Fearless Five

We’ve got five hitters for you in the 9/6 MLB DFS main (1:05 p.m. EST) slate in large-field FD GPPs, where it pays to be fearless and swing for the fences.

9/6 MLB DFS – C-1B Jose Abreu (FD $3,800) CWS @ KC

I’ve made the mistake of fading Abreu in favor if cheaper options before, and it’s a rough lesson to learn. Everything about the Cuban slugger’s matchup today is favorable, from the opposing pitcher (“Oh How Far Have You Fallen, Matt Harvey?” could be a modern folk song performed in sandlots by hipster troubadours) to the 20 mph winds blowing out among the ramped-up heat and humidity. I’ll be targeting a few hitters from the ChiSox today, but Abreu is the first.

9/6 MLB DFS – 2B D.J. LeMahieu (FD $3,900) NYY at BAL

We’ll need to find some value plays later in our GPP lineups, but there will be plenty of time for that one we delve into the outfield, where there’s always bargain options worth a look. For now, let’s focus on high-upside plays like LeMahieu, who along with his general awesomeness against RHPs (.408 wOBA) so far this season) has a history of smashing poor Asher Wojciechowski, the poster boy for dumpster fires. Just be aware that since both the Yankees and White Sox have the highest implied totals of the day, three of my five targets here will be players from those squads – and I’ll be using players from those games in my GPP stacks.

9/6 MLB DFS – 3B Josh Donaldson (FD $2,800) MIN vs. DET

We’re still getting a massive discount on Donaldson from the FanDuel algorithm since he’s only a few games back from injury, and if we want anybody with a pulse on the bump on our teams, we’re going to have to get some sub $3K players in here. The veteran masher is hitting second in the potent Twins lineup and faces a rookie pitcher (RHP Casey Mize) who skipped AAA and is definitely going to have his hands full today. This might be where I stray a bit from my CHW and NYY stacks because I’m not as high on switch-hitting Yoan Moncada, whose numbers against RHP aren’t as great, and hot corner savant Giovanny Urshela is on the IL.

UPDATE: With no Donaldson in the lineup, the Twins look a little less potent and you can pivot to a similarly priced Austin Riley or Travis Shaw.

9/6 MLB DFS – SS Gleyber Torres (FD $2,800) NYY at BAL

Torres has struggled this season with injuries and ineptitude at the plate, but if there’s a venue that will get the good vibes going for him again, it’s Camden Yards – where he boasted a 1.667 OPS (not a typo) in 36 plate appearances in 2019 and 7 of his 12 hits were homers. We don’t always like to play guys who are scuffling, but he notched a double and a walk last night and this could be the spot he breaks out in a big way. I wouldn’t question your decision to play either White Sox SS Tim Anderson or Twins SS Jorge Polanco if you don’t trust Torres yet, but I’m fearlessly forging into the fray with Gleyber!

UPDATE: Ugh. Another spot where we have to pivot. Jorge Polanco makes the most sense and you can always adjust another spot to fit in Tim Anderson.

9/6 MLB DFS – OF Jesse Winker (FD $2,900) CIN @ PIT

While generational talent Luis Robert and RHP destroyer Eloy Jimenez will be anchors in many of my GPPs, I’ve got to highlight the insane value we’re getting from Winker, who’s realizing his massive potential and sporting a .432 wOBA vs. RHPs in 2020 (including a .329 ISO and eight homers in 85 AB). Winker comes in at an affordable price in the heart of the Reds order against a relatively woeful and eminently hittable Chad Kuhl, who’s taken his lumps from the Cincy offense.

NOTE: My pitching will be a mix of Masahiro Tanaka (always a nail-biting GPP play with upside) and the occasional high-priced option when I can find enough value in the $2,200-$2,800 range for UTIL and the third OF position.

Good luck!

I’ve got five hitters for you to consider for the early 7/26 MLB DFS 11-game slate in DK GPPs, where it pays to be fearless and swing for the fences!

7/26 MLB DFS – C Robinson Chirinos (DK $3,900) TEX vs. COL

The Rangers offense has been a bit slow out of the gate, but RHBsin that lineup have a favorable matchup vs. LHP Kyle Freeland. One fearless leftymasher who comes at a considerable discount is Chirinos – an ample power sourceat catcher and a guy who often flies under the radar in DFS. If you’re notpaying up for J.T. Realmuto (DK $4,800), Mitch Garver ($4,900) or ChristianVazquez (DK $4,300), Chirinos makes sense as part of a stack or as a one-off tosave a few bucks and get similar upside. *Note: Chirinos battled an ankleinjury near the close of camp and sat out Saturday but looks to be good to gofor today.

