch. Josh Riddle has a .239ISO versus the fastball in 2019. Josh Alfaro owns a .325 batting average and a.525 ISO against the pitch. MLB DFS Hitting and MLB Prop Picks for 5/27: Lingering Love for Votto Cora Baylis 5 years ago written by Cora Baylis We’re 5-1 over our last six picks in Monkey Knife Fight recommendations, so let’s keep it rolling here!Catcher Gary Sanchez, NYY vs. SD DK ($5,500) FD ($4,200) If you’ve read my articles before, you know that I either pay up for catcher or punt the position. For this slate, we’re going to pay up for the best catcher in the game. It’s really hard to argue with Sanchez’s numbers, with the stud hitting 15 dingers while posting a .961 OPS so far this season. One would argue that his numbers should be even better when looking at his peripherals, with Sanchez posting a .449 xwOBA and .371 ISO. Both those numbers rank Top-5 in the league and we have to love him at home against a lefty. First Base Joey Votto, CIN vs. PIT DK ($3,700) FD ($2,900) This one may surprise some people but the Joey Votto hate train has gone too far. While he’s struggled mightily for over a year now, the track record is too good for someone priced this cheaply. We’re talking about a guy who has a career ISO near .220, an OBP over .420 and a wOBA north of .400. That means he’ll inevitably get better and recent results would indicate that it’s starting to happen now. Not only does Votto enter this matchup in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, he actually has multi-hit games in three straight. Getting to face a righty is the icing on the cake, with Votto posting a .436 OBP and .978 OPS against right-handed pitching in his career. Second Base Jonathan Schoop, MIN vs, MIL DK ($4,500) FD ($3,300) Using the Twins is always a good idea, as they simply have the best offense in baseball. In fact, Minnesota currently leads the Majors in runs scored, OPS, wOBA and xwOBA. While Schoop moves around in the order, that really doesn’t matter. The reason we really like him today is because he’s only $3,300 on FanDuel and gets the platoon advantage against Gio Gonzalez. Since the beginning of 2016, Schoop has an OPS just shy of .800 against southpaws. He comes into this matchup raking too, collecting four homers, eight runs scored and 10 RBI over his last six games. Stacking Twins is one of the best strategies on this slate and Schoop is a great piece to that approach with this friendly price tag. Third Base Miguel Sano, MIN vs. MIL DK ($4,400) FD ($3,900) Sano has quietly been one of the best power hitters in the league this season, as he’s absolutely destroying baseballs since coming off the IL. In fact, Sano actually leads all hitters with a .531 ISO, hitting two doubles and five homers in just eight games played. That’s obviously absurd power and it’s no surprise when you consider the fact that he has a .240 career ISO. We absolutely love Sano against southpaws too, with the slugger posting an OPS just shy of .850 against left-handers for his career. Shortstop Gleyber Torres, NYY vs. SD DK ($4,600) FD ($3,600) If you want to use Sanchez, it’s hard to fade Torres for a two-man Yankee choice. What makes Torres so intriguing is his unbelievable hot streak, with the slugging shortstop providing three doubles, eight homers, 13 runs scored and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. That makes these price tags hard to understand, as he should be $500 more on each site. Getting to face a lefty makes the prices even more baffling, with Torres posting a .576 SLG last season with the platoon advantage in his favor. OutfieldersYasiel Puig, CIN vs. PIT DK ($4,300) FD ($3,000) Last time we recommended Puig, he went yard, and we’re going to bet on him continuing his recent hot streak. Over his last 12 games, Puig has hit four homers while accruing 12 RBI. That’s a significant improvement after a nightmare opening month and Puig is actually known for getting off to slow starts. Getting to face Nick Kingham is what makes him so enticing on this slate though, with the Pittsburgh righty posting an 8.76 ERA and 1.99 WHIP so far this season. That’s obviously terrible and Puig is actually a rare guy who has opposite splits. That means we want to use him against righties, especially considering it gives him a much better chance at a steal while improving his hitting profile. Wil Myers, SD at NYY DK ($4,100) FD ($3,000) I’m one of those rare Myers truthers out there and he’s simply been much better than what people give him credit for. If you