Alabama sports betting is not legal.
Recently, there have been attempts to legalize sports betting, but nothing has come to pass. Between 2019 and 2021, there were four bills brought to legalize sports betting but all four were unsuccessful.
The most recent attempt was in 2021, when the state considered legalizing online Alabama sportsbooks but decided not to vote on SB 319.
Alabama has always had a strict stance on any type of gambling, especially sports. They have no state lottery, no horse racing tracks, and only one Native American tribe (Poarch Band of Creek) with permission to own and operate casinos within state lines.