7/26 MLB DFS – 1B Joey Votto (DK $3,800) CIN vs. DET

Speaking of discounts, Votto is a relatively inexpensive veteran slugger off to an uncharacteristically hot start, with a couple HRs in his first two games. I’m intrigued by the Reds stack against eminently hittable Spencer Turnbull, who’s been known to issue the occasional free pass and give up the long ball. Spend-up options include Anthony Rizzo (DK $5,000) and one-off Josh Bell (DK $4,900), and the punt-worthy Michael Chavis (DK $2,900) is available at both 1B and 2B – but I’m putting about half my GPP eggs in the Votto basket on the early slate.

7/26 MLB DFS – SS Alex Bregman (DK $4,900) HOU vs. SEA

Thankfully, Bregman is available at both SS and 3B on DK, where there’s a few other guys I’d like to play at the hot corner. The Astros have the second-highest projected total after the Red Sox, and it’s a GPP priority to lock in Bregman and his eye-popping .417 career wOBA vs. LHP against Yusei Kikuchi, a southpaw with a home run problem. Xander Bogaerts (DK $4,600) got the day off Saturday but returns to the BoSox lineup this afternoon, so he’s a viable option as pivot from Bregman, in Boston stacks or alongside Bregman if you plug the latter in at 3B. Red-hot Didi Gregorius (DK $3,500) sticks out as a value option for the Phillies.

7/26 MLB DFS – 3B Mike Moustakas (DK $4,000) CIN vs. DET

I’d like to play both Reds 3B Eugenio Suarez (DK $4,500) and Moustakas on DK, but you have to take your pick since each player is limited to a singular position at the hot corner. While Suarez might see lower ownership, we can probably get our variance elsewhere, as the man who sounds like a delicious Mediterranean casserole comes in with the highest daily simulated projections in the Cincy lineup. He’s the anchor of a 1-2-4-5-6 Reds stack that won’t cost you a bundle, and his upside is similar to more expensive options like Josh Donaldson (DK $4,200) and Rafael Devers (DK $5,200).

7/26 MLB DFS – OF Christian Yelich (DK $5,600) MIL at CHC

I’m on board with using potent Reds leadoff hitter Jesse Winker (DK $3,500) and value option Shogo Akiyama (DK $2,000) – easy-to-fit stack components who could make or break the slate – but my favorite spend-up at OF on DK is Yelich, who annihilated RHPs to the tune of a .473 wOBA and 195 wRC+ in 2019. The Brewers star went 1-for-5 with a dinger in yesterday’s game and we could see the wind blowing out in Wrigley this afternoon. I’m also interested in seeing Joey Gallo (DK $4,300) solve the new roofed park in Texas, so I’ll be mixing in shares of him as well. Yelich is expensive, but my first few builds include him and all of the aforementioned players with Trevor Bauer and Carlos Carrasco at my pitching spots – two of the highest projected starters in the slate.

ANOTHER NOTE: It’s also my 45th birthday today, so taking down one of the big GPPs on DraftKings would be the ultimate present! Good luck… and be fearless!

In this column, I’ll highlight five NBA DFS 3/11 difference-makingplays in GPPs, from studs with a huge upside to value plays who could hit8x-10x.

NBA DFS 3/11 — PG

De’Aaron Fox, SAC (vs. NO) – DK $7,800

I’m locking Fox into a bunch of my GPP builds because he’s guaranteed 30-35 minutes in a pace-up game (with the highest total of the night at 235) against the Pelicans and both he and Lonzo Ball should be busy in this one. The matchup is good, the price is affordable and while the upside has been limited to around 40-45 DK points, it’s probably well over 50 tonight given the circumstances. Ball could definitely work in-game stacks, and I think Chris Paul is your sneakiest pivot in a game that could stay close, force him into his usual 4th quarter savior role, and surprise some folks.

Pivot/Stack: Chris Paul/Lonzo Ball

NBA DFS 3/11 — SG

Jrue Holiday, NO (@ SAC) – DK $8,200

We know thatJrue has some big games, and tonight is a candidate for one of his monster performancesat both ends of the floor. The price is up, so there may be better cash gameplays, but he’s a solid play in GPPs for his 60-point upside. I’ll have multiplecombos of guards and forwards in the NO-SAC game, but we can start with Fox andHoliday in our main build. Buddy Hield is a solid game stack option at SG atsuch a low price, and we have Cam Reddish as a viable value play.

Value/Stack: Cam Reddish/Buddy Hield

NBA DFS 3/11 — SF

Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC (vs. NO) – DK $5,100

If you’re not into playingbench players and Hield, Bogdanovich is a high-upside play in a high-scoringgame at a very affordable price. You could pivot to Harrison Barnes as well, but he’s more of a cash game play with his limited upside. Brandon Ingram is thegame stack option at SF, but I’m building most of my lineups around the nextguy in my Fearless Five.