average his numbers to 160 games, we’re talking about a guy who’s averaging 30 homers and 30 steals over his last three years. That’s simply elite production and recent results indicate that he’s returning to that form. In fact, Myers has three homers and three walks over his last two games. Getting to hit in Yankee Stadium should only help him continue that form, as that’s easily one of the best hitting parks in the Majors. It’s not like New York is throwing out anyone we need to worry about either, with Luis Cessa and Nestor Cortes Jr. toeing the rubber for the Stripes. Eloy Jimenez, CWS vs. KC DK ($3,800) FD ($3,200) Jimenez’s early-season numbers don’t give us much reason to use him, but he looks like a different player since coming off the IL. Over his last five games, Jimenez has swatted three dingers. That’s the stud prospect we’ve all been waiting for and it’s hard to argue with the fact that he posted a wOBA north of .400 at the minor league level and an ISO well above .200. We really like that he gets to face Homer Bailey too, with the Royals righty posting a 6.13 ERA and 1.53 WHIP en route to an ugly .371 xwOBA. Monkey Knife Fight Pick of the Day Gio Gonzalez under 5.5 strikeouts vs. MIN Play MLB Player Prop Games and Get 100 Percent Bonus!It was tough to find a MKF pick that I liked, but this Gonzalez prop looked too good to be true. The main reason we want to take the under here is because of this offense, with Minnesota sitting first in nearly every offensive statistic. That’s no surprise when you consider the fact they’re averaging 9.2 runs across their last 11 games. In addition, no starter has struck out more than six batters in any of the Twins last 18 games while 12 of them have had three Ks or less. Those trends, paired with the fact that the Twins sit with the third-lowest K rate in the Majors, puts Gonzalez in a tough spot, as he has a K rate below 20 percent over the last two years. We’re talking about a guy who has a career ISO near .220, an OBP over .420 and a wOBA north of .400. That means he’ll inevitably get better and recent results would indicate that it’s starting to happen now. Not only does Votto enter this matchup in the midst of a five-game hitting streak, he actually has multi-hit games in three straight. Getting to face a righty is the icing on the cake, with Votto posting a .436 OBP and .978 OPS against right-handed pitching in his career. Second Base Jonathan Schoop, MIN vs, MIL DK ($4,500) FD ($3,300) Using the Twins is always a good idea, as they simply have the best offense in baseball. In fact, Minnesota currently leads the Majors in runs scored, OPS, wOBA and xwOBA. While Schoop moves around in the order, that really doesn’t matter. The reason we really like him today is because he’s only $3,300 on FanDuel and gets the platoon advantage against Gio Gonzalez. Since the beginning of 2016, Schoop has an OPS just shy of .800 against southpaws. He comes into this matchup raking too, collecting four homers, eight runs scored and 10 RBI over his last six games. Stacking Twins is one of the best strategies on this slate and Schoop is a great piece to that approach with this friendly price tag. Third Base Miguel Sano, MIN vs. MIL DK ($4,400) FD ($3,900) Sano has quietly been one of the best power hitters in the league this season, as he’s absolutely destroying baseballs since coming off the IL. In fact, Sano actually leads all hitters with a .531 ISO, hitting two doubles and five homers in just eight games played. That’s obviously absurd power and it’s no surprise when you consider the fact that he has a .240 career ISO. We absolutely love Sano against southpaws too, with the slugger posting an OPS just shy of .850 against left-handers for his career. Shortstop Gleyber Torres, NYY vs. SD DK ($4,600) FD ($3,600) If you want to use Sanchez, it’s hard to fade Torres for a two-man Yankee choice. What makes Torres so intriguing is his unbelievable hot streak, with the slugging shortstop providing three doubles, eight homers, 13 runs scored and 13 RBI over his last 15 games. That makes these price tags hard to understand, as he should be $500 more on each site. Getting to face a lefty makes the prices even more baffling, with Torres posting a .576 SLG last season with the platoon advantage in his favor. OutfieldersYasiel Puig, CIN vs. PIT DK ($4,300) FD ($3,000) Last time we recommended Puig, he went yard, and we’re going to bet on him continuing his recent hot streak. Over his last 12 games, Puig has hit four homers while