MLB Picks

Randy Arozarena – .5 Runs + RBI’s – Over

If you’ve followed the Win Daily Sports team, you know the Rays are always a favorite!  The Rays get to take on John Means today in a great matchup for them.  Means is coming off a down year where he had an xFIP over 4.3 and really struggled against righties.  Righties had a .230 ISO against him and a near 47% flyball rate. 

Arozarena did extremely well against lefties last year, with a .238 ISO and a .400 wOBA.  This is a great matchup for him and hitting in the cleanup spot he should get at least an RBI today.  I’m going with the Over on this PrizePicks projection.

Wander Franco – 5.5 Hitter Fantasy Score – Over

Franco is in the same position as Arozarena today and this 5.5 Fantasy Score projection we have today seems really light.  The Rays should get to Means early and often today and with Franco in the 2 hole, he should be a big part of it.  Franco gives us everything we want in a player.  Power and the ability to get on base.  To get this fantasy score today, all we really need from Franco is a double and run scored/RBI.  That seems like a lock in this matchup.  

Eduardo Escobar – .5 Runs + RBI’s – Over

The New York Mets get a great matchup vs. a pitcher in Josiah Gray that struggled in the majors last year.  Gray finished the year with a 5.05 xFIP and an ERA that wasn’t far from that.  What he really struggled with was the long ball.  No pitcher on today’s slate had a HR/FB ration last year. 

Escobar should be in a spot in the lineup today where there will be plenty of opportunities for an RBI.  The Mets should put up a big number tonight and Escobar will be heavily involved in the action.  I’m going with the Over.

Kyle Schwarber – 7.5 Hitter Fantasy Score – Over

It has the potential to get really ugly in Philly today for the A’s and Frankie Montas.  This revamped lineup for the Phillies will be putting up plenty of runs this season.  Schwarber is my home run call of the day.  He should face plenty of Sinkers today and that’s his bread and butter.  Over the past few years, Schwarber has a .412 ISO against this pitch from righties and a .465 wOBA.  He should easily get the 7.5 Fantasy Score from one pitch today.  Over here for me on this PrizePicks projection.  

MLB Summary

With it being day 2 of the season, we’re starting to get some exploitable matchups.  Today we’ll look to take advantage of the spots in Tampa, Philly, and Washington.