Pivot/Stack: Harrison Barnes/BrandonIngram

NBA DFS 3/11 — PF

Zion Williamson, NO (@ SAC) – DK $7,800

I’m anticipating lower ownership than usual because of the red “1” next to his matchup on DK – but Zion is probably matchup-proof at this point. He’s seeing 30-35 minutes regularly and the King’s frontcourt doesn’t really scare me off him. I think the main reason the Kings don’t give up big fantasy points to opposing bigs is that most teams just go small to match up with them. Zion is not your typical PF/C. Maxi Kleber makes a lot of sense at $4,600 on DK for value, but only if Kristaps Porzingis sits the second half of the Dallas back-to-back. I’m not too interested in the Sacramento bigs because of the uncertainty of minutes with Richaun Holmes back in the fold, and I can’t list the most obvious pivot because I’m playing him at C.

Value: Maxi Kleber (and see below for more PF/C)

NBA DFS 3/11 — C

Julius Randle, NYK (@ ATL) – DK $7,800

Playing Julius Randle tonight has a lot of things going for it. He played just 26 minutes in last night’s game against the Wizards and let a lot of folks down, so his ownership won’t be near what it should be in a smash spot against the Hawks. I’m fearlessly forecasting 50+ DK points for the versatile big man tonight, and the only centers I’ll be playing as pivots in any of my builds are Bam Adebayo (C/UTIL), the aforementioned Zion and Kleber (both PF/C/F/UTIL eligible) and value options Thon Maker and Nicolo Melli (also both PF/C/F/UTIL) at just $3,100.

Pivot/Punts: Bam Adebayo/Thon Maker orNicolo Melli

****BONUS EARLY FIVE!!!****

NBA DFS 3/8 Early DraftKings Slate (3 p.m.) Fearless Five:

PG – Lonzo Ball, NO @ MIN ($8K)

SG – Malik Beasley, MIN vs. NO ($5.9K)

SF – Brandon Ingram, NO @ MIN ($7.9K)

PF – James Johnson, MIN vs. NO ($4.8K)

C – DeAndre Jordan, BKN vs. CHI ($4.9K)

Okay, on the main slate…

NBA DFS 3/8 — PG

Eric Bledsoe, MIL (@ PHO) – DK $5,400

This doesn’t need a lot of explanation, but we play Eric Bledsoe if Giannis (doubtful after a hard fall on Friday night) sits for the veteran guard’s 32.3% usage rate when the Freak is off the floor. George Hill is questionable, so that makes me lock him at PG in my early builds. No pivot necessary, but stackers can play Rubio since he’s always got 7x when he’s under $7K. Booker is also PG-eligible, but we’ll get right into that now.

Stack: Ricky Rubio

NBA DFS 3/8 — SG

Devin Booker, PHO (vs. MIL) – DK $8,400

The removal of Giannis (which we’re penciling in since he’s doubtful) helps the Suns offense tremendously, and with DeAndre Ayton still out there’s plenty of usage to go around. I’m plugging him in at SG and riding this game on both sides. One pivot idea for SG (if you feel you have too much MIL@PHO and a negative correlation with the Phoenix guards and forwards) is looking to the Spurs-Cavs game with DeMar DeRozan ($7,300 – SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) and Collin Sexton ($7,100 – PG/SG/G/UTIL).

Pivots: DeMar DeRozanand/or Collin Sexton

NBA DFS 3/8 — SF

Khris Middleton, MIL (@ PHO) – DK $6,500

If it’s looking like a game stack, that’s because it is. Middleton without Giannis still sees plenty of production, especially when the price is under $7K. We’re getting a huge bargain for a guy with 50+ upside. I also like Terrence Ross in the matchup against the Rockets, and Mikal Bridges might be an option in-game stacks. There’s a pair of obvious and more expensive) pivots in the MIA @ WAS game: Bradley Beal and Jimmy Butler – but I’m prioritizing Bam in that game.

Pivots/Value/Stack:Bradley Beal & Jimmy Butler/Terrence Ross /Mikal Bridges

NBA DFS 3/8 — PF

Julius Randle, NY (vs. DET) – DK $7,200

When Randle sees 30-35+ minutes, he gets around 40-50 DK points, so I’m excited to play him against a woeful Pistons frontcourt that doesn’t play a heck of a lot of quality defense. He should do well given Detroit’s struggle to handle versatile bigs and always has an enormous upside. I really like Aaron Gordon too in a pace-up game vs. the Rockets, and game stackers can probably even deploy Christian Wood if they have a salary in the fill-in spot. So many options, though. We’ve seen firsthand what Dario Saric can do in this Ayton-less Phoenix lineup, so he’s a decent bargain pivot given their small rotation. Ersan Ilyasova is your $3K punt if he starts.

