CFB Plays 12/19/20

In this article, I will be breaking down the CFB Plays 12/19/20. I will provide a few of my favorite and top plays from each position to help you construct your lineups and cash on the main slate tomorrow. I want to note if I leave a play out of my article that doesn’t necessarily mean that play is a bad one. If you have any questions on the slate feel free to DM me in discord. Here are the CFB Plays 12/19/20.

Quarterbacks:

Justin Fields (FD $11,000 / DK $9,800) vs Northwestern

I will start right at the top with Fields who will be playing Northwestern for the Big Ten championship in Indy. This game carries a modest 55.5 over/under but Ohio St has the 3rd highest implied team total on the slate of 37.0 points. Ohio St is also fighting to stay in the top 4 teams of the college football playoff rankings so even with an 18.5 point spread favoring Ohio St in this game, I personally think they won’t ease up if they get up big against Northwestern. Yes, Northwestern has been playing some solid defense this year but they haven’t faced an offense anywhere close to Ohio St. I will easily take Fields at his price on FD and DK especially with his rushing upside.

Mac Jones (FD $10,000) vs Florida

In the SEC championship game, we have Alabama vs Florida. Florida is coming off a stunning loss to LSU last week and now has to play (in my opinion) the best team in the country. This game has a massive 73.5 over/under with Alabama holding the slate’s highest implied team total of 45.50 points and being 17.5 point favorites. I will do my best to pair Fields/Jones in the same lineup on FD. DK for some reason has left out the Alabama/Florida game off its main slate. Don’t pay any attention to Jones’s last game as Alabama cruised to a big 52-3 win over Arkansas where he sat the whole 2nd half. He shouldn’t have any issue with the Florida defense as true freshman Max Johnson for LSU threw for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns against them last week.

Max Johnson (FD $8,900 / DK $6,800) vs Ole Miss

Freshman Max Johnson got the start at quarterback against Florida and led them to an upset win. Coach Ed Orgeron has stated that Johnson will get the start again this week vs Ole Miss. The game between LSU/Ole Miss has the highest over/under on the slate at 75.5 with a tight point spread favoring Ole Miss by 2.5 points. LSU has the 4th highest implied team total on the slate as well sitting at 36.5 points. Ole Miss isn’t good at defending the pass this year as they are giving up 310.6 yards, 8.5 pass YPA, and 2.0 touchdowns a game. In conclusion on FD I would rather pay up for Fields/Jones but on DK Johnson is a near lock at his current price of $6,800 in such a high over/under game.

Other quarterbacks:

Trevor Lawrence (FD $10,200 / DK $8,700)

Kellen Mond (FD $9,300 / DK $7,600)

Running backs:

Najee Harris (FD $11,200) / Breece Hall (FD $10,700 / DK $8,500)

On FD Harris > Hall for me with only a $500 difference. If you have read my past articles I think Harris is the best running back in college football. So with no real price difference between Harris/Hall, I will easily take Harris as the top option on the slate. On DK it’s a different story as the Alabama/Florida game isn’t on the main slate and Hall is $8,500 on DK. He faces an Oklahoma team who he already scored 30.7 DK points against earlier this year. While rushing for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Travis Etienne (FD $9,400 / DK $7,800)

For a little less on both sites, you can save some salary and go with Etienne who is one of the best college football running backs in the country. Clemson has a big matchup with huge implications on the college football rankings with Notre Dame who beat them earlier this year without Trevor Lawrence though. Clemson and Etienne are 10.5 point favorites for this game. Etienne didn’t do much in the game earlier vs Notre Dame as he was held to 28 rushing yards 1 touchdown and 8 receptions for 57 yards. With Lawrence back in the mix I could definitely see a big game from him.

Chris Curry (FD $6,100 / DK $4,100)

Curry is the value play at running back on both sides but especially on DK at only $4,100. He should get the start for LSU in a high over/under game with Tyrion Davis-Price already out and John Emery Jr. questionable. The Ole Miss rush defense is a good one to target as they are giving up 217.9 yards, 5.7 YPA, and 3.0 touchdowns a game.

Other running backs:

Nakia Watson (FD $7,300 / DK $3,600) – Fellow running back Jalen Berger isn’t listed on the depth chart while Watson is listed as RB1 for Wisconsin. At $3,600 on DK he is basically a free square with potential volume and a great matchup against Minnesota.

Trey Sermon (FD $6,300 / DK $4,900)

Wide Receivers:

DeVonta Smith (FD $11,000)

The best receiver in college football and Heisman candidate Smith is a near-lock for me on FD. We can also pair him with Mac Jones which I will be trying to do on FD. With Alabama holding the highest implied team total on the slate we can expect a ton of touchdowns from this offense. Smith leads the team with an insane 35% target share while averaging 133.8 YPG and 27.1 fantasy points per game.

Garret Wilson (FD $9,100 / DK $8,000)

Staying with the stacking our quarterback/wide receiver. Fields/Wilson is nice on both sites but especially on DK with the Alabama/Florida not on the main slate. Wilson leads the team with a 32.6% target share and averages 127.8 YPG and 22 fantasy points per game on FD.

Kayshon Boutte (FD $7,000 / DK $5,700)

Boutte has had two solid weeks in a row and last week vs Florida he pulled in 5 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown. The LSU offense gets an easier matchup with Ole Miss who give up the 2nd most passing yards on the slate. Also helps out that Racey McMath is questionable. Boutte leads the team with a 16% target share.

Ole Miss wide receivers

With both top receivers Elijah Moore and Kenny Yeboah declaring for the 2021 NFL draft that leaves a massive hole in the Ole Miss receiver core. I am looking at two in particular on DK Dontario Drummond who is $4,400 and Jonathan Mingo who is $3,700. Both are great value plays at the receiver position in a game that has a 75.5 over/under.
