Main Slate

Liverpool (-150) at Tottenham (+335) – Under 3 Goals (-120) – LATE GAME – FANDUEL ONLY

This game might not have the highest total and Liverpool might not have the greatest odds compared to other teams on this slate. However, I absolutely love this game for FanDuel tournaments. I will have exposure to both Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold if I can fit him too. This a rematch of last year’s Champions League Final and if you think that the difference between the two teams was lopsided then, it is even worse now. Liverpool is 12 games away from setting a new EPL record unbeaten streak and looks like arguably the best soccer club team ever over the course of a single season. Tottenham has lost striker Harry Kane perhaps for the season and is an absolute mess on defense. I think that Liverpool wins handily at lower ownership than they should get in this spot. “The Special One”, Tottenham Coach Jose Mourinho, will not be feeling so special after this game. As for the Tottenham side, outside of the central defenders on FanDuel, it is a hard pass.

Burnley (+900) at Chelsea (-350) – Under 3 Goals (-130)

Aghhh my favorite team for DFS, Chelsea. That was sarcastic just in case you were wondering. They will likely be somewhat chalky as the slate’s biggest favorite, coming in at -350 at the time of writing. On Draftkings, it is Willan you are looking for with his role on set pieces to fill a forward slot and on FanDuel it is Tammy Abraham as the striker and primary goal scorer. Beyond that, with Christian Pulisic out hurt, Callum Hudson Odoi should be chalky on FanDuel at only $10 and Mason Mount is a tournament option, probably better reserved for DraftKings. I don’t think we need to mess with Burnley but feel free to fire away those 3% owned Chris Wood flyers in large-field tournaments if you wish.

Norwich City (+720) at Manchester United (-275) – Over 3 Goals (-115)

This is a terrific matchup for Manchester United team facing a Norwich team that plays open and allows a lot of goals. I like them more on FanDuel as guys like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are very goal dependent. Beyond that, you can take a flier on Daniel James for savings. There is not a whole lot else going on here. As for Norwich, the only player I would be interested in is Emiliano Buendia. He has been matchup-proof lately with a very high floor each of his last six games. Manchester United is dealing with some injuries on defense, including one to expensive offseason acquisition and captain, central defender Harry Maguire. On Draftkings, Buendia is an easy play, at least in cash, and he is a very strong play on FanDuel as well. He should be at least $9,000 on Draftkings and $20 on FanDuel but I don’t set the pricing.

Southampton (+440) at Leicester City (-200) – Under 3 Goals (-130)

James Maddison picked up an injury mid-week in an FA Cup game so that is something to keep an eye on. If he were out, Marc Albrighton could give us some serious value on DraftKings for only $5,000. I think people will be off Leicester so Maddison if in, and Jamie Vardy makes for solid tournaments plays. I’d use Vardy more on FanDuel although his price has come down a bit on DraftKings to $8,100. Vardy only has one goal in his last three games after scoring at least one goal in eight straight. However, two of those three games were against Liverpool and Manchester City, where Leicester as a team was simply outclassed. Last time these teams met, Leicester won 9-0 earlier this year. On the Southampton side, you can mess with James Ward Prowse on DraftKings or roll with Danny Ings on FanDuel and hope that his magical streak continues. However, Leicester has been one of the best defensive teams in the EPL this season so this is far from an optimal spot for those two.

Newcastle (+650) at Wolves (-235) – Under 2 1/2 Goals (-120)

Wolves have been solid this season and come in decent favorites. I like them more on FanDuel due to pricing with Raul Jimenez the main target. You could roll with Adama Traore as a DraftKings forward but he is a bit too expensive now for my taste. Joao Moutinho makes for a solid Draftkings play but perhaps more of a cash play at $8,000 as there is little upside built-in at his price. This Pedro Neto is playing up front with Jimenez and scored a goal last time; Neto is only $9 on FanDuel. Most of the Newcastle defensemen I’d consider on FanDuel are either out or GTDs so there is not a lot to like on that side of the game. The only thing I do like from Magpies is if Matt Ritchie starts, he is risky but sneaky Draftkings tournament play at only $5,700. Injured for most of this season, while not elite, he is easily the best offensive player on this team. He likely won’t go the full ninety minutes but you might not need it at that price.

Brighton (+330) at Everton (-130) – Over 2.5 Goals (-120)

Right off the bat, Gylfi Sigurdsson is the obvious cash play in terms of DraftKings forwards. He is taking all of the set pieces now so for $7,700 lock him in there on that site. As for Lucas Digne, without a share of set pieces, he is now unplayable at his price tag on either site. You can take a tournament stab on Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin if looking for the goals. Keep in mind though, this team started their entire first team in an FA Cup qualifier against a Liverpool team starting three bench players and a bunch of sixteen-year-olds and still lost. As for Brighton, there is just no need to go there although I guess on DraftKings you can consider a Pascal Gros or Alizer Jahanbakhsh if in as contrarian forward options. I do like Matt Ryan in the net on Draftkings as he is around $1,200 cheaper than the next usable goalie so should be popular given Everton’s comparatively low odds as a favorite compared to some of the other teams.