Pivot/Bargain/Stack/Punt: AaronGordon/Dario Saric/Christian Wood/Ersan Ilyasova

NBA DFS 3/8 — C

Bam Adebayo, MIA (@ WAS) – DK $8,000

The skilled big man is just $8K, and this is a smash spotfor him. That enormous wingspan comes into play in this fast-paced game thatsports the second-highest total (after ORL@HOU’s 233) at 231.5. A lot of Heatare good plays (and I guess a couple of Wizards since they have a capable offense),so Rui Hachimura ($5K – PF/C/F/UTIL) might see minutes in the 30s again. NikolaVucevic could have a big game against a small Houston lineup as well – sincenobody should challenge him for rebounds.

Pivot/Stack: Nikola Vucevic/RuiHachimura

NBA DFS 3/7 — PG

*Mike Conley, UTA (@ DET) – DK $4,900

There are plenty of high-upside options in the $6-8K range on DraftKings tonight including De’Aaron Fox, Collin Sexton, and even Shake Milton, but Mike Conley remains a solid value option who can still give up 40+ DK points (as he did last night against the Knicks). While the Pistons have done a fine job against guards this season, they have been without the defenders who accomplished that reputation (Derrick Rose, Bruce Brown). Brown looks to be back for this one, but Conley could still have his way with the Detroit backcourt. I’ll find room for some of the aforementioned guards in my GPPs, but Conley’s price is way too low and he’ll be part of my core. Game stackers might want to take a closer look at Jordan McRae (PG/SG/G/UTIL), who played 22 minutes in his debut for the Pistons and could see 25-30 minutes of action tonight, especially if Brandon Knight (questionable, knee soreness) is inactive or limited.

*UPDATE: Conley might get the night off as he’s been sitting the second half of back-to-backs. We’ll see how he feels today and pivot to Jordan Clarkson, who’s just $4,000. That leaves us an extra $900 to upgrade at another spot in the lineup.

Pivots/Stack/Punt: De’AaronFox or Shake Milton/Jordan McRae/Matthew Dellavedova

NBA DFS 3/7 — SG

Collin Sexton, CLE (vs. DEN) – DK $6,900

Sexton’s production has been elevated in the absence of Darius Garland, and he’s SG-eligible on DK. I mentioned him in the Conley writeup and will be making use of him in my core GPP builds despite a relatively difficult matchup against the Nuggets. Bargain pivots include risk-reward Memphis guard Dillon Brooks (who’s no longer forward-eligible on DK) and shooting wing Kent Bazemore (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL), who’s facing his former team and have played at least 28 minutes in six of his last nine games for the Kings. In a CLE-DEN game stack, I’d have plenty of interest in Will Barton, who’s still too cheap at $5,300 and it could be ready for an 8x breakout.

Pivots/Stack: Dillon Brooksor Kent Bazemore/Will Barton

NBA DFS 3/7 — SF

**Kevin Huerter, ATL (@ MEM) – DK $5,600

Huerter’s production increaseswithout Trae Young on the floor, but he’s definitely risky. If he sees 35minutes he can drop 45 DK points, especially in a favorable matchup withMemphis, so I’m loading him up in my GPPs. There are so many SF options on DKbecause of the preponderance of swingmen on the teams in this slate, but the mainpivots off Huerter include teammate and worthwhile bargain Cam Reddish (whoscored a career-high 28 points last night) and Bruce Brown, who could see bigminutes in his return to the Pistons rotation. If those two don’t do it foryou, there’s always sixth man and volume shooter Buddy Hield (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL),who’s still very cheap but seems to have his upside capped under 40 DK points.

Pivots: Cam Reddish or Bruce Brown/Buddy Hield

**UPDATE: Less interested if Trae Young plays, and with Steph Curry out, we need to take a closer look at Andrew Wiggins (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL), Eric Paschall (SF/PF/F/UTIL) and Damion Lee (SG/G/UTIL).

NBA DFS 3/7 — PF

Tobias Harris, PHI (@ GSW) – DK $8,300

I’ve supplied you with a slewof value options for today, so we can spend up at PF for Harris, who’s been themain beneficiary from not having Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on the floor. He’sgot 7x upside tonight against the Warriors and should have no problem makingvalue in a favorable matchup. John Collins (who got off to a slow start lastnight but finished with 47.5 DK points) and Christian Wood (at least 35 DKpoints in nine of his last ten games) are both attractive options who can getus 40-50 DK points without much effort, but I think Harris has the most upside.

Pivots: John Collins/Christian Wood

NBA DFS 3/7 — C

Nikola Jokic, DEN (@ CLE) – DK $9,400

It really doesn’t matter if Cleveland has Andre Drummond back for this one or not, because Jokic should dominate this one from the jump. You can spend slightly down to Hassan Whiteside (second night of a back-to-back) or save even more with Jonas Valanciunas in a favorable matchup with the Hawks, but “Joker” is one of a select few players on the main slate with 70-point upside.

