11/23 NHL DFS – The Daily Hot Shot

This article focuses on NHL DFS Picks for 11/23 on DraftKings and FanDuel. Both sites have fairly different scoring formats, particularly with the recent changes on DraftKings. We consider tournament tactics, statistics, pricing, and attempt to tackle this highly variable Daily Fantasy format so we can gain an edge on the field at large. BE SURE to double-check both regular and power play lines at both morning skate and before lock as they can drastically change from the time of publication.

Top Five Lines

Tampa Bay One – Brayden Point, Steven Stamkos, Ondrej Palat

Tampa Bay will likely be the chalk of the night with a projected 3.89 goal total and as a slate high -215 favorite. It will be important to see the status of Nikita Kucherov and track that throughout the day as his status is still up in the air. If Kucherov returns I would suggest using his normal line with Brayden Point. However, proceeding as if he will not return, we can turn to the current Tampa Bay One consisting of Point, Steven Stamkos, and Ondrej Palat. Point and Stamkos would be the two primary plays and also share correlation on the power play one.

Boston One – David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron

The Minnesota Wild haven’t been as poor as of late as they were to begin the season. However, it’s all relative as they should get the usual treatment visitors get in Boston. As always, I don’t have to sing their praises but it is a matter of trying to afford them. The 3.23 projected goal total for the Bruins is a bit low but should climb all the way up to game time. When the notification pops up that Boston just scored a goal, the only question that remains is whether it was Pasta, Brad Marchand, or Patrice Bergeron.

Montreal One – Tomas Tatar, Phillip Danault, Brendan Gallagher, Shea Weber (Add-On)

The Rangers certainly disappointed us last night, laying a total egg in Ottawa. I don’t think things get better for them on the back to back as they head up to Montreal for a tussle with the Habs. Ichiro’s son Nick Suzuki and the second line, as well as the Montreal third line, should be in play to grab some of Montreal’s 3.76 projected goal total. However, it should be the first line in the best spot to pick their matchups and do the most damage.

“Value” New York Islanders Two – Brock Nelson, Derrick Brassard, Anthony Beauvillier

This might be the hottest line in hockey right now and they come in cheap across the industry, particularly on DraftKings. The Islanders are away from home ice, but get an up-tempo matchup with the Sharks. The production over the last week speaks for itself as they have helped propel the Islanders to a franchise-record points streak.

“Value” Colorado One – Nathan McKinnon, Andre Burakovsky, Joonas Donskoi, Cale Makar (Add-On)

Outside of Nathan McKinnon, the other two pieces are cheap so I do consider this a value line. They should be able to dispose of the spiraling Maple Leafs at home. I am struggling to figure out why the odds at the time of writing are so close with the Avs just a -120 favorite. If you really want to spice things up, throw in Cale Makar who has arguably been the second-best fantasy defenseman so far this season, outside of John Carlson.

11/23 Monkey Knife Fight NHL Prop Picks – Win With These Picks Here and Get 100 Percent Bonus!

David Pastrnak – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal and Blocks – Wow, considering Pasta has been routinely getting the five-shot on goal bonuses, this seems very fair.

Cale Makar – Over 3.5 Fantasy Points It feels strange to be writing up an Avalanche player outside of Nathan McKinnon. However, Cale Makar is the real deal and the price in DFS and threshold on Monkey Knife Fight will both only increase in the future.
