MLB Picks

Shane Bieber – 6.5 Strikeouts – Over

There is no pitcher on today’s pitcher with the K upside that Bieber has.  Last year he sported a 33.10% K rate, while also having a 16.2% swinging-strike rate.  He’s a stud pitcher and gets a lineup today featuring 4 guys that had a K rate vs. righties last year greater than 26% and also a rookie in Bobby Witt Jr. making his major league debut.  The scene is set up nicely for Bieber to get his 7 strikeouts tonight.  I’m going with the Over here.

Corbin Burnes – 17.5 Pitching Outs – Over

To get this number this afternoon, Burnes just needs to throw 6 innings.  It’s a feat he accomplished more often than not last season and he also gets a great matchup today against the Cubs.  No longer does this lineup have guys like Rizzo or Bryant, as both were shipped out last season around the deadline.  Burnes should have no issue navigating this watered-down lineup today.  Only concern  here is the weather and it being early in the season, but I’m going with the Over.

Pete Alonso – 6.5 Hitter Fantasy Score – Over

If you read my Stack City article, you know that the Mets are one of my favorite offenses tonight.  They should absolutely light up Patrick Corbin tonight.  That should all start with Pete Alonso.  One of the main pitches that Alonso will see tonight is a sinker from the south paw.  Over the last few years Alonso has a staggering .872 ISO against this pitch from lefties.  If PrizePicks had a homer prop, I’d be picking Alonso first.  Look for him to take Corbin deep tonight and get at least 6.5 points.  

Luke Voit – 1.5 Total Bases – Over

Another pitcher I plan on picking today in both DFS and on PrizePicks is Madison Bumgarner.  The man is a shell of his former self and has had two really down years.  I’m going to attack him today with newly acquired Luke Voit.  During the course of his career, Voit has a .516 slugging % vs. lefties.  Every at-bat, he has the chance to lefties deep.  Should MadBum miss with any of his cutters tonight, Voit will be there waiting with his .479 wOBA against that pitch type from lefties.  A double or homer is definitely in the cards for Voit tonight.  I’m going with the Over on the PrizePicks projections.

MLB Summary

Baseball’s back, back again.  If you’re like me, you’re giddy as can be with baseball being back.  I tried to lay out here some picks on PrizePicks that should hit tonight.  I’d recommend picking hitters from the Mets, Padres, and even some Guardians tonight.