Pivots: Hassan Whiteside/JonasValanciunas

NBA DFS 3/6 — PG

Devin Booker, PHO (vs. POR) – DK $8,400

With Luka Doncic (illness) and Trae Young (flu-like symptoms) questionable tonight, I’m looking directly at Booker (PG/SG/G/UTIL) for my points explosion in a favorable matchup against the Blazers. We can stack him up with Damian Lillard, and find value with one of the Pacers point guards (Aaron Holiday or T.J. McConnell, both just $4K) if necessary, as Malcolm Brogdon is doubtful and Victor Oladipo is questionable. With Evan Fournier out, Michael Carter-Williams is another position-flexible guard who can produce in bunches – especially facing the Wolves.

Stack/Punts: DamianLillard/Aaron Holiday or T.J. McConnell/MCW

NBA DFS 3/6 — SG

Bradley Beal, WAS (vs. ATL) – DK $10,400

We could see a ceiling game from Beal (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) tonight in a high-scoring matchup against the Hawks, which means that 70 fantasy points aren’t out of the question if he gets hot from three-point range. There’s plenty of value out there in this slate, so spending up for Beal makes sense tonight. I’m not going to bother with a pivot, but Markelle Fultz is a sneaky value option (don’t play with MCW) and feel free to stack up this game with Jeff Teague (PG/SG/G/UTIL) and/or Kevin Huerter (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) if Young misses.

Value/Stack: Markelle Fultz/JeffTeague and/or Kevin Huerter

NBA DFS 3/6 — SF

DeAndre Hunter, ATL (@ WAS) – DK $4,900

He’s priced under $5K andhas enormous upside, albeit a fair share of risk. Hunter remains one of myfavorite GPP plays in up-tempo games, and he could get more minutes than normalif Cam Reddish (lower back pain) is limited in any way. If you don’t play Booker, then Mikal Bridges is a fine SF option for the Suns, who will be withoutDeAndre Ayton and looking for more scoring from their guards and forwards, andstackers might consider punting Jerome Robinson (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL), who’s beenseeing bigger minutes and will draw the start tonight against the Hawks.

Pivot/Punt: MikalBridges/Jerome Robinson

NBA DFS 3/6 — PF

Cheick Diallo, PHO (vs. POR) – DK $3,200

Diallo is not a play for the fearful, but he’s a great pivot from Aron Baynes in the Suns-Blazers battle and has 10x upside if he gets over 20 minutes tonight. He’s likely to be the first Suns player off the bench tonight. The spend-up options are Domantas Sabonis for a depleted Pacers rotation and Zion Williamson in a tough matchup that will keep his ownership low in GPPs.

Spend Pivots: Domantas Sabonis/ZionWilliamson

NBA DFS 3/6 — C

Kristaps Porzingis, DAL (vs. MEM) – DK $9,300

You can only play two players with center-only designationson DK today, and Aron Baynes will likely eat up a lot of that ownership in GPPs,so I’m looking directly at Porzingis for the bulk of my lineups. Luka is questionable,THJ is out and even Dorian Finney-Smith is nursing a hip injury that could keephim out tonight, so we could see max usage for Porzingis and Seth Curry in apace-up game against Memphis they should still win. Pivots include NikolaVucevic (also C/UTIL only) and Hassan Whiteside, but neither has the 70-pointceiling of the 7-3 Latvian.

Pivots: Nikola Vucevic or HassanWhiteside

NBA DFS 3/5 — PG

Jamal Murray, DEN (@ CHA) – DK $6,800

Murray doesn’t have the best matchup on paper, but he’s got50-point upside at a price point where he’s affordable, so I’ll be building abunch of lineups with him as my PG. You can pivot to Shake Milton if you’refading the DEN-CHA game, and if you’re going to stack the LAC-HOU game, you canpunt PG with Patrick Beverley, who’s been struggling lately with theaftereffects of a groin injury that forced him to miss a handful of games inFebruary.  They’ll need him against the elitebackcourt of the Rockets on Thursday night. There’s plenty of question markssurrounding the PG position today, but Murray has a decent floor and Beverley shouldsee about 20-25 minutes (or more) tonight, and he’s dirt cheap on DK.

Pivot/Punt: Shake Milton/PatrickBeverley

NBA DFS 3/5 — SG

James Harden, HOU (vs. LAC) – DK $10,700

Harden ismatchup-proof and offers the highest ceiling of any player in the slate, so I’mlocking him in tonight. It’s been a while since he’s had an elite scoring nightand this is the highest game total of the night, so I can’t find a reason to fadehim. Lou Williams (PG/SG/G/UTIL) makes for a fine stacking option and could beforced into bigger minutes than his usual 25 or so.