accruing 12 RBI. That’s a significant improvement after a nightmare opening month and Puig is actually known for getting off to slow starts. Getting to face Nick Kingham is what makes him so enticing on this slate though, with the Pittsburgh righty posting an 8.76 ERA and 1.99 WHIP so far this season. That’s obviously terrible and Puig is actually a rare guy who has opposite splits. That means we want to use him against righties, especially considering it gives him a much better chance at a steal while improving his hitting profile. Wil Myers, SD at NYY DK ($4,100) FD ($3,000) I’m one of those rare Myers truthers out there and he’s simply been much better than what people give him credit for. If you average his numbers to 160 games, we’re talking about a guy who’s averaging 30 homers and 30 steals over his last three years. That’s simply elite production and recent results indicate that he’s returning to that form. In fact, Myers has three homers and three walks over his last two games. Getting to hit in Yankee Stadium should only help him continue that form, as that’s easily one of the best hitting parks in the Majors. It’s not like New York is throwing out anyone we need to worry about either, with Luis Cessa and Nestor Cortes Jr. toeing the rubber for the Stripes. Eloy Jimenez, CWS vs. KC DK ($3,800) FD ($3,200) Jimenez’s early-season numbers don’t give us much reason to use him, but he looks like a different player since coming off the IL. Over his last five games, Jimenez has swatted three dingers. That’s the stud prospect we’ve all been waiting for and it’s hard to argue with the fact that he posted a wOBA north of .400 at the minor league level and an ISO well above .200. We really like that he gets to face Homer Bailey too, with the Royals righty posting a 6.13 ERA and 1.53 WHIP en route to an ugly .371 xwOBA. Monkey Knife Fight Pick of the Day Gio Gonzalez under 5.5 strikeouts vs. MIN Play MLB Player Prop Games and Get 100 Percent Bonus!It was tough to find a MKF pick that I liked, but this Gonzalez prop looked too good to be true. The main reason we want to take the under here is because of this offense, with Minnesota sitting first in nearly every offensive statistic. That’s no surprise when you consider the fact they’re averaging 9.2 runs across their last 11 games. In addition, no starter has struck out more than six batters in any of the Twins last 18 games while 12 of them have had three Ks or less. Those trends, paired with the fact that the Twins sit with the third-lowest K rate in the Majors, puts Gonzalez in a tough spot, as he has a K rate below 20 percent over the last two years. He has been nearly evenly vulnerable against leftiesand righties, so I will spend for Anthony Rendon at $5500 on DraftKings, 4000for Adam Eaton, and 4600 for Juan Soto. If Matt Adams is in the lineup I willalso strongly consider him at 4100. I am always up for attacking Toronto’s Trent Thornton, so Iwill cherry pick a Padre or two. Franmil Reyes (4,400) is hitting .314 withseven homers and 12 RBI in 22 road games. Manuel Margot is hitting .306 witheight RBI and seven runs scored in 20 road games. He hits lower in the lineup butis a great salary saver at 2,900 if he is active. The Mets lineup is depleted by injuries, but could still providequality choices against Gregory Soto and the Tigers 28th rankedbullpen in terms of ERA. Pete Alonso will be worth 5300 and J.D, Davis shouldbe locked in at 4,200. Amed Rosario is a GPP play at 3,900 if he leads offagain. Jerad Eickoff’s mini-resurrection seems to have flamed outalready. It’s a bad spot for him at Milwaukee. If Ben Gamel is in the lineup Ilike him at 3700. Keston Hiura is worth strong consideration at the same priceas he has been hitting fifth or sixth recently. Mike Foltynewicz has melted into a regular target of DFSplayers. He has a 7.50 road ERA and RHPs have actually fared better againsthim, hitting .327 with six of his 10 HRs allowed. Let’s go Double Pauling: PaulGoldschmidt is my play of the night at just 4,100, and I will take Paul DeJongat 4,700. I will also take Dexter Fowler if he is in the lineup at 3,800. He owns a .392 ISO and a .413 wOBA against them. Juan Soto (FanDuel: $3,800 DraftKings: $4,800), Brian Dozier (FanDuel: $2,500 DraftKings: $3,600), Victor Robles (FanDuel: $3,200 DraftKings: $4,300) and Howie Kendrick (FanDuel: $2,900 DraftKings: $4,800) should all be considered as well. Sampson has allowed a .343 batting average, .428 wOBA and 2.22 HR/9 to right-handed hitters this season.