Stack: Lou Williams

NBA DFS 3/5 — SF

Kawhi Leonard, LAC (@ HOU) – DK $9,300

I’ll have some shares of Paul George and Tobias Harris as well, but Kawhi should play four quarters tonight and log heavy minutes in this Western Conference battle. He’ll probably draw Robert Covington’s defense, but he really doesn’t need to score 30+ to post an elite fantasy total, as he’ll pick up plenty of rebounds/steals/assists and both teams can play small until the cows come home. The Raptors have a slew of injuries, but Norman Powell makes for a viable punt if he’s in the starting five and getting 35-40 minutes against a hapless Warriors squad.

Pivots: Paul George or Tobias Harris/Norman Powell

NBA DFS 3/5 — PF

Mike Scott, PHI (@ SAC) – DK $3,800

Scott has 8x to 10x upside whenhe sees 30+ minutes, so if he’s starting tonight against the Kings he’s worthdeploying as a high-ceiling punt. The Philly frontcourt is beyond depleted andwe’ve seen the big guy come up big in the past when given the opportunity. Oneof the Philly bigs (be it Al Horford or SF/PF Glenn Robinson) is going to havea huge game tonight, and Scott carries a lower risk than normal if he’s astarter. Daniel House is never any fun to play in DFS, but he’s a pivot option atthis price point.

Pivots: Al Horford or GlennRobinson/Daniel House

NBA DFS 3/5 — C

Nikola Jokic, DEN (@ CHA) – DK $9,500

He might be tough to fit with some of the other studs in this list, but if you’ve got room, Jokic is the only center offering a 60-point upside. Even if he plays just 25-30 minutes, he’s got a 50-point upside in this matchup. In GPPs, there’s a path or rostering Harden, Kawhi, and Jokic if you can find a few darlings in the $3-4K range, and there’s plenty of candidates. If you’d rather not spend up and you’ve got the stones, you can play P.J. Washington in a tough matchup.

Pivot: P.J. Washington

Shabazz Napier, WAS (@ POR) – DK $5,000

Ish Smith is out tonight which leaves most of the PG minutes for Napier– whose biggest problem has been taking advantage of these opportunities. WhenNapier’s shot is going down, he’s got 50-point upside, so I’m rolling him outin a favorable matchup against his old team – the Blazers. Last night wetargeted the Pelicans and Wolves guards, and tonight we can look at this game.If we get word there will be no minutes restriction on Damian Lillard, then he’sa great pairing with Napier. Coby White is a solid pivot.

Pivot/Stack: Coby White/DamianLillard (if playing w/no restriction)

NBA DFS 3/4 — SG

Marcus Smart, BOS (@ CLE) – DK $7,000

The Celtics will be without Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward tonight, so most of the ball-handling duties will fall on Smart, who’s already averaging about 47 DK points per game over his last three. The price isn’t oppressive yet and while normally we’d be worried about a blowout, the depleted Celtics rotation almost ensures the Cavs can keep this close enough to warrant minutes from Smart in the fourth quarter. Spencer Dinwiddie is a solid pivot, especially if you believe that playing Caris LeVert again tonight is chasing points. Boston-Cleveland game stackers may want to give Collin Sexton a look as well.

Pivot/Stack: SpencerDinwiddie/Collin Sexton

NBA DFS 3/4 — SF

Brandon Ingram, NO (@ DAL) – DK $7,900

We’re probably going to want shares of some Pelicans tonight against the Mavericks in a game with a 240 total, and I think this could be a good spot for an Ingram bounce-back after Jrue Holiday, Lonzo Ball and Zion Williamson dominated the stat sheet on Tuesday night. Tim Hardaway Jr. is someone to look at a sneaky game stack option since a lot of the defensive attention will go to stopping Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. T.J. Warren in a pace-up game against the Bucks makes sense as a pivot.

Pivot/Stack:Tim Hardaway Jr./T.J. Warren

NBA DFS 3/4 — PF

David Bertans, WAS (@ POR) – DK $5,600

I’d like to play Luka Doncicand/or Hassan Whiteside in a few GPPs tonight, so it makes sense to look formore value scorers in the WAS-POR game. The Wizards will be without ThomasBryant tonight and I don’t know if playing Moe Wagner is the ticket, so Bertansand his three-point shooting prowess makes sense at such a bargain price. RuiHachimura is an option too (though I wouldn’t play both) and Minnesota’s JamesJohnson (PF/C/F/UTIL eligible) could be a solid leverage play for the Wolveswith folks likely going back to Naz Reid, and game stackers might want toconsider Carmelo Anthony as he could be busy, especially if we get word that Lillardwill be restricted.

Pivots/Stack: Rui Hachimura or JamesJohnson/Carmelo Anthony

NBA DFS 3/4 — C

Jonas Valanciunas, MEM (@ BKN) – DK $7,800

We can essentially lock in JVC for a double-double tonight against the Nets since he’s been seeing steady minutes and dominating the boards lately. The price has come up a bit, so if you’re concerned about spending money in the wasteland that is center, you can look at Daniel Theis at just $5,800. As I noted earlier, the obvious spend-up option is Whiteside

Spend/Pivot: Hassan Whiteside/DanielTheis

NBA DFS 3/3 — PG

Lonzo Ball, NO (vs. MIN) – DK $7,300

Ball has been flirting with a triple-double for weeks, and tonight could be the night he finally gets it. The Wolves are bad at defending distributors and this game features the highest total of the night, with the Pelicans 129.0 implied team total leading the way. De’Aaron Fox is the obvious pivot play, but we’ve seen his upside capped lately with the abdominal injury and he’s a little more expensive. We can run back DeAngelo Russell from the Minnesota side in-game stacks.

Pivot/Stack: De’AaronFox/DeAngelo Russell

NBA DFS 3/3 — SG

Jamal Murray, DEN (vs. GSW) – DK $6,700

The price on Murray (PG/SG/G/UTIL eligible) does not account for his 60-point upside in this matchup against the Warriors – who get shredded by opposing guards of all varieties. Starting up your PG/SG/G slots on DraftKings with Ball, Russell and Murray leave $5,400/per for the remaining five players, and we should be able to find enough value at our forward spots to squeeze in one more stud with 50+ upside. The best pivot is probably Malik Beasley at $6,000 on DK, since that’s a game we’ll need to have plenty of exposure to. If you’re building DEN-GSW game stacks, Andrew Wiggins is the spend option and Jordan Poole makes a good bit of sense at just $4,900, as he should be able to reach 6x in 30 minutes. He just doesn’t have the upside we’re seeking for large-field GPPs, so Wiggins is preferred.

Pivot/Stack: Malik Beasley/AndrewWiggins or Jordan Poole

NBA DFS 3/3 — SF

Buddy Hield, SAC (vs. WAS) – DK $5,500

Hield is risky because he doesn’t start and has seen fewer than 30 minutes in his last six games, but he’s got a legitimate 8x upside in this ideal matchup against a Wizards team that’s dead last in the league against shooting wings. If you’re not into starting sixth men you can spend up to DeMar DeRozan ($7,400) or take a chance with the recently quiet Will Barton, who has a good matchup but last cracked 40 DK points on Jan. 31 @ Milwaukee. For me, I’m interested in Hield in GPPs because he could knock down a bunch of threes and crack the 30-minute mark. Bradley Beal is obviously an option too, but I’m not that interested with the price tag north of $10K.

Spend/Pivot:DeMar DeRozan/Will Barton

NBA DFS 3/3 — PF

Zion Williamson, NO (vs. MIN) – DK $7,700

Are you ready for the Zion ceiling game? He’s a near-lock for 40 FP in a great matchup vs. the Wolves, and there’s no chance that any of the Minnesota forwards can handle him. We could see 60+ from the Pelicans PF tonight and he’s $1,000 cheaper than Pascal Siakam, who’s been producing at about the same rate. I’ll have shares of Rui Hachimura ($5,300 – PF/C/F/UTIL eligible) as well, and game stackers can explore James Johnson, who’ll be coming off the bench but should see big minutes against the Pels.

Pivot/Stack: Rui Hachimura/James Johnson

NBA DFS 3/3 — C

Bismack Biyombo, CHA (vs. SA) – DK $4,300

Biyombo is cheap enough to allow us to fit all the pricey guards we desire and Zion – so I’ll have big shares of him. He’s also been producing to the tune of 31 DK points per game over his last three. The Charlotte big man gets a cake matchup against a depleted Spurs frontcourt and has 8x to 10x upside tonight at home in a starting role. If you’ve saved some room for center salary, you can roster DeAndre Ayton or Steven Adams. Biyombo is only a solid play if he starts, so pivot to Cozy Zeller if they roll out that big stiff instead.

Pivots: DeAndre Ayton or Steven Adams

NBA DFS 2/29 — PG

James Harden, HOU (@ BOS) – DK $10,900

Harden reignited his rivalry with Giannis Antetokounmpo in a sit-down interview with Rachel Nichols and will be looking to back up his claims tonight in a highly anticipated Leap Year Special with the Celtics. The Bearded One is essentially matchup-proof and dropped 42 real-life points (and 67 DK points) against Boston on Feb. 11. It’s weird to say he could be overlooked, but there is a bunch of interesting SG plays today and we can sneak Harden in at PG – where he’s priced a little bit higher than Trae Young and has more consistent upside. I’ll probably build about half of my GPP lineups around Harden in anticipation of lower ownership than usual and very little chance of a blowout. Trae is a fine pivot against the Blazers, but my HOU-BOS game stacks won’t be using any of the PG-eligible Celtic guards.

Pivot: Trae Young

NBA DFS 2/29 — SG

C.J. McCollum, POR (@ ATL) – DK $9,200

I really don’t care that McCollum is $9,200, because he should be over $10K, especially in a matchup with the Hawks that could see another monster game total. McCollum’s usage with the current Portland starters is a whopping 34% and he’s scored 50 or more DK points in there of his last four – the one outlier being a 43.25 DK outing against the defensively-minded Pacers. As chief playmaker for this Portland team (which is fighting with a slew of other squads in the Western Conference to snag the last playoff spot), he’s going to have to bring it every night until Damian Lillard returns. I’m fading the likely popular DeMar DeRozan at $7,600 in a low-total game against the Magic that’s guaranteed to fall well short of last night’s madness from a pace perspective, but I don’t mind taking a crack at Bryn Forbes ($3,200) when he’s easily got 8x to 10x upside as one of the Spurs primary three-point shooters and getting about 20-25 minutes. The best non-punt value pivot is probably Jaylen Brown – who was nursing ankle injuries the last time Boston faced the Rockets and is expensive enough at $6,900 to ward off high ownership. Smart is cheaper but doesn’t have the same offensive upside.

Pivot/Punt: Jaylen Brown or MarcusSmart/Bryn Forbes

NBA DFS 2/29 — SF

Mikal Bridges, PHO (vs. GSW) – DK $5,200

With Kelly Oubre out for the year, Bridges (SG/SF/G/F/UTIL) has been seeing more minutes and draws a great matchup tonight against the Warriors – who struggle to defend 3&D wings like Mikal. Cam Johnson sustained an “upper-body” injury after a fall in last night’s contest that eaves him questionable for tonight’s matchup, so we could see Bridges play a bit more with the second unit as well. He’s a solid GPP option on a night where he might go overlooked and makes for a good bargain wing to include in your lineups. DraftKings lists very few SF-only players and I doubt Bridges will see much ownership with so many stud SGs (like Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan) and PFs (Jayson Tatum and Gordon Hayward) eligible at SF. Bridges may not have a 50-point upside like those guys, but he’s got around a 45-point ceiling and his floor comes up with the new injury to Johnson. Cam Reddish has a great motor and has been playing well, so he’s a fine pivot for a few bucks less. If Andrew Wiggins actually plays tonight, he’d make a fine stacking option – though I’m a little worried about the game blowing out.

Pivot/Stack:Cam Reddish/Andrew Wiggins

NBA DFS 2/29 — PF

Carmelo Anthony, POR (@ ATL) – DK $5,700

Carmelo is another important part of Blazers-Hawks game stacks and should be a lot busier offensively than he was at Indiana two nights ago. He’s 9-for-21 from three-point range over his last four games, including the 0-for-0 in Thursday’s loss. Melo’s in a good spot against a team that gives up big fantasy points to versatile forwards, but I’ll be pivoting down a bit for some more value in quite a few builds to Kyle Kuzma at just $4,600. Kuzma has 8x to 10x upside in a possibly LeBron-less game against Memphis where he could see 30 minutes. Game stackers should consider De’Andre Hunter, who will be playing a lot of 4 against Melo. Anthony Davis is going to drawn higher ownership, but I have some concerns, so I’m fading him. At his price, I like other guys better and if he beats me, he beats me.

Pivot/Stack: Kyle Kuzma/De’Andre Hunter

NBA DFS 2/29 — C

Marquese Chriss, GSW (@ PHO) – DK $5,400

If we played a lot of the high-value options at guard and forward, we need to find some value at C, and I’m looking no further than Chriss, who was a dud against the dominant frontcourt the Lakers threw at him. The former “Marquese de Phoenix” (I just made that up) might put up a show against the weak defense played by the Suns’ bigs, so I’m embracing the inherent risk of him not getting more than 30 minutes and focusing on his 8x upside in just 25-30 minutes. He’s a great option in Suns-Warriors stacks along with Wiggins, and the best pivot in his price range is probably Myles Turner. One punt option that stands out is ATL power big Bruno Fernando, who’s just $3,500 on DK and has been playing minutes in the 20s now. He’s got 10x upside against a team that ranks low in defensive efficiency against big men. But I have no qualms about making Bam Adebayo your center. I’m done fading that guy and will be using him in lineups where I haven’t blown my salary on guards.

Spend/Pivot/Punt: Bam Adebayo/MylesTurner/Bruno Fernando
